A former BBC presenter who was convicted of stalking Jeremy Vine has joked about his crimes from behind bars
as he promotes a tour he is planning upon his release
Alex Belfield, a former BBC local radio presenter, was jailed for five years in September 2022 for stalking several broadcasters, including the Channel 5 and BBC Radio 2 presenter
His trial at Nottingham Crown Court heard he had waged a relentless campaign against his victims and subjected Mr Vine to 'an avalanche of hatred'.
He is currently serving time at HMP Fosse Way in Leicester and is set to be released from prison at the halfway point of his sentence in June 2025.
But on his website, in which he describes himself as 'a political prisoner', Belfield appears to make light of his crimes - and even has a clock counting down until his release date.
He is promoting a speaking tour for 'Voice of Reason' podcast and, in an apparent pun about his stalking first reported by Nottinghamshire Live, he has called the summer live tour 'The Convicted Talker'.
His website also claims he will be performing in pantomime in the winter of 2026, with a note below joking he will appear in 'Jack & The BeanStalker'.
A message at the top of the website reads: 'Thank you for stalking AlexBelfield.com - Officially a political prisoner since 2023.'
In addition to Mr Vine, Belfield was convicted of stalking theatre blogger Philip Dehany, BBC Radio Northampton's Bernie Keith and videographer Ben Hewis.
It comes after a video was published on Belfield's YouTube channel announcing a birthday message was to be broadcast on January 14.
The video, which was deleted on January 3, was titled 'AI Alex Belfield Birthday Message 14/1 - BBC plot to close him down exposed'.
Belfield's YouTube channel regularly featured criticism of the BBC and the former employee of the corporation claimed he was jailed for speaking out about them.
Yet this claim was rebuffed during sentencing by the judge, Mr Justice Saini, who said at the time: 'I find that the motivating factor in your communications about these complainants was not the exercise of journalistic freedom to comment on matters of public interest, but personal grudges and responses to real or apparent slights.
'I am not imposing sentences on you because you made comments about the BBC or about matters of public interest. Your sentences reflect your repeated and personal harassment of the victims and not your views on any issue of public interest.
'You are entitled to hold and express views but you are not entitled to destroy the personal lives of your victims through online harassment.'
As well as indefinite restraining orders being made in relation to the four people he was convicted of stalking, Belfield also had indefinite restraining orders imposed in relation to four women who he was cleared of stalking.
Belfield agreed to pay 'substantial' damages to Mr Vine in 2023 for making 'false allegations of dishonesty'.
During the criminal trial, Mr Vine labelled Belfield 'the Jimmy Savile of trolling'. Jurors heard he repeatedly posted or sent abusive messages, videos and emails.
Mr Vine previously launched separate civil legal action against Belfield over his 'campaign of defamation and harassment'.
Gervase de Wilde, for Mr Vine, said Belfield had made 'entirely false' allegations in nine YouTube videos and eight tweets put online between May and August 2020.
This included the false claim that Mr Vine was 'seriously and demonstrably dishonest' because he had 'publicly and repeatedly lied' about his knowledge of the circumstances in which the BBC gave him £1,000 for a memorial event for radio executive John Myers.
Mr Myers, who died in June 2019, was one of Mr Vine's 'closest friends', the court was told.
Mr de Wilde said that as well as 'publishing defamatory allegations of dishonesty and theft', Belfield also sought to obtain 'private information concerning (Mr Vine)', including the phone numbers of family and friends, 'for the purposes of publishing and disclosing that information online'.
Belfield also encouraged members of the public to contact Mr Vine during his broadcasting work and during 'his day-to-day life', the court heard.

A group of Charlottesville middle schoolers was working like a well-oiled machine last weekend at an international robotics competition
a private coeducational boarding and day school in Charlottesville
took home more hardware than their robot companions from the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology
composed of 10 seventh and eighth grade students
beat out 159 other teams in their division
to be named world champions in robotic design at the annual four-day contest
“We spent so much time making our robot the best version we could and hearing our robot won the best design
it’s such a refreshing and exciting feeling,” Abby Reed
said in a statement after claiming victory
“I’m so proud of everything we have worked for.”

