Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a glazier in Litherland ain’t for the faint-hearted. Woke up this mornin’ thinkin’ it’d be just another day, y’know? But nah, the universe had other plans. First off, I’m rollin’ outta bed, bleary-eyed, and I spill me cuppa all over the kitchen floor. Great start, right? I’m hopin’ it’s not a sign of things to come. Anyway, I grab me tools and head out. The sun’s shinin’ over Litherland, but it’s still chilly. I’m walkin’ down Church Road, and I can’t help but notice how the old buildings look all cozy in the morning light. Makes ya feel all warm inside, y’know? So, I get to me first job on Sefton Road. This bloke, right, he’s got a window that’s been smashed to bits. I mean, it looked like a bomb went off. I’m thinkin’, “How’d ya even manage that?” Turns out, his mate was tryin’ to impress some birds with a football trick. Classic! Anyway, I’m fixin’ it up, and I’m feelin’ pretty good. The sun’s out, I’m in me element, and I’m makin’ this window look brand new. But then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, proper rain. I’m standin’ there, soaked to the bone, and I’m like, “Really?!” I mean, come on, Litherland! Can’t a bloke catch a break? I’m tryin’ to work, and I’m slippin’ all over the place. I’m cursing under me breath, thinkin’ about how I should’ve just stayed in bed. After that, I head over to the job on Linacre Road. This lady, bless her, she’s got a cat that’s more interested in me tools than the window. I’m tryin’ to work, and this furry little monster keeps jumpin’ on me. I’m laughin’ and swattin’ it away, but it’s like it’s got a vendetta against me. I swear, it’s like the cat’s tryin’ to sabotage me! Finally, I get the window sorted, and the lady’s chuffed. She offers me a cuppa, and I’m like, “Yeah, why not?” We sit in her kitchen, and she starts tellin’ me about Litherland’s history. Did ya know it used to be a big deal for shipbuilding? I mean, I’m just a glazier, but I love hearin’ about the place I live in. Makes ya appreciate it more, y’know? After that, I’m off to me last job of the day on Stanley Road. I’m knackered, but I’m pushin’ through. I get there, and it’s a right mess. The window’s shattered, and there’s glass everywhere. I’m thinkin’, “What is it with people and windows today?” I’m cleanin’ up, and I cut me finger on a shard. Ouch! I’m bleedin’ a bit, but I just wrap it up and carry on. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, kickin’ a ball. He trips, and the ball goes straight into the window I’m fixin’. I just stand there, mouth agape. I’m like, “Are you serious?!” The kid looks at me, wide-eyed, and I can’t help but laugh. It’s just one of those days, innit? By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted but happy. Litherland’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I stroll back down Church Road, and the sun’s settin’. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I’m thinkin’ about how mad today was. I mean, who else can say they had a cat try to sabotage their work and a kid break a window in the same day? So, yeah, that was me day. Just another day in Litherland, full of surprises, laughs, and a bit of chaos. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
