Man, what a day! Seriously, Oswestry, you wild little town. I woke up, guitar in hand, ready to rock. The sun was shining, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be epic!” Spoiler alert: it was, but not in the way I thought. First off, I strolled down Church Street. You know, the one with that cute little café? Yeah, the one that serves the best scones. I was like, “Gotta fuel up!” So, I grabbed a coffee and a scone. But, of course, they messed up my order. I mean, how hard is it to get a flat white right? I was fuming! Like, come on, it’s not rocket science! After that caffeine disaster, I headed to the Oswestry Market. It’s always buzzing, right? Vendors shouting, people haggling. I love it! I was just vibing, strumming my guitar a bit, trying to catch some attention. Then, outta nowhere, this old bloke comes up to me. He’s like, “Oi, mate! Play ‘Wonderwall’!” I mean, really? Is that the only song people know? I laughed it off, but inside, I was like, “C’mon, give me some credit!” So, I played it. The crowd loved it. I felt like a rockstar for a hot minute. But then, this kid, probably like 10 or something, runs up and spills his drink all over my guitar! I was ready to lose it. I mean, it’s a vintage beauty! But the kid just looked up at me with those big eyes, and I couldn’t stay mad. I just laughed. “You owe me a drink, mate!” After that chaos, I decided to wander down to the Oswestry Castle. It’s such a cool spot, right? I sat on the grass, just chilling, playing some tunes. The view is sick! You can see the hills in the distance. I was feeling all philosophical, like, “Man, life is good.” But then, this group of teenagers came by, blasting music from their phone. I was like, “Dude, really? Can’t a guy have a moment of peace?” But then, they started dancing! And I couldn’t help but join in. We were all just vibing, laughing, and it turned into this spontaneous dance party. Oswestry, you sneaky little town, bringing people together like that! Later, I hit up the Cross Street for some grub. Found this little pub, The Cross Keys. Best fish and chips ever! I was chowing down, and this guy next to me starts chatting. Turns out, he’s a local musician too! We ended up jamming right there in the pub. It was wild! The whole place was clapping and singing along. I felt like I was in a movie or something. But then, just when I thought the day couldn’t get crazier, I stepped outside, and it started pouring! I mean, like, monsoon level! I dashed down the street, trying to find shelter. I ended up under this awning on Bailey Street, soaked to the bone. I was laughing at the absurdity of it all. “Only in Oswestry!” I thought. Finally, I made my way back home, guitar slung over my shoulder, drenched but happy. I thought about how a day can flip on its head. One minute you’re mad about a coffee, and the next, you’re dancing in the rain with strangers. Oswestry, you’ve got my heart. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and a bit of chaos. Just another day in the life of a guitar master in Oswestry. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
