and we enjoy the opportunities competitive sport presents our students
Some students continue to develop and excel in their chosen activities beyond school
often through club or representative sport
some achieve elite level state and even national honours
Olivia has represented Queensland on both the national and international stage
Olivia was selected to compete for the State in New Zealand at the Colgate Games and the Lovelock Classic
She secured 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals on this tour
which was an exciting opportunity to taste high-level competition and strong team building in amongst the fun of exploring New Zealand
Olivia once again competed for Queensland at the Australian Athletics Championships in Perth
Olivia demonstrated the kind of qualities that Queensland have come to expect of its elite athletes
She competed in the U16G 90m and 200m Hurdles
She achieved national rankings of 8th overall in the 200 Hurdles
Olivia competed in Adelaide at the Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships
During this event she achieved 6th overall in the U15 Heptathlon
in only her second competition for this discipline
A particular highlight was mixed 4x100m relay
where the Queensland team took out the Gold
narrowly defeating Victoria and New South Wales
This was Olivia’s first gold medal at a National Athletics Championship
Olivia was selected to go to the National High-Performance Camp late last year as a combined eventer
After the experience of being trained by Olympic Gold medallist
Olivia has made the decision to transition from a specialist Hurdler to a Heptathlete
For an athlete to successfully compete in multiple events
they are required to master a variety of different skillsets
as these are vital to sustain high performance in the 7 events
Olivia also recognises the importance of focusing on hard work and effort in how she approaches her training to refine the 7 events of the heptathlon
Although this can be challenging to do after school
she is inspired by her coaches and is driven by the aspiration to represent Australia
This is an exciting stage in Olivia’s Athletics development
and we commend her for the incredible commitment she shows to her sport of choice
and for the achievements she has secured already
We are excited to see how her journey unfolds
and look forward to hearing about future accomplishments

Michael Dunlop says organising his own team "like running a hotel"
Isle of Man TT 2024 © Isle of Man TT Michael Dunlop admits he is yet to finalise his bike plans for the 2025 Isle of Man TT and is “really up against it” with the event beginning this month
Dunlop made history last year when he became the most successful TT rider ever with 29 victories
to keep the record in the family 24 years after Joey Dunlop set it at 26 wins
With the TT beginning this month and the North West 200 taking place next week
Dunlop is yet to officially confirm what bikes he will be riding
he rode a BMW in the big big races and a Ducati Panigale V2 in the Supersport contests - tallying up wins on both machines
He has spent much of this year testing BMW Superbike machinery as he flirts a return to the marque’s bikes
as well as the Ducati for the Supersport class
On the TT’s top 20 seeded riders list for Supersport
though his bike for the Superbike/Superstock/Senior races wasn’t confirmed
he raced a Honda in the big bike races and a Yamaha in the Supersport class
During the TT’s live podcast recording at the weekend
Dunlop was asked if he had a machine yet for the big bike races
“Don’t get me wrong they’re [the mechanics] are under a bit of pressure because it’s hard
because obviously last year I was on a Honda stocker
“It’s very clear to be seen that I’ve been out on a BMW
When asked that it’s not definite that he will be on a BMW
There’s no real point asking me about motorbikes because it could be anything
Dunlop has had stints with factory teams at the TT
but in recent years he has run his own operation and worked on his own bikes
He admits doing so is “hard work” but it’s “normal” for him
“It’s hard because it’s for some people and it’s not for some people,” he said
You’re having to run so many different personalities
“You’re having to make everything work in the one thing
I went from running a team to building my own engines
not that it’s completely different because them boys still have engine builders and stuff
but at the same time I’m dodging around seeing where the finances are coming from
I’ve always been like that so for me it’s natural

DUNLOP is open to developing another new Supercars tyre in the wake of its 2025 product’s success
The fresh rubber that has become the championship’s soft compound this year has been credited as being a considerable factor in the high-octane racing that’s played out across the opening three rounds
“I think it’s ticked every box that certainly they asked us to do,” Dunlop Motorsport’s Supercars operations manager Kevin Fitzsimons told V8 Sleuth
“We had a wish list and have just been lucky that it has actually worked for everything
because usually you have something where you rob Peter to pay Paul type of thing
“So we’ll just roll on and have a chat with Supercars to see what we do now
because people are sort of saying the fact that it’s faster than the super soft and just a better tyre all-round
you can follow closer to another car without paying the penalty as much
you don’t pay for it for the next lap and a half
you can slide it and the thing will recover really
“I’m really happy with it and I’m pretty sure if you talk to most of the drivers after driving on the super soft
It reacts really differently but it works really well I think.”
an interesting point observed at Taupō – the first round this year where both compounds featured – was how the new soft generated better outright speed than the old super soft and still had less degradation
In the back-to-back Saturday qualifying sessions there, the fastest time set on the soft (Matt Payne’s 1m25.7006s) was more than a half-second quicker than the fastest super soft lap (Will Davison’s 1m26.2526s)
is the next step to potentially introduce an upgraded super soft
so we sort of now ask the question and say ‘righto
“We’ll talk with Perry (Kapper) and with Tim (Edwards) and say ‘what would you like us to try?’
the super soft production is already done to carry us right through to Sandown
so it’s something we could look at for next year
“We could get some test tyres knocked up and get them here and then go into production on those probably November or thereabouts to be here in Feb for the start of (next) season for the test day

With a strong commitment to peer-led care and a lived experience approach
James is passionate about empowering both consumers and peer workers on their recovery journeys

The scandal – 35 years ago – occupied only a few weeks in a life of seven decades
but such was the media eruption that it must be part of her story
what began as a jape between friends developed into being one of the grandest celebrations of the decade
Engagement parties in Melbourne and New York