In addition to receiving top honors in robot design
STAB’s Next Level team won a Core Value Award for its “cooperation and gracious professionalism” in the competition’s Encore challenge
during which the Charlottesville students worked alongside peers from Wisconsin and Croatia
The students’ winning project is currently patent-pending and previously secured first-place prizes at regional and state competitions leading up to last weekend’s world competition
“The team’s win in the design category at the World Championship is a true testament to the commitment these students have put into this project,” Robbie Munsey

— An all-volunteer local theater troupe is bringing John Randall’s family-friendly comedy Look Who’s Laughing to the Belfield Theater in May
The story follows Henry — a man everyone knows as “a big grump.” When his best friend bets that Henry can’t go a week without losing his temper
The cast includes four locals making their stage debut with the troupe
including father and daughter Denver and Memphis Tessier
who made a pact to audition only if the other did
both say they’re glad they joined the production
now I’ve got something to fall back on,” said Denver Tessier
Several cast members described Look Who’s Laughing as a relevant and enjoyable story
the overly ambitious small-town jerk who irritates Henry,” said Denver
“I play a ditzy 20-something who has all the ideas that no one likes,” said Memphis
and in the story she’s circulating a petition to abolish winter.”
Stage veteran Don Ehli described his role with a touch of mystery
hinting that while his character often seems quiet
“My character observes a lot of what’s happening and has ulterior motives,” Ehli said
“It’s the story of a dysfunctional family getting through life,” another cast member said
The cast also emphasized the connections built during rehearsals — a positive aspect of the time commitment
The group aims to bring arts experiences to Belfield and create opportunities for locals to participate
“Everyone here is local and comes from such different walks of life,” said Shelley Lenz
“These are real-life community connections.”
“I want to share the arts with my community and I want to share my friends with the world,” said director Jackie Hope
who also facilitates opportunities for creative locals
“Most of us have degrees in performance and we do this for the love of theater.”
Cast members are balancing a range of careers while rehearsing — from veterinary medicine to professional historical research — enriching the production with diverse experiences
Cat Wranglers Productions has called the Belfield Theater home ever since their inaugural show
Hope spoke warmly of the support they’ve received from theater manager Kristi Tessier during six weeks of rehearsals
regularly scheduled for Mother’s Day and Halloween
“This is such a good and supportive community.”
cast members offered heartfelt answers that reflected the power of the community built on stage
“I’m the young person adopted by the group,” said Greycee McWhorter
who recently wrote and produced her own play
“I love acting and this one is ideal — I don’t have to travel to LA or New York to audition.”
“It’s a supportive group,” said William Hansard
who attended the table reading for Look Who’s Laughing the day after wrapping up another production
Cat Wranglers is my family in North Dakota
They welcomed me when I moved here from Texas and I never miss a show if I can help it.”
I’m not sure how I would have gotten through,” Hope said
referring to the sudden death of her husband
“We were in the middle of rehearsals when he passed.”
Tickets for the three performances are $15 for adults and $10 for students
cheesecake and other treats will be served

