"The accused also stated that the vehicle was a symbol of the Muslim people which motivated him to do the damage," the document states. Investigators concluded Glezos' actions were racially motivated. "He was driven to commit the crime to outline his bias perspective and to damage a vehicle which was parked outside his neighbour's house," police said. Glezos has a string of prior offences from the last decade. Almost all have been dealt with under the Mental Health Act. The offences include destroying property and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in 2006 in the Bankstown area and assaulting police in the Waverley area.