Lorenzo Montesini and Primrose Dunlop in early 1990.Credit: Brendan Read
The nature of this relationship was apparently unknown to most of the cast in the saga (although this now seems improbable) – his fiancee
the lachrymose man who was to give her away
her affable stepfather who was to pay for the wedding
and perhaps quite a few of the guests – but it was only hinted at in the press and never admitted publicly
Primrose with her mother in the early 1950s
claimed “courtesy titles” bestowed on him by his maternal grandmother from the vanished Ottoman Empire – Prince Giustiniani
Baron Alexandroff – added glamour to the match
The fact that the groom’s mother was illegitimate may have stretched the concept of even a courtesy title and may have caused the bride’s mother some last-minute disquiet
the groom claims an argument erupted about him paying for “a rather large meal”
prompting sensational claims of “elopement”
despite the men having been together for two decades
Both bride and groom retreated – he and his partner back to their pink terrace in Woolloomooloo
Anne-Margaret Primrose Dunlop was born in Sydney on March 11
a former army doctor who would practise as a GP for 61 years in Sydney’s eastern suburbs
Primrose’s mother was Primrose Anderson Stuart
granddaughter of the founding chair of anatomy and physiology at the University of Sydney
a great-granddaughter of the fourth Earl of Rosebery – a link of which she was proud
Young Primrose (known to her family as Pitty Pat) grew up in Bellevue Hill until 1970
when her mother met Melbourne stockbroker and philanthropist Sir Ian Potter at a party hosted by Bill and Sonia McMahon
Primrose went to Italy to learn Italian and travelled with her mother and step-father
from the Atlas Copco copper mines in Africa to London and New York
Primrose Dunlop at Flemington for Derby Day in 1995
who had divorced Dunlop five years earlier
By the 1980s Primrose was a social columnist for The Sun-Herald
It was during this time that she met Lorenzo Montesini and Robert Straub
where he was educated by the De La Salle Brothers
They had met in Vietnam in 1967 during National Service
Lorenzo and Primrose were engaged and she was working for Lord (Alistair) McAlpine
then chairman of the British Conservative Party
owner of the Intercontinental and laird of Broome
He was to be among the 70 guests in Venice
author of Secrets from the Past and Hold the Dream
The most direct accounts of the match that didn’t happen in Venice in Holy Week 1990 can be found in Montesini’s memoir

Not long before their wedding at St Peter’s Eastern Hill in March 1993 (described as “quiet” – albeit with 200 guests at the Melbourne Club)
it was revealed George was actually Count Jerzy Krasicki von Siecin
scion of a 15th century noble family from Masovia
So the bride who was almost Countess of Phanaar became Countess Krasicki
She lived with George in South Yarra and Brighton East and from 1994 with their daughter
Primrose remained in the orbit of her mother
whose philanthropy and patronage of the arts after Potter’s death
earned her a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2003
from his second marriage; and after 25 years with Primrose
Primrose was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and entered full-time care in 2022
A week after Primrose’s death on February 5
announced a donation of $1 million to one of her charities

the Supercars Championship’s control tyre supplier for over two decades
has been sold by American owners Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Japanese company Sumitomo Rubber Industries signed a purchase agreement with Goodyear to acquire the Dunlop trademark and other rights for four-wheel tyres in Europe
is expected to be completed by the end of the financial year in June
V8 Sleuth understands that the sale will have no impact on Dunlop’s deal to supply Supercars’ control tyres
which have long been produced by Sumitomo in Japan
MORE: ‘Engineering nightmare’ in store for 2025 Supercars
Ownership of the Dunlop brand has been fragmented for decades
and German giant Continental all holding rights to the brand’s tyres in various regions
Dunlop’s European and American entities were initially split in the mid-1980s
with Sumitomo taking on the former and Goodyear acquiring the latter
The two companies entered a joint venture in 1999
leading to a scenario where Goodyear owned the rights to the Dunlop brand in Australia while Sumitomo made the car racing tyres used in Australia on Goodyear’s behalf
“Our group has a history of acquiring Dunlop in various countries in the 1980s and producing and selling Dunlop brand tyres in Europe and North America in addition to Japan,” Satoru Yamamoto
president and CEO of Sumitomo Rubber Industries
“It has been a great opportunity for our group to be able to use the Dunlop brand globally
and we are delighted that this acquisition has enabled us to use the Dunlop brand almost all over the world
we will maximise the potential of the Dunlop brand
not only in the new regions where we have acquired rights
and further accelerate our efforts to realise our purpose: ‘Through innovation we will create a future of joy and well-being for all.'”
It has been widely reported that Goodyear was looking to sell off its share of the Dunlop brand
The Australian arm had also endured challenges in recent years
slashing of hundreds of jobs and closing the Beaurepaires brand and its stores across the country
However, as we revealed last month, Supercars quietly renewed its deal with Dunlop to continue supplying the category’s control tyre until the end of 2027
Part of that new deal will see the introduction of a new Soft tyre for the 2025 season which will be used extensively as part of a shake-up of race and weekend formats
culminating in the new Finals championship structure
The 2027 season will mark Dunlop’s 25th anniversary as Supercars’ control tyre supplier having taken over from Bridgestone for the 2002 season
The company has also been the naming rights partner for Supercars’ second-tier series since 2012
and is the sponsor of Supercars’ annual Teams Championship
Fraser lost all possessions in devastating house fire whilst competing at 2024 Bathurst 1000
Dunlop replaced the original trophy with exact replica
2022 Dunlop Super2 Series champion Declan Fraser was presented with a replacement trophy for his title win on Wednesday morning at the Destination NSW Sydney Test Day on Wednesday
Fraser lost the Super2 trophy along with the rest of his racing mementos and possessions in a devastating house fire on the Gold Coast last year
the fire occurred on the Saturday of the Repco Bathurst 1000
meaning the only possessions Fraser was left with were the ones he had in NSW
combining with Andre Heimgartner at Brad Jones Racing to finish 16th
and naming rights partner of the Super2 Series
have stepped to replace the trophy that represents Fraser's biggest career achievement
Fraser won the 2022 Super2 title at the helm of a Triple Eight Race Engineering Commodore VF
winning four races on his way to beating the likes of current main game drivers Matt Payne and Cameron Hill
Fraser was on hand at Sydney Motorsport Park with BJR
where he will once again line up with Heimgartner in the Enduro Cup
and was presented with an exact replica of the Super2 trophy by Dunlop's Operations Manager Kevin Fitzsimons
Now I was not expecting that to say the least," said an emotional Fraser
Brad called me over and Kevin from Dunlop was there
and there's a box with a gurney on the side of it
So I thought it might have been getting a gurney or something
"Now to open the box and have my Super2 Championship trophy recreated for me
And I know there's some people behind the scenes that have contributed to making this happen
it's wild to see it in person and actually made me choke up a little bit
Even having this conversation right now is a little bit how you going
really appreciative that everyone's made this happen."

