Australian MSP Adisyn is exiting a data center in Perth
announced it has negotiated a surrender of its Bibra Lake data center lease
What was then DC Two launched the data center in May 2021
3MW facility after prior tenants vacated before finishing the AU$10 million (US$7.7 million) project
leaving the landlord with an almost complete
The company will exit the lease on 18 October - decommissioning and selling plant and equipment at the site - and said the move would result in approximately AU$350,000 in savings per year
Adisyn will continue to offer data center services to new and existing customers via third-party data center providers and will look to relocate all existing profitable customers to an alternative data center in Perth
where they will continue to be serviced by Adisyn
Blake Burton said: "We're delighted with the outcome of our negotiations which will allow AI1 to reduce expenses while being able to deliver capital-light data center and cyber security solutions to our customers."
it frees up time and resources to apply to strategic collaborations
where we can use our learnings from data centers to develop data center and AI-related technologies to solve current industry challenges."
Adisyn also noted that the lease surrender indemnifies the company against any potential exposure to damages in a legal dispute between the lessor of the Bibra Lake site and Cannontech Technologies
in which Adisyn is also named as a defendant
The issue is over "ownership of certain equipment located at the premises," but Adisyn will not take any further part in the dispute
offering cloud services delivered from data centers in Perth and Darwin
The company also operated a 200kW facility in Osborne Park
Last year the company changed its name and announced plans to shift away from providing data center and cloud services towards generative artificial intelligence solutions and microservices
The company previously had a modular data center business, which was sold to DComm for AU$3 million (~US$2.02m) in February 2023
Adisyn sold the VMware Cloud Assets of DC Two to local MSP Zettagrid earlier this year
Zettagrid said DC Two's cloud footprint in the Northern Territory capital of Darwin would be upgraded and become Zettagrid’s sixth Australian availability zone
In July Adisyn announced a collaboration with 2D Generation
around the development of high-performance
energy-efficient semiconductor solutions for AI and data centers
Earlier this year DXN exited the lease of its Sydney data center nine years early

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Western Australia has issued a media release today in which it ‘vehemently condemns’ the antisemitic remarks made by two Sydney nurses in a viral video
the Community says the ‘hateful comments not only violate the sanctity of human life but also fundamentally contradict the teachings.’
“The comments made by these individuals are not only filled with hate but are factually contradictory to what Islam teaches about the afterlife
Their assumption that all Jews will go to hell is entirely against Islam’s teachings
and others—whoever does good deeds—shall have no fear on the Day of Judgment [Chapter 2
and such vile remarks have no place in our faith.”
a Senior Resident Doctor at Armadale Health Service
could hold such insensitive ideas about human life
I strive every day to go above and beyond to ease their suffering
How anyone in the health sector could see their duty any differently is incomprehensible.”
We put our heart and soul into giving our patients the best chance of survival
or religion—I see a fellow human being in need
These feelings of compassion and love are further strengthened by my faith
It was deeply hurtful to hear these nurses
and we refuse to be represented by such individuals.”
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community WA in its media release ‘reiterates that Islam is a religion of peace
The actions and words of these individuals do not represent the teachings of Islam or the values upheld by Australian Muslims
We stand firmly against all forms of hatred
and mutual respect in our diverse society.’

The Dinner was a Celebration of Multiculturalism and Inclusion
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community based in Bibra Lake near Fremantle hosted its Annual Iftar Dinner last weekend
Iftar refers to the meal that Muslims eat after sunset during the annual month of Ramadan; it is the meal they eat to break their daily fast
And so approximately 300 guests from diverse backgrounds gathered at the Nasir Mosque last Sunday to take time for reflection
guests took time to explore a display which explored universal themes across faiths
as well as a reconciliation between faith and scientific enquiry
The speakers explored these themes further with a focus on fasting
All speakers talked about how fasting is common to the Abrahamic faiths as well as Hinduism
It was noted that science is now exploring how fasting is beneficial to health
especially of falafel which is a food loved by all peoples
especially those with roots in the Middle East
The speakers at the Iftar Dinner included local Federal Fremantle MP

former Chief Rabbi at The Perth Hebrew Congregation
Father Giancarlo from St Patrick’s Basilica Fremantle

