Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up in my flat on the High Street, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be epic!” Little did I know, it was gonna be a rollercoaster. First off, I grab a coffee from my fave spot, The Bean Scene. Best flat whites in Dundee, no cap. I’m standing there, waiting for my drink, and this guy in front of me spills his latte all over the counter. I’m talkin’ a full-on coffee tsunami. I’m like, “Mate, you good?” He just laughs it off, but I’m thinkin’, “Dude, that’s a waste of good coffee!” Anyway, I head down to the waterfront. The V&A is lookin’ stunning, as always. I mean, that building is a work of art! I’m strolling along the Tay, feeling all philosophical, ya know? Then I spot this street performer. He’s juggling flaming torches! I’m like, “What the actual heck?” I can barely juggle my own life, and this guy’s out here playing with fire. So, I toss him a couple of quid. He catches my eye and winks. I’m blushing like a school kid. Then, outta nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches his hat! I’m dying laughing. The poor bloke’s chasing after it, and I’m just standing there, cackling like a lunatic. After that, I decide to hit up the Dundee Law. Gotta get my steps in, right? Climbing that hill is no joke! Halfway up, I’m gasping for air, thinking, “Why do I do this to myself?” But when I reach the top, man, the view is worth it. You can see the whole city, the river, the bridges. It’s breathtaking. I snap a pic for the ‘Gram, of course. But then, I get a text from my mate, Jamie. He’s like, “Oi, meet me at the Overgate!” I’m thinking, “Great, more walking.” So, I head down, and on the way, I pass by the McManus. That place is a treasure trove of history. I could spend hours in there, but I’m on a mission. Finally, I get to the Overgate, and Jamie’s there, looking all smug. He’s just come from a job interview. I’m like, “How’d it go?” He’s all, “I nailed it!” I’m pumped for him, but also a bit jealous. I mean, I’m still stuck in this Banderilleros gig, and he’s off to be a big shot. We grab some scran at a wee café. I order haggis, neeps, and tatties. Jamie’s like, “You’re brave, mate.” I’m like, “Nah, just hungry!” But honestly, it’s delish. I’m shoveling it in, and he’s telling me about his interview. I’m trying to focus, but I can’t help but think about how I’m gonna pay rent next month. Then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off! Everyone’s panicking, and I’m just sitting there, fork halfway to my mouth, like, “Seriously?!” We all have to evacuate, and I’m thinking, “This is just my luck.” Once we’re outside, I see the fire brigade roll up. They’re all calm and collected, while I’m just trying to figure out if I can finish my haggis later. Jamie’s cracking jokes, and I’m like, “Dude, this isn’t funny!” But I can’t help but laugh too. After the chaos, we decide to hit the pub. A pint of Tennent’s is calling my name. We settle in at The Counting House, and I’m finally relaxing. The day’s been a whirlwind, but I’m grateful for the madness. As I sit there, I think about Dundee. It’s a city full of surprises. From the stunning views at the Law to the quirky streets like Nethergate and the bustling atmosphere of the city center. It’s home, and even on the craziest days, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of laughs, a bit of chaos, and a whole lotta Dundee spirit. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
