launching an expletive-laden tirade at the prime minister
Anthony Albanese was met by voters and volunteers of all varieties as he visited one of the busiest pre-polling booths of the campaign trail
He arrived at the southeast Melbourne suburb of Carrum Downs
The booth was flanked by about 20 blue-clad coalition volunteers and three trucks emblazoned with the Liberal candidate's face
a woman went up for a handshake before launching into a diatribe on the federal government's decision to cut Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions from 20 to 10 and his relationship with former Victorian premier Dan Andrews

Later asked if she was a Liberal volunteer

"We're so happy it's you and not Dutton," she said
previously held by late Labor MP Peta Murphy

But that hasn't stopped the Liberals throwing significant resources at the electorate before Australians take to the polls on Saturday
Liberal volunteers tried to hijack Anthony Albanese's campaign on the final day
(Lukas Coch/AAP PHOTOS)It was the second time a campaign event was soured for the prime minister on Friday after local Liberal volunteers in the Tasmanian seat of Braddon pulled up with anti-Labor posters and tried to take the spotlight
they claimed Mr Albanese was telling "absolute lies" as he sat at the Devonport Banjo's Bakery Cafe with a coffee and pastries
The prime minister started the day on the offensive in Peter Dutton's Brisbane-based electorate of Dickson
Asked if he was trying to "play mind games"
Mr Albanese said he was "trying to win a seat" before expanding on the differences between himself and his opponent

(Lukas Coch/AAP PHOTOS)"We're very different people," he told reporters in Brisbane
alongside Labor's Dickson candidate Ali France
"My opponent is fearful of the present and petrified of the future."
Mr Dutton has long fended off challengers and holds the north Brisbane suburban seat on a 1.7 per cent margin
But Mr Albanese has maintained Labor could take the most marginal seat in Queensland from the coalition leader

The leaders have delivered their final pitches to voters as those Australians who haven’t cast their ballots at pre-polls prepare to vote
The PM and Dutton also made their final pitches on Seven News tonight
When asked if he was worried about losing his marginal Queensland seat of Dickson
Dutton did not mention the Labor candidate trying to unseat him and instead focused his attacks on an independent challenger
Betting markets suggest Labor’s Ali France is a better chance at unseating Dutton than independent candidate Ellie Smith
France whittled down Dutton’s margin to 1.7 per cent
But asked on Perth radio station 6PR moments ago if he “had one eye” on Labor trying to unseat him in Queensland
Dutton spent little time talking about the threat that France posed
“That’s continued on for a long period of time,” Dutton replied
“I’ve got a teal candidate who’s actually a Green
but I think people are smart enough to see through that
“And the Greens in Sydney are obviously funding Kate Chaney’s campaign here as well
Betting markets still favour Dutton to retain his seat
The prime minister and opposition leader have given their final
60-second pitches to Nine’s political editor Charles Croucher
Albanese slammed the opposition’s cuts and taxes and said Labor had invested
and would continue to invest in cost-of-living relief today while “continuing to invest in our tomorrow”
Dutton said this election was a “sliding doors moment for our country” and the Coalition was a better economic manager than Labor
“Australians just can’t afford three more years of the Labor government,” he said

What sets apart Kangaroo Valley residents is that

"How can someone just leave her there?
Jakobsson apologised for his actions in a letter read to the court by his lawyers at a previous hearing.
"I do understand what I've done and words can't describe how I feel," he wrote.
"I was a young kid making stupid choices."

