that moment arrived after a decade in their beautifully renovated Federation worker’s cottage in Swanbourne
It was a home they had thought would be their forever home
one that witnessed the birth of their two daughters
Not only had it been lovingly transformed throughout the years
with luxuries like a butler’s pantry to a large kitchen and an en suite to a main bedroom
but it was also within walking distance of shops and restaurants and conveniently close to the train line for work commutes
It was the perfect family home until life nudged them in a different direction
we realised we wanted a larger backyard and a quieter street,” Jasmine says
I also decided to pursue my art career full-time instead of returning to a secure job
so we decided to sell our finished home and buy another renovator’s delight at a slightly lower price point.”
the small room she used as a studio and the kitchen counter for pottery wasn’t cutting it anymore
How this family’s big move got them everything they were looking for
How the right artwork can help attract buyers and sell your home
which sparked a frantic search for a new place in Perth’s rapidly escalating property market
their luck turned when a 1950s cottage in Mosman Park popped up
“I loved the look of this house from the pictures
but what really excited me was the mention of a huge workshop out the back,” Jasmine says
but things were selling so quickly that I drove around Mosman Park
hunting for the house based on the image and description
and though it was smaller than their previous home
The largest poinciana tree she had ever seen graced the front yard
The moment she stepped into the workshop during the first open house
“It was a dream come true,” she says. “The studio has given me the freedom to take my art to the next level, with plenty of space for all my projects. The icing on the cake was discovering it had three-phase power, which allowed me to invest in a kiln for my pottery and even start running small classes.”
Of course, the move wasn’t without its challenges. Ben, who loves to cook, misses the more spacious kitchen of their previous home, while Jasmine misses the ample storage, forcing her to be more selective about her belongings. Yet, despite the smaller space, they’ve found that the trade-off was more than worth it.
“One thing that surprised us was how much more comfortable we are living in this house with kids,” Jasmine says.
“Our last home was so beautifully finished that we felt like we were walking on eggshells, trying to prevent the girls from damaging anything. Here, we can relax and not worry so much.”
Looking ahead, Jasmine and Ben have big plans for their little cottage. While major renovations aren’t on the immediate horizon, they foresee the need for more space as their daughters grow older.
“I think the first thing we’ll invest in when we have the money is a pool,” Jasmine says.
“Then, down the track, we might add a second storey so we don’t lose too much of the backyard. In the meantime, I’ll be busy with smaller projects like painting the kitchen and adding new curtains – I do love a bit of DIY.”
In the meantime, the Raisbeck family is relishing the trade-offs they made, embracing their new home with no regrets and a renewed appreciation for what truly matters.
“You have to decide what’s important to you, and that’s different for everyone,” Jasmine reflects. “We lived in a bigger, newly renovated home, but I’m much happier here in our little cottage, with my art studio, a veggie patch, and our family thriving.”
The neighbourhood, too, has become a source of joy. Their girls have made fast friends with other kids on the street – something Jasmine considers invaluable.
“We don’t have a front fence, so I often come home to find all the kids playing in our front yard, climbing our poinciana tree, or setting up bike jumps,” she says. “It’s like stepping back in time, and we feel absolutely privileged that our kids get this kind of childhood – it’s pretty rare these days.”

and will be the executive chef across all of the group’s venues
“We’re in the process of designing the menu which already looks pretty delicious,” Kitty continues

but people can also sit and have a glass of wine
Eventually we’ll have a few little things to nibble on while they wait for their pizza.”

