Man, what a day! I swear, Alexander City just threw me a curveball. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, ya know? Just another day in this small town, but nope! Not today, my friend. So, I start my morning on Main Street. Grabbed my usual coffee from that little joint, Java Jive. They know me there. I’m like a regular, but today? Ugh, they messed up my order. I asked for a caramel macchiato, and they gave me a black coffee. Like, seriously? Who drinks that? I mean, I get it, some people love it, but not me. I was already cranky. Then I had a session with this kid from the high school. He’s a good kid, but man, he’s got some issues. We met at the library on Church Street. It’s a nice spot, but it was packed! I mean, who knew so many people read books? I thought they just used it for Wi-Fi. Anyway, he starts talking about his parents’ divorce, and I’m like, “Dude, I feel ya.” It’s tough. But then he drops this bomb about how he’s been skipping school. I’m like, “Bro, you can’t just bail on your future!” After that, I needed a breather. So, I hit up the park on Hilltop Drive. It’s got this nice view of the lake. I sat there, just chillin’, trying to clear my head. But then, outta nowhere, this squirrel decides to invade my personal space. Like, back off, dude! I’m not your food source! I swear, that little guy was plotting something. Then, I get a call from my buddy, Mike. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit up the diner on 3rd Street.” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” I needed some comfort food. So, I roll over there, and it’s packed! Everyone and their grandma is there. I finally snag a seat, and Mike orders the biggest burger. I’m talking, it’s like a tower of meat! I just laughed. I mean, who can eat that? But then, the waitress spills a drink all over my lap. I’m soaked! I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” But she was super apologetic, and honestly, I couldn’t stay mad. She was cute, too. So, I just laughed it off. After that, I had another session, this time with a couple. They were fighting like cats and dogs. I mean, I get it, relationships are tough, but c’mon! They were arguing about who left the lights on. I’m sitting there thinking, “Really? This is what we’re fighting about?” I had to step in and be the peacemaker. It was exhausting, but I love my job. By the time I got home, I was wiped. I plopped on my couch, and just stared at the ceiling. I thought about the day. The ups, the downs, the squirrel. It was a rollercoaster. But that’s life in Alexander City, I guess. Full of surprises, and a little bit of chaos. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in this crazy little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
