Picture by 2025 Getty ImagesBy Ockert de VilliersDaniel Tschofenig came from behind to capture his maiden Four Hills Tournament title
spearheading an Austrian 1-2-3 on home snow in Bischofshofen on Monday (6 January)
Tschofenig produced a spectacular second-round jump of 140m metres for 159.0 points
That sent him from fifth to first with a combined winning score of 308.6 points
who led the Four Hills Tournament standings coming into the final leg
had one hand on the trophy after he topped both the qualification and the first round
Kraft’s final leap was delayed due to a strong headwind and the Austrian had to wait for conditions to improve
The 31-year-old was finally cleared to make his leap which fell short of the target as he only managed a 137.5m jump, earning him the third step on the podium with a combined score of 303.2. Jan Hoerl finished second both in Bischofshofen and the overall Four Hills Tournament. Kraft finished third in the overall standings.
“It is freaking unbelievable! I really don’t know what to say. The competition came and I just knew what I needed to do,” Tschofenig told the FIS.
“I really feel sorry for him (Kraft) to be honest. I would have hated to stay up there and wait the whole time. He would have deserved to win the Golden Eagle here.”
Kraft was the early leader in this season's Four Hills Tournament, after winning the first event first leg in Oberstdorf before Tschofenig deposed him in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The musical chairs at the top of the overall standings continued in Innsbruck on Saturday (4 January) where Kraft reclaimed pole position after another Austrian podium sweep, before today's final drama.

Kraft and Tschofenig (left to right) ©Reichert/NordicFocusA decade may have passed since Stefan Kraft became the last Austrian winner of the FIS Ski Jumping Four Hills Tournament
but that surprise run looks set to end on a home hill come 6 June 2025 and he could again be the man to land the prestigious prize
After three action-packed events across Oberstdorf (GER), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) and Innsbruck (AUT)
just 1.3 points separates the top three ranked athletes in the race for the ‘Golden Eagle’ trophy
After his second win in three contests Kraft has 887.1 points, with Jan Hoerl (886.5) close behind and second-leg victor Daniel Tschofenig (885.8) third
The ‘battle in Bischofshofen’ – from the Paul Ausserleitner HS142 Hill – is set to be one of the most spectacular and highly contested finales in the history of the 73-year-old competition
“The dominance of the Austrian team is really incredible,” says 2002 Olympic ski jumping champion turned commentor and analyst Martin Schmitt (GER)
really exciting for the Austrian fans in Bischofshofen."
FIS assesses the prospects of each of the top-three ranked ski jumpers and hears from the athletes themselves
Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Team Large Hill gold medalist and three-time Crystal Globe winner:
When Kraft claimed the Four Hills Tournament title back in the 2014/15 campaign
he was the sixth-straight winner from his nation
would have predicted it would take another decade before a ski jumper from one of the strongest nations in the history of the sport would top the standings again
Kraft entered this season off the back of his best-ever World Cup campaign which saw the Beijing 2022 Olympic team champion secure the Crystal Globe for the third time in his career
2024/25 had proved much tougher, with Kraft attaining just four podium finishes from the first 10 World Cup stops, before a timely return to form with victory in the opening Four Hills contest in Oberstdorf (GER)
An eighth-place finish in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) threatened to derail his bid
but fired on by over 22,000 supporters Kraft achieved a “childhood dream” by winning in Innsbruck
“I think this is one of my best competitions in terms of emotions,” said Kraft
after edging back to the top of the Four Hills standings ahead of Hoerl and Tschofenig
with just 1.3 points separating (the top-three)
I’ve never seen this before but it’s great for our sport and I think it will be thrilling days in Bischofshofen
“Maybe it’s possible that the (one who takes) most risk (will win)
but and we try to keep this spirit and belief in one another so that the best one will win.”
Schmitt was full of praise for the aggression shown by Kraft
who won last season’s Four Hills finale in Bischofshofen
and believes he has what it takes to claim another victory
“Kraft is so strong and was risking everything (in Innsbruck),” said the 10-time World medalist Schmitt
they need to have so much confidence in their setup and technique that he can be that aggressive from the take-off
but he’s doing just enough right to get just enough air under the ski to get the lift
He has the speed and also a really nice telemark landing and that gave him the advantage over his team-mates
Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Team Large Hill champion
two-time World medalist and European Games Mixed Team gold medalist:
Hoerl claimed his first individual World Cup victory in late 2021 and achieved his best World Cup season to date during the 2023/24 campaign when he attained eight podium places
including victory in the third leg of the Four Hills Tournament
He is well-placed to better that in 2024/25 having already attained seven top-three finishes, including victory in Engelberg just before Christmas and two second-place finishes in the last two events
combined with fifth in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER)
have the 26-year-old just behind Hoerl in the Four Hills ranking ahead of the finale event
“I’m really proud of the whole team and the maturity we have shown is really special,” said Hoerl
Kraft and Tschofenig) have good relationships and we had little jokes on the hill
I think Bischofshofen will be really exciting and personally I’m feeling strong.”