Cellars and Aggie’s online ordering in the future – which means pizza and wine delivered straight to your door.)
Charlie attributes some of this approachability and community focus to reliability
“I think realistically we’ll be open five days to start with probably shutter on Monday
I don’t think you can be a community based business if you’re shutting one or two days a week
you have to be there for the people every day.”
you heard right – that’s the other Mossie Park news they’ve been keeping under wraps: that they’ll also be taking over the long-standing neighbourhood café on the corner of Gill and Solomon Streets
to the Community Wine Group banner came about through neighbourhood chit-chat while popping in for a coffee
and the next thing you know… Their new spin on Gill St
“It’ll be a corner store-type delicatessen
delicious breakfast offering – grab and go as well as dine-in
And then go into a daytime menu: three pastas
So you can sit down and have a really nice
lovely lunch – not in a licensed environment
not in some way that you feel need to dress up for
Just somewhere that you can casually duck in and get a cheerful bowl of pasta.”
(“We’ve just locked in a really cool chef for that place who I won’t mention just yet,” he teases.)
“And walking into a space that’s just alive with product – a really good pantry offering
we want to have our own cheese supply offerings
we want to be able to be that place in the afternoon
come down here [Stuart St.] grab your wine
and grab an amazing offering of delicatessen items.”
not disrupt the big boys in supermarkets… But you look at the bottle shop offering around in our immediate catchment
Boatshed do an amazing job of an independent style of offering
“But there’s a huge opportunity for us to be servicing the community differently
so tacking in the pizza delivery tacking in delicatessen items that we’re producing at Gill St.
everyone gets into business to make money,” Charlie muses
“But I think our businesses don’t exist without our community
I think all of our businesses are within a kilometre of each other… It’s pretty rare to have that opportunity to start your day with somebody and finish your day with that same customer
“There’s a guy that lives up here in Peppy Grove
you’ve really stitched me up: I have to come get my coffee from you
And then you can sell me glasses of wine at nighttime!'”
“It’s a pretty cool little lineup of businesses that will harmonise and talk to each other and bookend each other
(This ethos extends to the surrounding businesses and those further afield – during our chat
praise is heaped upon neighbouring Rodney’s
Open Book… Even the nearby Domino’s: “Competition is great,” Charlie insists
the better we’re going to become as an as a precinct.”)
“We’ve started calling ourselves Community Wine Group,” adds Kitty
“Because the main aim is to service the community
the open bottle nights that we do at Stuart St
the main or long term goal for that is to have people just coming in from business and neighbours coming in having a chat with each other
“We have lots of people coming in on their way home from work
and they just come and sit down and some of them just want to debrief and chat about their day
because we’re getting to know people’s faces and people’s stories
and being able to cater the service to those people
“And the thing that I think is so special about these businesses is that we’re all so close that we really can draw on that community and create a bit more of a community hub.”
Gill St. Deli is scheduled to open in June
with Aggie’s scheduled to open later this winter
Aggie’s will be located at 622 Stirling Highway