From Clean Up Australia Day to interfaith dialogue
We are grateful to all of you for accepting our invitation
your presence here multiplies the joy of breaking fast together.’ Mr Anjum Qaisrani
‘Relecting on today’s event; as someone who has not often experienced fasting
I took some time to learn about its significance
I was struck by the discipline it requires
and the empathy it cultivates for those who face hardship
These are values that resonate across cultures and faiths
and we are enriched by immersing ourselves in them.’ Mayor Logan Howlett
‘The Quran and Torah both teach that God’s rainbow—a tapestry of colors side by side—symbolizes our diversity
for organizing this ‘beautiful rainbow’ of fellowship.’ Rabbi David Freilich
‘Faith communities like yours anchor our society in compassion
Fasting teaches discipline and gratitude—values we all cherish
The Ahmadiyya Muslim community exemplifies peace and service—tonight’s meal and warmth are a testament to their dedication
Sharing Iftar here fills me with peace and hope.’ Josh Wilson MP
‘Fasting is not deprivation but a path to solidarity
The Ahmadiyya Muslim community’s hospitality tonight reflects this spirit of charity and humility.’ Father Giancarlo
my Muslim neighbours taught me Ramadan’s true spirit—kindness and community… The Ahmadiyya Muslim community’s dedication to interfaith harmony uplifts us all
Their volunteerism—hosting events like this
feeding the hungry—strengthens our social fabric
Hatred for None’ is not just a motto; it’s a way of life they embody.’ Sook-Yi Lee MLA
those from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were intoned to prayer at which point guests broke their fast with dates and water
all shared a delicious three-course meal featuring Goat Karahi (a tender slow-cooked goat in a fragrant tomato-ginger gravy)
and a Chickpea Curry (a vegan-friendly staple infused with aromatic spices)
accompanied by saffron-infused spiced rice
The meal concluded with a mouth-watering custard trifle layered with sponge cake
Attending the Iftar Dinner was a reminder that although the world seems more complex and demanding than ever before
it was a moment to pause and ‘to reflect on how we can be better – as individuals and as a community’
the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community WA welcomes visitors to attend and listen to Friday prayers at the Nasir Mosque
and afterwards to meet Muslims and enjoy refreshments

Many towns in Western Australia are quiet and laid back — and feature unmatched access to outdoor adventure venues
consider that Western Australia features some of the best beaches in the country
You can pick a nice suburb that is close to Perth (such as Murdoch) or venture out to beautiful
Read on to discover the nine best places to retire in Western Australia
One of the most exciting aspects about retiring in Murdoch is its location

37% of Murdoch residents are aged 60 and above
homes in Murdoch sell for a median price of $1,200,000