Ex-BBC presenter Alex Belfield was sent to prison in September 2022
The BBC has given a "full and unreserved apology" for not doing enough to help staff who alleged relentless abuse by a stalker
Former BBC presenter Alex Belfield, from Nottingham, was jailed for five-and-a-half years in September 2022 after being convicted of four stalking charges against broadcasters including Channel 5 host and BBC Radio 2 DJ Jeremy Vine
the BBC issued a statement saying it cared "deeply about the welfare of its staff"
The corporation also said it had "strengthened [its] internal investigative capabilities"
In a statement, the BBC said: "People who work for the BBC are often in the public eye and under scrutiny, however, it is unacceptable for anyone to be the target of sustained abuse in the way that Rozina Breen, Elizabeth Green, Stephanie Hirst and Helen Thomas were over a number of years."
Following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Belfield was found not guilty of stalking charges in relation to the BBC's former head of north Ms Breen, ex-Radio Leeds presenters Ms Green and Ms Hirst, and the director of BBC England Ms Thomas.
However, indefinite restraining orders were made by the judge banning Belfield from contacting the women.
Mr Justice Saini said: "Each of them suffered a campaign of harassment by email and social media communications. Each of them suffered serious mental health problems arising from Mr Belfield's conduct."
Image source, PA MediaImage caption, Belfield made videos throughout his trial and posted them on YouTube
The BBC's statement went on to say: "The BBC cares deeply about the welfare of its staff and we recognise that before 2019 we simply didn't do enough for these members of staff in understanding the full impact that Alex Belfield's unacceptable behaviour had on them.
"For that we are deeply sorry and offer a full and unreserved apology.
"Abuse - particularly on social media - presents lots of challenges for employers and we all need to keep learning and implement the best practice on how we can support our staff.
"That's why the BBC has an online abuse guidance and reporting tool, which today provides all staff with information and support on how to address and combat online abuse.
"The BBC has also expanded its mental wellbeing resources and strengthened our internal investigative capabilities.
"We are significantly better equipped to manage these issues now and in the future, but we will never be complacent."
Belfield was sent to prison after a jury found him guilty of stalking BBC Radio Northampton presenter Bernard Spedding, known as Bernie Keith, and videographer Ben Hewis.
In relation to Vine and theatre blogger Philip Dehany, Belfield was convicted of two lesser offences of "simple" stalking, which does not require serious alarm or distress to be proved.
The trial heard Belfield, who ran his own YouTube channel with a large number of followers, targeted his victims over several years.
Vine described the harassment as "like an avalanche of hatred you get hit by", and "absolutely Olympic-level stalking, even for broadcasting".

Leandro Lopes Credit: Northumbria PoliceA 15-year-old schoolgirl who "organised" a fatal attack on two men has been jailed for life for murder
died after being stabbed 11 times when two masked men entered his living room
suffered multiple wounds but escaped to get help and survived
Newcastle Crown Court heard the attacks on on 27 April 2024
but were orchestrated by Kriesha Beyonce Stroud
All three denied murder and attempted murder but were convicted by a jury after a trial last month
The confrontation centred around Stroud's intention to retrieve a dog she believed had once belonged to a relative of hers but was living with Mr Belfield. At the start of the sentence hearing today (30 January)
Mr Justice Constable lifted reporting restrictions which had banned the identification of Tams
Justice Constable said the murder was: "Shocking
not just for its brutality and senselessness but because it was encouraged and carried out by three who were
The judge told Stroud: "This centred around the retrieval of a dog which you believed belonged to your half sister
following her relationship with Gary."
and Tams and were each given a life sentence
The judge warned them: "If you remain a danger you will serve longer than the minimum term and may never be released."
Prosecutor Peter Moulson KC told jurors Stroud boasted after the fatal stabbing that she had "watched it through the window" but it has now been proved the window was covered with a blind and she could not have seen in
bleeding and injured from the house in Felling
to a nearby garage to get help for himself and his father
Mr Moulson said a worker called 999 and added: "Luke Williams had staggered into the garage shouting 'help me
"A later medical examination of Mr Williams revealed he had suffered stab wounds to his left elbow
one to his lower back with underlying bone damage to the spine and one sharp force injury to his left
"He also had numerous sharp force injuries to his left hand and one on his right hand."
Mr Moulson added: "Mr Williams went on to say he had just ran from his home address after being attacked and stabbed inside that address
"Mr Williams said he was concerned for his father
who was still inside those premises when he made good his escape
He was also worried the people who had attacked him might still be present."
Police went to their home address where the attack had happened but added: "They discovered Mr Belfield
"He was covered in blood and the attending police officers noted he had sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper and lower back
Emergency services administered First Aid to Mr Belfield
A post mortem examination showed Mr Belfield had stab wounds to his head
sole of his foot and both of his upper arms
lung and liver and an injury to his thigh had damaged a major artery and vein
Mr Williams told police he and his dad had been preparing to go out when the attack happened
The court heard how he had been ahead of his father leaving their house
but when he got to the sitting room doorway he saw the two masked men
Mr Moulson said: "One approached Mr Wiliams and struck him in the face
Mr Williams said he was then stabbed in the upper arm and his left upper side
Mr Williams turned away and was stabbed in the back."
The court heard Mr Williams said he made attempts to grab the knife from the attacker while he was being stabbed
Mr Moulson added: "As the attack on Mr Williams was going on
he saw the second male repeatedly stabbing his father
Mr Williams was forced to leave his father in those premises in order to avoid being attacked further and to try and get help."
As Mr Williams ran for help he noticed Stroud outside
Mr Moulson added: "The prosecution contend her position outside the address was no accident and that she had played what we contend was a major part in orchestrating this attack
"It is the prosecution position that although she didn't enter the home of Mr Williams
the prosecution say she was part of a joint plan to cause at least really serious injury to Mr Williams and Mr Belfied and that by her organisation of this attack we contend she is just as guilty as the two men who went into the house armed in the way that they were."
grew up "without boundaries" and both witnessed and experienced violence in her past
who still denies she actively encouraged or assisted in the murder
told people herself she had "no childhood" and used cannabis as a "coping mechanism"
Mr Fitzgibbon said since Stroud has been in custody on remand
speaking very little English and was bullied
said the teen witnessed violence as a child and added: "If he had had a better and fairer start in life he is someone who could have made a life for himself."