And yet, the vibe check of this coveted suburb is coastal casual. Its relaxed character is influenced by its proximity to Australia’s finest beaches and Western Australia’s sunny climate, where locals commonly sport shorts, thongs, or athletic wear regardless of their walk of life.
Trent Vivian of Vivians Real Estate further describes Mosman Park as a suburb rich in contrasts and conveniences. He depicts a wide range of housing, from one-bedroom apartments priced at $250,000 to extravagant homes valued at $40 million.
“It seems unlikely, but it surprisingly works well,” says Vivian. “The suburb’s charm is sweetened by numerous public parks managed by the council, access to excellent schools, efficient public transport, and easy commutes to Fremantle and the city centre.”
Mosman Park is also known for its sense of belonging, which is encouraged by numerous local events. One example, Sunset Eats, captures the suburb’s communal atmosphere, where residents gather for street food and live music as the sun sets.
“These occasions reinforce the suburb’s family-oriented nature,” adds Vivian. “Bolstered by everyday joys, like beach mornings when the ocean is as flat as a pancake, and riverside afternoons with a coffee in hand.”
Kate Brady, the owner of Darling & Domain, echoes these sentiments. She chose to open her retail fashion and homewares store in Mosman Park, filled with beautiful, colourful things that reflect the area’s trendy setting.
“I grew up in Melbourne and agreed to move here with my Perth-born husband, with the agreement that we’d move back after five years,” says Brady. “That was 20 years ago now – I absolutely fell in love with Perth and can’t imagine living elsewhere.”
Fremantle: The jewel in Western Australia’s crown
Unley Park: Adelaide’s prestige pocket delivers a family vibe with stately homes on large blocks
Broome: It’s summer year-round at this affordable beach town
After moving around Perth with the kids in tow, Brady and her partner settled here seven years ago, drawn by its easy access to great schools and the prime location between stunning beaches and the river.
“Having grown up in Victoria’s seaside suburb, Mount Eliza, I find Mosman Park similar, except with much better weather,” Brady laughs. “Most of the time, I feel like I’m living in an overgrown country town, but right next to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.”
the forecast says rain and we’re on the lookout for the closest fireplace to cosy up next to… preferably with a delightful drink in hand
Here are some of the cosiest bars and pubs around Perth perfect for winter
Like the platonic ideal of a neighbourhood pub, Mrs Brown is perfect year-round… But there’s something extra special during winter about those exposed bricks
Curled up in the corner under the warm light of a charming vintage lamp with a glass of red… is there a better way to bring in winter
We haven’t even mentioned the courtyard fireplace – so don’t worry
Northbridge’s (almost) newest hang might have one of the best internal fit-outs in Perth’s bar scene
but did you know it’s beaut little courtyard has a fireplace out the back
cocktail in the other both warming your tummy… Ah we can picture it now
This inner-city oasis is always a welcome escape from fluorescent office lighting and the hustle and bustle of the Terrace – but in winter? The cosy crackle of the venues multiple fireplaces is a welcome accompaniment to the Stables‘ daily rotation of lunchtime specials
we’ll be taking a few long lunches this week…
As far as top quality pubs out in the Swan Valley, the Hen is right at the top of the pecking order
Even when they’re flat out (which is often) the service is impeccable and their hearty pub fare is outstanding
they’ve got a toasty fireplace inside that’ll keep you feeling very warm and cosy during the winter months
We’re a little bit in love with Patio’s charming courtyard
tucked out of the way amongst Freo’s leafy streets
The cold weather doesn’t stop the easy-breezy vibes – in fact
the crackling pot-belly stove transforms it into a toasty spot to enjoy a restorative cocktail and plate of focaccia
While a fair shake of this Irish pub’s warmth comes from its friendly neighbourhood vibes… The crackling pot-bellied fireplace certainly helps
Curl up with a Guinness (or three) and soak up the live music – and make sure to treat yourself to a pie
roast or parmy depending on what day of the week you find yourself there
After a ripping summer of Sunday sessions in the Windsor’s garden bar
attention turns indoors to their multiple fireplaces for a toasty winter with good food and better brews
enjoyed even better with one of their huge $32 Sunday Roasts
There’s something about the Bread and Circuses gang that just knows how to nail a homey neighbourhood spot. With the aforementioned Mrs Brown’s Bar already under their belt, they took over what used to be the Stanley back in 2021, transforming it into Albert’s Respite and Refreshments
it’s still got some of that living-room feel
a little bit more refined – maybe the living room of your bougie friend
Throughout the years, Picabar manages to keep itself at the top of our list and our hearts – whether we’re people watching in the courtyard or enjoying the roasty
A historical building really adds to those fire-side vibes, and the almost 140-year-old Guildford Hotel has history coming out its wazoo
the pub emerged like a phoenix with a refurbishment in 2016 that restored the old girl to her former glory
Grab a cocktail and a seat by the fireplace
and maybe even a barbecue platter to complete the smokey vibes
Decked out with plenty of antlers, faux fur and Chesterfield sofas, the aptly-named Cabin really nails the winter vibes
Sidle up to the fire with a restorative nip of bourbon and you can practically feel the lumberjack beard growing
If you love the outdoors even in the midst of winter
the Cabin also has a sizeable balcony with plenty of heaters
It’s hard to notice anything else, what with the bar built into a 30-foot fishing boat. But if you can tear your eyes away, you might spot that Rodney’s is also home to a double-sided fireplace
warming our gills by the fire… the sea-faring life might be for us
A Chesterfield and an open fire is evidently a winning winter combo…and this one is right up there. We’re fans of Percy Flint’s courtyard on a warm afternoon (who wouldn’t be
but a seat by the fire on a cold winter’s night… oof
Paired with one of their top-notch steak sangas
With those seashell cocktails and coastal vibes, it would be easy to forget about SKØL until next summer – but that would be a mistake
the menu leans towards the comforting and the Scandi-inspired fitout becomes all the more appropriate
Samson’s Paddock has been a Mosman Park mainstay since 2014 thanks to a fantastic booze selection to go with their seasonal share plate style dining
Their bougie steak and whiskey pairings are levelled up by nabbing a spot next to the crackling open fire
This family-friendly brewpub has been the talk of craft beer fiends and West Perth locals since opening back in January of 2023
As well as their signature boundary-pushing
award-winning beers that are brewed on site
Phat Brew Club features a kid’s play area and a toasty fire for the cooler months
Another beachside bar we more closely associate with the summer months, the Cottesloe Beach Hotel still brings the vibes when the mercury drops
but three fireplaces to keep you cosy as you sip
while the Verandah Bar offers fireside views of Cott Beach and a warming menu of chilli mussels
This former Mosman Park pub may have no beer
but owners of the hotel-turned-apartment have called last drinks on their heritage home
Once part of the Oceanic Hotel, the unique apartment at 2/54 Glyde Street is one of just two two-storey units in the complex of six
the Federation building served as a local hotel for eight decades
initially as the Oceanic Hotel catering for farmers and visitors from the country
In the 1940s the hotel housed military operations during the war
before it was bought by the Swan Brewery and renamed the Mosman Park Hotel
It was converted into luxury apartments in the mid-1990s
The building is named on the Town of Mosman Park’s municipal inventory and is considered “an important part of the social heritage of Mosman Park”
Apartment two has retained the hotel’s original fireplaces and colonial verandas
while the former gent’s toilet has been converted into a powder room
A pair of handmade Art Deco doors conceal the hotel’s original cloakroom
Among other standout features is an entire wall completely covered with beautifully crafted timber bookshelves
which leads through a 30m void to the first floor
There is a privacy wall and remote-controlled gates
which screen an enchanting courtyard garden
The apartment has been listed for sale for $1.695 million

