these new bus services will provide efficient connectivity between key locations in Western Sydney
A new interchange will be built at Bradfield City Centre to allow passengers to easily transfer between bus and metro services
These new services will include Zero Emissions Buses (ZEBs)
smoother and more comfortable journeys for passengers
and support the NSW Government’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050
Existing depots will be upgraded to cater for the ZEBs
Transport for NSW recognise and celebrate the diversity of Aboriginal peoples and their ongoing cultures and care of Country
We pay respect to traditional custodians and Elders past and present
The 2025 season is just around the corner so EDFL Media will be previewing each club heading into Round One
we chat to Airport West coach Brent Taylor who provides some insights on their 2025 campaign
"The big focus we have discussed is ‘consistency’ and ‘raising our floor’
We had a slow start to the year last year and played some pretty good football in the back half
Our focus must be about being consistent in our performances from week to week
"It's about looking forward to embedding our game plan and really sharpening up certain aspects of our game."
"We have added some exciting young talent to our list
we think we have improved our quality and depth
We wanted to have a focus on improving the depth of the whole senior list
"We need competition for spots if we are to push forward into the five."
"I am looking forward to seeing all our new recruits
The Clarke brothers in action – they have shown some exciting moments in pre-season
The three Sydney lads have been training with VFL clubs
so I look forward to getting to see what they can do
And seeing if the players from 2024 can lift the bar again – the likes of Tyson Young
We run a pre-season competition where we have six teams (all named after a club legend) who fight it out for points
We give player votes each session and they get points for other activities
"We have a lawn bowls day coming up organised by the leadership group
We also use the first practice match to connect – this year we play Yarrawonga away
"Our goal is to be more consistent and raise our floor
Consistency and focusing on process will lead to improved outcomes."
Simon Canaqali – always goes above and beyond
There would be a few fighting for this one
I would have to say Ned Gentile or Matt Hanson
Player most likely to become a coach one day
Who’s one opposition player you’d love on your side
What match are you most looking forward to in 2025 and why
Looking forward to a big crowd down at the Nest

A new-look Airport West rode through all the emotions in 2024
The Eagles experienced the disappointment of seven consecutive losses to start the season
the elation of toppling Keilor to give themselves a strong chance of finals
before returning to disappointment after finishing sixth
was that Airport West's best footy was among the league's best with wins against Keilor
as well as a two-point loss to Pascoe Vale
With another pre-season under Brent Taylor and a playing group that should only be better connected and stronger
it's hard to see the Eagles out of the finals mix
A prototype of the new metro train for the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport line has been unveiled
providing a glimpse at what future travel will look like once fast and reliable metro services start in Greater Western Sydney
Assembled from a flat pack in a Western Sydney warehouse
the carriage is a full-scale replica that closely mimics the final product in terms of shape
The mock-up has allowed stakeholders
including transport authorities and manufacturers
to evaluate and finalise aspects of the train design like the interior lighting
and passenger information display systems. Before production commenced on the 12 new trains this week
engineers and designers utilised the prototype to ensure the layout
and ergonomics meet the intended specifications. Representatives from diverse user groups
including people with limited mobility and sensory challenges
were invited to test out the carriage and provided feedback on comfort
the upholstery design for the train seats has been confirmed
with the seating to feature a specially commissioned artwork by Western Sydney creative team BBR
with Tina Barahanos and Alexandra Byrne. The artwork called Ngurra Baduwa includes reference to Ngurra (Country) and Badu (water) running through Cumberland Plain
the region where the new 23-kilometre metro line will be located
The grey and blue patterns and colours for the general seats are reflective of the night sky
while the priority seats are yellow and tell a daytime story about meeting places around waterholes found through fields of wattle flowers
About 2,300 square metres of fabric
equivalent in length to five basketball courts
will be needed to upholster all seats in the 12 trains
the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport line will have the capacity to move up to 7,740 passengers each hour in each direction between St Marys and Bradfield via Sydney’s new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport

