wooden house - commissioned by leading roof window specialist Velux - incorporates three floors and is located in the town of Pressbaum
The main living spaces sit on the ground floor
with cleverly elevated roof windows bringing plenty of light into the sitting room - a feat
given that the nearby mountains cast a shadow on the plot
making natural lighting with conventional windows difficult
A wooden screen provides a decorative effect in the main living area
Picture windows frame the impressive views on the top floor
The building's eco credentials include solar panels that feed electricity to the structure's grid

Sunlighthouse is one of a series of 'study' houses commissioned by Velux as part of its Model Home 2020 project
The clean-lined, wooden house incorporates three floors and is located in the town of Pressbaum, a half-hour drive from Vienna
On the top floor are bedrooms and the lower ground floor contains storage and utility rooms
the house's most prominent design feature is the striking sloped roof - the architects' response to the steep gradient of the site
the roof also includes solar panels that feed electricity to the structure's grid
Passive cooling can be achieved in the warm months and
there is a ground-source heat pump hot water system
Locations range from northern Europe to the Mediterranean
showcasing the variety of Velux applications and allowing the company to study the products in different environments
The program not only promotes great architecture but also helps create the company's neutral CO2 emissions solutions and energy efficiency development
The houses produced through the program are studied closely and then released for habitation

AXOR presents three bathroom concepts that are not merely places of function
but destinations in themselves — sanctuaries of style
This summer has seen the participation of several Badminton Malta players in international training camps at different European locations
National singles and mixed doubles title-holder Fiorella Marie Sadowski was recently in Pressbaum
where she joined 48 other players from eight other countries for training
The week-long event enabled Sadowski to obtain the latest technical and tactical badminton updates from five top-level coaches
The experience should give Sadowski that added confidence when venturing on the international stage in future
taking part in the 32nd Summer School organised by Badminton Europe
It is relevant to point out that these three players are also national title-holders in their own right
having shared between them the five singles and doubles titles in the latest edition of the Under-16 National Junior Championships
the Summer School in Vejen is actually an equally intensive week-long training camp for junior players
Conducted by ten high-performance coaches handpicked by Badminton Europe
this Danish training camp hosted 51 junior players and 19 coaches coming from 24 nations
Badminton Malta expressed its gratitude to Badminton Europe for the vital assistance and support provided
thereby enabling the successful participation of its junior players in the Summer School
Badminton Malta also ex-pressed its continued commitment to provide all its members with further similar opportunities in the future
it is relevant to point out that – despite the high ambient temperatures – badminton activity continues unabated throughout the summer months
Clubs continue with their training sessions while members sweat it out in their quest to improve their respective standard of play
even on a social (rather than competitive) basis