Geoghegan joined the Erebus Academy in the lead up to the 2024 Sandown 500
Teammates Jobe Stewart and Jarrod Hughes confirmed as Erebus' enduro co-drivers for 2025
2024 Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia GR Cup champion Max Geoghegan will graduate to the Dunlop Super2 Series in 2025 in an expanded three-car Erebus Academy effort to be run by Image Racing
who also won the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series in 2024
is eagerly anticipating the chance to make his debut in Supercars competition in front of his home crowd in a month's time
“I am very proud to say I am joining the Erebus Academy and Image Racing for Super2 in 2025,” Geoghegan said
Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan has also welcomed the news
which he believes reinforces their commitment to developing young talent from a grassroots level all the way to Supercars
“Max has proven he has the talent and attitude to make it to the top of the motorsport tree," Ryan said
"His impressive two championships in 2024 in the Toyota 86 Scholarship and GR Cup were outstanding
I am excited to see Max progress and show his talents in Super2 in 2025.”
“The Erebus Academy is our commitment to building the next generation of motorsport talent
we’re working to create clear pathways for young racers to succeed.”
Geoghegan will join second-year Super2 drivers Stewart and Hughes in a car formerly driven by reigning Repco Supercars Champion Will Brown in 2022 in the main game
Hughes finished fourth in last year's Super2 Series, claiming the rookie of the year honours, whilst Stewart finished fifth, with the pair confirmed to be stepping up as co-drivers with Erebus at The Bend 500 and Repco Bathurst 1000

Four big predictions for the 2025 Dunlop Super2 SeriesDunlop Series18 FebAhead of the season opener, we make our predictions for the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series5 mins by Zac DowdellSuper22025 Supercars CalendarAnalysisFor the first time in 2025
it's race week in the Repco Supercars Championship
and that means it's also race week for the Dunlop Super2 Series
We've made our predictions for the 2025 Supercars season
but the development series also returns for its 25th anniversary season
with a field of 23 cars and drivers set to contest the full season
The reigning champion returns in a new setting
but there will be plenty of drivers eager to prove themselves as the next big thing in the Supercars paddock
A revamped calendar sees half of the schedule change year-on-year
which could also throw some unexpected curveballs and results into the mix
Ahead of the opening round at the Thrifty Sydney 500
here are four predictions for the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series
It hasn't been done in 25 seasons of the Supercars development series
but in 2025 Zach Bates could very well be the favourite heading into the Dunlop Super2 Series
Bates swaps from his successful partnership with Walkinshaw Andretti United to Eggleston Motorsport
courtesy of his deal to run in the Triple Eight wildcard program
It was a breakout campaign for the 20-year-old in 2024
claiming his first race and round wins at Perth
and then sealing the title with a third round win and victory in the final race of the season in Adelaide
Pairing up with the 2024 Super2 Teams' Champions makes for something of a Super2 all-star line-up
and Eggleston's 2024 season with Kai Allen should leave them well placed to give Bates every opportunity to succeed
Allen looked almost certain to become the first driver to claim back-to-back titles
however a mid-season slump stemming from qualifying woes saw him finish behind both Bates and Aaron Cameron
With the benchmark driver joining the benchmark team
it's going to be a daunting marker to beat for the rest of the Dunlop Super2 Series field in 2025
2024 proved to be a remarkably competitive Super2 season
with six drivers claiming wins across the 12 race season
and seven drivers entering the final round in mathematical contention for the championship
with each of those drivers representing six different teams
whilst Stewart's Image Racing/Erebus Academy stablemate Jarrod Hughes also firms as a potential race winner this year
2023 Mike Kable Young Gun Award winner Cameron McLeod will be looking to rediscover some of his blistering form from two years ago at a new ride
whilst any of Tickford's four entries could prove to be winners this year
Throw in a bumper crop of exciting rookies and the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series is shaping up to potentially be even more wide open and unpredictable than the epic 2024 campaign
The nine-strong rookie class of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series features several drivers who could claim victory at any point this season
Headlining the rookie crop is reigning Super3 champion Cody Burcher
who swaps an MW Motorsport Nissan for an Eggleston Commodore
a known package that can easily be right up the front from the start
Former Porsche Carrera Cup frontrunner Jackson Walls transitions into the Supercars pathway and will be one of two rookies teaming up for Triple Eight's return to the development series
Fellow Porsche star Ayrton Hodson could be something of a wildcard at an expanded Anderson Motorsport
the Kiwi stepping up after an impressive Sprint Challenge season in 2024
Hodson has also been winning races in his homeland over summer in a GT4 Toyota Supra
and is also a sprintcar star in New Zealand speedway
Former TCR and Toyota 86 ace Bailey Sweeny joins Blanchard Racing Team for a full-time campaign
and is at the helm of a chassis that has won races in the past two Super2 seasons
The ever-popular Toyota GR Cup has produced five rookies in 2025
McLeod to rebound on return to Kelly Racing
Having been the fastest driver in the 2023 Super3 Series
a lot of people looked to Cameron McLeod as a potential breakout star in a PremiAir-supported Commodore last year
McLeod's season was tempered by some poor results and getting involved in big accidents at both Townsville
and his infamous roll down the back straight in Perth
With PremiAir stepping away on Super2 with an eye on running a Supercars wildcard
McLeod jumps across the manufacturer divide and will be at the helm of a Mustang for Kelly Racing in 2025
It's back to the future for the 20-year-old Queenslander
who drove a Kelly Racing Nissan in his ultra-speedy Super3 season
Aaron Cameron's charge to a runner-up finish in last year's Super2 Series for the Kelly's has given McLeod all the confidence that he can challenge for a development series title this year
Whilst Cameron's engineer Daniel Veronese moves on to the main game with Blanchard Racing Team
McLeod resumes a successful partnership with veteran engineer Wally Storey
The pair united at the final round in Adelaide last year
with McLeod claiming a podium in the Saturday race
which vaulted McLeod to 11th in the final standings
everything is in place for Cameron McLeod to rediscover his best form across the 2025 season
Tickets for the season-opening round in Sydney, on February 21-23, are on sale now.
Uncertainty surrounds the distribution of Dunlop tyres in Australia and New Zealand
with the Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres subsidiaries in both countries (collectively Goodyear ANZ) notifying NTAW Holdings Limited on 8 January that it will terminate the distribution agreements both parties entered into on 20 September 2023
The termination will take effect upon the completion of Goodyear’s Dunlop brand rights sale to Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI)
NTAW now intends to “engage with Goodyear ANZ and SRI in relation to the future distribution of Dunlop branded tyres in Australia and New Zealand.”

