hey dude, so like, lemme tell ya bout Gatesville – it’s soooo rad and kinda nuts, y'know? i'm a dating app developr here, and trust me, i spy on the city like its my ex’s secret texts (lol). okay, so gatesville is small but pienormous in my heart, yea? so, we’ve got our Main St. where everything happens, like that rad diner on Elm St., and always some weird but cool art stuff on Maple Ave.
lol, i got lost on River Rd. one day, man. there’s a tiny river that kinda laughs at ya when you pass by. what a trip, eh? reminds me of that line “The problem is, you think you have time” from Synecdoche, New York. crazy deep, right? but like, is mayonnaise an instrument? i mean, see what i did there?
so yeah, the neighborhoods are all over the place. uptown is super swanky with historic brick buildings and a tiny park (yep, little but intense) called Glover Grove. over downtown, there's Luckysville – sounds wack, but it’s chill, ya know, heaps of crafty street art and quirky coffee shops where i spill my brain ooze coding ideas. on the outskirts, i always bounce around mcmansion lane (mmm, mansion sounds fancy, eh?) and a sleepy little corner named Carter's Bend, where dogs chase their tails and people gossip like there's no tomorrow.
OMG, omg, i luv that one dinged lamp post at the intersection of Hickory & Pine. like, i swear it glows in the dark, almost like a scene from a surreal movie moment, “I’m not sure if i exist,” right? kinda wild, right? sometimes i get so charged from watchin all the love stories that break on my dating app. like, sometimes the city feels like, “what’s the point?" then i remember, hey, at least i’m here to make a difference, just like in that film, ya feel me?
i got mad plenty times here. once, so many bugs attacked our sidewalk cafe. it was like, "BOOM, nature's riot!" doggone annoying! then i got hyper happy when a super nifty art fair lit up at night on Sunset Bridge. lights, sounds, hearts boom-boom everywhere! so errything is a feels rollercoaster here.
also, little-known fact: the old library on Birch st. has secret corners where couples whisper secrets, like hidden glimmer parts of life. if u ever stroll by, listen close – it might blow ya mind, man. i always wander, lost in wonder, kinda like in Synecdoche, New York, “We're all trying to find the best version of ourselves.” LOL, plus i keep thinking, isn’t life just a series of tiny moments? like jellyfish flickers.