2023 World Team Large Hill bronze medalist
European Games champion and four-time World Junior gold medalist:
The 22-year-old may not have the senior World and Olympic Games experience of his elder countrymen
but Tschofenig is rapidly establishing himself as a strong contender to be Austria’s next superstar ski jumper
He made his senior international debut in 2018
but made significant developmental strides in 2022 by claiming individual as well as two team titles at the World Junior Championships in Zakopane (NOR)
his profile has continued to grow; claiming both individual as well as team golds during the sport’s European Games debut in 2023 and becoming a Red Bull-backed athlete
Tschofenig has occasionally struggled to replicate table-topping jumps in both rounds at a World Cup
but he is currently the most consistent performer in the field
The Austrian won the second World Cup in Engelberg (SUI) in the final event before the Four Hills commenced and since then he has placed third, first (Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) and third again
Gregor Deschwanden (SUI) is one of the most talked-about athletes of the season
because despite being 33-years-of-age he is currently enjoying the best run of form of his career
He has placed second three-times during the 2024/25 campaign and a first-ever World Cup victory could yet bring him back into Four Hills contention
given he trails third-placed Tschofenig by 22.5 points
but require all three lead Austrians to underperform
“My goal is again to make at least two great jumps for the Four Hills,” Deschwanden told FIS
“I need to hope for a really weak day of the top-three which we haven’t seen this season
but maybe that would be more of a miracle!”
“It’s super-hard to say (who is the favourite for the ‘Golden Eagle’ trophy)
but Stefan (Kraft) is always really strong in Bischofshofen
but the other two (Hoerl and Tschofenig) are jumping really well and have great technique which you see in the results

The Liebherr Group’s wheel loader production plant in Bischofshofen employs 1,200 people on a site covering 170,000 m². With its present capacity, up to 7,000 wheel loaders can be produced each year. In the medium term, the company expects demand to reach 10,000 units per year, which means that production capacity has to be expanded.
The decision was thus taken to build a state-of-the-art production facility on a spacious 200,000 m² site in Wildon. The new facility will manufacture the small wheel loader models L 504 to L 518, as well as models for the OEM partners John Deere and Claas.
The location of the new site offers many advantages that make it very attractive. In particular, the excellent rail connection and the proximity to the Cargo Centre Graz (CCG) allow efficient material supply and the dispatch of finished products. This not only optimises production processes, but also minimises environmental impact by reducing lorry transport.
In addition, Wildon offers the ideal infrastructure for future expansion. The proximity to key suppliers and the availability of skilled workers in the region are other advantages that make the location so attractive. The planned expansion will not only create new jobs but will also strengthen the local economy and contribute to regional development.
The new production site is scheduled for completion in 2029.
The 31-year-old, who won the first event in Oberstdorf (GER)
had slipped to third in the standings after placing eighth in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER)
That race had been won by team-mate and rival Daniel Tschofenig, who ultimately finished third in Innsbruck, just ahead of fellow Austrian Jan Hoerl
second and third positions in the overall Four Hills Tournament rankings
with just 1.3 points separating them ahead of the finale in Bischofshofen (AUT) 5-6 January
“I trained my whole life for this,” said Kraft after his first-ever victory in Innsbruck
“It’s a childhood dream to win in this special atmosphere and special place
“The second jump was so aggressive and one of my best ones (of his career) which makes me so happy
I had to do this in order to be strong and I neede to take the risk to beat them (Hoerl and Tschofenig)
10 years has passed since an Austrian last won the Four Hills title
with Kraft achieving that honour back in the 2014/15 season
With Gregor Deschwanden (SUI) some 22.5 points off Tschofenig in third
there is a strong likelihood the ‘Golden Eagle’ will be back in Austrian hands next week
61 athletes took to the hill in qualifying on Friday
which – as with each of the Four Hill contests – would see the ski jumpers face off in a series of duels
with five places in the second round also reserved for ‘lucky losers’ who attained a score ranking in the top of those who did not qualify automatically for the final round
the American performed well and his score of 116.6
combined with a far from perfect jump by Geiger (110.1)
saw Bickner take something of a surprise victory
Halvor Egner Granerud (NOR) was another high-ranking ski jumper to suffer an early elimination, as was 11th highest qualifier Killian Peier (SUI)
He was knocked out by Dawid Kubacki (POL)
Pius Paschke (GER)
who has won five World Cup stages so far this season
delivered a competitive 128.5m to put him seventh heading into the final round
Gregor Deschwanden (SUI) has been demonstrating some of the best form of his career this season
but he would suffer a rare blip and place 10th at the halfway stage
Johann Andre Forfang (NOR) has threatened to upset the Austrian dominance during recent World Cups and 130.5m
as is becoming something of a tradition this season
who thrilled the capacity crowd with a series of stunning jumps
Michael Hayboeck (AUT) had welcomed in the new year
by claiming just the second podium finish of his World Cup campaign
with third in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER)
It quickly became evident he would not be repeating that accomplishment in Innsbruck
but 131m in the second round helped him climb from 20th to 12th
Making the greatest progress between the first and second rounds though was another Austrian, 2022 World junior bronze medallist Markus Mueller
who had entered the third leg of the 2024/25 Four Hills contest fourth in the standings
was expected to need a jump far in excess of 130m in order to retain any realistic hopes of challenging for an overall victory
but with conditions worsening it enabled the Swiss to climb six places into fourth
Certainly out of contention was Paschke, who had entered the Four Hills as the World Cup leader and aiming to become the first German to claim the ‘Golden Eagle’ since Sven Hannawald in 2022
123.7 points in round two saw him slip down the standings and lose further ground in the race for the 2024/25 Crystal Globe
As the current yellow jersey holder Tschofenig may well be a contender for that crown later in the season
but for now his sights are firmly set on Four Hills success