Six people have been arrested by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in relation to stealing motor vehicles from parking lots at Melbourne Airport over the past six months — with the incidents prompting calls for increased security by regular users of the space
frequent flyer Steven Ross booked a spot in the airport’s value car park zone before heading to New Zealand for a couple of days
Mr Ross said he had heard rumours of vehicle-related thefts in the area and as a precaution attached a steering wheel lock to deter any potential thieves
I got a call from my wife and she said the federal police had phoned her and told her that somebody had attempted to steal the car,” Mr Ross said
and then probably realised the lock was on.”
Now having to pocket the bills to fix his car
Mr Ross said it was disappointing to have something like that happen at the airport
“It affects everybody and I can’t claim insurance either,” he said
“You expect a bit more protection in a car park like that — it needs to be safer to give people peace of mind.”
An AFP spokesperson said authorities would continue to ensure safety was maintained
“The AFP takes these matters seriously and anyone who witnesses theft or suspicious behaviour is urged to contact [us],” the spokesperson said
“The AFP will continue to work with Melbourne Airport management
who have implemented enhanced security measures at airport facilities.”
A Melbourne Airport spokesperson said they were aware of some incidents and had appropriate systems in place
we work closely with Victoria Police to deter thieves and bring perpetrators to justice,” the spokesperson said
“Melbourne Airport already has thousands of CCTV cameras
boom gates at every car park exit and a permanent AFP presence
The first stage of Melbourne Airport Rail will soon be underway
Major changes to the rail network around Sunshine Station will enable a rail line to the airport and pave the way for electrification to Melton by creating a Sunshine Station Superhub
The Victorian Government will also deliver a new modern Albion Station
featuring an accessible concourse with lifts and stairs
Early works for Melbourne Airport Rail are complete
This includes the utilities relocation program involving telecommunications
Melbourne Airport Rail will connect Melbourne Airport to Victoria’s regional and metropolitan train network
Trains will run from Melbourne Airport through to Sunshine Station
then into the Metro Tunnel and the heart of the CBD
before continuing on to the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines
This project will connect people from the airport to where they need to go – be that work
home or Victoria’s key tourism destinations – via a rail service for the first time
Melbourne Airport Rail (SRL Airport) forms a key part of Suburban Rail Loop – the new orbital rail line between Cheltenham and Werribee

Transport is protecting land for the East West Rail Link in two stages
Stage 1: The section north of the Western Sydney International Airport was protected through the Aerotropolis planning package: The State Environmental Planning Policy (Precincts—Western Parkland City) 2021. The remaining corridor is still to be determined
Stage 2: This section of the corridor is located between Western Sydney International Airport near Kemps Creek and Greater Parramatta
Precise locations will be identified in alignment with future land use changes
Transport will collaborate with other government agencies during the identification process
Work is being undertaken to identify stage two
Transport is working with other government agencies to refine locations for protecting
These locations are between the Western Sydney International Airport precinct (near Kemps Creek) and Greater Parramatta
We are aware that information about future corridors can seem like plans for the short term
all Corridors projects are long term concepts
and may not take place for a number of years
There is no need for Transport to acquire land until close to the time the transport infrastructure is required
landowners can continue to live on and use their land
For more information on property acquisition, see Property Acquisitions on the Corridors home page