BELFIELD — Voters in Belfield will head to the polls June 17 to decide whether to uphold or repeal a city ordinance that raised the local sales tax rate from 2 to 3 percent
which earmarked the estimated $266,839 in additional annual revenue to support local emergency services including the fire department
emergency medical services and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office
Polling will take place at the Belfield City Office located at 208 Main St
results will be certified by a city canvassing board following the election
a group of residents organized a petition campaign to recall the measure
citing a lack of clear communication ahead of the original vote and what they described as ambiguous ballot language
Petitioners met the required signature threshold in late January and presented their request to the Belfield City Council at its February 11 meeting
The council declined to repeal the ordinance outright and instead opted to send the question back to voters for a special election
“I think it needs to go back to another vote to see where it goes from there,” said Councilman Kyle Michels
who originally proposed the sales tax increase
who has defended the measure on social media
previously stated that the tax increase was necessary to address financial pressures and ensure continued support for essential city services
“After closely examining the city’s budget and understanding the financial pressures we face
it became clear that this measure is necessary for the well-being and growth of our community,” he wrote
Some local business leaders have spoken out against the tax increase
arguing that it could harm economic competitiveness
Braun and others worry that higher sales tax rates could push shoppers to neighboring communities
impacting Belfield’s already limited retail base
The city has maintained that the increase is vital to maintaining emergency response capabilities
More information about the June 17 special election can be found on the City of Belfield’s website and social media pages

Independent member for Sydney Alex Greenwich said targeting the LGBTQ community during a state election is cruel and lazy politics and accused Latham of fuelling hate
“Mark Latham is a disgusting human being and people who are considering voting for One Nation need to realise they are voting for an extremely hateful and dangerous individual who risks causing a great deal of damage to our state,” he said

It began with a simple social media post – “Oppose transphobia,” it said, “protest Mark Latham” – and ended in a small group of LGBTQ activists being pelted with stones and glass by an angry mob
The One Nation leader was to address a church-organised meeting about his concerns that the ‘trans agenda’ was eroding parental rights
so LGBTQ group Community Action for Rainbow Rights (CARR) invited its members to protest outside
about 20 members of the group had expressed interest in attending
only about 15 headed out on Tuesday night to St Michael’s Catholic Church in Belfield
a suburb wedged between Belmore and Strathfield in the city’s south-west
a screenshot of the invitation had also whipped around groups who agree with Latham’s position on religious freedom and parents’ rights
and who were angry at what they perceived as growing disrespect for their views
Members of the group Christian Lives Matter
wearing the movement’s distinctive black T-shirts
But there was no hint of the violence that would consume the street an hour later
The church-organised event was due to begin at 7.30pm and was billed as a “forum on religious freedom and parental rights”

One Nation doesn’t give in to cancel culture
If protesters try to block out people from a church
then my rights as a candidate are cancelled
“The threat was there [from the CARR protesters] to blockade the street
and the regular access the parishioners have to the church
That incited the parishioners to take action that was inappropriate
Any form of violence in a political meeting is wrong.”
Witness Nathan Azzi said the perpetrators were not from the parish but were people who “heard there was going to be a protest
so they came to ensure there was no trouble
A spokesperson for the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney said
“The people who acted violently outside St Michael’s Belfield were not members of the local parish community
the events that occurred last night do not represent who we are and must be condemned.”

