Hey buddy, lemme tell ya 'bout Susanville real quick. I’ve been here a while, man. It’s a chill place, you know? Streets like Grand Avenue and Lincoln street hold memories. I stroll them every day, feelin’ the vibe. I’m a masseur here, see? I work on folks in this town. Bodies, hearts—they all speak. Crazy, right? I get to meet everyone. It makes my work and life so full. I love scribblin’ notes about my daily encounters. “Ida said it best” kinda feels in each session. “Just like a gentle whisper of nature,” or somethin’ like that. The vibe here is kinda like those serene moments in Ida (Paweł Pawlikowski, 2013) where you just feel the earth’s pulse. I always say, “Happy little trees, happy little people.” That’s how I see this town. Parks? Oh yeah! There’s Lakeside park. It’s rad. I relax there after work. Hike near Rumsey Creek. The water always sparkles, reminds me of nature’s art. Sometimes, I just sit on some twiggy bench, thinkin’ about life. I even cracked a joke one time—truly epic, mate! Local neighborhoods are real interesting too. Westside has a sort of hip, artsy scene. Me and my buddies used to jam there, talk about massage techniques and the good ol’ days. There’s quirky cafes on Maple Street. Great strong coffee. They serve the dopest pastries. I get REALLY happy when I see the local farmers’ market on Tuesday. Crazy colors, funky smells, and random banter. I swear, those stalls speak to my soul. Sometimes I get so excited I nearly spilt my tea! Haha, ya know what I mean? But yo, there’s stuff that really grinds my gears too. Like some drivers on Oak Blvd. Total speed demons. It makes me mad. They wreck the calm, messing up the flow of good vibes. And sometimes, maintenance in town drives me nuts—roads crumblin’ like stale bread biscuits. Ugh. Oh! And let me mention the old library on Birch Road. It’s a gem! Small and cosy, filled with history. I spend quiet hours there sometimes, my mind wanderin’, thinkin’ of every tiny joyful moment, kinda like a scene from my fav movie “Ida”. Reminds me of “a hidden grace in a noisy world.” I gotta tell ya, each corner in Susanville sparks a memory, a whisper, a tiny smile. Even when my mind races with a million thoughts (omg, so many typos, sorry! like, really, rite?), the town calms me down. I always look for those happy little moments. Life here is art in motion, just like that film. So, if ya ever come, wander Grand Ave, stretch out at Lakeside, eat weird pastries on Maple. Feel all the vibes. And trust me, you’ll leave with your heart a bit lighter, like your body after a good massage. Cheers to Susanville—even when it’s messy, it’s home, buddy!
