Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in North-Berwick, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a Russian Sign Language translator. Yeah, I know, kinda niche, but I love it. Anyway, I had a gig at the North Berwick Community Centre. I’m rushing down Westgate, dodging tourists like I’m in some weird video game. People everywhere! I mean, it’s a small town, but today? Packed! So, I get to the centre, and guess what? The event’s running late. Classic. I’m standing there, tapping my foot, trying to keep my cool. I’m thinking, “C’mon, people, I’ve got signs to translate!” Finally, they start, and it’s this emotional talk about mental health. Super important stuff, but man, the speaker was all over the place. I’m trying to keep up, fingers flying, and then—BAM!—the fire alarm goes off. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” Everyone’s scrambling out, and I’m just standing there, signing like a madman. I mean, I can’t just leave, right? But then I see this lady, totally confused, looking at me like I’m some kind of wizard. I’m like, “Lady, I’m just trying to help!” Finally, we all get outside on the High Street, and it’s chaos. Fire trucks zooming in, people taking selfies with the firemen. I’m standing there, trying to explain to this poor woman what’s happening. She’s nodding, but I can tell she’s lost. I’m like, “Just follow me, we’ll figure it out!” After the drama, we finally get back inside. I’m sweating bullets, but the crowd’s pumped. They’re all like, “That was intense!” I’m thinking, “Yeah, but I’m the one who had to sign that mess!” Then, I take a break. I stroll down to the beach. North Berwick’s got this stunning coastline, right? The sea’s glistening, and I’m like, “Okay, this is nice.” I grab a fish and chips from the little shack on the beach. Best decision ever! I’m munching away, feeling all zen, when I spot a seal! A freakin’ seal! Just chillin’ on the rocks. I’m like, “Dude, you’re living the life!” But then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and tries to steal my chips! I’m flailing my arms, yelling, “Get away, you feathered thief!” People are staring, and I’m just laughing. Like, what a day, right? After my beach adventure, I head back to the community centre. The event’s wrapping up, and I’m feeling all the feels. I mean, I love what I do, but some days are just wild. I’m signing away, and I can see people connecting. It’s beautiful, really. By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted but happy. I walk back down the High Street, and it’s all lit up. North Berwick at night? Gorgeous! I stop by a little café, grab a latte, and just sit there, soaking it all in. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, chaos, and a bit of magic. North Berwick, you’ve got my heart. Even if you drive me a little nuts sometimes!