Economist and Myanmar expert Professor Sean Turnell has been honoured as the recipient of the 2024 Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Asialink Medal
The Dunlop Medal recognises outstanding records of achievement in improving Australia-Asia relations and enhancing the quality of life in the region
The medal has previously been awarded to prominent Australians including the former foreign minister Julie Bishop
international policy maker Professor Gareth Evans AC KC and Gabi Hollows AO
In accepting the honour Professor Turnell highlighted the legacy of Sir Edward Dunlop: “It’s not too much to say that when I was growing up Weary Dunlop was a deity
A man who represented not just the best of Australia
The University of Melbourne’s Vice Chancellor delivered the Dunlop Asia Lecture and spoke of Weary Dunlop’s burning belief in the transformative power of education to build deep and enduring friendship between peoples of very different cultures
“International students bring vibrancy and dynamism to communities and towns across Australia
they offer a trustworthy path to building and maintaining better relations with other countries.”
Professor Maskell pointed to the politics and rhetoric surrounding the current debate about international student caps
saying “how have we lost interest in aiming for a higher degree of idealism as exemplified by Weary Dunlop’s ideas about the power of education as a force for good
What easily gets lost in this discussion is the human face and the human value of international education
In these volatile times we surely need to work much harder on building these kinds of connection.”
Professor Maskell also supported the establishment of a single institution to raise the profile of Australia internationally: “It could be a body that is ideally placed to connect Australian alumni with broad national objectives – to integrate international education into the conduct of foreign policy
It could also make the case for Australia’s international activities’ successes – including education – to the Australian community as a vital national interest.”
Asialink Group Chief Executive Officer Martine Letts said: “The Dunlop Medal and Lecture honours Australians who
have demonstrated a visionary commitment to strengthening Australia-Asia relations
Positive engagement with Asia is vital for all Australians
our future prosperity and security depend on it.”

Walker & Dunlop is one of the largest commercial real estate finance and advisory firms in the United States
it now operates nationwide and has over 1,300 employees across 43 offices
The company’s marketing team includes around 45 professionals responsible for producing both the corporate marketing materials and the collateral that supports its employees’ sales and advisory efforts
To help manage the high volume of marketing content required for a company of its size
Walker & Dunlop has made a significant investment in adopting and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) across its entire marketing workflow
“Our CEO originally came to me and asked if we could replace our marketing team with AI,” said Carol McNerney
Chief Marketing Officer at Walker & Dunlop
“I told him that we don’t want to replace human intelligence—just give them a tool that can help them do more.” Despite the company’s considerable investment in AI
McNerney said there are no plans to reduce the size of her team
the better our marketing is going to be,” she explained
One of the first ways the real estate industry experimented with AI was by using it to generate marketing content
that often meant asking tools like ChatGPT to write listing descriptions to post on the local MLS
the marketing materials are far more complex
Documents like Offering Memorandums can span dozens of pages and must be designed to clearly convey both detailed information and a wide range of visual elements
These materials must be presented in a professional
Thanks! A new tab should have opened. Click here if not.
Many commercial real estate firms rely on templates to help their marketing teams create materials quickly
But McNerney believes templates fall short when it comes to meeting the unique needs of individual clients
“Templates don’t necessarily work,” she said
“Our producers are all very opinionated about how they want their marketing material to look because they know what information their clients are looking for.” By training its AI tools on the company’s voice
Walker & Dunlop can now generate consistent materials that are still customized to the preferences of each producer or client
The influence of AI at Walker & Dunlop goes far beyond content creation
They plan on using it to understand how to improve marketing performance
“We will eventually start to feed our AI information about the outcomes of each campaign so it will be able to provide feedback on what works and what doesn’t,” McNerney said
By connecting every piece of a marketing campaign
AI will be able to analyze how each channel contributes to overall success and recommend more effective strategies moving forward
Walker & Dunlop has also modernized its website with AI tools to make it easier to update and more insightful when it comes to user experience
The company now uses Webflow to manage its site
which gives the team greater control over the design and functionality
I needed a software developer to fix everything that broke whenever we made changes,” McNerney said
different members of the marketing team can update various parts of the site simultaneously without worrying about breaking the entire system
Bringing AI into real estate marketing requires more than just deploying new tools—it also demands organizational change and a shift in how teams are trained and managed
Walker & Dunlop’s size has allowed it to commit the resources necessary to fully integrate AI into its operations
But as AI tools become more powerful and easier to use
smaller real estate firms will likely follow
customized content quickly is becoming a major competitive advantage in commercial real estate
While adopting AI does require upfront effort—such as training models and refining workflows—the payoff is the ability to scale marketing output without hiring a team of data scientists
AI presents a clear opportunity to improve efficiency
and elevate the sophistication of their marketing materials