A Perth businessman running for council in Mosman Park wants all public housing tenants in his suburb dumped into neighbouring Fremantle
But Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt swiftly shut-down the radical plan saying it's the first he had heard of the move and wouldn't support it

Mosman Park resident Andrew Wilson sparked controversy when he claimed his suburb - which has a median house price of around $1.2 million dollars - was beset with break-ins and anti-social behaviour due to public housing residents
"It's time to address the elephant in the room
Every day a break in occurs in Mosman Park
and we all know it's due to the housing commission," Mr Wilson said in a statement that accompanies the video
and retirees living in Mosman Park who deserve to feel safe walking the streets
I have a background in law and I am running for local council this October
If elected I will ensure that we get rid of the housing commission blocks ASAP."
The video's tag line reads "We have to GET RID of the housing commission
The video points out the proximity of housing commission flats to a local private school

Defending his stance to Radio 6PR's Oliver Peterson on Friday afternoon
Mr Wilson said it was a serious issue the area needs to address
"Every day a break in occurs in Mosman Park
We will be working closely with police and state government to develop a relocation solution for these people
they're getting dumped out here and it's just not working out
we're going to work with the state and the police to get it done
"They're going to be better catered for there
and they're really looking forward to it."
Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt told Radio 6PR he had no idea about the idea until contacted to appear on the program
It's not something that we would support," Mr Pettitt
"I think good policy indicates that everybody's got to do their fair share - I mean government's aim is to have between nine and eleven per cent social housing spread broadly across suburbs and I think that's the right way to go."
According to the latest crime statistics compiled by WA police
Mosman Park had 75 burglaries on dwellings
two instances of graffiti and sixteen motor vehicle thefts in the past twelve months
Mr Wilson's comments kindled plenty of reaction online
with one person saying "apart from the fact you are an intolerant elitist
you wouldn't actually be able to DO this
All suburbs need to have their fair share of public housing for many reasons; I don't think the Department of Housing is going to care that you think Mosman Park is too good for "them"."
Not everyone who needs state housing is a low life crim[inal]
"The push these days is to spread state housing throughout the metro area instead of lumping them all together and creating slum areas as in the days of where I grew up
Housing Minister Peter Tinley was even more direct
"I am reluctant to dignify this proposal with a response or sink to the level of a member of the "lunatic fringe" who aspires to local government," Mr Tinley said in a statement to WAtoday
"Suffice to say that even if Mr Wilson is elected to the Mosman Park Council
the council has no power to forcibly relocate tenants from public housing provided by the State Government."