But the Heart River Cougars and Hettinger-Scranton Nighthawks put on a show during their season-opener here Tuesday
April 8 to reintroduce fans to the recently refurbished Bellfield Ballfield
a delightful grass infield and a pristine scoreboard courtesy of American Legion William C
with BNSF Railway chipping in sponsorships
And the seesaw battle that ensued was worth the price of admission
with the Nighthawks plating the first run of the game on an RBI-double from the bat of Oscar Perkins that sent freshman infielder Robert Morris across the dish
The response came in the bottom of the first as the hosts notched a trio of their own as starting hurler Mason Kessel came home on an error and catcher Connor Honeyman followed that up with a 2-run single that scored Carter Corneil and Evan Walter
with Hettinger-Scranton responding with 5 runs in the top of the second
Right-fielder Gavin Parnow and senior second-baseman Chason Schumacher walked and were soon driven home on a double from Nick Dobitz to even the score at 3-apiece
and pinch-runner Alexander Evans gave the visitors a 1-run advantage as he scored on an error
The third error of the contest resulted in another run for the Nighthawks as Morris scored for the second time in the game and centerfielder Isaak Guthrie was walked home with the bases loaded before Kessel retired the final two batters of the inning on a strikeout and a flyout
Heart River wasn’t intimidated and scored a run in response at the bottom of the third frame on a walk to Carter Corneil and a rapid steal of second base
then Walter sacrificed Corneil home after he reached third on a wild-pitch
The Nighthawks continued to apply pressure in the form of a bases-loaded situation that saw Parnow hit by a pitch to score sophomore left-fielder Owen Praus
but the Cougars came bounding back in the bottom of the frame courtesy of a walk to Rawley Kessel that was followed by a Trevor Lefor single
while shortstop Brayden Buckman plated Kessel on a shot to right and with the bases loaded Heart River senior third-baseman Luke Obrigewitsch singled Buckman home to carve the lead down to 7-6
hit-by-pitch situation knotted the score at 7-7 as Brayden Kastrow took one for the team and plated Mason Kessel
Heart River took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI-groundout from Obrigewitsch that scored Corneil
who registered a one-out triple before crossing the dish
But the lead changed hands for the fourth time as HSHS scored 3 runs in the top of the final inning on a dinger from Hayden DeFoe over the left-field wall that scored Dobitz
Prause doubled home Perkins — who had walked to add to the misery — and while Honeyman scored on a wild-pitch for Heart River soon thereafter
it wasn’t enough to push past the visitors with the score ending at 10-9
the second game didn’t derive a genuine result as it was cut short due to cold temperatures
but ended at 1-0 in favor of Hettinger-Scranton in the middle of the second inning
DeFoe and Perkins all registered multi-hit outings and all three ended up with a pair of RBI-apiece
Kessel stole 2 bases and scored a pair of runs down the stretch
while Corneil managed to cross the plate 3 times in the loss
Next-up for Heart River will be a trip to Hazen on Friday
April 11 to face the Bison in another Region VIII showdown
while the Nighthawks have a regional showdown of their own on the way the same day at Washburn on the road

