Shellharbour City Council will continue to work with the family to "finalise burial rights and liaise with the family's appointed funeral director for funeral arrangements that are currently incomplete" "We have been in regular contact with the family to support them through this process and will continue to do so," they said "Council is committed to delivering customer-focused bereavement services supported by our experienced staff who are dedicated to guiding families through these challenging times with care and compassion." Mr Martin contacted Shellharbour MP Anna Watson to lodge an official complaint about the government agency while dealing with the council Ms Watson says she has worked in local government for more than 30 years and had never heard of a situation as "coldhearted" during that time "It is disgraceful and whoever has cancelled this needs to be terminated," she said Ms Watson said she would refer the situation to the Minister for Local Government let alone for the funeral to be cancelled the day before," she said "We can't take that pain away now but we can go to some lengths to do something to make sure this family understands that they have a community behind them." Detectives are examining multiple bullet holes on a house and car on Clematis Crescent at Barrack Heights, in the Shellharbour area. Police say several shots were fired about 11:30pm on Thursday. Five adults inside the home escaped physical injury but NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated some of them for shock. Craig Brindle rents the property and was one of the people inside the house. He said he was not scared, but his partner and three friends were terrified. "[There were] at least nine shots and there's lots of holes through the house," he said. The staff's efforts first to try and save her meant the couple was able to "get some sort of closure" "On that last day we sat with her and talked to her telling her how much we loved her and how brave she was," she said "Tom had his guitar and played her music and sang her songs the music therapist came and joined in and took a recording of her heartbeat "She had her teddies and we put pictures up around the room and the play therapist came and took her handprints on a canvas "There was so much love and energy in that room - everyone could feel it." The little girl left a lasting impression on everyone she met due to her sweet nature her mother says.When Heidi's stats started dropping staff quickly removed leads and drains and laid her in her parents' arms "Once we were ready they took the breathing tube out and we just held her and talked to her as she took her last breaths," Ms Douch said "We told her to come back and visit us - that we'd be paying attention."