THE Dunlop Series will roll into Bathurst minus some significant names at what will be the penultimate round of the season
Missing are speedy rookie Cameron McLeod, in-form veteran Jack Perkins, and main game-bound Cooper Murray
all of whom will be co-driving in the Great Race
Eggleston Motorsport is however still running the #88 ZB Commodore which Murray usually occupies, with 2016 Bathurst 1000 winner Jonathon Webb set to pilot it in his first second-tier start since 2015.
There’s also driver chance in the Matt Chahda Motorsport Super2 entry after Sandown debutant Aron Shields was ruled out, with Trans Am pilot Jackson Rice making his Dunlop Series debut
In Super3, Bailey Sweeny will make his first start in the category aboard the Image Racing VF Commodore that powered Tony Auddino to the Sandown round win in class
Kai Allen sits atop the Super2 standings with 126 points in hand over nearest threat Zach Bates; the exact same margin separates Cody Burcher and Thomas Maxwell as the top two in Super3

11 entries have been locked in for the 2025 season
but there could be as many as a further eight entries that are likely
with more announcements to be expected right up until the Sydney opening round from February 21-23
Supercars.com takes a look at Super2 silly season moves that have happened already and other moves that could yet happen this off-season
The headline act of the 2025 Super2 Series field to date is the return of Triple Eight Race Engineering to the development series
with rookies Jackson Walls and Ben Gomersall moving on from Porsche Carrera Cup and Toyota GR Cup respectively
Fellow main game outfit Tickford Racing have also announced their three-driver attack in their Autosport program
Lochie Dalton and Rylan Gray retain their seats
whilst Reuben Goodall will swap a Commodore for a Mustang in 2025
Eggleston Motorsport have confirmed GR Cup standout Bradi Owen and current Super3 champion Cody Burcher as their first two drivers
with Jordyn Sinni also expected to return for his third season with the team
Anderson Motorsport have confirmed an expansion to two Mustangs in 2025
with a yet to be announced driver partnering another GR Cup young gun in Ryan Tomsett
Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan has also confirmed that Jobe Stewart and Jarrod Hughes will return for second seasons in Image Racing Commodores
A press conference slip-up from Will Brown at Adelaide appeared to confirm another major piece of silly season news for 2025
Eggleston Motorsport look set to replace one Super2 champion with another
as Zach Bates has been linked to replace outgoing champion Kai Allen to complete their four-car roster
Walkinshaw Andretti United are also set to return in 2025
Campbell Logan showed solid improvement across his first season
and all indications suggest he'll be back for next year
however there is a seat to fill alongside the Tasmanian
WAU could very well have a ready-made replacement from within their Foundation Academy
with Victorian Matt Hillyer winning six races in a row in this year's Toyota GR Cup in a WAU Toyota 86
The team will also be running an evaluation day on Thursday at Winton
Image Racing could be an expanded three-car operation next season
with GR Cup champion and Erebus Academy prospect Max Geoghegan testing a VF Commodore at Winton with an eye on a Super2 campaign next season depending on budget
Whilst it's namesake won't be in the field next year
Matt Chahda Motorsport is expected to run an expanded operation next year across multiple makes
The ex-BJR Commodore ZB will remain in service alongside an ex-Tickford Mustang purchased from AIM Motorsport who shut down their Super2 operations mid-season
and there are also talks that a third car could be added to the MCM line-up for next year
Blake Tracey and Jackson Rice are the favourites for the rides in the Commodore and Mustang respectively
the latter having debuted in the Commodore at Bathurst in October
If Cameron McLeod is to carry on in the Super2 Series
he will do so without the support of PremiAir Racing
with Peter Xiberras' ambitious team signalling their intentions to run a wildcard Camaro in select Supercars rounds
with Trans Am ace Nathan Herne firming as the perferred driver for that program
Three drivers shape as potential big name players in the Super2 silly season for 2025
though a main game opportunity could yet present itself for one driver in particular
2024 Super2 Series runner-up Aaron Cameron could be a potential player in both Supercars and Super2 silly seasons after his remarkable run of late-season form for Kelly Racing
Cameron's future with the revived Kelly outfit is unclear having only been a one year deal
and rumours persist that he could potentially be in line for an unlikely last-minute promotion to the main game with Blanchard Racing Team
for whom he impressed in his maiden enduro campaign
Another race winner who is currently without a ride is Brad Vaughan
who has parted ways with Tickford Autosport after two seasons
Whilst the 2022 Super3 champion's raw speed has been unquestionable
claiming four pole positions over the past two years
that speed hasn't quite translated into consistent race performances
There is an obvious link to Matt Chahda Motorsport from his wildcard appearances at Sandown and Bathurst
however he could be an enticing prospect for teams up and down the Super2 paddock
Rookie of the Year contender Max Vidau also appears to be on the move from his current team at Anderson Motorsport
the South Australian isn't a certainty to carry on with the team
although has made his intentions clear that he wants to remain in the Supercars paddock in 2025
Vidau led the rookie standings right up until a difficult finale in Adelaide
proving that he could be a potential title challenger given the right opportunity next season
AFTER losing all his possessions and trophies in a devastating house fire last year, Declan Fraser now has one of them back
The Mackay product was surprised with a replica of his 2022 Super2 Series championship trophy during Wednesday’s Supercars preseason test
Fraser was on hand at Sydney Motorsport Park as part of his co-driving role with Brad Jones Racing, slated to share André Heimgartner’s #8 Camaro for a second year in a row
‘DEVASTATED’: Fraser opens up on house fire
A house fire on the Saturday of last year’s Bathurst 1000 destroyed the Gold Coast home in which Fraser was living and everything that was in it, including all the trophies and memorabilia from his motorsport career to that point and leaving him with only the possessions he’d brought to Mount Panorama.
The replica was commissioned by series sponsor Dunlop and its operations manager Kevin Fitzsimons, who did the honours of giving it to Fraser.
“Damn, I know what to say. Now I was not expecting that to say the least,” an emotional Fraser said.
“It was pretty cool, Brad called me over and Kevin from Dunlop was there, and there’s a box with a gurney on the side of it. So I thought it might have been getting a gurney or something.
“Now to open the box and have my Super2 Championship trophy recreated for me, is wild.
“And I know there’s some people behind the scenes that have contributed to making this happen, and Kev for facilitating it.
“It’s just… it’s wild to see it in person and actually made me choke up a little bit. Even having this conversation right now is a little bit how you going.
“But really, really appreciative that everyone’s made this happen.”
It marks the second time that Fraser has been presented with replacement versions of lost trophies.
At last year’s GT World Challenge Australia awards night, SRO Australia presented Fraser with replicas of the trophies he’d earnt during that season racing with Peter Hackett aboard a Triple Eight-run Mercedes-AMG.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Declan Fraser (@declanfraserr)
It kicks off alongside the Supercars Championship on February 21-23 at Sydney Motorsport Park
the same venue where the inaugural second-tier series began in the year 2000
Entries announced to date are headlined by Zach Bates making the switch from Walkinshaw Andretti United to Eggleston Motorsport for his title defence as part of his new tie-up with Triple Eight
Bates will lead a five-strong fleet of ex-Triple Eight Commodore ZBs to be fielded by Eggleston
which has had its two 2024 spearheads Kai Allen and Cooper Murray graduate to the main game
The team has recruited Super3 champ Cody Burcher, ex-Brad Jones Racing driver Elliot Cleary and Toyota 86 Graduate Bradi Owen to join Bates and incumbent Jordyn Sinni
The team’s opposition this year includes Supercars Championship benchmark Triple Eight, which moves back into Super2 after two years away to field Jackson Walls and Ben Gomersall.
Erebus (whose Academy team is run in conjunction with Image Racing) and Brad Jones Racing are again set to be represented
BJR hasn’t confirmed its drivers but is understood to have signed Tickford outcast Brad Vaughan
who is also tipped to take up an endurance co-drive with the team’s main game outfit
Others yet to show their hand include Kelly Racing
Its 2024 series runner-up Aaron Cameron is not expected to return
won’t run a car in Super2 this year after electing to focus on its main game efforts
Matt Chahda Motorsport has flagged intentions to field at least one Mustang alongside its Commodore and is now expected to start the season with Chahda among its line-up
No teams have currently nominated to run the older model Falcon FG X, Commodore VF or Nissan Altima that are now eligible for Super2 following the axing of the Super3 Series
The 2025 Super2 Series will take place over six rounds with Sydney Motorsport Park to be followed by outings at Symmons Plains

