Man, what a day in Nailsworth! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local café on Market Street. You know, the one with the best scones? Yeah, that one. I order my usual – a flat white and a scone. But guess what? They’re outta scones! Like, how do you run outta scones in Nailsworth? I mean, c’mon! I was ready to throw a fit. But I just laughed it off. I mean, it’s just a scone, right? So, I grab my coffee and head down to the Nailsworth Mill. It’s this old place, super charming, but today it was packed. I’m talking elbow-to-elbow with folks. I’m trying to get a good shot for my blog, but everyone’s in my way. I’m like, “Excuse me, can you not stand in my frame?” But they just stare at me like I’m some weirdo. Whatever, I’m used to it. Then, I decide to stroll down to the Avening Road. It’s a nice walk, but I’m not prepared for what happens next. I see this dog, right? A big ol’ golden retriever, just chilling. I’m thinking, “Aww, cute pup!” But then, it starts running towards me. I’m like, “Oh no, please don’t jump on me!” But guess what? It does. Right on my new shoes! Ugh! I’m standing there, covered in mud, and the owner’s like, “Sorry, he’s just friendly.” Yeah, well, I’m not so friendly now! After that, I’m fuming. I need a pick-me-up. So, I head to the Nailsworth Co-op. I’m browsing the aisles, trying to find something to lift my spirits. I spot some chocolate – the good stuff. I grab it, and boom! I drop it. It shatters everywhere. I’m like, “Great, just great.” The staff is super nice, though. They help me clean it up. I’m thinking, “At least someone’s having a good day.” Finally, I decide to hit up the local park, the one by the stream. It’s usually peaceful, but today? Nah. There’s a bunch of kids playing football, and they’re LOUD. I’m trying to relax, but all I hear is “Kick it!” and “Pass!” I’m like, “Can’t a person catch a break?” But then, one of the kids kicks the ball too hard, and it lands right next to me. I pick it up, and they all come running. I’m like, “You want it back? You gotta earn it!” They laugh, and I toss it back. It’s a moment, you know? As the sun starts to set, I’m walking back through the town. The lights on the High Street are twinkling, and it’s kinda magical. I stop by the old church on Church Street. It’s beautiful, and I just stand there for a sec, soaking it all in. I think about how crazy today was. From scone drama to muddy shoes to football chaos. I finally get home, and I’m exhausted. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Nailsworth, with all its quirks and surprises, is my kinda place. It’s messy, it’s loud, and it’s full of life. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