128.7 points saw him confirm a top-three place
but only recorded his first World Cup victory this season during the opening Four Hills contest in Oberstdorf
His jump of 132.5m enabled the three-time World champion to take a 10-point lead with fellow Olympic team gold medal-winner Hoerl the only athlete who could deny Kraft a further win
Hoerl reached 131.5m and lower style marks ensured it would be Kraft who took the win and a lead over his Austrian colleagues heading into the final leg of the competition
The field will now take the 180km journey east to Bischofshofen for the final event of the 2024/25 Four Hills Tournament
Austria — Daniel Tschofenig has won the Four Hills ski jumping tournament decided on the final jump of the last competition in Austria
Stefan Kraft led the overall standings and was the first-round leader on Monday at Bischofshofen ahead of making the final jump of the competition

According to Suspilne Sport
saw the leaders of the Ukrainian national team start at all four stages
the participants had to reach the top 50 of the qualifying standings
Yevhen Marusiak missed out on qualifying by 0.8 points
with a flight of 118.5 meters and 110.7 points
Vitaliy Kalinichenko was ahead of his four rivals in the qualifiers with 97.7 points and 58th place after a flight of 114.5 meters
It was only the second time this season that Kalinichenko and Marusiak started at the World Cup and did not qualify for the main round: the last time it happened was on December 22 at the stage in Engelberg

first since 2017/18Polish three-time Olympic champion triumphs at Bischofshofen to clinch third career Golden Eagle trophy
Picture by 2021 Getty ImagesBy ZK GohThree-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch won his third ski jumping Four Hills Tournament in style after clinching an emphatic win at Bischofshofen in Austria, scoring 300.7 points.
It was the fourth Four Hills win by a Polish jumper in the last five years, with Japan's Kobayashi Ryoyu in 2019 the outlier.
Stoch is now joint-third all-time for most Golden Eagle trophy wins, behind only five-time winner Janne Ahonen and four-time champion Jens Weissflog.
"Everything went well, there was very good ski jumping today, this is another huge award for all the work I did, and also for the whole team," Stoch told FIS.
"I'm really thankful to the whole team for all their work and support, they have done such a good job."
Stoch went into the fourth and final event leading teammate Dawid Kubacki by 15.2 points
The two-time reigning Olympic large hill champion sailed out to a leading 139 metres and 150.9 points in his first attempt
adding more than 17 points to his lead over Kubacki
Germany's Karl Geiger moved into second in the Four Hills standings after the first jump
but Stoch's overall lead of some 30 points heading into the final jump meant the German was only jumping for an event podium
which netted him a second round score of 149.8 points and a total of 300.7 points
more than 20 clear of Bischofshofen runner-up Marius Lindvik of Norway
good enough to secure second place overall in the Four Hills
Kubacki held on to third overall from Halvor Egner Granderud by just 0.4 points
Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen set course for the future with additional production site in Wildon
LIEBHERR-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH are planning to significantly expand their production capacity by building an additional manufacturing plant for small wheel loaders in Wildon
Liebherr say this strategic decision is a response to the steadily growing wheel loader market and underlines the company's commitment to sustainable growth
The new production site is scheduled for completion in 2029
The Liebherr Group’s existing wheel loader production plant in Bischofshofen
employs 1,200 people on a site covering 170,000m2
up to 7,000 wheel loaders can be produced each year
the company expects demand to reach 10,000 units per year
which means that production capacity has to be expanded
‘Our site is beside the B159 road that runs along the Salzach valley and is hemmed in by the slope to Mitterberghütte
This makes the expansion in Wildon a logical and necessary decision to be able to meet the increasing market demand,’ said Peter Schachinger
managing director of production at the Bischofshofen plant
state-of-the-art production facility on a spacious 200,000m2 site in Wildon will manufacture Liebherr’s smaller wheel loader models
as well as models for OEM partners John Deere and Claas
The company plans to integrate state-of-the-art technologies and environmentally friendly processes at the new site
These initiatives are part of Liebherr’s sustainability strategy
which aims to reduce the environmental impact of production in the long term while increasing efficiency
The location of the new site is said to offer many advantages
particularly excellent rail connection and proximity to the Cargo Centre Graz (CCG) for efficient material supply and the dispatch of finished products
This will not only optimize production processes
but also minimize environmental impact by reducing lorry transport
Wildon offers the ideal infrastructure for future expansion
with proximity to key suppliers and the availability of skilled workers in the region being other advantages that make the location especially attractive
the Bischofshofen plant will continue to be responsible for production of Liebherr’s large and medium-sized wheel loaders
as well as steel construction for the company’s entire wheel loader range
‘Liebherr's Bischofshofen plant will remain the centre of expertise and development for all the company’s wheel loaders
The enormous potential for growth in countries such as the US
along with increasing requirements for digitalization and intelligent assistance systems
allow us to look with confidence into the future of our main plant in Bischofshofen,’ said Mr Schachinger
Liebherr plan to increase their production capacity to 10,000 wheel loaders per year and achieve a 10% share of the global market (excluding China)

Liebherr’s wheeled loaders are currently made in Bischofshofen but expansion is constrained by a river
To meet rising demand, Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen has decided to build a new factory 240km away in Wildon
Liebherr currently employs 1,200 people on a site covering 170,000 sq m in Bischofshofen
It has capacity to produce up to 7,000 wheeled loaders a year
However demand is expected to reach 10,000 units in the medium term
explained: “Our site is beside the B159 road that runs along the Salzach valley and is hemmed in by the slope to Mitterberghütte
We would only be able to expand our site by building upwards
Current projects around Bischofshofen do not have the required space and would result in a complex transport concept that would further burden traffic in the region
This makes the expansion in Wildon a logical and necessary decision in order to be able to meet the increasing market demand."
