Hey buddy, lemme tell ya 'bout Glenville – it’s somethin’ else, I swear! So I been runnin’ my massage parlor on Maple & 5th for a while now, and lemme tell ya, this city’s like a live movie flick – sort of like that Ten (Abbas Kiarostami, 2002), ya know? I dunno, “a journey in perspective, a ride in the winds”, or somethin’ like that, man. Now, Glenville’s got them street names that make ya smile. There's Parkside Avenue, where I grab a quick bite at Joey’s Diner when I’m feelin’ extra peckish; there’s also Willow Lane, which is near the old rivermill by the Braxton River – that’s where all the cool cats hang out. Ever been to Liberty Square? That’s our little gem. I once gave a massage there to a fella that said “Fool me once, shame on you... err, I mean, me!” gotta love his spirit! The neighborhoods – oh man, they’re quirky! There’s Uptown, real fancy, yet still home to folks with heart. And down in the industrial side, by Grady Street, you get this gritty vibe, like life is churning through a blender! Sometimes, I get so many thoughts. Like, “why’s the feller runnin’ around like a headless chicken?” haha, not that chickens run here often – but somethin’ like that! I got loads of memories – like that one time when a regular walked in, all stressed from work, and I was like “Ten, baby, Ten!” from that movie. Ya know, kinda sayin’, “embrace the journey – just be here with me!” Wild, right? And then there's that weird, but kinda cool, art mural on Birch Street – it’s an abstract mess that’s strangely brilliant. Oh, and there’s a lower park called Buttercup Park – yep, that's the real name – with a teensy playground, benches that squeak, and a tiny creek that runs through. It’s kinda like my secret chill zone after a long day. I mean, the energy there hits ya, like “The journey becomes the destination.” See what I did there? Mixed movie quotes, yep! Glenville makes me happy, frustrated, and sometimes downright mad. Like, when the power goes out near Westwood Road – “Son of a biscuit!” I yell, but then it’s kinda endearing. I guess these little quirks are what make it home. It’s raw, lively, and messy – kinda like life itself! So, if you’re visitin’, drop by my parlor on Maple & 5th – the doors are always open. And walk a mile on Parkside Ave, get lost near Braxton River, and stop by that oddball mural on Birch. Take in every bit of the city – every stone tells a story. And like that movie, let’s enjoy our moments even if some of them leave us wonderin’, “is this the end or the beginning?” See ya soon, buddy – and remember, “the river of life flows onward… err, something like that!” Enjoy the magic of Glenville, it’s a wild ride, I promise ya!