which is loved for its manicured fairways and well-maintained greens
Mandurah residents aged 60 and above comprise 32.2% of its population
a distance that typically takes an equal number of minutes to drive
With its proximity to Perth — as well as its rail links and the 72-kilometer-long Kwinana freeway
the nearby Rockingham General is well-resourced and has provided excellent medical services in the region for nearly 50 years
meaning it is ideal for retirees who see themselves as young at heart
Residents aged 60 and above comprise 7.7% of the population
Another good thing is that Wellard is not overly expensive
The median property price for houses in 2024 was $665,000
where one can enjoy an evening walk and view acacias; the beach is 10 minutes to the west — while Lake Cooloongup is also just a blink away
Boasting some of the finest beaches in Australia
Albany is easily among the best places to retire
This is especially true if a retiree wants to enjoy sand that is so white and fine — it squeaks when you walk on it
One of the town's most interesting spots is the Whaling Museum
you will enjoy wandering through an extensive space filled with authentic whaling artifacts and memorabilia
what follows is a relaxing view from the café overlooking one of the region’s most picturesque bays
You also have the Torndirrup National Park — with its jaw-dropping lookouts and cliffs — the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre for a soothing sauna bath
and Mount Melville Lookout Tower for some beautiful views of Port Albany
Keep in mind that the median selling price for houses in 2024 was $830,000
a price point that comes with doorstep access to the Albany Health Campus
the largest public health construction project in regional Western Australia
with those 60 and above comprising 30.6% of its population
Donnybrook is in a fresh-produce region — so prep your taste buds appropriately
Donnybrook is the 'apple capital' of Western Australia
which could be Ferguson Valley's best-kept secret
Donnybrook is surrounded by several forests
including Boyanup State Forest — you will love wandering through its tall Karri trees — Jarrahwood State Forest
and the 17,000-hectare Wellington State Forest
a retiree here has access to Donnybrook Hospital
a long-running establishment that has been providing medical services to the area for over 70 years
Donnybrook residents have a median age of 46
with those aged 60 and above comprising 32.5% of the population
could be one of Donnybrook’s most appealing aspects: It is enticingly affordable
especially considering that the median selling price for houses in 2024 was just $535,000
Fremantle will strike any would-be resident as livable
it boasts fantastic access to public transport services —and is only half an hour's drive from Perth — meaning awesome access to big-city amenities
Keep in mind that Fremantle — or simply Freo — is almost always full of life
is reputed to be Western Australia's premier market
pleasure spots to keep one busy here include the iconic Swan River
several white-sand beaches (check out the aptly named Bathers Beach)
the foremost maritime archaeology museum in the Southern Hemisphere
The median price for houses in Fremantle for 2024 was $1,280,000
most will view this as good value for money
Fremantle's residents have a median age of 42
those aged 60 and above comprise 26.6% of the population
If your ideal retirement venue is some laid-back spot with a river
then start looking for property in Bridgetown
you will have access to the Blackwood River (it is the largest in the South West region)
a fun spot for mingling with white-faced herons
which features a nice 18-hole course with excellent fairways
whose history goes back more than 100 years — just in case you feel under the weather
The median age of residents in the Bridgetown-Greenbushes area is 51
meaning you will not feel woefully out of place
Residents aged 60 and above comprise 36.7% of the population
houses in Bridgetown sold for a median price of approximately $580,000 in 2024
Do not do a reconnaissance tour of Yallingup because chances are you will not want to travel back
brace yourself for heart-stirring ocean sunsets
You will want to come here every single day
From Cape Naturaliste Vineyard to Windows Estate
There are good hospitals in Margaret River and Dunsborough
since Yallingup residents have a median age of 48
it is easy for a retiree to fit in and find a social support network
residents aged 60 and above comprise 30.5% of the population
although Real Estate does not provide median prices for houses in Yallingup
other sites show that it is upwards of $1 Million
but if you want a place with a higher quality of life
there is so much to enjoy here — so much to always look forward to
you will want to sip a delicious Chardonnay at the Stella Bella Wines or head to Walsh & Sons for a reasonably priced range that resonates with a variety of palates
There is the Margaret River Farmers Market
where local vendors peddle fresh produce; Keenan State Forest
famous for its historic brick mill; and Wooditjup National Park
which is traversed by scenic mountain bike trails
Margaret River is specifically designed for you
If concerned about healthcare access — as every empty nester should — the highly rated Margaret River Hospital has a history that goes back to the 1920s
That means about 100 years of excellent service delivery
with those aged 60 and above comprising 20.3% of the population
there is little chance for an empty nester to feel out of place
houses in Margaret River sold for a median price of $784,000
If you want to enjoy spectacular sunset views, walk through dancing wildflowers, and explore some of the best beaches in Australia — consider retiring in Western Australia
but if you are looking for a more relaxed retirement life and are an avid fan of the outdoors

The carcasses of at least 96 southwestern snake-necked turtles (Chelodina oblonga)
have been found at Bibra Lake in a devastating hit to the local population
The remains, most with legs and/or heads missing, were discovered by Turtle Tracker volunteers over the past week. The volunteers usually monitor and protect nesting females and their eggs as part of the Saving Our Snake- Necked Turtle (SOSNT) project
the loss of almost 100 turtles from the population will have a major impact on the future survival of the species in Bibra Lake," Dr Santoro said
“It highlights the very real impacts that climate change and feral predators are having on native species
“This is likely not going to be an isolated event
and is probably happening at a wetland near you
and will very likely happen more in the future as we continue to dry.”
Environmental Education Officer Vicky Hartill said there had been increased fox activity at City-managed reserves due to optimal hunting conditions in drying lakes caused by record low rainfall
and the City had implemented a number of measures in response to the recent turtle deaths
including extending the length of the autumn fox-trapping period
“As global temperatures rise and our planet becomes drier in some parts as rainfall rates decline
the City is working hard to anticipate and meet the changing needs of the local environment,” Mrs Hartill said
“The City has extended the length of the autumn fox trapping period in City-managed reserves this April due to observations of increased fox activity caused by optimal hunting conditions in drying lakes as a result of record low rainfall
“We have also continued to complete coordinated feral animal programs targeting foxes and cats to reduce predation on native species
“This is done in collaboration with other major land managers such as the DBCA and neighbouring local governments to time feral animal control to reduce the number of safe places for foxes
and is prepared to continue with its concerted efforts over many years to help local turtle populations recover.”
“It emphasises the importance of the SOSNT project and the dedication of the volunteer Turtle Trackers - five years ago
it is likely we wouldn’t have understood the impact of this predation and climate change combo event on the local population,” he said
“It’s thanks to the City of Cockburn being a leader in supporting turtle research and partnering in the formation of Turtle Trackers and SOSNT that we now have hundreds of trained volunteers across 21 Local Government areas gathering essential data on the status of this important freshwater species."
Mrs Hartill said the local community can help by:
Learn more about the Saving Our Snake-Necked Turtle project and how to get involved
Please make sure that the turtle is actually injured or needs help before you intervene
Injured or dead turtles can be taken to WA Wildlife at 72 Hope Road, Bibra Lake (telephone 9417 7105)
and provide valuable information to researchers and environmental managers

