Wow, what a day! Seriously, Crumlin, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring day at the library. You know, sorting books, shushing kids, the usual. But nah, Crumlin had other plans. First off, I’m rollin’ down the High Street, right? It’s a typical Tuesday morning. The sun’s out, but it’s still chilly. I’m thinking, “Great, I’ll need my coat.” But then I see this old bloke, right outside the Co-op, trying to juggle oranges. Like, what? I stop, and he’s all serious about it. I’m cracking up, and he’s like, “You think this is funny?” I’m like, “Mate, it’s hilarious!” He just grins and drops one. Classic. So, I finally get to the library, and it’s dead quiet. Too quiet. I’m thinking, “Where’s everyone at?” Then, boom! A school group bursts in, all loud and rowdy. Kids everywhere! I’m trying to keep my cool, but they’re running around like they’re on a sugar high. I’m like, “Oi! This ain’t a playground!” But they just laugh and keep going. Ugh, kids! Then, I get a call from Mrs. Jenkins. She’s the sweetest old lady, but she’s also a bit of a handful. She’s like, “Dear, I need that book on gardening!” I’m like, “Sure, Mrs. J!” But then I remember, it’s checked out. I tell her, and she goes off about how “no one respects the library anymore.” I’m just standing there, trying not to roll my eyes. After that, I decide to take a break. I head over to the park on Crumlin Road. It’s a nice spot, you know? Green grass, a few trees. I sit on a bench, just chillin’. But then I see this dog running around, and it’s got a stick that’s way too big for it. I’m talking, like, a tree branch! The owner’s just laughing, and I’m thinking, “That dog’s gonna take someone out!” Then, outta nowhere, it runs straight at me! I’m like, “Oh no!” But the dog just skids to a stop, drops the stick, and looks at me like, “What’s up?” I can’t help but laugh. Dogs are the best, right? So, I head back to the library, and guess what? The kids are still there! But now they’re all sitting down, reading. I’m shocked! I mean, who knew they could actually focus? I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe Crumlin isn’t so bad after all. But then, just as I’m getting comfy, the fire alarm goes off! I’m like, “Seriously?!” Everyone’s rushing out, and I’m trying to keep my cool. I’m counting heads, making sure no one’s left behind. I’m thinking, “This is gonna be a nightmare.” We all end up outside, and it’s freezing! I’m standing there, shivering, and I see Mrs. Jenkins again. She’s wrapped in a blanket, looking like a little bird. I can’t help but smile. She’s like, “Well, at least I’m not in the library!” After what feels like forever, the fire brigade shows up. Turns out, it was just a false alarm. Phew! But I’m still fuming. I mean, who pulls a fire alarm on a Tuesday? Finally, we get back inside, and I’m ready to call it a day. But then, a kid comes up to me, all excited. He’s like, “Miss, I found a book about space!” I’m like, “That’s awesome, mate!” And just like that, my mood lifts. Crumlin, you’re a wild ride. From juggling oranges to fire alarms, you keep me on my toes. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