Michael Dunlop has arrived in the US for this year’s edition of the Daytona 200
Michael Dunlop and Ducati Panigale V2. Credit: Instagram/Michael Dunlop. Road racing legend Michael Dunlop has landed in Florida ahead of the Daytona 200, arguably the US’s most prestigious closed circuit motorcycle road race.
Dunlop will be riding a Ducati Panigale V2 in the Daytona 200, which is raced on Supersport-class machinery.
The Panigale V2 was victorious last year in the hands of Josh Herrin, who went on to win the MotoAmerica Superbike title last year, and who this year will be chasing his fourth Daytona 200 victory.
For Dunlop, it will be a maiden race on the Italian bike that he has been testing since January, when he showed up to a WorldSBK test in Jerez.
It points to a potential roads campaign on the 955cc Panigale V2 this year, the bike with which Davey Todd won the second Supersport race at last year’s North West 200, Ben Currie won the 2023 British Supersport Championship, and which both Nicolo Bulega and Adrian Huertas have won the World Supersport title on.
Todd was also able to give the Panigale V2 two podium at the Isle of Man TT last year, finishing second in Race 1 and third in Race 2.
Dunlop won both Supersport races at last year’s TT on a Yamaha R6, although he started the event on a Triumph Street Triple 765 RS.
Dunlop will not be the only road racing star at the Daytona 200 this weekend, as Peter Hickman will also race aboard his own PHR Performance-prepared Triumph Street Triple. PHR and Triumph will also field a second Street Triple for Richard Cooper.
The 2025 Daytona 200 start procedure will begin at 13:10 local time on Saturday 8 March.

