Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a gardener in Colwyn Bay can be a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First off, I head down to the Promenade. You know, that lovely stretch by the sea? It’s got that fresh air, and the waves crashing are just... chef’s kiss. But then, I spot this old bloke, right? He’s tryin’ to feed the seagulls. I mean, c’mon, mate! Those birds are like flying rats! They swoop down, and before you know it, he’s covered in crumbs and chaos. I’m laughin’ so hard, I nearly drop my spade. Then I’m off to my first job on Abergele Road. Nice little garden, but the owner? Ugh, total nightmare. She’s all like, “Make it look like Kew Gardens!” Lady, I’m not a magician! I’m just a gardener! I’m diggin’ away, and she’s hoverin’ over me like a hawk. “More flowers! Less weeds!” I’m thinkin’, “Yeah, and less you would be nice too!” After that, I’m on my way to the next gig on Penrhyn Road. But guess what? I get stuck in traffic. Like, seriously? It’s a Tuesday! I’m sittin’ there, fuming, and I see this kid on a bike zoom past. I’m like, “Why didn’t I just cycle?” But nah, I’m too busy bein’ a responsible adult. Finally, I get to Penrhyn Road, and it’s a lovely little spot. The garden’s a mess, but I can see the potential. I’m all pumped to get started, but then it starts drizzling. Just my luck, right? I’m out there, tryin’ to plant some tulips, and it’s like Mother Nature’s playin’ a joke on me. “Oh, you wanted sunshine? Nah, here’s some rain instead!” But then, outta nowhere, this cute dog runs up to me. A little Jack Russell, all wagging tail and energy. I’m like, “Hey buddy, you wanna help?” He just looks at me like, “Nah, I’m just here for the fun.” And honestly, that made my day. So, I’m workin’ away, and I finally get the garden lookin’ decent. I’m sweatin’ like a pig, but it’s all good. I’m feelin’ proud, right? Then the owner comes out, and she’s like, “Wow, it’s beautiful!” I’m grinnin’ ear to ear. That’s what it’s all about, innit? But then, as I’m packin’ up, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and it’s a bloody wheelie bin toppled over! Rubbish everywhere! I’m like, “Seriously?!” So, I’m out there, pickin’ up trash like it’s my new hobby. By the time I’m done, I’m knackered. I head back to the Promenade to chill. Grab a fish and chips from that little shop on the corner. You know the one? Best in Colwyn Bay! I sit on a bench, watchin’ the sunset, and thinkin’ about the day. It was mad, it was messy, but it was mine. Colwyn Bay, you’ve got my heart. Even with the seagulls and the crazy traffic. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