— The Belfield City Council addressed concerns over the city's lack of childcare
and discussed the upcoming recall election for the city’s sales tax during its March 11 meeting
City officials and local leaders raised concerns about the impact of limited childcare options on workforce retention
while law enforcement reported an increase in copper thefts and drug-related incidents across Stark County
preparations for the sales tax recall election continued
though significant new details were limited
are expected at the council’s next meeting in April
Mehrer provided an update on law enforcement activity in Belfield for February
noting that deputies logged 311 hours in the city
the sheriff’s office conducted 57 public relations stops
24 traffic stops — one of which led to an arrest — and responded to four calls about suspicious vehicles
Deputies also performed six welfare checks and 10 bar checks
Mehrer also reported a sharp increase in copper wire thefts across Stark County
warning that these incidents typically occur late at night in unoccupied industrial areas
He urged residents to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement
Mehrer highlighted a rise in illegal methamphetamine and opioid use in Stark County
He noted that law enforcement agencies across North Dakota have reported similar increases in drug-related incidents
who also serves as the location president of Choice Bank in Belfield
said the shortage of childcare facilities is restricting economic growth
making it difficult for local businesses to hire and retain employees
I can't hire anyone who has families because we can't find child care for the kids,” Leadbetter said
Councilman Kyle Michels acknowledged the problem but said the city currently lacks the funding to support a childcare facility
Leadbetter pointed out that no existing building in Belfield meets the North Dakota Century Code requirements for a licensed childcare center
State law mandates a minimum of 35 square feet of indoor space and 75 square feet of outdoor play space per child
He suggested Belfield look to the nearby town of Richardton as an example
where a new childcare facility is being built with funding from the North Dakota Regional Workforce Impact Program
the council agreed to revisit the issue at a future meeting
“I’d love to have you guys come into my office and try and figure out what it is that we can do,” Leadbetter said
Mayor Jeff Iverson reported that ongoing renovations to Memorial Hall remain on budget
with $2,000 left from the project’s original $20,000 allocation
The renovations are expected to be completed by May 1
Iverson also distributed a letter of support for Senate Bill 2097
which proposes a $5 million Rural Communities Endowment Fund to support infrastructure and economic development in towns with fewer than 1,000 residents
which had 996 residents in the 2020 census
would qualify for funding if the bill passes
No members of the public spoke at the meeting
The next Belfield City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday

The BBC has issued an apology on the handling of staff welfare in the Alex Belfied case
Belfield was jailed for five and a half years in September 2022 after being convicted of stalking charges
Today’s statement from the BBC says: “People who work for the BBC are often in the public eye and under scrutiny however
it is unacceptable for anyone to be the target of sustained abuse in the way that Rozina Breen
Stephanie Hirst and Helen Thomas were over a number of years
“The BBC cares deeply about the welfare of its staff and we recognise that before 2019 we simply didn’t do enough for these members of staff in understanding the full impact that Alex Belfield’s unacceptable behaviour had on them
For that we are deeply sorry and offer a full and unreserved apology
“Abuse – particularly on social media – presents lots of challenges for employers and we all need to keep learning and implement the best practice on how we can support our staff
That’s why the BBC has an online abuse guidance and reporting tool – which today provides all staff with information and support on how to address and combat online abuse
“The BBC has also expanded its mental wellbeing resources and strengthened our internal investigative capabilities
We are significantly better equipped to manage these issues now and in the future

