(Supplied) Link copiedShareShare articleA man has left a trail of destruction after crashing his luxury sports car into four parked vehicles, a tree and a brick wall in the Perth suburb of Attadale. The man was driving a high-powered, black Audi R8 when he crashed into two parked cars in Kingsall Road last night. His car lost a right-front wheel, but continued down the street and hit another two vehicles, including a four-wheel drive with enough impact to make it roll onto its side. His vehicle stopped after crashing into a brick wall. Police said they believed the man was drunk, but are waiting on the outcome of a blood test to confirm it, after the driver allegedly refused a breath test. They said if the man does return a positive test, he will not be covered by insurance and will be liable for all the damage, including to his vehicle, which is believed to be worth more than $150,000. The total damage bill, which includes the other four cars and a brick garden wall, could stretch into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Jo Crew, a nurse who lives in Kingsall Road, said the car crashed into two vehicles belonging to her children, who are university students, at the front of her home. "We woke up to a huge crashing noise," she said. "We came outside and he'd cleaned up two of the cars, my two children's cars at the front. A four-wheel drive was knocked over in the multi-car crash. (Supplied) "We thought the car had taken off, until we saw that there was a wheel halfway down the road and realised he couldn't have got any further, so we kept running down the road and found him. "He [had] taken out a wall, flipped a four-wheel drive and was in the car, so I just administered first aid and called the ambulance. "He was unconscious and had a lot of blood on his face with lacerations, but he was breathing." She said the incident had left her feeling "horrible" and her family shaken. Peter Quick, who is visiting from Queensland, said his hire car was damaged in the crash. "We were in bed and we just heard a crash coming down the street and it ended up out the front," he said. "We didn't get to sleep until about 3:00am, very distressed. "I've got to go and tell the hire company now." The driver of the Audi, a 30-year-old Winthrop man, was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital. In a sequence of crashes in the affluent riverside suburb of Attadale, a luxury 'supercar' has left a 150-metre trail of destruction reminiscent of Leonardo DiCaprio's famous Wolf of Wall Street car smash scene. Police are investigating whether the driver of an Audi R8 - a car that can fetch more than $300,000 even if used - was drunk during the smash along Kingsall Road that wrote off not only the Audi, but four other parked cars. About 10.55pm, the Audi was travelling west along the quiet street when the driver lost control, WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said. It hit a parked Daewoo, pushing it into a Subaru Liberty, kept going, mounted the kerb at the Bricknell Road intersection and hit a tree, then a limestone wall. Police are investigating after the driver of an Audi ploughed into four other cars, a limestone wall and a tree in the leafy Perth suburb of Attadale on Tuesday. Credit: Graeme Powell, ABC News It then hit a parked Toyota Corolla, slamming that car into a Mitsubishi Pajero next door. The driver, a 30-year-old Winthrop man, was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital with minor injuries. Seven News reporter Rebecca Picton-King spoke to the neighbour whose wall was wrecked, who had been house-sitting for his brother and whose hire car had been one of those wrecked. She also spoke to a nurse living on the street, whose son and daughter's cars had been another two of the casualties. The nurse had run down the street and tended to the driver until the ambulance arrived. "We were just going to bed and heard an almighty crash," the nurse, Jo, told Radio 6PR. "We came running out to where my kids' cars were parked out the front on the road ... they had been completely side-swiped and we thought the car had driven off, so we were in inspecting the damage in shock. "Then we noticed a wheel 50 to 100 metres down the road, so my daughter ran down ... then found the car at the other property where it had hit the wall, taken out the hire car and flipped the four-wheel-drive. "The driver was in the driver's seat injured and semi-conscious. "He didn't say anything, he was moaning a bit and he sort of lapsed in and out of consciousness. He had a lot of cuts on his face so I was worried about his airway and breathing and maintaining his neck [position] in case of spinal injuries; and getting my husband to check if there was any petrol about the place, because by then there was a crowd gathering." She said the cars were all written off and had been towed away. Her children were both university students so it was a blow to the family. The situation with insurance was unclear at this point. Police could not confirm whether a breath test had been administered at the scene or afterwards. Investigations continue. Saran Bajaj leaves the Fremantle Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to drink-driving on Melbourne Cup Day Link copiedShareShare articleA man who left a trail of destruction after a high-speed crash in the Perth suburb of Attadale has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol was behind the wheel of a high-powered luxury sports car on the night of the Melbourne Cup last November He crashed into four cars and a wall on Kingsall Road, causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage. His lawyer, Abigail Rogers, told Fremantle Magistrates Court Bajaj was knocked unconscious when he hit the first car. After the initial impact his car lost a front wheel but it continued down the street and hit more vehicles before finally stopping when it hit a brick wall. She said an airbag that would have automatically stopped the vehicle failed to deploy and her client suffered extensive injuries including nerve damage to his hand, an injury to his right eye and an aneurism that would require surgery. She said Bajaj had been drinking on the afternoon of the crash and had intended to call an Uber to get home but did not have his phone on him. "He acknowledges his actions were improper," Ms Rogers said. "This has been a very stressful occasion for him, not only with ramifications on his physical health but also on his mental health. "He's very grateful there were no injuries caused to others." Ms Rogers said the incident would likely have an impact on Bajaj's business, particularly around liquor licensing. She also said her client intended to visit an overseas retreat to receive cognitive behavioural therapy and that financial settlements had been made with the owners of three of the four damaged cars. Magistrate Elizabeth Langdon said those settlements, along with Bajaj's early guilty plea, demonstrated his remorse. "I'm satisfied that you have taken stock of what's happened and tried as best you can to make amends," Magistrate Langdon said. Bajaj was fined $1,000 plus court costs and had his license suspended for 10 months. Saran Bajaj's black Audi crashed into multiple cars, including this white sedan, in Attadale last year.
