Please upgrade your browser to improve your experience I first met Miranda at a work event — she was giving me a facial and made a comment about how tight my neck was and spend a lot of time with my osteopath — I could tell she knew what she was talking about She invited me into her space for a proper treatment and it was probably the best remedial massage I've ever had — the kind that is deeply intuitive An expert in self-care and movement I asked her to share her background with 'RUSSH' and her best advice for DIY massage at home (essential skills for those of us who hold tension in our jaw It’s not just about looks but how we feel in our own skin I see beauty in the way people nurture their bodies I think it's about listening to what your body and mind need; not just ticking off face masks and baths (although those are great too). It’s taking time to rest, move or do breath work when life gets overwhelming. I see self-care as the small consistent choices that keep us feeling like ourselves my friends would always ask me for a back massage while we watched movies during a sleep over She was always asking for a back massage after a long day in the garden I guess I’ve always enjoyed helping people feel better — it feels natural to me I started my journey into massage while working at a Physiotherapy clinic for five years Watching people recover from injuries and regain their strength was incredibly inspiring I got to see firsthand how manual therapy and prescribed exercises could transform someone’s life I realised I wanted to be part of the process and help people feel better in their bodies Stress — something we all deal with (myself included) We tend to hold a lot of tension in our shoulders and neck without even realising it Our bodies are hardwired to tense up as a self-defence mechanism when we’re stressed Slouching or staring at a screen for hours can cause the muscles in our shoulders and neck to stay tight It's interesting that with ongoing treatment so many of my patients improve not just physically My technique is all about finding the root cause of the problem It’s not just about releasing tension—it’s about understanding why it’s there in the first place we can stop tension from turning into a chronic issue I use a deep tissue massage balm from New Zealand. It contains Emu oil, which has anti-inflammatory properties that help with muscle recovery, reduce inflammation and improve circulation. I also use sweet almond oil for the face because it's rich vitamin E to nourish the skin. It also provides a smooth glide. For hair and scalp, I love Aiya hair oil It's 100% organic and packed with essential oils like lavender and rosemary to support hair growth while also calming the nervous system The first thing I do is drink a big glass of water your body is naturally dehydrated — rehydrating first thing helps to kickstart digestion Then I splash my face with cold water (a mini shock to the system, in a good way). It wakes me up and helps to reduce puffiness. I follow up with Cetaphil face wash and Cetaphil moisturiser But I always take time to massage it in using upward motions — this helps support circulation skin elasticity and gives me a little glow for the day ahead I’m not a skincare guru in the slightest but this routine works for me I like a tinted moisturiser from Ilia for a bit of coverage maybe a little bit of mascara to brighten up my eyes I’m not a fan of wearing a lot of makeup on my face My evening routine is very similar to my morning one but with a few small tweaks to help me unwind gently breaking up the fascia to release any tightness then work upwards to lift and relax my skin I pay extra attention to the area under my cheekbones Sleep is a big priority for me. I need at least eight hours to feel my best, especially since my job is so physically demanding. I take BioCeuticals magnesium tablets before bed it's made such a huge difference in my sleep quality and recovery usually Child’s Pose and Thread the Needle I try to stay off my phone and avoid too much blue light before bed I’ll either read a book or play Sudoku (my guilty pleasure) A post shared by Frame Work (@framework_bymiranda) The first thing I do when I get home from work is jump straight into a hot always making sure it’s a good balance of protein and vegetables Occasionally I’ll treat myself to a glass of red wine because why not One of my go-to techniques is stomach massage which I always do in a clockwise direction to support digestion and reduce bloating after meals Depending on how sensitive I’m feeling that day I’ll adjust the pressure — sometimes a light touch is best I start by applying oil (I normally use sweet almond oil but you can use anything you have at home) to help my hands glide smoothly then use my fingertips to make gentle circular motions around my belly button I use my palms or knuckles to massage deeper soothing strokes to relax the area and promote movement I start by warming a small amount of oil (again your choice) in my hands and applying it to my neck and shoulders I use my fingertips to glide from the base of my skill down to my shoulders a few times to loosen everything up I press into them with my thumbs or knuckles holding for a few seconds while taking deep breaths circular motions along my upper traps and the base of my neck I finish by tilting my head from side to side for a gentle stretch and rolling my shoulders I focus on releasing tension around my cheeks A lot of people forget that the forehead actually continues into the scalp so I make sure to massage right past the hairline This not only helps to release tension but also stimulates the hair follicles I absolutely love Capybara in Surry Hills with the option to