SOUTHWEST NORTH DAKOTA — By the middle of the month
the area’s girls will be mostly finished with the 2024-25 regular-season schedule
but the boys still have some work to do in the meantime as Belfield came away with a home-win over the Buccaneers and Bowman County continues to impress with a win over South Heart
with the Eagles absorbing a loss to District 5 Trenton at home
Belfield was on fire from 3-point-land on Tuesday
4 and Beach was overwhelmed by defense in an 8-point third quarter that ended up costing the visitors and sent them to an 8-7 overall record
the Bantams improved to 3-3 in District 7 and stand at a game above the Bucs in a very tight division race
Belfield got off to a quick start with a 21-point first frame and pushed their advantage to a 36-31 lead at the half as senior guard Mason Kessel dropped in 14 points over the first 16 minutes of the matchup and sophomore guard Carter Corneil added 7 in the first two frames
But Beach had a perfect response through the recently impressive play of senior guard Justus Baker
who notched 17 to keep the Buccaneers close — on his way to a game-high 23 — before the visitors’ third-quarter difficulties ensued with only three field-goals to speak of and a 50-39 deficit to show for it
as Beach High scored 25 points — with sophomore standout Lucas Brown sinking 5 of his 11
Colt Ambo notching a trey and senior center Shawn Murphy adding 4 to get into double-digits with 10
and feathered their nest with a quartet of 3-pointers from freshman phenom Sutton Johnson on his way to 16 total points
while Corneil equaled that output after scoring 9 in the final eight minutes along with Kessel’s trey
Senior forward Luke Obrigewitsch did his part as well
boosting the home-team’s first-half lead and sinking a pair of shots from downtown to score 12
with junior forward Shane Stroh posting a steady night with 12 of his own
while Bowman County (9-5) will voyage to face Beach at home the same evening with both games being closely watched as the D7 standings continue to bind together
Trinity had their two-game winning streak halted with a home-loss on Tuesday to Region 4 rivals Shiloh Christian
as the Titans fell to an even 8-8 but with a 3-1 region standing to keep them in the race
2-1) pushed themselves to a 28-18 lead by the halftime buzzer as they held their hosts to a 7-point second period
but THS senior forward Nevaeh Tormaschy helped keep Trinity close with 8 first-half points
while senior forward Bella Kovash scored 4 of her double-digit and team-high 14 over the first 16 minutes
Shiloh’s Sophia Heringer had an outstanding night in response with a game-high 17 and Layla Thompson was close-behind with 16 while two other Skyhawk athletes were able to overcome junior guard Annabel Scheeler's outburst — as she busted loose with 12 of her 13 points in the second half
Tormaschy ended up equaling that total with 13 of her own
but only senior guard Elly McAvoy was close to double-digits for Trinity with 8
Facing Trenton on the road would be a tall order for any team
and the Tigers improved to 12-5 after a visit from South Heart
which now stand at 6-10 overall and have three games remaining before the season is done
the Eagles have pulled off a few surprises this term
but an 11-point performance in the first half hampered their chances
Sophomore standout Brogan Boltz scored 4 of her 10 points for the Eagles during that stretch
while Holy Stuber contributed 4 of her team-high 11 in the same timespan
only sophomore Caydence Cayko managed double-figures on a game-high 14
and while South Heart junior guard Megan Robb came close with 9 it proved to be insufficient to overcome the first-half effort from Trenton
Next-up for South Heart will be a short trip down the road to face the impressive Richardton-Taylor Raiders (13-4) on Thursday
Bowman County’s season has seen some significant ups and downs over the course of the last few months
but the ’Dawgs are on a two-game winning streak and have won three of their last four
Tuesday’s showing helped the hosts improve to 9-5 overall and they sit in second behind Glen Ullin-Hebron with a 5-1 D7 mark
while South Heart are in the middle of the table at 2-2 but have won four of their last six and are at an even 6-6 overall
The first half was a tough one for SHHS as BCHS took a commanding
Freshman guard Cansas Duffield poured in a trio of treys in the first half and ended up in double-digits with 11
while junior guard Jonah Njos sank his first of four shots from beyond the arc to help push towards a game-high 15
Senior guard Trevor Andrews also has been very reliable this season and scored a quartet of treys for 12 on the night
While sophomore sensation Garrett Bargman scored 9 of his 12 points in the final eight minutes of gametime and senior forward Codyn Ystaas joined him in the comeback effort with 12 second-half points and a team-high 14
even classmate Evan Walter’s 11 couldn’t help South Heart come back for a victory
Next-up for Bowman County will be a jaunt to the Beach on Friday
with South Heart hosting Flasher (7-7) and both impacting D7’s close race
After holding Grant Co./Mott-Regent to single-digits in the first three frames
Hettinger-Scranton benefited from another exceptional night from senior forward Blake Larson
who scored 15 of his game-high 21 in the first half to help the hosts soar to a 35-10 halftime lead
Junior guard Gavin Parnow also was solid with a third-quarter trey and 13 points down the stretch
while Aidyn Fisher converted from behind the arc to score 10 and senior guard Caden Anderson notched a pair of 3-pointers of his own to get over the 10-point threshold and score 11
7 journey to Glen Ullin-Hebron (12-2) while Grant Co./Mott-Regent will face 11-3 and non-district Central McLean at home on Thursday
Glen Ullin-Hebron was able to stay in first at 12-2
4-0 in DB/R4/D7 with a narrow road-win over New England on Tuesday
with the Bearcats posting a 34-29 lead by the halftime buzzer and outlasting the Tigers the rest of the way as Riley Schneider scored a team-high 17 and Jaxon Rolle added 15
New England’s senior standout Teddy Kirschemann was a force in the losing effort with 14 first-half points to help keep the hosts close
and Jordan Jung added a double-digit output of 16 — which included five 3-pointers — while Gage Madler came close to double-figures with 8
but the Bearcats' total-team effort proved to be the difference
7 while Glen Ullin-Hebron will be up against the Nighthawks the same evening
