Man, what a day! I swear, being a glazier in Moodiesburn is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. You think you know what’s coming, but nah, it’s all twists and turns. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinking about the job on Main Street. A big ol’ shopfront window. Easy peasy, or so I thought. I grab my tools, head out, and boom! It’s raining cats and dogs. Typical Moodiesburn weather, eh? I mean, one minute it’s sunny, the next it’s like the sky’s having a meltdown. I’m soaked by the time I get to the job. My boots are squelching like a bloody sponge. Not a great start, but whatever, I’m a pro. So, I get to the shop, and the owner, old Mr. McGregor, is pacing like a caged lion. He’s all “Where’s my window?!” I’m like, “Chill, mate, I’m here!” But he’s stressing over some delivery that went missing. I mean, come on, it’s just glass, not the Crown Jewels! I start measuring, and then it hits me. The window’s not just cracked; it’s shattered. Like, a million tiny pieces everywhere. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” I start cleaning up, and I’m dodging shards like I’m in some twisted game of glass dodgeball. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs in. I think he’s about 10 or something. He’s got a soccer ball, and he’s like, “Can I kick it in here?” I’m like, “Mate, this ain’t a football pitch!” But he kicks it anyway, and it bounces off the wall, nearly taking my head off. I’m dodging glass and soccer balls now. What a combo! Finally, I get the old window out. I’m feeling good, right? But then I realize I forgot the new glass back at the shop. Classic me! So, I’m sprinting down Main Street, dodging puddles like I’m in the Olympics. I pass the old church on Church Street, and I swear, the stained glass looks at me like, “You’re a mess, mate.” I grab the glass, and on my way back, I see my mate, Dave, at the pub. He’s waving like a madman. I’m like, “Not now, Dave! I’m on a mission!” But he shouts, “Free pints!” Now, that’s a temptation. But I can’t. I’ve got a job to finish. Back at the shop, I finally get the new glass in. It’s looking sharp, and Mr. McGregor’s face lights up. I’m thinking, “Yes! Finally, some good vibes!” But then, just as I’m about to seal it, I hear a loud crash. I turn around, and the kid from earlier is back, this time with a skateboard. He’s just wiped out on the pavement outside. I can’t help but laugh. So, I finish up, and Mr. McGregor hands me my pay. I’m feeling chuffed, right? But then I step outside, and it’s like the heavens opened again. Rain’s pouring down, and I’m soaked for the second time today. I’m standing there, laughing at the absurdity of it all. I head home, and I can’t shake the day off. Moodiesburn, man. It’s wild. One minute you’re fixing windows, the next you’re dodging kids and rain. I love this place, even when it drives me bonkers. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another day in the life of a glazier in Moodiesburn. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
