Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Exmouth really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I woke up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up The Strand for brekkie. You know, the usual – full English, beans, toast, the works. But guess what? The café was packed! I mean, come on, it’s a Tuesday! I had to wait like 20 mins just to get a table. I was fuming. Like, who knew Exmouth was the breakfast hotspot? Finally, I snagged a seat. I’m munching away, and this seagull swoops in like it’s the boss of the place. It snatched my toast! I’m there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I swear, that bird had the audacity of a king. I was ready to throw my plate at it, but then I thought, “Nah, I’ll just let it have its moment.” After brekkie, I strolled down to the beach. Exmouth’s got this stunning stretch of sand, right? I mean, it’s beautiful. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring! Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. I’m dodging puddles on Queen’s Drive, looking like a drowned rat. I was so mad! But then, I see this little kid building a sandcastle. He’s all focused, like it’s the most important thing in the world. I couldn’t help but smile. Kids have this magic, ya know? They can turn a rainy day into a fun adventure. So, I joined him. We built this epic fortress. I named it “Fort Exmouth.” Then, outta nowhere, this old dude comes up. He’s like, “You call that a castle?” I’m like, “Excuse me, sir? This is a masterpiece!” He just chuckles and starts helping us. Turns out, he’s a retired architect. We’re chatting about the craziest buildings in Exmouth, like the old Pavilion. I mean, that place has seen better days, but it’s got character, right? After the castle, I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy. I decide to hit up the shops on Rolle Street. I’m browsing, and I find this quirky little shop selling all sorts of random stuff. I pick up a rubber duck dressed as a pirate. I mean, who wouldn’t want that? But then, I see my ex. Ugh, the drama! She’s with some dude, and they’re all lovey-dovey. I’m standing there, rubber duck in hand, trying to act cool. Inside, I’m like, “Why am I still single?” But whatever, I just laughed it off. Next, I head to the marina. The boats are bobbing, and I’m just chillin’. I see this guy trying to launch his boat, but he’s struggling. I mean, it’s like watching a toddler try to tie their shoes. I can’t help but laugh. He finally gets it, and the boat just takes off without him! Classic! As the sun starts to set, I’m walking back along the seafront. The sky’s all pink and orange, and I’m feeling grateful. Exmouth, you wild little town, you’ve got my heart. I mean, who knew a day could be so crazy? So, yeah, that was my day. From seagull attacks to sandcastle building, it was a rollercoaster. Exmouth, you’re a gem, even when you’re a bit mad. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