will manufacture the small wheeled loader models L 504 to L 518
as well as models for the OEM partners John Deere and Claas
Bischofshofen will continue to make large and medium-sized wheeled loaders, as well as steel construction for the entire loader range

Tickets for the 73rd Ski Jumping Four Hills Tournament are now available for all venues
The Norwegian jumped 139.5m to lead after the first round
and his second-round effort of 143.5m gave him a winning score of 313.4 as he added to previous triumphs at Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The 26-year-old was grinning before he even landed and told FIS afterwards
"I felt when I got into the in-run position
And then I managed to be a little bit cooler than in the first round
"It was such a nice take-off and I just came out and the skis came quietly and the whole thing felt just amazing
And I just started smiling because I knew what was going to happen."
"To be able to experience this in your sport is just amazing
The Four Hills is special and will forever be special
you really feel the pressure in the Four Hills
To be able to repeatedly perform jumps to the level I've done

Tour leader Stefan Kraft wins the qualification in Bischofshofen
Lying fourth after the first round in Bischofshofen, Ryoyu Kobayashi needed something special to become just the third man to complete a Four Hills Grand Slam.
He jumped out to 137.5m with near-perfect style marks giving him a day's best score of 146.0 points for a daunting total of 282.1.
His reaction and that of his brother, fellow Olympian Junshiro, suggested it might be good enough.
Next was home favourite Stefan Kraft who could only manage 131.5m
Poland's Dawid Kubacki broke the hill record with 138.0m in round one
but could not repeat those heroics as he leapt 130.0m to move above Kraft into second
That left just first-round leader Markus Eisenbichler who required something close to his previous 137.0m to claim his first individual World Cup win
But he jumped 131.5m with poor style points dropping him to fifth
joining Sven Hannawald in 2002 and Kamil Stoch 12 months ago as the only men to win all of the Four Hills events
This has been a truly outstanding breakthrough season for the 22-year-old from Hachimantai in Iwate Prefecture
Kobayashi finished seventh in the normal hill event at PyeongChang 2018 and 10th in the large hill
But he took third in the individual season opener in Wisla
Poland for his first World Cup podium finish
Finland and was victorious again 24 hours later
He kept up that fine form and went into the Four Hills as a strong favourite with four wins from seven individual contests
After a spectacular first jump of 138.5m in Oberstdorf
he just held off Eisenbichler for victory by 0.4 points
On New Year's Day at Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Kobayashi took a narrow lead over Eisenbichler into round two before winning by 1.9 points
Friday at Innsbruck was altogether more comfortable largely thanks to an opening jump of 136.5m
more than five metres further than anyone else
Now he has eight wins out of 11 this campaign and looks a class apart
Eisenbichler claimed second in the Four Hills competition with fellow German Stephan Leyhe third
But they and everyone else will have to raise their game considerably if they are to challenge Kobayashi at next month's World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol
Manfred Schützenhofer was elected as the new tour president at the annual meeting of the presidents of the tour partner clubs

Liebherr pressing ahead with phasing out fossil fuels and preparing solutions to decarbonise construction sites
The Liebherr plant in Bischofshofen celebrated two groundbreaking events: the presentation of the first large wheel loader with a hydrogen engine and the opening of the first hydrogen filling station in the state of Salzburg
At a trade event at the Liebherr plant in Bischofshofen
the world’s first large wheel loader with a hydrogen engine was recently presented to high-ranking representatives from politics and business
The event included a series of talks on the topic of alternative drives
the focus was on Liebherr’s impressive machine show
where the hydrogen wheel loader was demonstrated for the first time in practical use
the first hydrogen filling station in the state of Salzburg was inaugurated
representing an important milestone in the use of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source
„To make progress in hydrogen research
We built this filling station to further advance our goals for decarbonising construction machinery,“ says Dr.-Ing
Chief Technical Officer of Liebherr Bischofshofen
The L 566 H from Liebherr is the world’s first prototype large wheel loader with a hydrogen engine
this groundbreaking technology was identified as the optimal solution for operating large vehicles that are difficult to electrify without CO2 emissions
battery-electric solutions are often suitable
the situation is different with larger machines with an operating weight of up to 40 tons and high energy requirements
Hydrogen reciprocating piston engines prove to be ideal in this case
These hydrogen engines are manufactured at the engine plant of Liebherr’s Components product segment in Bulle (Switzerland)
They enable not only zero emissions of greenhouse gases and almost no nitrogen oxides
Another advantage is that the interfaces are comparable to those of a diesel engine – thermally and mechanically
This represents a significant step forward in the development of sustainable large-scale machinery
Another highlight of the show was a MAN truck
This shows that hydrogen technology is not only feasible in wheel loaders
but is already used in construction site trucks
As part of the development of the hydrogen wheel loader