Brimbank council has issued an urgent call to both tiers of government to get the “west moving” by delivering on the long-promised Melbourne Airport Rail before the third airport runway takes off
Council launched its aptly named ‘Rail Before Runway’ campaign and community movement on February 18
turning the heat on the federal and state governments to fast-track the airport rail project
Despite being one of Australia’s fastest growing regions
Melbourne’s west has been “short-changed in government infrastructure funding”
“To keep up with its rapid population growth
critical infrastructure projects such as Melbourne Airport Rail and the development of the Sunshine Precinct must be delivered now.”
Melbourne Airport Rail will connect the airport to Victoria’s regional and metropolitan train network for the first time and will provide a cost-effective
and sustainable public transport alternative for all
which includes the full implementation of the Sunshine Station Masterplan and the rebuild of Albion Station
will leverage off this investment and stimulate the economy in the west through tourism
Melbourne Airport’s third runway was given the green light in 2024 and is expected to open in 2031
with passenger numbers set to rise exponentially to 83 million per year
“With the Tullamarine Freeway already congested
this spells disaster for Melbourne’s traffic
with commuters from the west doomed to spend hours in gridlock unless we get the Melbourne Airport Rail back on track now,” council’s statement reads
“A survey of 1000 Melbournian’s found that 72 per cent want to see an airport rail link and better bus services in the west before more money is spent on less critical projects.”
Mayor Thuy Dang said people of the west were tired of being left behind
with government investment continually funnelled into projects in more affluent areas that are already privileged with extensive public transport and road infrastructure
“Fast-track the Melbourne Airport Rail and Sunshine Precinct now and build the rail before the runway – it’s not just a nice-to-have
Melbourne’s west deserves better,” she said
“Despite many promises from governments over many years
there’s been next to no progress – no start dates
Community members across the west can join the movement by writing to their state and federal political leaders and calling for immediate action and investment in the west
A state government spokesperson said the Melbourne Airport Rail project was originally slated for completion by 2029
but has been pushed back by four years due to compensation-related discussions with the airport
A federal infrastructure department spokesperson said the government “remains committed” to the delivery of the project
“We are also working with the Victorian government to undertake refreshed modelling work of traffic capacity constraints on the Tullamarine Freeway
which will assist with identifying the timeline for when traffic volumes would require the Melbourne Airport Rail Link to be completed.”
The ‘Rail before Runway’ campaign follows a merits review application lodged by Brimbank council earlier this year against the federal government’s decision to grant conditional approval for the runway project
Council is awaiting the listing of the matter before the Federal Administrative Review Tribunal

The Melbourne Airport Rail Link (MARL) project has taken a big step forward today with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached between the Australian and Victorian Governments
and Australia Pacific Airports (Melbourne) Pty Ltd
The MoU means all three parties have committed to work together to commence delivery of MARL and will establish a Steering Committee led by senior officials from each organisation to progress this project.
The MoU is the next step in delivering MARL and builds on the recent decision to kick start works on rebuilding Sunshine Station
“Many Victorians have spent a lifetime hearing of a rail link to the airport
and today we are telling them that we will work together in good faith to get it done,” said Minister King
“We want to keep this project moving which is why we brought in an independent mediator
why we’ve been acting on his recommendations and why we’re investing to make it happen.
“MARL will enhance the resilience and reliability of the transport network
better connecting Melbourne’s growing population to where they live
Victorian Transport Infrastructure Minister
Gabrielle Williams said rebuilding Sunshine Station was essential to enable services to the airport and Keilor East
with the project set to untangle six kilometres of track between West Footscray and Albion to cater for freight
metro trains and 70 per cent of the V/Line network – while also paving the way for future upgrades in the west
“Melbourne Airport Rail Link is an important rail project
which will pave the way for faster and safer journeys for passengers across the state for decades to come,” said Ms Williams
“We are getting on with delivering the first stage of Melbourne Airport Rail
regional and Surburban tracks between West Footscray and Albion to make space for this important new rail link.”
Moonee Valley City Council is calling for a swift start to Airport Rail construction now that the long-awaited project has been given the go-ahead
“Moonee Valley residents and Councillors past and present have campaigned tirelessly for this investment in our local public transport network,” said Mayor
“Today’s development comes thanks to their continued advocacy
“Since Airport Rail was first announced in 2018
our community has grown and so too has demand for sustainable public transport options
Airport Rail will transform how our community gets around
especially residents in Airport West and Keilor East
who will have a train station closer to home than ever before
Victorian Government and Commonwealth for finding a way forward
we look forward to seeing construction get underway promptly,” she said