move between the ice bath I always leave feeling like I’m floating and I’ve given RUSSH Media Pty Ltd the most important lesson is the power of staying true to the mission,” Kerr shared in an interview with Forbes over Zoom “There are many moments of pressure to cut corners but you have to stay firm in maintaining quality and authenticity.” This commitment to quality has been her guiding principle throughout KORA’s development The brand originated from Kerr’s personal quest for effective skin care products she could confidently use herself and share with loved ones Kerr’s brand was born out of a desire to help people and give them the results they needed without jeopardizing their health Kerr continues to expand her knowledge about skin care while growing both personally and professionally Her journey demonstrates that building a purposeful brand requires patience and unwavering focus while focusing on the needs of an evolving customer base it comes with limitations: pregnant women can’t use it “If you look at the before and after pictures the results speak for themselves,” Kerr explains our retinol alternative moisturizer impressed 90% of dedicated retinol users who reported better results for fine lines and wrinkles compared to traditional retinol.” At the heart of KORA’s formulations is noni extract, an ingredient with personal significance for Kerr. “I have been drinking noni juice since I was young for both its internal and external benefits,” she shares “My grandmother introduced it to me when I was 13 and would suggest applying it directly to treat my acne I had through my teenage years.” native to Tahiti but also grown in Australia is packed with vitamin C and contains over 100 antioxidants It works at the cellular level to support skin rejuvenation delivering the radiant complexion KORA customers seek It’s been Kerr’s “hero ingredient” since day one and every single product contains it drawing from her studies in Nutrition and Health Psychology at Australia’s Academy of Natural Living and her certification as a health coach Her commitment to organic ingredients intensified after her mother’s cancer diagnosis “What we realized is that what you put on your skin goes in,” Kerr reflects “We were horrified to discover potentially carcinogenic ingredients in mainstream products which strengthened our dedication to certified organic formulations.” Given that clean beauty is a trend that has become mainstream Kerr draws a crucial distinction between “clean beauty” and “certified organic” – a difference that defines KORA Organics’ unique market position “Certified organic means you’re avoiding pesticides and unnecessary chemicals while getting 60% more antioxidants,” Kerr explains you’re not getting those three things because it’s very different.” This evolution in consumer priorities has shaped KORA’s approach to business As a carbon-neutral and climate-neutral brand KORA offsets its environmental impact through tree planting This commitment extends to their innovative approach to packaging updates Rather than following industry norms of discarding old inventory when updating packaging designs, KORA launched an archival sale “I don’t want anything to go to waste,” Kerr states we’re giving the community a chance to stock up on moisturizers exfoliating masks and more at 20% off until they sell through.” This strategy represents a win-win scenario: preventing waste while offering value to customers without compromising on the formula it’s the same high performing formula that customers love while the brand moves forward with its packaging evolution without compromising its sustainability principles Miranda Kerr has discovered that parenthood offers valuable lessons in entrepreneurship though balancing family and career presents its challenges “I need to stop micromanaging and need to step back,” Kerr admits She emphasizes the importance of establishing routines and building trust in her team empowering them to advance the company’s mission while she balances her responsibilities Kerr has observed how parenthood naturally draws customers to KORA Organics you want the best for yourself in those postpartum days and for your children,” she explains This awareness has influenced KORA’s development as a family-friendly brand The universal appeal of KORA products transcends gender boundaries “More and more men are embracing it,” Kerr notes mentioning that her husband is “obsessed with” the turmeric brightening and exfoliating mask she applies the brand’s body oil and lotion on her children finding them particularly beneficial during teething “This is what we all use in our house,” she shares proudly “I want this to be a unisex product that every member in your household can benefit from That’s how we build repeat customers who understand that health is wealth.” This holistic approach to family wellness reflects Kerr’s commitment to creating products that nurture both body and business and prove that when personal values align with professional vision This I wanted to know what really makes her glow, what products she personally uses—and, of course, whether they actually work for someone who doesn’t live in Malibu or get facials between meetings So I asked her to share her top five KORA picks And then I did what any self-respecting beauty editor would—I put them to the test This wasn’t about calling everything a holy grail It was about meeting Miranda Kerr in the middle: her ritual Just: “These five products keep my skin balanced She speaks with the ease of someone who’s lived this ritual “The Noni Glow Face Oil has been my holy grail for years,” she said “And the Milky Mushroom Mask is what I end my day with—it seals everything in.” I wanted