Liebherr Bischofshofen opened its own hydrogen filling station – the first of its kind in the entire state of Salzburg
An important strategic partner in this project is Maximator Hydrogen
which is not only the manufacturer of the newly opened filling station
they are working on mobile filling facilities so that machinery can be refuelled directly at the construction sites
This is particularly important for remote construction sites and machines that are not very mobile
which ensures the supply of green hydrogen
This is important because only through emission-free production – using wind
hydroelectric or solar energy – can hydrogen play a key role as a sustainable and climate-friendly energy source
Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH is planning to significantly expand its production capacity by building an additional manufacturing plant for small wheel loaders in Wildon
This strategic decision is a response to the steadily growing wheel loader market and underlines the company's commitment to sustainable growth
The Liebherr Group's wheel loader production plant in Bischofshofen employs 1,200 people on a site covering 170,000 m²
up to 7,000 wheel loaders can be produced each year
the company expects demand to reach 10,000 units per year
"Our site is beside the B 159 road that runs along the Salzach valley and is hemmed in by the slope to Mitterberghütte
This makes the expansion in Wildon a logical and necessary decision in order to be able to meet the increasing market demand," says Peter Schachinger
Managing Director for Production at the Liebherr plant in Bischofshofen
The decision was thus taken to build a state-of-the-art production facility on a spacious 200,000 m² site in Wildon
The new facility will manufacture the small wheel loader models L 504 to L 518
The location of the new site offers many advantages that make it very attractive
the excellent rail connection and the proximity to the Cargo Centre Graz (CCG) allow efficient material supply and the dispatch of finished products
This not only optimises production processes
but also minimises environmental impact by reducing lorry transport
The proximity to key suppliers and the availability of skilled workers in the region are other advantages that make the location so attractive
The planned expansion will not only create new jobs but will also strengthen the local economy and contribute to regional development
The positive cooperation with the project participants on site had a significant effect on the decision
The Bischofshofen plant will continue to be responsible for production of large and medium-sized wheel loaders
as well as steel construction for the entire wheel loader range
Due to the increasing demand for large and medium-sized wheel loaders
and the fact that the new plant will take several years to build
good capacity utilisation can be expected in Bischofshofen
“Liebherr's Bischofshofen plant will remain the centre of expertise and development for all the company's wheel loaders
The enormous potential for growth in countries such as the USA
along with increasing requirements for digitalisation and intelligent assistance systems
allow us to look with confidence into the future of our main plant in Bischofshofen”
Employees have been involved in all of the planning at the Liebherr plant in Bischofshofen which emphasises Liebherr's commitment to being an attractive and secure employer for the region
Sustainability and environmental protection
Liebherr places great value on sustainability and environmental protection
the use of renewable energy and minimisation of emissions
These initiatives are part of Liebherr's sustainability strategy
Liebherr is pursuing ambitious aims with the planned expansion
the company plans to increase its production capacity to 10,000 wheel loaders per year and achieve a 10% share of the global market (excluding China)
These objectives are part of the long-term strategy to increase production capacity
ensure high product quality and promote innovation
Only by expanding production capacity will it be possible for the plant to achieve these goals and sustainably strengthen its position in the global construction machinery market
The planned expansion of Liebherr Bischofshofen with the new site in Wildon is a significant step in the development of the company
This step will enable Liebherr to expand its production capacity
ensure sustained product quality and achieve its long-term growth targets
it will strengthen the local economy and pursue the long-term goal of minimising the environmental impact
Liebherr is thus sending a clear signal for a sustainable and successful future

The last competition of the traditional New Year's tour will be held on January 6 in Bischofshofen
the three Austrians at the top of the standings are separated by only 1.3 points
Austrian veteran Štefan Kraft won in Innsbruck and took the lead after three races of the New Year's Tour of the Four Ski Jumps
reached his 45th victory in the World Cup with jumps of 131,5 and 132,5 meters
Although he has been jumping in Innsbruck since 2012
Kraft celebrated for the first time on that ski jump
The Austrian podium was completed by Jan Erl (134 and 132) and Danijel Čofenig (132,5 and 127,5)
Swiss Gregor Dešvanden finished in fourth place (126 and 129)
Polish Pavel Vasek was fifth (129 and 129,5)
and Norwegian Johan Andre Forfang (130 and 122) was sixth
The best Slovenian was Domen Prevc in ninth place (129 and 123,5)
This is crazy 🤯 Only 1.3 points separate Kraft, Hoerl and Tschofenig ahead of the final competition 🔥🔥🔥#fishskijumping # 4hills pic.twitter.com/2eRCGe4S1D
So at the last stop of the tour, Bischofshofen - the trophy of the most prestigious jumping competition, the Golden Eagle, will remain in Austria. The winner will be decided by the moment of inspiration of one of the three domestic jumpers.