Singapore Airlines will launch direct flights to Sydney’s new airport after it opens in 2026 under a deal that commits the first overseas airline to the $5.3 billion project
Western Sydney Airport will add the Singapore flights to its existing plans for Qantas and Jetstar domestic flights
in a big win for the project as it nears 80 per cent of construction
Western Sydney International Airport is currently under construction at Badgery’s Creek
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Transport Minister Catherine King are expected to confirm the deal on Tuesday morning after months of work to gain an international flag carrier as an anchor supporter for the new airport
The commitment promises to heighten competition one day after King backed the idea of a new federal agency to stand up for passengers in disputes with airlines over cancelled flights
delayed arrivals and problems getting refunds

then they should get a refund or an equivalent service,” she said
The previous government rejected a deal with Sydney Airport eight years ago to allow the incumbent to operate the new airport
making Western Sydney Airport a federal enterprise that will compete for business
The new airport is intended to operate around-the-clock with no curfew
using 3.7-kilometre runway that can take aircraft as big as the Airbus A380

Qantas and Jetstar announced their plans for the new airport in June last year
saying they would operate five Qantas aircraft and 10 Jetstar aircraft from the new airport once flights begin from the end of 2026
That announcement only covered domestic routes
with Qantas saying the single-aisle aircraft would fly to destinations such as Melbourne
King expressed concern on Monday about competition between airports and the impact on customers
a key issue in the new aviation white paper
“I think there is tension between airports
you can only fly to that one place,” she told radio station 3AW
“That’s why bringing on Western Sydney International Airport in Sydney will really be a game changer for the busiest part of our network
Sydney Airport recorded 9.7 million passengers in the second quarter of this year
up 6.4 per cent on the same period last year and close to the levels it saw before the pandemic
Western Sydney Airport will have the capacity to handle 2.5 million passengers each quarter

The scoreboard pressure was applied immediately as the Lions kicked nine unanswered in the first quarter and would continue to extend the margin as the game progressed

you felt the Lions could pull away at any stage
They did just that kicking five goals in the third quarter while restricting the Kangaroos to just one behind
carrying a 40-point lead through to the final siren
Luke Nappi was lively in Taylors Lakes' forward half and was especially dangerous in the first half when the game was even
while Christian Petersen was consistently a likely marking option ending up with two goals
Aaron Vendramini was sublime through the midfield with Chris Vulic
as Darby Lalor was a standout in a tight defensive unit
Nathan Thomas was a strong contributor for the Kangaroos limiting Vulic at stoppage while finding his own footy
with Brandon Smith and Jackson Treweek forming a serviceable ruck combination
Taylors Lakes will next face Coburg Districts while Sunbury Kangaroos will prepare for Northern Saints
Westmeadows outlasted a valiant Hadfield outfit winning by 23 points on the back of a strong final quarter

the Hawks enjoyed three-goal efforts from Josh Trembearth and Ayden Woodward
Westy will be looking they can match with the top sides when they meet Burnside Heights again
Northern Saints continue their season resurgence with a seven-point win over Glenroy making it three wins from their last four games
It was a tale of two halves for Glenroy who couldn't buy a goal to half time kicking 2.10 to trail by 32 points
The Roys would kick 9.3 in the second half to breathe life into the contest but ultimately fell just short to a Saints outfit carrying a wave of momentum as they turn their season around
The result makes it four losses in a row by 10 points or less for Glenroy with three of those within a kick