Remains of old lavatories and shower blocks can be found at the site of the camp in Bibra Lake
Link copiedShareShare articleThe City Of Cockburn is attempting to block construction of the controversial Roe 8 Highway on heritage grounds
to protect the ruins of an Australian Women's Army Service camp
The camp was established at Bibra Lake in Perth's south in 1941 and is believed to have once been home to 200 women who were posted to searchlight operations and gun stations around the city during World War II
The buildings at the camp were removed shortly after the war ended
City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett said it was enough to warrant the site being placed on the local government heritage list
"It's created huge interest in the community
and people have come forward whose mothers were at the camp," he said
"I think it's going to create a whole area of interest for researchers and people who have interest in the Australian Women's Army Service contributions in the Second World War."
Old aerial photographs show a significant size of the camp compared to the remnant remains
"Review of very early aerial photographs of the locality indicate the camp was much larger than we first envisioned it to be," he said.
"Although it's about 170 metres away, it could have possibly extended into the Roe Highway road reserve itself.
"Old aerial photographs show a significant size of the camp compared to the remnant remains."
The women at the Bibra Lake camp were believed to have been largely placed in non-combative roles, but as more men went to war, they were trained in firing .303 rifles and identifying enemy aircraft.
It was dismantled in October 1945 and the relics now form part of Beeliar Regional Park.
Mr Howlett said the area had strong historical ties with the military, with another camp set up on land now occupied by Adventure World.
"Before the quarrying took place there, it was one of the higher areas of land in the district," he said.
"We've now discovered there was a site based there with a searchlight, and there were a small contingent of soldiers that were stationed there."
The council could appeal to the Heritage Council of WA to get the site listed on the State Heritage Register, Mr Howlett added.
"That could be something the council would consider once the next stage of the review has taken place," he said.
"I'm aware that some long standing residents in Cockburn not only have very good recollections of it, but they also have information, and some people have come forward with photographs that will assist with council's deliberations on the matter."
The City of Cockburn said it would also think about installing visitor information signs at the site.
You could be forgiven for not associating Bibra Lake with fine dining – the suburb’s more known for lunch bars than à la carte. While there are hidden gems to be found (see: Bibra Lake Lunch Bar’s iconic banh mi, diving into a bowl of poutine at the Cockburn Ice Arena), the suburb’s dining options are fairly scarce – but Naut is here to change that
The neighbourhood bar is unassumingly located within a strip of suburban shops – next door to a hairdresser and a pharmacy
An inviting space that’s one part chic Italian espresso bar and one part captain’s quarters
the team have spent the last year slowly building a legion of local fans with some crowd-pleasing fare – think burgers
Naut is inspired by the spirit of exploration and adventure
The small bar is dipping their toe into degustation
hosting their first degustation and wine pairing dinner last week
The eight-course dinner – featuring plenty of fine dining flourishes from chef and butcher Martin Morgan
and featuring South West wine pairings by Anthony Evans from the Wine Gang – marks a shift towards the finer things in life
while maintaining a connection to the local community
amongst the dozens of diners for their inaugural event
we were amongst only a few non-locals packed into the bar
why should the CBD and inner suburbs get all the fun
Naut is located at 1/134 Parkway Road, Bibra Lake.
Two former Masters hardware sites in Perth have been sold after just four weeks on the market
Two separate investors swooped on the WA properties
The stores at Bibra Lake and Forrestdale were a part of the once mighty Woolworths-owned and operated Masters empire
which was wound up in 2016 and counted nine Western Australian outlets among its operations

The warehouse at Bibra Lake sold for $10 million less than three weeks after being put up for sale, while the Forrestdale property attracted $8.1 million and sold just over four weeks after being listed.
Savills Australia’s James Condon and Lachlan Webster negotiated the deals.
The former Masters store at Forrestdale sold for $8.1 million.
Condon says the sites fit a number of major uses, but did not say what the buyers have planned for them.
“There are no warehouses on the market that provide the quality and scale of these two spaces and significant interest was received from developers, investors and owner-occupiers,” he says.
“Both warehouses have potential to function as entertainment precincts, food or product storage, hardware nurseries or large format retail sites.”
Each site has more than 300 car parking spaces, air conditioning, polished concrete flooring and exposure to major arterial roads.
The properties had previously been on the market for 12 months before being re-listed.