Čofenig takes the leading position in the overall ranking of the World Cup with 856 points. Erl is second with 836, and Pius Paške is third with 826 points.
The last competition of the traditional New Year's tour will be held on January 6 in Bischofshofen.
will be delivered to longstanding customer Geiger Unternehmensgruppe
Geiger‘s Managing Partner Pius Geiger and Geiger Logistik’s Managing Director Gernot Beer travelled to Bischofshofen to pick up the anniversary wheel loader in person
produces and sells wheel loaders made by the Liebherr Group
The delivery of the 50,000th wheel loader is a particular reason to celebrate for the plant and its employees
The anniversary underlines the sustainable development of the wheel loader plant
It has continued to grow over the decades thanks to pioneering innovations
creative solutions and high standards of quality
including ongoing investment in cutting-edge infrastructure and production capacities
becoming the first man since 1999 to win the Four Hills without an event victory
Despite tricky conditions at the Austrian resort
with a mix of rain and snow catching some jumpers out and resulting in a low start gate of 13 in the first round
entering Bischofshofen 4.8 points behind the overall standings
only managed to score 129.9 in the opening round
jumping last after topping Friday's qualifying round
knew he could put distance between himself and his rival
his 137-metre jump scoring 144.1 points to extend his lead to exactly 19 points
meaning Wellinger would need to out-jump him by more than 10m in the second round before taking into account the judges' scoring
The second round saw the start gate moved up two levels to gate 15
meaning the athletes would be able to register longer distances on their second jumps
Home favourite Kraft had trailed by just 1.2 points after the opening round and a magnificent 140m second round jump saw him sneak past Kobayashi for a total of 288.9 and victory on the day
Kobayashi won the Golden Eagle by recording four second-placed finishes
a beacon of consistency behind four different winners at each of the stops this season
Ahonen was the last man to win the trophy without an event victory
When Kobayashi was asked by Eurosport afterwards if this triumph was easier than his previous two, he laughed as he replied, "I don't remember!"
He added, "Today there was too much happening, but I concentrated on my jumping and I was really satisfied."
Hartberg and LASK Linz get their 2024-25 Austrian Bundesliga campaign underway when they go head to head at the PROfertil ARENA on Saturday
Both sides go into the weekend off the back of huge wins in the OFB Cup first round
with the hosts thrashing Bischofshofen and the Die Schwarz-WeiBen claiming a 3-0 victory over Union Gurten
Hartberg could not have hoped for a better start to the 2024-25 campaign as they stormed to an 11-1 victory over amateur side Bischofshofen in the opening round of the OFB Cup last Saturday
In a 12-goal thriller at the Sportplatz Bischofshofen, new signing Patrik Mijic grabbed the headlines as he bagged three goals and set up Justin Omoregie's 15th-minute strike to inspire the visitors to an emphatic victory
Markus Schopp's men come into the new season looking to improve on their performances from last term as they missed out on a place in the Europa Conference League qualifiers after losing to Austria Wien in the playoffs
Hartberg picked nine wins and seven draws from their first 22 games to collect 34 points and end the regular season in the top half of the table
securing a spot in the Championship Round for the first time in four years
the Styria outfit won just three of their final 10 matches of the season to finish fifth in the Championship Round table before suffering a 3-1 aggregate defeat against Austria Wien in the Europa League playoffs
While Hartberg will look to kick off the season on a positive note
they will need to be at their best this weekend as they have failed to win seven of their last eight competitive home games in 2024
losing five and claiming two draws since the turn of the year
LASK cruised through the opening round of the OFB Cup as they picked up a 3-0 victory over amateur side Union Gurten at the Stadion der Stadt Ried last Friday
Valon Berisha and George Bello scored in an 11-minute spell to hand the visitors a commanding lead heading into half time before Nigerian forward Moses Usor struck in the 84th minute to put the icing on the cake
This was in keeping with their impressive run of results in pre-season
where LASK finished unbeaten in their six warm-up games
claiming three wins and three draws while scoring 15 goals and keeping two clean sheets
Thomas Darazs's men come into the new season off the back of an impressive 2023-24 campaign as they finished third in the championship round standings to secure their spot in the Europa League qualifiers for the second consecutive season
Die Schwarz-WeiBen now kick off the new league campaign against an opposing side who are unbeaten in 11 of their last 12 encounters
picking up four wins and seven draws since November 2020
New signing Mijic announced his arrival in style against Bischofshofen and the former Rogaska striker should spearhead the Hartberg attack this weekend, alongside Dominik Prokop
who made 30 league appearances last season
As for LASK, Darazs will be unable to name 25-year-old defender Andres Andrade
who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury in May
Ibrahim Mustapha is yet to feature this year after picking up a severe ankle injury last December and the Ghanaian forward is also out of contention for the visitors
They are joined on the club's injury table by Ivan Ljubic
who has been out of action since coming off with a hamstring injury against Wolfsberger back in February