to understand that ritual beyond the marketing, what it looked like in practice. Her top cleanser? The Active Algae Calming Cleansing Balm. “It melts makeup, SPF, stress—everything. And it smells beautiful.” The rose quartz roller is cooling—it’s part of the ritual.” “It gives me that at-home facial feeling when I need a boost.” it can go from glazed-doughnut to greasy-fast lit-from-within vibe without needing blotting sheets aromatic balm that melts off the day without leaving a film but it cushions your skin after a long week of using too many actives or new products (guilty) I layered it on post-retinol and woke up with skin that looked genuinely rested Not in a “banish all signs of fatigue” way but in a “you look less dead behind the eyes” way I’ve popped this in the fridge for now - and it seems like this is the one thing I would consistently look forward to using Kerr told me this one came straight from the heart “It was the first product I created—for myself “My grandmother introduced me to Noni when I was 13 That’s when I realised—this isn’t a brand built in a boardroom that happen to come in very aesthetic packaging Kerr’s glow isn’t just good genes. It’s habit, hydration, and skin listening. Do I love all five products KORA isn’t fantasy skincare—it’s ritual skincare Kerr’s routine reminds you to slow down—and that might just be where the glow starts Sign-up to the latest news from Australian Women’s Weekly Disclaimer: By joining, you agree to our Privacy Policy & Terms of Use Miranda Tapsell and her husband James Colley announced she is pregnant with their second child with a joint post on Instagram: “Who doesn’t love a sequel?” we will be welcoming a new member of our little family and we couldn’t be happier Congratulations to the growing family Miranda sat down with The Weekly to discuss navigating the rollercoaster that is motherhood Miranda Tapsell has loved to play dress-ups So when The Weekly crew arrive at the lavish location we’ve hired for today’s shoot — an incredible heritage home in prime Sydney eastern suburbs real estate — the actor is in her element she spins to better show off one of the designer outfits she’s donned for the day “Welcome to my hooooome,” she says “I’m riiiiicchhhhh,” before dissolving into a fit of giggles that feels far more like the Miranda we all know and love has been with the actor since her earliest years she says later as we sit down after cycling through a range of outfits and poses around the property Miranda often felt underestimated growing up Her height (in bare feet Miranda stands at a diminutive 149cm her youth and her heritage have all played a role in her choice of career and how she tackles it I just think people don’t know how to talk to young girls,” she says now of those earliest experiences of feeling overlooked music and television just wasn’t given the same weight or depth that was given to young boys my age “My height is one of the big reasons why I became an actor because the camera plays tricks on people’s eyes “Being short isn’t the worst thing in the world It’s how people used to begin their conversations with me ‘When the world stops growing.’ But when I started on stage ‘When you are on stage it’s like you’re 10 feet tall I chose something to be good at and I stuck to it And I’ve worked hard for sure.” who drummed into her only child the importance of discipline this would be more important for her than others ‘You being late is different to your friends being late’,” Miranda says I remember people making a big deal of me being late but you couldn’t quite pull them up on it and say ‘Why was it a big deal that I was late and not my non-Indigenous co-star?’ Or ‘Why did you not make such a fuss when another girl from my dance class was late but you made a fuss out of me not being on time?’ It’s really hard to pin that on people “I have all these little things so that people see me as a hardworking individual I’m really proud of the fact that people say And if she is late – which happens now that I have a kid – there is a courtesy call or message to let you know’.” Miranda has found her attitude to plenty of things — including work — has changed since becoming a mother. It’s also safe to say that today’s act of dressing up is a welcome relief from the spills (as well as the obvious thrills) of parenting a toddler I’m not ready for her,” she says with a raucous laugh while regaling us with tales of her strong-willed daughter who certainly seems to have inherited her mother’s inner fire “She’s at that age where she is determined to do something on her own — you can’t show her how to do it “My life has changed so much. And it’s really made James [Colley, Miranda’s husband] and I think of what we want out of our life and out of our careers because our time is so much more precious Time away from Grace needs to be worth it.” That’s what made her latest project so special, she says. Miranda is part of the A-list cast of the Disney+ series The Artful Dodger Set 15 years after the events of Charles Dickens’ book Oliver Twist the series picks up with Jack Dawkins — or Dodger as we best remember him — attempting to leave his life of crime behind him in Australia a seemingly meek and mild housemaid who turns out to be the most fearsome bushranger in town She rules the roost not only in her illicit business dealings but also in her relationships And as someone who has long loved Dickens’ novels and the strong women within them it spoke to Miranda in a way she couldn’t ignore “Someone who is misunderstood and underestimated can yield so much power,” she says Also exciting was the opportunity to flex her skills off-screen as well as on Miranda was enlisted as a story consultant on the script a wonderful way to continue strengthening her ability as a writer and storyteller so I really chase every opportunity that I can get,” she says of the additional writing she was able to do “Even if it’s just a little cog in the wheel I’m just super happy to be there.” While motherhood is a thrill and a constant improvisation of its own it makes her a better parent — one who can find the humour in her toddler’s shopping centre meltdowns along with joy in the monotony of doing endless piles of laundry and the other myriad housework chores a small child creates “I don’t think I could be at home the whole time,” Miranda admits that’s right.’ It’s not all I am anymore going to work is an uplifting thing because I really appreciate being with Grace and being her mum It’s because I get to have those other facets of my life In addition to his role as head writer of ABC TV’s Gruen at the time of writing he’s about to release his book Dad has Grace’s laser-focused attention “She’s switched parents in terms of who is her favourite,” Miranda giggles “She had a big meltdown this morning over Dad going to work and I felt like we’d turned a real corner Mum,’ and Dad wasn’t getting any kisses or cuddles it’s nice that the tables have turned and now she’s sick of Mum He’s such an attentive and affectionate father.” Did she not die a little on the inside the first time she was passed over in favour of Dad I was relieved,” she says with another peal of laughter “Because when she does give you affection She sits on your lap so you can’t move anywhere I love my daughter and it’s very endearing when she is giving you that kind of attention but you are exhausted at the end of the day Learning to say ‘no’ has been part of the parenthood journey “We are never going to get that right.” But using that two-letter word and admitting that she has nothing left in the tank is liberating “I get the shakes when I say it because I think ‘How am I going to manage the other person’s emotions and expectations when I’ve done that?’,” she explains adding that James is far better at it than she is “Because I can’t take it back once I’ve said ‘no’ And it’s not just ‘no’ she’s learning to vocalise asking for help and accepting it has been another by-product of motherhood – one that she relishes “There’s something liberating in just asking for something,” she says Miranda adds that she’s also learning to be kinder to herself in many aspects of life “If you don’t get it then you haven’t lost anything But you’re not going to die wondering either.” they have a strong support network helping them raise Grace James’ relatives and good friends in their current home base of Sydney are the villages they depend upon “I can’t try to isolate myself and do it all because I know I can’t,” she says Their village also helps the couple to make time for each other outside their Baby Shark duty Watching James soften his funny guy façade to be vulnerable with his daughter has shown Miranda a new side of the man she fell in love with As has his willingness to be all-in on the journey with her Miranda plans to ask her mum and dad to babysit so she and James can go out to dinner “I’ve got my hair and make-up done I can’t let this go to waste,” she says with another peal of laughter is the magic ingredient she needs to negotiate this new life stage And far better at improvising when things don’t go according to plan Where once she’d berate herself for not getting things 100 per cent right now she does her best to find the humour in the mishaps that inevitably arise when a small human is involved “I’m learning to be a little bit less hard on myself,” she says “I’m dusting myself off better.” As the face of Audible — home of audiobooks and podcasts galore — it’s unsurprising to hear that she’s a fan of listening to self-help tomes taking notes on the bits of wisdom she finds useful whilst happily discarding those that don’t serve saying she’ll often underline or highlight a phrase or paragraph that gives her insight Grace is getting an early start on this, too. Her nursery is filled with prints of inspiring women and quotes, including one from Dolly Parton which says “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” she was just weeks away from Grace’s birth — her belly huge and the days beginning to drag ‘I really want a brave little girl because I need a brave little girl’,” she says now that doesn’t always happen but I got exactly what I asked for.” Grace Birri-Pa Purnarrika Colley arrived in late 2021 Miranda would love to be able to give her daughter a sibling she says — especially as she grew up as an only child herself But having had a tough journey to fall pregnant with Grace “I’m aware my 40s aren’t far off,” she adds “So it’s one of those things where I’ve just got to be very grateful for what I have right now The Artful Dodger is available to stream on Disney+. From her late teens onwards she suffered from “too many itises” – bronchitis, tonsilitis, pericarditis, gastroenteritis, labyrinthitis – along with blood clots Many were the times she would wake up exhausted wondering how she would get through the day Matters reached a head a decade ago when she collapsed at home after which she was bedbound with a “total ghost-like weakness” Just a short walk outside “was as hard as anything I had done I would stand in the road feeling as if I had to remind my brain how to put one foot in front of the other I would look at a cup of tea on the table and wonder if I had the strength to take a sip.” It is an attempt to make the best of a terrible situation by coaching others who may be struggling Hart’s book, then, is about what she has learned from being chronically ill and the thought