A ‘paw effort’ by Frankston City Council and the State Government has delivered a fantastic outcome for furry friends and their owners with the opening of the Sandfield Reserve Dog Park at Carrum Downs
Deputy Mayor Nathan Conroy was joined by the Minister for Energy
community members and their much loved furry friends for a ribbon cutting event to open the dog park
Cr Conroy thanked the State Government for its significant contribution of $87,000 towards the $206,000 project
noting that Ms Kilkenny and the Federal Member for Dunkley
had supported Council’s grant application
The new dog park adds to the existing playground
basketball court and recently upgraded skate park
and reaffirms Council’s commitment to improving outdoor recreation opportunities in Carrum Downs
Features include agility obstacles and a special second section just for our smaller furry friends
Ms D’Ambrosio said: “Melbourne’s open spaces are at the heart of our city and bring enormous benefits to local communities
We promised to build dog parks for families and their pets to enjoy – and that’s what we’re delivering.”
Ms Kilkenny said: “I’m delighted to be opening this new dog park which will provide all our local dog owners with a great new park to share with their furry friends.”
Cr Conroy said: “I think we all know how important pets have become to our wellbeing over the past 18 months.”
Cr Baker said: “There are 15,208 dogs registered in Frankston City
but not everyone has a large backyard or suitable places where they can walk them off leash
What we have created at the Sandfield Reserve Dog Park is an answer to that and it is a place for all ages.”
Cr Baker added: “There is more than 4,500 square metres of open space – in a designated zone packed with dog-friendly features
which is what we are calling our playground for dogs
platforms and posts for dogs and owners who like a challenge
“There’s even a time-out area for dogs who might be over-excited or over-exhausted
with seating for owners to relax as well,” Cr Baker said
The Sandfield Reserve Dog Park complements the new Melaleuca Reserve Dog Park at Langwarrin and other ‘pawsome’ places for furry friends across Frankston City. For more information, please visit https://www.frankston.vic.gov.au/Our-Community/Animals/Free-Roam-and-Prohibited-Areas-for-Dogs
The Wattlewood townhouses in Carrum Downs have been popular since Victoria started to emerge from lockdown
A townhouse project in Melbourne’s southeast has come out of lockdown with a bang
Opened for public inspection for the first time in mid-May
the 17-home development in Carrum Downs’ Wattlewood in-fill site had buyers queuing at safe distances for a look
a further four sales are now being negotiated
according to KR Peters director Peter Nicolls
And while some property hunters were worried about their job security
newly-built homes would soon be in short supply
there won’t be any more built for a while,” he said
“Banks are seeking 50 per cent equity from developers; they are becoming more selective in who they lend to.”
Newly-built townhouses may become rarer in the Carrum Downs area as banks make development lending more restrictive
Developed by Haven Home Safe and designed by D-Arc Architects
the townhouses have attracted first-home buyers
“The designs are very practical and have been well built by Bevnol Homes,” Mr Nicolls said
“You walk through the house and you can feel it’s well built
I’ve even had calls from people just wanting to know who the architects are.”
Buyers have appreciated the multiple living spaces throughout the homes
and the homes are built on blocks ranging from 170sq m to 312sq m with their own title
The mix of single- and double-storey layouts include three bedrooms and open-plan living spaces
Fisher & Paykel appliances ensure the kitchens are functional and attractive without pushing up prices
The townhouses’ kitchens are functional as well as aesthetic
Courtyard gardens allow natural light to flow into the homes and provide space to enjoy some fresh air
The developer has also added a communal playground and barbecue area for residents
the townhouses are surrounded by a number of newly built homes and close to Carrum Downs Shopping Centre
while Carrum and Seaford beaches are a short drive away
Glass doors at the rear of the floorplan invites sunlight and fresh air into the home
Remaining townhouses are priced from $515,000-$565,000

Text description provided by the architects. The Carrum Downs Police Station is the third and largest in a series we have completed for the Victoria Police. As the next link in a civic network of modest buildings for this organisation it continues our earlier interest in the localization of a generic brief and the opportunity that a conventional project might present for a degree of innovation.
© Peter BennettsSo with this change in mind we sought to rethink the typology of the 24-hour station especially in plan and consider it as a community rather than an institution. In place of the usual long central corridor with cubicles either side we imagined this station as a mini city: a cluster of programmatic elements each figured as an individual volume, treated materially as a building and distinguished through a particular choice of brick.
© Peter BennettsAs a collection of elements they are united by the roof and the generous circulation spaces that at times overlap with and extend the adjacent program to form break out areas for informal exchange and overlaps between the organizational divisions. The inclusion of internal courtyards allows light, ventilation and aspect to interior spaces while maintaining privacy and security to the external street facades.
© Peter BennettsInternally the variation of the colour and texture of the brick expresses each of these zones as a discrete volume (as a mini building) and provides a means of orientation and identity
Externally the brick face presents as domestic and references the adjacent suburban condition
While the station is predominantly low in form the entry tower shifts the scale of the facility from domestic to civic
heralds the presence of the Victoria Police on the highway