Berisha was involved in two of Die Schwarz-WeiBen's three goals against Union Gurten last weekend and the former Lazio winger should retain his role in the front three, alongside Usor and Marin Ljubicic
Hartberg possible starting lineup:Sallinger; Pfeifer
LASK Linz possible starting lineup:Laval; Bello
Hartberg will head into the league opener with confidence
they are in for a tough 90 minutes against a LASK side who are unbeaten in their last four visits to the PROfertil ARENA
with the visitors coming away with a narrow victory

Huber seals Austria gold in ski jumping team competition in Bischofshofen
AdvertisementHow was your experience today
The HUB team recently visited the Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH Wheeled Loader Factory
Liebherr founded the Group's first Austrian production facility in Bischofshofen
Since then the company has grown steadily over the decades thanks to sustainable innovations
Today Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH is the center of excellence for wheel loaders of the Liebherr Group
The company from the province of Salzburg is also responsible for the sales and service of all of the Liebherr construction machines in Austria
Ticket sales for the other three events in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
"We developed a sustainable corona-concept in cooperation with the German Ski Association
to carry out the opening event in front of 2500 spectators"
chairman of the ski club in Oberstdorf and president of the local organizing committee
that there will only be seats available and the tickets must be personalized due to the strict rules and regulations in the Ski Jumping Arena in Oberstdorf
If the authorities decide that there will not be any spectators allowed in the stadium for the qualification or the competition in Oberstdorf
The organizers are also working on similar concepts for the other three 4-hills venues
"Carrying out the 4-Hills-Tournament as the winter sports highlight is the top priority
says 4-Hills president Johann Pichler from Bischofshofen
The entire circuit has to get ready for strict restrictions
"Usually we have up to the 7 000 people with accreditations at the 4-Hills-Tournament
due to the current corona pandemic this number will be reduced to a maximum of 1500 people
That's the only way we are able to apply social distancing at all venues
For the New Year's competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
the organizers are planning with short-term ticket sales
that the fans will also buy available tickets as late as in December"
The Austrian Ski Association will not make a decision if and how many tickets will be available for the two events there before mid-October
the experience shows that the spectators in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen plan on short notice."

Liebherr has restored one of the first wheel loader prototypes from the corporate group’s early years: the LSL 1500
This specimen is the oldest preserved Liebherr wheel loader in existence
Liebherr has invested about 650 working hours in the restoration of the vintage loader which is now used as an exhibition piece in the Liebherr Bischofshofen factory
27 October 2020 –“When developing wheel loaders
we deal with the latest technologies and trends on a daily basis
And this wheel loader here shows that Liebherr was getting innovative machine concepts off the ground even six decades ago,” explains Martin Gschwend
who is managing director of the Liebherr Bischofshofen plant and responsible for the worldwide distribution of Liebherr wheel loaders
he is inspecting a particular rarity: a Liebherr LSL 1500 wheel loader from the early 1960s
It is the only remaining example of a pilot series of only five machines and is the oldest preserved Liebherr wheel loader in existence
The wheel loader specialists in Bischofshofen have lovingly and fully restored this machine over recent months
The wheel loader veteran has had a very full life
After a few years at a gravel factory in the Biberach area
the machine arrived at the Fried-Sped corporate group in Ummendorf circa 1980
The LSL 1500 served the logistics specialist reliably for around 20 years
with the shovel loader already around 40 years old
Liebherr took the prototype back and preserved the now decommissioned wheel loader
this storage location was not to be the final resting place for the historic wheel loader
Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH decided to fully restore this last remaining LSL 1500
particularly in the form of rust and frost damage
The project began in the spring of 2020 at the Liebherr Bischofshofen plant
The wheel loader experts refurbished each individual part of the LSL 1500 down to the very last screw
the renovation meant much more than mere nostalgia: “Several apprentices worked on the restoration
this was a rare opportunity to observe and understand the technology of earlier times,” explains Andreas Scharler
technical skill and improvisational talent were required
the operating voltage suddenly switches from 12 to 24 volts
We first had to analyse this process correctly in order to be able to start the wheel loader successfully
It was a splendid moment when we heard the powerful six-cylinder diesel engine running for the first time,” says Scharler
invested about 650 working hours in this vintage wheel loader
Liebherr was already experimenting with wheel loaders
a type of machine still in its infancy and underdeveloped at the time
the “Elephant” and “Mammoth” models
still had to cope with increased tyre wear and modest traction
Liebherr then managed to create a reliable wheel loader prototype with the LSL 1500
weighing around ten tonnes and with 108 hp