processes, practices and research that have helped in her recovery. Having been let down by doctors, Hart sought answers in self-help literature, which is extensively referenced and quoted here. As is often the way with self-help, some of the advice is sage and lodged in science while some is trite and blindingly obvious. Hart has organised what she has learned into sections she calls “treasures”. These include the benefits of talking about your suffering (as opposed to trying to hide it), surrendering to a negative or challenging situation (rather than stoically soldiering on) and the importance of self-compassion (instead of berating yourself for all that has gone wrong). Read moreIn a narrative that moves between funny observation and treacly truism (plus a scattering of fart jokes) Hart embraces the language of living “authentically” finding the “loved and loving” person within and revealing her “wild Hart insists on addressing the reader as “My Dear Reader Chum” (MDRC for short) and talking of revelatory moments in her learning as “heavy revvies” this will either delight you or drive you mad I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You isn’t just about Hart explaining her absence over the past decade It is also an attempt to make the best of a terrible situation by coaching others who may be struggling with long-term health conditions and the grief and loss of confidence that often accompanies them It’s all very well to consult a therapist about facing down the physical symptoms of anxiety but sometimes you just want to hear from someone who has been there Hart tells another story here with a coyness that suggests even her tendency to overshare has its limits at a point when she had all but resigned herself to remaining single she began tentatively dating someone whom she refers to as “The Boy” Her account of slowly letting her guard down being vulnerable and “open[ing] the Hart heart up to love” is sweet and moving and proof that happiness is possible even in the most trying times I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You by Miranda Hart is published by Michael Joseph (£25). In addition, he’s been nominated twice at the Oscars But there’s one particular statuette that has a special place in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s heart “It’s a math expressions award that I won in 11th grade,” the Hamilton star and creator tells The Weekly on a Zoom call from his home in New York “I was a straight C and D grade student in math Yalos who allowed us to do creative projects to demonstrate that we understood the principles being taught I got a B and a little statue that is somewhere around here.” there’s only one of his works that has managed to really impress them “I got some major points when I got to play Major Tom the horse in Bluey,” he laughs “Bluey is definitely top of the list of what my kids like that I have been a part of his latest project may just change that… I was still finishing Encanto and I was pretty burnt out I read the screenplay and was blown away by how surprised I was We all think of Mufasa as a superdad who lives in the clouds and sounds like James Earl Jones It was a portrait of the lion as a young cub and everything I thought I knew about him was totally upended and surprising I felt like I knew where the songs went on that first read Yeah, 100 per cent. And even more than that, my kids really love The Lion Guard, which is the Disney+ series and also has incredible songs I never even considered Elton John’s reaction The one I claimed as my own was The Little Mermaid The moment Sebastian the Crab started singing a calypso Caribbean number — I was never the same after that I saw it three times in the theatre — I took three different adults to take me I called in sick from school the day it came out on VHS so that I could be the first to have it at the low price of $19.99 When we first went to the UK — because that production happened first — reporters would ask me ‘Are you worried that we don’t know anything about American history over here?’ And I would say we don’t know that much about American history I honestly think the secret sauce of the show is that I’m learning this stuff as I’m musicalising it for you.’” I just don’t know that I can top what I did the fun about musicals and the reason they’re my favourite genre is that they can encompass so many things Musicals continue to push the boundaries of what kind of stories they can tell So I’m always going to try to chase what I haven’t done It’s A Wonderful Life is a very special Christmas movie We’re lucky enough to live pretty close to both sets of parents We live in the same neighbourhood we grew up in who Lin-Manuel first met in high school) has kind of seized control of Christmas We usually have everyone come to our house and if it’s not our house it’s my sister’s house over the river in New Jersey Stream Mufasa: The Lion King on Disney+ from March 26 with a mth-to-mth no lock-in contract. Subscribe here. From drinking a litre of celery juice every morning to help with her IBS to a concealer cheat that makes her look this good on Zoom it turns out supermodels can be surprisingly relatable practically glows out of my screen – and it’s very hard to believe that she just had a baby We’re chatting over Zoom from her Los Angeles home where she lives with her billionaire husband Evan Spiegel the 34-year-old Snapchat founder and their three children from her first marriage to actor Orlando Bloom when it comes to ageing (and possibly everything else) my own camera angles have never quite looked so brutal as they do sitting opposite a literal supermodel Yet I instantly feel relaxed around Miranda As her equally gorgeous