Australian firm’s Bibra Lake data center to be fully operational by April 2021
Australian data center firm DC Two says its Bibra Lake data center is ahead of schedule and due to come online in April 2021
The 3MW facility is located at Bibra Lake in southern Perth and will provide the mid-market and enterprise space with colocation and cloud services
The company reportedly leased the nearly-complete facility when the prior tenants vacated before finishing the AU$10 million (US$7.7 million) project
leaving the landlord with a nearly-finished
design-accredited data center with no route to completion or market
The facility was originally designed in 2013
and DC 2 says it is working towards Bibra Lake achieving Tier III accreditation in a Stage 2 deployment
The facility's previous Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute lapsed in December 2018
“We have been working very hard over the last few months with our staff and engineers and we’re very proud to have developed a plan which enables us to bring Bibra Lake online quickly while using the same components that can be easily migrated into the final Tier III build,” said DC Two managing director
DC Two also operates a 0.2MW facility in Osborne Park
The company was listed on the Australian ASX index in November 2020 with a market cap of Aus $11.7 million ($9 million)

fire and emergency services have been on the scene investigating cause of fire
A giant plume of black smoke billowed over the Perth suburb of Bibra Lake on Friday night as a blaze engulfed cars at a Pickles auction yard
The fire destroyed 60 salvage vehicles and associated racking
in addition to residual damage to vehicles immediately surrounding the blaze
Western Australia’s Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and the police arson squad were on the scene on Saturday investigating the cause of the fire
which broke out just after 5pm local time Friday
The fire was contained to one area of the storage yard
with no damage to warehouse facilities or offices

Even though Knowles was far away from the fire, the heat was intense, she said, and warmed up the entire suburb for the night.
The smell of burnt rubber was also pungent, and Knowles soon left the scene due to concern for toxic fumes in the air.
“It’s one of those bizarre experiences where you can’t look away, but you know it’s kind of tragic. I’m just glad that nobody got hurt,” Knowles said.

Knowles said the suburb still smelled of smoke on Saturday morning.
A Pickles spokesperson said operations had not been affected and that the Bibra Lake branch was back to “business as usual” on Saturday.
The company said it was grateful to the Cockburn Central and Murdoch fire stations for their swift response.
The DFES said 15 fire trucks from seven different stations attended the scene.

There are now fears he may have infected fellow students at the school, where a Health Department spokeswoman said as many as half of the 400 pupils could be unvaccinated.
Measles is generally well contained through an established immunisation program in Australia, but if a person is not immunised then serious cases of the disease can be potentially life-threatening.
The Health Department released a statement saying it was powerless to force parents to immunise their children.
"Measles-mumps-rubella vaccine is available for free to anyone not already vaccinated aged 19 years and under through the National Immunisation Program.
What are the signs to look out for, the symptoms and the chances of an outbreak in Australia?
"WA Health has made an offer to the school to vaccinate students through specially convened vaccination clinics."
The school's administrator Jean-Michel David was unavailable for interview, but released a statement saying the department's advice had been followed "to minimise spread of infection to the community".
"Perth Waldorf School is continuing to work closely with the WA Health Department and the family and student involved in this one confirmed measles case," he said.
"The communicable disease guideline for measles stipulates that all unimmunised and non-immune individuals who have been in contact should be excluded for a period of 14 days from the onset of the rash.
"The school had put this in place as soon as it was notified by the department of the measles being contracted by the student.
"The same guideline also stipulates that vaccinated or previously infected contacts are not to be excluded.
"We are acting on the advice of the Health Department with regards to how to best manage the situation, including communicating information with the community."
Mr David did not say whether the school would accept the department's offer to conduct specially convened vaccination clinics.
Perth Waldorf School includes a playgroup for two-year-olds, a pre-school and a primary school.
The Education Department Act states that schools in WA can ask for vaccination records of children during enrolment, but can not reject applications based on vaccination status.