It was an important win for the Valley who now move 12 points clear of last and eight points clear of Keilor in second last to give them security from relegation
The game was relatively close in the first half before Moonee Valley kicked away in the second half scoring three goals to none
It was a valiant effort from Keilor early on who were able to match Moonee Valley’s intensity in the first half before falling away in the second
Olivia Lacy was once again one of Keilor's best as they continue their fight to avoid relegation
Oak Park have once again won the grand final rematch defeating Aberfeldie by two goals in another thrilling encounter between the two sides
The match was close all day but Oak Park took a two-goal buffer into three quarter time and managed to keep that margin when the final siren sounded
Alex Quigley was the star for Oak Park kicking five goals in what was a huge victory in the context of Oak Park's season
it was a disappointing result but also one that had many positives and will know they're not far off returning to winning ways against the Kangaroos
Aberfeldie next play Marby Park and Oak Park take on Essendon Doutta Stars
Maribyrnong Park claimed an important win over Essendon Doutta Stars this weekend by nine points
It was a reversal of the first time these teams met this season back in Round 1 when Douttas came out on top by 54 points
The win has shown just how much Marby Park has improved since the start of the year
The game was close all day with just three points separating the sides at half time
but Marby proved to be the better team on the day holding on to a narrow lead for the rest of the match
It was a tough loss for Douttas who remain above Marby but only by percentage as the race for finals begins to heat up
Hillside recorded a huge 110-point victory over the winless Westmeadows to keep their unbeaten streak alive for another week
The Sharks have now won eight from eight as they continue to charge towards finals
It was an especially massive second half from Hillside who kicked 10 goals
Caitlin Sargent booted eight goals which brings her back to the top of the goal kicking leaderboard having scored 31 majors in just the eight games

The win boosted Burnsides' percentage up to 550 percent keeping above Greenvale in first place as the race for the minor premiership heats up
Skipper Kayla Ravanello led from the front booting six goals which took her season tally to 24
The only slight cause for concern was the Bears’ wayward kicking as they scored 25 behinds
given the margin they won’t stress over that too much
It was a tough day at the office for Keilor Park who were simply no match for Burnside Heights
The fight against relegation is on as only four points separate the bottom three teams as they all look to avoid last place
Keilor Park next face Strathmore/Pascoe Vale in an important clash
while Burnside Heights will play Airport West
Greenvale claimed another comfortable win this week defeating Strathmore/Pascoe Vale by 71 points
The win keeps Greenvale equal on points for first place
but they will need to improve their percentage if they want to take the top spot
Alisa Magri was once again impressive scoring four majors and extending her lead on the goal kicking leaderboard by taking her season tally to 31 goals
Amy Hakim was also potent upfront kicking three goals
Strathmore/Pascoe Vale started the game really well scoring three goals in the first quarter but then ran out of gas for the remaining quarters as they only scored one more goal for the rest of the game
Alexsis Ryan was their best player on the day as she scored three of their four goals
Strathmore/Pascoe Vale next face off against Keilor Park
Airport West have won an absolute thriller defeating Tullamarine by just two points
The match was close all day with Airport West taking a three-point lead into the final break
as Tullamarine were only able to cut the margin down by a single point in the final term as Airport West ran away victorious in the end
While the win all but assures Airport West of a top three finish
they would be a bit disappointed with how close the game remained
It was heartbreak for Tullamarine who will feel they lost a game they should have won
Tulla had three more scoring shots than Airport West but simply couldn’t capitalise on their chances
there were still plenty of positives to take out from the win and they will be confident they can avoid relegation now
while Airport West will play Burnside Heights

Sunbury Lions won a comfortable 58-point game against Glenroy this weekend
Sunbury Lions are right back on the winner’s board after their first loss of the season last round
dominating the game all day and never giving Glenroy a chance to get back into it
It was a hard game for Glenroy who struggled to find any momentum and have still only won one game this season
They will be hoping for better performances across the last few games of the season
while Sunbury Lions will face Coburg Districts
Sunbury Kangaroos have defeated Taylors Lakes in a thriller by four points
The Kangaroos led for the majority of the game including going into the last quarter
Despite a late fightback from Taylors Lakes

We think have done that and our list is in pretty good order
"It has been really pleasing to see some of our younger guys developing and putting pressure on for spots
and Heath Condon have all gained some valuable senior experience."

but we are confident that if we stick to our processes
You’ve inherited an exciting side left by Trent Rogers