Ben Gomersall to race Triple Eight entries
Young drivers Ben Gomersall and Jackson Walls will race for the team next season
with Triple Eight returning to the second-tier series after a two-year absence
Walls currently sits third in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia standings with wins at Taupō and Sandown
while Gomersall currently competes in the Toyota 86 GR Cup series
Four of Triple Eight’s previous 10 Super2 drivers have graduated to the main game
including current Supercars star Broc Feeney
and 2022 teammates Declan Fraser and Cameron Hill
“It is fantastic to be returning to Super2,” Triple Eight Managing Director Jamie Whincup said
“We are big supporters of introducing young talent into motorsport and providing that young talent a pathway from go-karts to Supercars
“I’ve felt a bit hollow the last few years not being in Super2
only because we didn't have cars available
But we've been able to now get cars available so we can enter the series again
this is just the start of a grand plan to develop talent
and give them the pathway from go-karts to Supercars."
Whincup said Walls and Gomersall are the perfect fits to represent Triple Eight in the Dunlop Series
The team won titles in 2011 (Andrew Thompson)
predominantly known for his Porsche Carrera Cup performances
and he's someone that we feel we can rely on to represent the Triple Eight Race Engineering brand in Super2 again," Whincup said
“We’ve needed drivers who can showcase the performance of the car and what Triple Eight is all about
and we've got full trust that Jackson's going to be able to do that
He is certainly a fast young kid looking to get on the Supercar grid
and we hope we can be a part of that journey
so I think it's a great opportunity for him to massively increase his learning curve
He'll be surrounded by some of the best drivers and engineers in the business
but we're not putting too much pressure on him
that learning curve accelerates quickly over the first six months
and then he can become a real contender by the end of the season
If they can get to the end of the year with a significant amount more experience and good knowledge of the Triple Eight way to make a Supercar go fast

Raised in Sydney's exclusive Bellevue Hill with high marriage prospects, Anne-Margaret Primrose Dunlop, or ‘Pitty Pat’, as she was known, was destined for an unusual matrimony.
The youngest York sister posted a touching dedication to her mother and sister in honour of International Women's Day, with an adorable photograph of her son
1990 saw her name hit international headlines when her press-heavy wedding to Lorenzo Montesini, a Qantas stewart with apparent claims to the Ottoman throne, was suddenly derailed - Montesini eloped to Paris with his best man
in April 1990 before he absconded with his lover
Story has it, Montesini and Primrose’s relationship was always far from a love-match - their partnership was initially a jape. Primrose was struggling to continue funding her lavish trips to London for a never-ending carousel of parties, and Straub jokingly suggested she marry a Qantas steward.
Lord Kenilworth and Mrs. Primrose Dunlop were among the guests at the Golden Committee's parade of Pucci Fashion parade at David Jones. November 13, 1974
But how did this comment turn south? Straub and Montesini had been inseparable after they met as conscripts during the Vietnam war - their relationship was known by those around them but publicly, they kept their romance private.
Primrose’s mother, Lady Potter, encouraged her daughter to take the marriage suggestion seriously - she saw the matrimony as a marriage blanc benefitting both party’s image. After all, a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife… right?
Princess Lilian of Sweden: The British model who waited 30 years to marry her Prince CharmingBy TatlerRead MoreA woman of optics, Lady Potter was distantly related to the 6th Earl of Rosebery and embedded herself in the high echelons of Australian society. She first married an army doctor, Roger Dunlop, who was Primrose’ father. After a divorce, she married one of Australia’s richest men
Things got out of hand - Montesini and Primrose were soon on their way to Venice for a fairytale wedding when things took a turn for the worse. Straub was showing signs of indecision - arguments erupted over dinner and newspapers pounced. The wedding was called off at the 11th hour when the groom and best man disappeared with their own wedding intentions.
A diadem of gold oak leaves and a Balenciaga-inspired wedding dress remained untouched on Easter Monday, when their wedding was scheduled to kick off at Venice’s Basilica di San Pietro. Vanity Fair reported ‘Social Death in Venice’, headlines read ‘Aisle Be Missing You’, and even Australian politicians joked about it in parliament.
Like her mother, Primrose’s second relationship appeared happier and wealthier - she went on to marry George Kirk, a Pole working in real estate. Post wedding bells, it was revealed he was Count Jerzy Krasicki v Siecin, descendant of a 15th century noble family from Masovia - not a bad catch. They had one child, Zofia, a year after their marriage in 1993.
Countess Zofia Krasicki von Siecin attends the Giambattista Valli Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week at Hotel Pozzo di Borgo
Granddaughter and grandmother, Zofia and Lady Potter remain close, particularly since Primrose entered full-time care in 2022, suffering from frontotemporal dementia.
After Primrose Dunlop's death, Lady Potter make a large donation in her name to The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

Zach Bates claws back nine points on Kai Allen
Jack Perkins has claimed his second win of the 2024 Dunlop Series in just his third start of the year, after a dominant display in Race 1 at Sandown.
Perkins won the start and was never headed in his retro-liveried Mustang, claiming the win in a race that finished under Safety Car conditions.
Although the track was declared wet well in advance of the race start, all 23 cars started on dry tyres with a dry line forming on the racing line, and the race would run without rain.
Click here for Race 1 resultsThe outside of the grid was expected to get the best of the starts on the dry line
however Perkins would convert his pole in a textbook start to be well clear of the pack at Turn 1
and would soon find his way by the Image Racing Commodore of Hughes to jump into third and begin to hunt the leaders
The Super3 Nissans both got boxed around on the opening lap, Burcher ending up back in seventh, and Thomas Maxwell getting pushed off the road by Cameron McLeod
The battle for the lead would heat up as Stewart
put serious pressure on the #79 Mustang of Perkins
The reigning Super3 champion even rubbed the rear bumper of the Townsville round winner at Turn 9
allowing Bates to claw back big ground on the lead pair
Bates had Kai Allen for company
the current series leader putting in another sterling recovery drive from a disappointing qualifying to run fourth
However, the bp pulse Safety Car would be called upon on lap seven when Callum Walker parked in the Turn 9 gravel trap after a wild ride
After tagging Tony Auddino into a spin at Turn 4 earlier
Walker would lose the rear of his ZB Commodore coming down through the Esses and would clout the wall on driver’s right
Perkins would lead the field back to green with 16 minutes remaining
Allen immediately putting pressure on Bates for third
The third of the title contenders, Aaron Cameron
found his way by Hughes at the restart to jump into fifth
and also began hunting down Bates in his Kelly Racing Mustang
whilst Perkins continued to control the pace
Perkins’ pace proved to be supreme as the race entered the closing laps
with Stewart falling back into the clutches of Bates in the fight for second
Stewart was contending with a passenger door that had worked its way ajar
allowing Bates to range up on to the outside entering turn two
and Allen had a heart-stopping moment as he tried to capitalise on Bates running wide
Any chance of a further fight for the minors was dashed when Cody Gillis brought out the second and final safety car of the day after having a near-identical moment to Walker
After getting caught in the aero wash of Rylan Gray through the fast Turn 6 sweeper
Gillis lost the rear of his Brad Jones Racing Commodore on the wet run-off
and speared nose first into the Armco on the run to turn nine
Stewart would equal his best finish of the season in second
whilst Bates would hold on to third and chipped away at the points margin to Allen
promoted ahead of Cameron McLeod who was penalised for his role in the Thomas Maxwell incident