golden-haired cavapoochon barrels in and out of her minimalist white office background she opens up about the pressure she puts on herself as a mother how she’s an exercise procrastinator and struggles with neck pain from breastfeeding But it’s somewhere between confessing that she has IBS and brandishing a bunch of the celery that she juices daily to help with her gut health that I realise: this superwoman is surprisingly human given that since rising to fame as the first Australian Victoria’s Secret model in 2007 she’s walked for everyone from Dior to Chanel and Givenchy – and has been consistently ranked by Forbes as one of the highest-earning supermodels Kerr is more than just a pretty face: she is also the savvy Kora Organics – the certified organic skincare brand she founded (and invested all her money into) in 2009 This was inspired by her mother’s experience of spleen cancer “We realised that what you put on your skin soaks in not just clean – because clean wasn’t even a thing back then – using ingredients that are internally good for you too” From moisturisers to masks, supplements and cleansers (her latest launch being the new Active Algae Calming Cleansing Balm) they’re formulated with organic ingredients – which some studies have found to contain 60 per cent more antioxidants than non-organic fruit and veg – such as turmeric She juggles all of this alongside raising her four children – but if you’d think childcare wouldn’t be an issue for the super-rich “My mother worked and unfortunately wasn’t able to be as involved in our lives “Even when we have someone to watch the kids I just want to be with them if I’m in the same house” After having her eldest at 27, Kerr says she felt the pressure to get back to work – and was literally walking in Paris Fashion Week two months later. But, she admits that it’s different having a baby in your forties. This time, she took a much gentler, slower approach to postpartum recovery with Pierre, kickstarting a longer maternity leave over the summer by following a book called The First Forty Days by Heng Ou – which involved 45 days of intensive bonding (think: plenty of skin-to-skin contact “Now I prioritise my family over anything else and they come first then health and wellness.I feel like health is wealth” the more I can give to the kids because I feel like I’ve filled up my cup” A supermodel has entered the chat: GTG’s Florence talking wellness with Miranda Kerr poring over all of the latest health tech (much to the bemusement of her techie husband who she says is always laughing at her latest gadgets and gizmos) “All these hacks are to try to support me to live my crazy lifestyle” as she bounds away for the millionth time to go fetch whatever new elixir she wants to enthusiastically demo for me This is not another celebrity jumping on the clean living fad bandwagon: in fact I’m not sure I’ve met anyone else as genuinely obsessed with health and wellness (except for When I broach the topic of Botox she keeps shtum saying only that it’s not even an option for her currently she’s adamant that her skincare regime gets natural results – and can’t resist swooping super close to the camera to proudly show me her non-existent wrinkles As for all of her other secrets to looking – and feeling – so good Each morning Miranda drinks one litre of organic celery juice on an empty stomach, over the course of a few hours. She cold presses a whole bunch each time in the Omega MM1500 Celery Slow Juicer and has a special celery drawer in her fridge – which she keeps stocked up by visiting her local farmer’s market twice a week she recommends starting with a glass and working up It’s a ritual she’s been doing religiously for six years since being diagnosed with proctitis “It’s an auto-immune thing and they don’t necessarily have the answers to why But she thinks that the anti-inflammatory benefits of celery have helped to improve her gut health as she is now in remission according to a recent colonoscopy she makes extra for her husband and son Flynn but my husband always has his coffee first – he’s like nothing is gonna take me away from my coffee!” serum on top of her makeup several times a day as she puts it: “You can keep your head out and even be on a business call – I like to multitask!” For a good hair care brand that is natural, Miranda recommends Rahua: she uses their Classic Shampoo and Conditioner and she finds the woody scent de-stressing “it closes the hair shaft and gives your hair that shine” £127.20: it looks like a felt-tip pen and contains a tingling formula of peppermint eucalyptus and lavender for soothing aches and pains She rolls it onto her neck to ease breastfeeding pains my husband had a headache – and he’s been so anti this for so long because he says it smells so minty – but it completely eased it” A post shared by Megan Roup (@meganroup) such as the four-minute postpartum dancing arms with your baby bitesize workouts fit best into her busy childcare and work schedule: “I think another ten minutes there – and you feel less pressure” she admits that even she can be a bit of an exercise procrastinator she’s adopted a new mantra that she heard about on the Diary of a CEO podcast which she listens to while on the treadmill Like various high-profile mums – from Chrissy Teigen to several Kardashians (and even one of our GTG writers) – Kerr has tried a niche practice called ‘placenta encapsulation’ where your placenta is freeze-dried and turned into capsules that you can take to supposedly help balance hormones but she says she felt better after taking them for one month postpartum she had some of it bottled into a tincture that you can keep taking as she puts it: “for those days when you’re