Leibherr produced a pilot series of five units
The LSL 1500 had a rigid frame and hydraulically supported rear wheel steering which was luxurious for the time
The load transmission was achieved by a torque converter and a four-wheel drive
The new kinematics provided a dumping height of around three metres and allowed for the loading of construction site vehicles with larger side heights
an all-weather cover with sewn-in transparent windows and heating was available for the operator’s platform
Liebherr described its LSL 1500 in a data sheet as a “new design based on many years of experience in the construction of earth-moving machines”
The Pole produced jumps of 143 and 140.5 metres to comfortably outdistance his rivals and win Monday’s competition
ahead of runner-up Karl Geiger of Germany and third-placed Marius Lindvik of Norway
Kubacki captured the coveted tournament crown with an overall score of 1,131.6 points after four competitions
20.6 more than Lindvik and 23.2 points ahead of Geiger
Kubacki's victory on Monday came after the 29-year-old Polish ski jumper placed second in the third leg of this season's Four Hills Tournament in Innsbruck
On New Year’s Day, Kubacki finished third in the second stage of the tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The Pole finished third in the opening event of the 2019/2020 Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf
The Four Hills Tournament, which is part of the ski-jumping World Cup circuit
features a series of four competitions taking place in Germany and Austria every year
Poland’s triple Olympic champion Kamil Stoch won the Four Hills Tournament in 2017 and 2018
Earlier Adam Małysz took the title for Poland in 2001
Kubacki in March last year took the gold and Stoch grabbed the silver in the normal hill event at the Nordic world ski championships in Austria
Czech Michal Doležal last year took over as the head coach of the Polish men’s ski-jumping team to replace Austrian Stefan Horngacher.
The Japanese Kobayashi also celebrated in the third series of the New Year's Tour, tomorrow he defends 17,9 points for victory and the biggest trophy
Japanese Ryoju Kobayashi is the best jumper in the world! The Japanese showed it tonight in Bischofshofen in the decisive second series, when with a fantastic jump he created pressure on the leader from the first series of jumps, the Norwegian Marius Lindvik.
In the last jump of the day, the Norwegian jumped to 135,5 meters, two meters shorter than needed to win, so the great Japanese is one step away from incredible success.
He celebrated on all three ski jumps of the jubilee 70th edition of the New Year's Tour "Four Ski Jumps", so tomorrow he will have the opportunity to become the first person in history to win the most prestigious prize in this sport twice with all four victories!
According to him, only the Polish Kamil Stoh and the German Sven Hanavald managed to do it before him.
Kobayashi (137 and 137 meters with 5 points) won with 291,3 points ahead of Lindvik (4,7 and 137,5), while the third place went to the Norwegian Egner Halvor Granerud (135,5 and 13,5, 135,5).
Before the decisive series, again in Bischofshofen, since Innsbruck was absent due to the wind, Kobayashi has a 17,9 point advantage over his closest follower in the standings of the 70th tour of the "Four Ski Jumps", Marius Lindvik.
Switzerland's Simon Amann is in a stable condition, but remains in hospital, after suffering a heavy fall in the final competition of the traditional New Year's Eve Tour "Four Jumps" in Bischofshofen on Tuesday.
The four-time Olympic champion in ski jumping had a bad landing in the second series and was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state after hitting his head on the snow.
"Simon Aman suffered a serious concussion, he has a few scratches, but he didn't break anything. He will stay in the hospital for a while to fully recover from the heavy fall," the Swiss national team announced.
The overall winner of the "Four Ski Jumps" is the Austrian ski jumper Štefan Kraft, while Aman finished in 17th place.

Swiss ski jumper Simon Ammann was involved in a scary crash during his second and final jump at the 63rd Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen
The former Olympic champion landed on his skis before losing his balance and falling face first into the snow
The 33-year-old Ammann was treated by paramedics and later regained consciousness after being transported to a hospital in Salzburg
"Simon Ammann is in stable condition and conscious
he can move all parts of his body and will stay in the hospital for further examinations," the International Ski Federation wrote on Twitter
Ammann was a double Olympic champion at the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2010 Vancouver Games

Bischofshofen goalie Mirel Kahrimanovic is suddenly on the operating table instead of on the field
The personnel problems at BSK are not getting any smaller
Johann and Kuchl are the draw kings in the second Salzburg derby
Next injury shock for Western League team Bischofshofen
Goalkeeper Mirel Kahrimanovic has now been added to the list of known absentees
He felt something in his knee during the warm-up last weekend against Lauterach
"He didn't feel anything on the drive home and the next day he couldn't get up," said Thomas Schnöll
the goalkeeper was on the operating table and will not take the field for months
This means Florian Neureiter will get more playing time
"I hope that the Red Bull doctors will release Sebastian Künstner (cooperation player with Liefering)
as he was slightly injured this week." Coach Thomas Schnöll's worry lines are therefore getting bigger
it's touch and go for us," sighs the manager
FC Pinzgau - today's opponents - are also without players