I'm hoping my teaching background and the experience I have gained under some quality coaches can allow me to implement a program that is professional
and provide us with the opportunity to build upon last year
You’ll be challenged straight up against an Aberfeldie side looking to make amends for last year and the undefeated reigning premiers in Keilor
do you see it as an advantage testing yourself early
We have a huge amount of respect for Abers and Keilor
They have been at the very top of the competition for a long time
They are quality outfits with great coaches
We will gain some valuable learnings from taking them on early in the season
and we will review and look to improve off the back of that

we chat to Airport West coach Marcus Barclay who provides some insights on their 2024 campaign
"We've been trying to recruit quality players for the step up into Division One
but it's been incredibly difficult with the salary cap introduction as we don't pay players
We've missed out on over a dozen girls being offered money at the higher level
"So keeping the group positive and altogether has been our major focus with minimal recruits."
"There hasn't been any real standouts over the preseason – literally all the girls are excited to test themselves in Division One!"
so pushing for finals would be a huge effort."
I could say all of them take turns on that one
Don’t want to mention one girl on this one because they all share their songs pre-game
Which side are you looking forward to playing the most and why
Looking forward to playing against my old side Keilor Park in Round 1
It’s an amazing effort to get a women's team up and running so I’m rapt for them and hope they go really well
Airport West are coming off an incredibly dominant season going undefeated and taking out the flag with a healthy percentage
Their top-end talent should make them competitive and they should have a few opponents earmarked as well and truly gettable
They'll kick off their season against newcomers Keilor Park
but they'll have to wait until Round 5 for their 2022 grand final rematch against Tullamarine

Just when you think you couldn’t love Melbourne more, you find yourself at a brilliant cafe in a semi-industrial street, 10 minutes from the airport.
Better than that, the cafe has turned a plain warehouse space into a cosy, vintage-inspired hangout: wood-panelling and plants, a communal table and couches, antique appliances and cosy vibes.
Best of all, the roller-doored venue is classified as outside, so you can play peek-a-boo with your neighbour’s dachshund while waiting for your dirty rose iced latte.
Bola Bake is the brainchild of chef Pakchima “Mini” Punapaprasurt, and she runs the 40-seat cafe with her husband, Scot Nottle. Mini developed her style of Asian-inspired brunching and beverages during previous head chef gigs at popular cafes Glass Den and Garden of Eden in Coburg.
In lockdown, while everyone else was obsessing over sourdough, Mini dove deep into shokupan, the fluffy Japanese loaf that’s great for squishy thick-cut sandwiches and gorgeous springy toast.
Her food offering at Bola Bake is marvellously problematic: everything sounds so good that I experienced piercing menu anxiety about all the things I wouldn’t be able to fit in.
There’s no way I was missing the honey butter toast. This TikTok-approved treat sees whipped butter, honey and brown sugar brushed over a fat slice of bread that’s then caramelised to form a crisp crust. Shatter it and you cut into the cloud-like crumb.
Honey butter toast with creme caramel on top.Justin McManusAdvertisementBola Bake goes further, scattering the toast with cinnamon soil, then balancing a lovely-jubbly wobbly creme caramel on top. When you’ve gone this far, you might as well add cream and ice-cream, so they do. It’s an extravaganza.
I didn’t know what “blanket carbonara” meant but the words sound so comforting that I ordered it. If you could snuggle down under a doona with a plate of pasta, this would be your bedfellow. Ribbons of pasta as wide as the Tullamarine Freeway are tossed with a pecorino bechamel and bacon bits. An egg yolk lolls on top.
Blanket carbonara.Justin McManusI adored it, but I was still jealous of those people eating the other pasta: squid ink spaghetti with a sauce of mentaiko, a Japanese salted roe.
I did manage the bulgogi sando, a jaw-extending Korean-style beef sandwich with delicious pickles and a tea-marinated boiled egg to balance the sweetness.
Filter coffee, espresso and tea are all made with care, along with speciality hot and cold lattes. Next time, I’m going wild with the tiramisu, a mascarpone float over cold brew.
If you’re here with your dachshund, they’ll beg for a dognut, an appealing treat made with almond meal, honey and peanut butter. You know Bola Bake is doing things very well when I even get FOMO about the dog snacks.
Grey ice-cream exists in Melbourne. Is it awful or amazing?Good Food tasted six shades of grey ice-cream to test the idea that we eat with our eyes – and why this bizarre sweet treat exists in the first place.