just feeling a little off” She’s done it with all of her children and uses the same woman every time but can’t remember her name – “she’s just saved as placenta lady on my phone!” Another on-the-go essential for Miranda is her Theragun Mini £109 – a pocket massage gun which she uses to soothe the aches and pains in her neck and shoulders from breastfeeding Pierre She still does a mix of feeding and pumping every three hours and says:”I keep it on me at all times and it has helped so much: it’s my best friend!” A post shared by Miranda Kerr (@mirandakerr) Once a week Miranda goes for a hyperbaric oxygen treatment – and like our GTG staffer, is a huge fan of its energising benefits This involves breathing 100 per cent pure oxygen in a compressed chamber (whereas the air we normally breathe is only 21 per cent oxygen) as it is thought to have major health benefits – from reducing inflammation to healing damaged tissue And Kerr thinks that it’s one of many lifestyle changes this year which has helped in her recovery from proctitis Although she’s tried many diets over the years, Miranda is currently following a recipe book by Dr Steven Gundry called Gut Check: Unleash the Power of Your Microbiome to Reverse Disease and Transform Your Mental, Physical and Emotional Health The idea is that you avoid foods that contain high quantities of lectins veg and grains that has been – somewhat controversially – linked to digestive problems Although this diet has been criticised for lack of scientific evidence Kerr is convinced that this has helped to improve her gut health this year Kora Organics’ new Active Algae Calming Cleansing Balm, £43 is available now Sign up to receive curated edits of the best beauty and wellness features Tough business conditions have claimed another well-known local firm with Howard's Storage World at Westfield Miranda closing after more than 18 years who owned two newsagencies in Gymea before buying the home storage franchise and owning it since but they couldn't afford the "very big" rent increase "Business has been tough - online shopping is killing everyone," he said but that's business and you have to move on "[Scentre Group] always have someone new ready to come in." It's what she does for a job after all. She's an actress, an author, a television personality and — perhaps the most challenging of all — a mum too. Pia's kids — Lily (14 years old) and Jimmy (11 years old) — have recently hit the "tween" age. While she recognises that it's important to connect with kids across their whole lives, Pia told me it's more critical than ever at this age. When speaking to Pia about her thoughts on parenting tweens, I noticed she kept coming back to the same metaphor — the image of filling up a well. "Parents, and especially working parents, can have so much guilt around not having enough time with their kids," she told me. "I know that sometimes I do feel guilty, but it's about finding the moments where you can fill the well when the well feels empty. It's about recognising when that well of connection is a little low and finding ways to top it back up."  And filling up that well becomes more crucial the more time kids spend on their phones.  "It's an interesting discussion about kids on phones," Pia told me. "We were locked down for so long in Melbourne, and the only way my kids could connect with their friends was online." "It's meant I need to be super checked-in with what they're doing and let them know that I'm always checking in. I don't want them to feel like I'm spying, but I do have access to everything they do. I tell them that whatever they put out on the internet, they should imagine on a billboard or on their work resume — it stays there forever."  Critically, she knows that getting kids offline and making family memories is one of the most important ways to ensure they don't fall into negative habits online.  "I spend a lot of time with my kids so that, if I need to go away, we've had that time together," she said. For Pia, work trips are a fairly regular occurrence. Pia competed on Dancing With The Stars last year, and has recently finished filming The Big Trip, a reality television series where four teams race across Australia to reach the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Filming The Big Trip took Pia away from her kids for a while, but she's come home with more ideas than ever on how to drag them away from their screens.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pia Miranda (@_piamiranda) Pia raves about her experience on The Big Trip citing seeing whales and dolphins in Ceduna She loved driving cross-country across Australia in a Hyundai EV on the show "I've never been more excited about a car in my life," she laughed "The whole electric vehicle thing is a game-changer for road-tripping venture into the shops and refuel with a coffee — all while the car is charging Pia also explained that the Hyundai EV allowed her and her teammate to visit places in iconic Aussie terrain that might have seemed off-limits for EVs — proving that this was definitely not the case The Big Trip has made Pia reflect on the value of taking road trips with her own kids and encouraged her to plan another one in the near future.  "I'm lucky because my kids are older now and they can join me and really get into them There's nothing my kids and I love better than stopping off at a little town and going to their local bakery You'll see if you watch The Big Trip — my whole modus operandi is bakeries!"  "My kids and I all really love souvenir shops We love to drive somewhere and go for a beautiful walk visit a place we've never been before and just follow our noses." I asked her about the specific things her family does to connect with each other on road trips and she told me (no pun intended) that with tweens and teenagers "A road trip is a really good way to find out what your teens and tweens are interested in My daughter actually got me into Tyler The Creator while we were in the car and now that's what we listen to on drives." I just always ask questions and am interested in the answers." When it comes to taking tweens on road trips as a chance to fill up that metaphorical well "Even if it's just a day trip in summertime there's a lot of stressful and scary stuff going on in their worlds It's nice to just be involved in stuff that's offline and just about having fun."  Check out The Big Trip on Channel 7 to watch Pia explore Australia from west to east. I call him Peaceful Pierre.   mc: Did you take some time off for the pregnancy?   But I took some time off in front of the camera; I’m back in full swing now mc: We can imagine that life is pretty busy now Can you give us a snapshot of what a morning is like at your house now that you have four young boys?  MK: We’re both up before the kids are up My husband is up every morning at 5.30am; he has done that since I met him 10 years ago I’m up between 4.30 at 5.30am which gives me a little bit of time to do my routine It depends on how I’m feeling; I might do a little bit of yoga The kids are getting up by 6.45am so it’s busy with breakfast and breastfeeding and that’s when Pierre goes down for his nap It’s juggling the work commitments that I have I can work from home and I manage that as best I can but I still want to make sure that I’m there for the baby and the breastfeeding and all that.   mc: What’s your exercise of choice during your 20-minute morning workouts?  which lets you do a quick 10-minute or 20-minute workout They have postpartum and prenatal programs mc: Can you tell us just a little bit about Baby2Baby non-profit organisation and why you decided to join with them?  MK: I’m on the board at Baby2Baby because I feel that they’re such an incredible organisation that support children in need They really help people that aren’t able to buy those staples like nappies and formula and the essential needs for their children It’s incredible for me to get our family involved It’s something that Flynn and the boys enjoy doing; donating their time and helping pack the boxes.   you’ve been in the beauty industry since you were a teenager MK: I feel like as cliché as it might sound it does come from being comfortable in your own skin and really just shining [from] your heart and shining your light It’s really about feeling comfortable in your own skin and comfortable with who you are as a person and expressing wholeheartedly all of the wonderful things that you have to offer this world.   mc: You’ve been a pioneer of organic skincare for a long time and now people are starting to really take organic on board and understand its benefits Why do you think people are more receptive to organic and understanding how effective it can be?  MK: The reason I started Kora as a certified organic brand was because my mum had cancer in her spleen We had to really look at everything we were doing from a 360-degree approach as a family What products we were using and what ingredients sink into skin [experts] say we should be aware of what we’re putting on our skin But I don’t feel like we have to just be concerned when we’re pregnant which is why I wanted to have a certified organic brand People are becoming more fascinated and excited about organic because an organic ingredient has up to 60% more antioxidants It’s why our products are getting incredible results; you’re avoiding the unnecessary chemicals and we’re getting up to 60% more antioxidants because of these certified organic ingredients.   mc: Can you talk me through the new cleansing balm and how it fits into your routine?  MK: The Cleansing Balm has active algae and is buttery soft It just melts away your makeup and is super soothing So my nighttime routine is to have a quick bath with Pierre but I don’t get a chance to remove my makeup I use the cleansing balm to remove my makeup It is incredible how gentle and effective it is; it doesn’t leave any residue on your skin There are pineapple enzymes in there too to deeply clean your skin without stripping it so you’ll notice mc: If someone wanted to live a more organic lifestyle how would you suggest they start?   MK: It’s really important to read and educate yourself on the ingredients in everything that you’re using because many products can claim to be natural when they only have one natural ingredient but that’s just their own definition of clean We have a certification process from world certification body and they have the strictest rules when it comes to everything from ingredients to packaging and so it guarantees that our products meet the highest sustainability [measures].   mc: What products would you recommend we start with?   mc: Katy Perry is said to also be a fan of Kora…  but she really wanted to get that glow and this product does that My husband uses the Turmeric Scrub every day in the shower and the Turmeric Glow Moisturiser with the Noni Glow Face Oil I’m personally obsessed with the plant stem cell range because it’s very focused on anti-aging Sally Hunwick is an award-winning journalist with a long-running career both in Australia and in the UK Sally is passionate about all things beauty and health and loves inspiring her readers with the latest beauty news Sign up to receive the TV WEEK e-Newsletter and offers we choose to share with you straight to your inbox  Renowned Australian actress Miranda Tapsell has revealed some VERY exciting news – she’s expecting another child!
