Wow, what a day in Monifieth! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I roll into town, right? Monifieth, this wee gem on the east coast of Scotland. It’s got that chill vibe, but also a bit of a quirky edge. I mean, who knew a place could be so picturesque and yet so... unpredictable? First off, I’m tryin’ to find my way to the uni. I’m on High Street, and let me tell ya, it’s a maze! I’m like, “Where’s the map?” But then I spot this cute café, The Coffee House. I’m like, “Okay, I need caffeine.” I pop in, and the barista’s got this wild hairdo. I swear, it looked like a bird’s nest. But hey, she’s super friendly. I order a flat white, and she’s like, “You mean a latte?” I’m like, “Nah, mate, flat white!” So, I get my coffee, and I’m feelin’ all good. I step outside, and bam! It starts pouring. Typical Scottish weather, right? I’m dodging raindrops like I’m in some weird game of Frogger. I finally make it to the uni, soaked but alive. Now, the lecture. Oh boy. I’m supposed to talk about modern literature, but the students? They’re all over the place. One kid, Jamie, keeps asking about Harry Potter. I’m like, “Dude, this is not Hogwarts!” But then I think, “Why not?” So, I throw in some Potter references. The class lights up! Who knew? After the lecture, I’m feeling chuffed. I head down to the beach. Monifieth’s got this lovely stretch of sand. I’m walking along the shore, and it’s beautiful. The sun peeks out, and I’m like, “Is this real life?” I see some kids building sandcastles, and I’m thinking, “Man, I wanna join!” But then I remember I’m an adult. Ugh. Suddenly, I hear this commotion. A dog’s runnin’ wild, chasing seagulls. It’s hilarious! The owner’s shoutin’, “Baxter, come back!” But Baxter’s having the time of his life. I’m cracking up, and then I realize I’m standing in a puddle. My shoes are soaked again. Great. Then, I decide to grab some fish and chips. I head to The Fish Bar on the corner of Victoria Road. The smell hits me like a freight train. I order the special, and it’s massive! I’m like, “Am I supposed to eat all this?” But it’s so good. I’m munching away, and I see this old couple next to me. They’re holding hands, and I’m like, “Aww, goals!” But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! The whole place goes dark. People are freaking out, and I’m just sitting there, chips in hand, like, “This is a scene from a movie.” The staff are scrambling, and I’m thinking, “Do I get a discount for the drama?” Finally, the lights flicker back on, and everyone cheers. I finish my meal, and I’m stuffed. I waddle out, feeling like a whale. As I’m walking back, I pass by the Monifieth Library. It’s this cute little building, and I think, “I should pop in.” But then I remember I’ve got a ton of work to do. So, I keep walking, but I can’t shake the feeling that I missed out on something cool. By the time I get back to my place, I’m exhausted but happy. Monifieth’s got this charm that’s hard to explain. It’s like a mix of cozy and chaotic. I flop onto my bed, and I’m just thinking about the day. The rain, the laughter, the food, the unexpected moments. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Monifieth, you’ve got my heart racing!