With the 2023 season just around the corner
EDFL Media will be previewing each club heading into Round One
we chat to Airport West coach Trent Rogers who provides some insights on their 2023 campaign
"Our focus points have been to build on the habits and structures we have been implementing over the past couple of years in Division One
We've been preparing ourselves for the jump to Premier for some time and throughout the pre-season we have had a big focus on our work rate and conditioning output
We pride ourselves on being a committed side and club
both on and off the training track with everyone putting in a solid contribution
Our senior leaders have certainly led the way and set great examples."
only one premiership player from the senior side has requested a clearance
we've had a few decide to not play at all in 2023 though due to travel and work reasons
We've been lucky to bring in some really exciting quality in our key position slots and also through the midfield
The overall shape of the list is looking good
and we're looking forward to the challenge that Premier Division will provide."
"I feel we've got consistency across the group
contribution has been a focus point on the pre-season so far
Everyone will play a key role and many have the potential for a breakthrough year
"A couple of the young lads to watch will be new recruit Musa Hussain
as well as premiership players from 2022 Luca Muratore and Luke Sultana
Jacob Martin also returns to the club and has had an impressive pre-season."
"One focus for the year is to consolidate and prove ourselves in Premier Division
We're looking forward to giving it a good nudge while continuing to show progression as the season goes
we know what the goal is and we're committed to that long term goal
We've had a massive increase in our junior numbers
and our senior group will look to spend some quality time with the juniors and continue to build strong connections in this area."
Musa Hussain (Northern Saints) & Jacob Martin (Merrigum)
Angelos Sidhom (Wallan) & Ibrahim Taha (West Coburg)
Airport West find themselves back in the top flight after a dominant year in Division One
dropping just one game on the way to a 32-point grand final victory
The Eagles have found themselves in and out of Premier Division and will be hoping they can remain there for consecutive seasons for the first time since the mid-2010s
With solid representation of players from their junior program and a returning figure in Jacob Martin
retention has been the key for this season and will no doubt assist in building their list in years to come
there hasn't been a great deal of turnover in the list
and a strong showing at the nest could shake up the stability of the EDFL's top flight competition

Denver International Airport (DEN) is one of the busiest airports in the U.S
As the gateway to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains
the airport was designed with a distinctive roof canopy that mirrors the distant snow-capped peaks
with each airline dominating 1 of the 3 concourses
DEN consists of the Jeppesen Terminal and Concourses A
which are stacked above each other in a clear layout
Jeppesen Terminal houses check-in facilities
while the concourses are where the departure gates are based
The east and west sides of the terminal have airline check-in desks and baggage claim split between the 2 areas
There are also separate east and west side parking garages
and ground transportation services depending on which airline you are flying and its corresponding side
The main terminal has 6 floors with levels 1 through 4 mostly consisting of parking facilities
Level 6 has the upper road system for passenger drop-off
and access to a pedestrian bridge to Concourse A
and the south and north security checkpoints
Concourse A has 39 gates numbered A26 to A40
Concourse A is connected to the Jeppesen Terminal via a pedestrian bridge that offers excellent views of the airplanes as they move around the departure gates
the Automatic Guideway Transit System (AGTS
detailed later in this article) also connects Jeppesen Terminal to Concourse A
All international flights depart from Concourse A
and there are moving walkways on the pedestrian bridge and around the gates for quicker connections
Concourse B cannot be reached via any walkways
The concourse is only accessible by riding the AGTS from Jeppesen Terminal or Concourse A
Concourse B has 66 gates numbered B7 to B12
Concourse B is used exclusively by United Airlines, with 2 United Club lounges at either end of the concourse and lots of shops and restaurants
Concourse C is accessible only by riding the AGTS from Jeppesen Terminal or Concourse A
The Automatic Guideway Transit System (AGTS) is a free underground train service that runs between Jeppesen Terminal and Concourse C
The train system is within the secure area of the airport
so you must pass through a security checkpoint before you can use the service
Each concourse has its own station located on level B
with the departure gates situated on the upper levels
the AGTS is located in the main hall on level 4
and it takes around 6 minutes from the terminal to the furthest point of Concourse C
You can reach Concourse A by foot from Jeppesen Terminal through the pedestrian walkway located at the north end of the terminal
Moving walkways are stationed along the bridge
DEN has 3 security checkpoints located in the Jeppesen Terminal:
Security wait times are available on the airport’s interactive map or its security page
passengers are required to pass through immigration and customs located on level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal
There are dedicated TSA PreCheck lanes at the north and south security checkpoints
you can utilize this service for expedited security clearance
DEN has a TSA PreCheck Enrollment Center located in Jeppesen Terminal on level 5
so you can submit your application online and arrange an interview the next time you’re passing through the DEN airport
There are Global Entry kiosks at DEN for eligible passengers who have enrolled in the program
If you have submitted your application and need to arrange an interview
then DEN has a Global Entry Enrollment Center inside Jeppesen Terminal