Aaron Cameron has set up a blockbuster final race of the 2024 Dunlop Series by claiming his second pole from the last three races in Boost Mobile Qualifying for Race 12 of the season
Cameron set a 1:20.0116s to head championship rivals Zach Bates and Kai Allen
with the trio split by one and a half tenths
and Bates only 0.0568s away from sweeping both Boost Mobile Pole Awards
The championship leader also wrapped up the 2024 Boost Mobile Pole Award for the Dunlop Series on a countback
with three second place starts to Brad Vaughan's two
Five drivers ended up tied on two pole positions for the season
with Allen and Jarrod Hughes claiming a single pole each through the season
With a championship battle forefront in his mind
with the 24-year-old also admitting that there was room for improvement
I did a pretty bad job in that session," Cameron said
"We were meant to go fourth [gear] through Turn 1
"Thanks to all the Kelly Racing guys for everything
I'm pretty sure I'll only get one shot at a Super2 title
"It's pretty awesome that it's me
and we'll see who comes out on top."
Best of the rest behind the championship contenders was Jobe Stewart
with Rylan Gray and Stewart's stablemate Hughes fifth and sixth respectively
The field was reduced to 17 cars for the session
as Tony Auddino's Super3 Falcon suffered engine dramas that kept it out of both sessions today
Reuben Goodall was also a non-starter for the session and the remainder following his heavy crash in Boost Mobile Qualifying for Race 11 earlier this afternoon

The session was declared wet prior to its commencement
and the whole field rolled out on wet tyres on a drying track
Around half the field would come straight back into pit lane to change onto dry tyres
and Aaron Cameron set the best of the banker times on wets with a 1:14.5216s
However, the dry tyre was immediately a second quicker in the hands of Cameron’s teammate Mason Kelly
Zach Bates was the best of the first dry tyre runs on a 1:09.4835s, ahead of Cameron McLeod on a 1:09.4860s
An off-sequence Jordyn Sinni would go to the top on a 1:09.4479s in his Eggleston Commodore
as the field rolled out for their green tyre runs with about six minutes remaining
The final green tyre run would prove to be the fastest Dunlop Series run of the weekend
with Cooper Murray the first to lay down a serious marker on a 1:09.1886s
The Eggleston driver was soon knocked off the top spot by Hughes
who set his first sub-1:09s lap with a 1:08.9831s
Murray had two more flying laps that looked likely to threaten Hughes’ marker
before Hughes improved further on his last lap to lock in pole
Murray would be bumped down to third late by Brad Vaughan

The transponder he was running was attributed to Milwaukee Ducati
which is what the TAS Racing squad will run as in 2025 in British Superbikes

BRAD Vaughan demolished the Dunlop Series field to claim pole position for the category’s opening race of the Bathurst 1000 weekend, a session that proved disastrous for points leader Kai Allen
The Eggleston Motorsport pilot sat fifth as he embarked on his final lap but crashed the #1 Holden heavily at Reid Park
The crash curtailed the session with a minute remaining
the red flags also costing Allen his fastest lap and demoting him to 15th in the final standings
if Allen’s car will be repaired in time for the opening race later this afternoon
It was a rough morning for the leading title contenders, with Zach Bates only 13th after suffering a puncture during his final qualifying runs
Only 18 cars hit the track for the 20-minute affair
with one runner missing from both Super2 and Super3
Mason Kelly’s crash in Thursday practice ruled him out for the remainder of the weekend, while Super3 rookie Bailey Sweeny sat out qualifying while Image Racing changed an engine in the #999 Holden
Aaron Cameron
set the early benchmark despite a lurid slide at Reid Park in the same spot his Kelly Racing teammate crashed yesterday
before Vaughan leapt to the top with the first ‘five’ of the Dunlop Series weekend
He was soon demoted by rookies Jobe Stewart and Jarrod Hughes
The trio held sway after the opening runs ahead of Rylan Gray, Bates, Max Vidau, Lochie Dalton, Super3 runner Thomas Maxwell, Cameron and Cody Gillis
while points leader Allen sat just outside the top 10
He rectified that as soon as the second and final runs started
leaping to the top with four minutes remaining with a 2m05.6019s
But Vaughan blew that time out of the water a couple of minutes later with the first ‘four’ of the weekend
laying down a 2m04.7537s that proved good enough for pole by over half a second
He also enjoyed a slice of luck; Bates suffered his puncture and was limping the #25 Holden back to the pits
but arrived there just before Vaughan swept past to complete his pole lap
Most of the top guns had fired their last shots when the red flags came out for Allen’s crash
leaving Stewart to start alongside Vaughan on the front row of the grid
Gray and Dalton made it three Tickford Autosports entries in the top four ahead of Cameron, Vidau, Hughes, Jordyn Sinni, and Campbell Logan, with Reuben Goodall rounding out the top 10
Maxwell held on for the Super3 pole with the 12th fastest time overall, while his MW Motorsport teammate Cody Burcher finished 16th aboard a Nissan Altima repaired after his crash on Thursday afternoon