so you can relax and grab a bite before your flight
See the range of restaurants available and their locations on the airport website
There is free Wi-Fi available throughout Denver International Airport and you can connect by selecting “DEN Airport Free WiFi” from your available connections
which is great for passengers needing to log on quickly
Charging Stations: Hundreds of charging stations are located throughout Jeppesen Terminal and the 3 concourses
Hot Tip: Not every airport has free Wi-Fi, so you may want to bring your own when not flying through DEN. Here are the best mobile Wi-Fi hotspots so you’re never disconnected
DEN has a lost and found office located in Jeppesen Terminal, on east level 1. Items lost within the public areas of the airport will be sent here for collection, and a claim can be submitted in person, online

Unfortunately, DEN ranks as one of the least kid-friendly U.S. airports as there are no children’s play areas
DEN has dedicated nursing rooms within each concourse

Facilities at this pet resort include flat-screen TVs with dog-friendly programs
DEN also has the “Canine Airport Therapy Squad” where over 100 dogs (and 1 cat) roam the airport for petting

A message from Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam:
The City of Miramar has launched a vigorous community campaign to safeguard its air and water quality and protect the environment
The city is calling upon residents in Miramar and surrounding cities to sign the petition to oppose the potential relocation of the Miami-Dade County incinerator less than a mile from its west city limits
To date over 10,300 surveys have been completed
Messam passionately voiced opposition to the incinerator’s relocation at a recent Miami-Dade Commission meeting
highlighting the potential health risks and environmental impacts
“We will steadfastly oppose and protect our community from potential harm posed by the incinerator
Miramar is dedicated to safeguarding our environment
and ensuring a sustainable future for all.”
Miramar’s position is bolstered by consultations with environmental groups and legal experts
who underscore the significant health risks posed by locating an incinerator near residential areas
Concerns have been amplified by Miramar’s assessments of similar Waste-to-Energy facilities in other municipalities and an analysis of pertinent scientific data
Mayor Messam criticized a flawed air quality report commissioned by Miami-Dade County
“The report inadequately addresses the risks to our community
We cannot compromise on public health and environmental safety
Miramar will take all necessary legal actions to prevent the incinerator’s construction at the Airport West site.”
Miramar supports relocating the incinerator to Medley
an industrialized city with existing infrastructure and necessary permits for a Waste-to-Energy plant
presents a safer option with reduced environmental and health concerns
Community engagement has been pivotal in Miramar’s efforts
a press conference and informational sessions to educate residents about the potential impacts of the incinerator and gather valuable feedback
Miramar recently launched a Spanish-language community campaign to ensure all Hispanic residents are well-informed and engaged. The petition is posted on billboards, banners marquee signs and A frames in 3 languages with QR code and site Miramarfl.gov/NOBURN
As Miramar’s opposition continues to grow
Mayor Messam and the city remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting residents and advocating for responsible development practices that prioritize community well-being