Daniel Ashley was shot twice during the siege and is now a paraplegic. (ABC News: Rebecca Trigger)
Link copiedShareShare articleA Perth man has been sentenced to six years in jail for taking five people hostage as part of a plan by him, to make a public statement and be fatally shot by police.
Daniel Ashley, 27, was shot twice, but he survived and is now a paraplegic and partially blind in one eye.
In June last year, he armed himself with a replica gun, and other items including cable ties, gaffer tape and a baton and forced his way in to a Mosman Park house where his former girlfriend was living with four other people.
Ashley tied the hands and feet of the hostages and used the tape to cover the mouths of three them.
He assaulted his former girlfriend with a baton and threatened to shoot the hostages in triple-0 calls.
Ashley also posted on social media that he was going to die that night and he would be shot by police.
He was shot when he walked out of the house and refused repeated demands by police to drop the replica gun.
Ashley pleaded guilty to a string of charges including aggravated burglary, deprivation of liberty and assault.
The District Court was told he was depressed and upset about the breakdown of his relationship and wanted to die in a dramatic way and make a public statement.
Judge Simon Stone described Ashley's offences as "premeditated, planned, deliberate and persistent", saying the hostages and police did not know Ashley's gun was a replica and said he had subjected his victims to a "terrifying and horrific ordeal".
Judge Stone "commended" the police negotiators who talked to Ashley as well as the two officers who shot him, with the court hearing they had feared for their lives and the lives of others, when they fired their guns.
The judge accepted that Ashley would require life-long care because of his physical disabilities and his time in jail would be more difficult because of that, however, he said the offences were very serious and only a jail term was appropriate.
Ashley will have to serve four years before he can be released.

Daniel Ashley could now be released late in 2018. (ABC News: Rebecca Trigger)
Link copiedShareShare articleThe jail term imposed on a man who took five people hostage in a dramatic siege in Mosman Park has been cut by Western Australia's highest court.
Police shot Daniel Ashley twice to end the siege in June 2015, and he is now a paraplegic and partially blind in one eye.
He was originally sentenced to six years in jail, but today in a majority decision, two out of three Court of Appeal judges ruled the term should be cut to four-and-a-half years.
Ashley armed himself with a replica gun and forced his way into Mosman Park house where his former girlfriend was living with four other people.
Ashley bound their hands and feet with cable ties and used gaffer tape to cover the mouths of three of them.
Ashely also posted on social media he was going to die that night and that he would be shot by police.
He was shot when he walked out of the house and refused repeated demands to drop the replica gun.
At his sentencing hearing last year the court was told Ashley was depressed and upset about the breakdown of his relationship and he wanted to die in a dramatic way and make a public statement.
He now needs life-long care because of his injuries.
Two of the judges, including the Court of Appeal president Michael Buss, said the injuries suffered by Ashley "were a mitigating factor attracting very significant weight", and described the six-year term as "unreasonable" and "unjust".
"The appellant is, and is likely to continue to be, highly dependent on others in many respects. The appellant's injuries significantly moderated the importance of punishment, retribution and personal deterrence."
The third appeal judge, Robert Mazza, said he would have reduced the six-year sentence even further, to one of three-and-a-half years.
He said while Ashley's offences were "very serious", the "severe and permanent disabilities" he suffered would make jail for him "much more onerous than for others".
Justice Mazza also said Ashley had pleaded guilty to the charges against him, was remorseful and had good prospects for rehabilitation.
Ashley was due for release in August 2020, but could now be free in November 2018.

Police have charged the man who allegedly held five people hostage at gunpoint in a July siege in Mosman Park, and declared officers' actions in twice shooting him were lawful.
Police will allege that about 8.30 on June 23, a 23-year-old friend of the accused, Daniel Ashley, opened the door of the Samson Street home to his knock, after which he pointed a gun and a baton at her and knocked her down.

Police will allege that Mr Ashley, 27, then forced her into the living room, where three other men in their 20s were sitting.
"Hearing the commotion, a 59-year-old woman entered the living room. All five were ordered to comply with his demands," said a WA Police spokesman.

Mr Ashley allegedly bound his hostages' hands and feet with cable ties and gagged them with duct tape.
Riot police and a police negotiator attended for a stand-off lasting until 11.15pm, when Mr Ashley emerged from the front door and approached police, who shot him when he allegedly ignored their orders to drop the gun.
The spokesman said Mr Ashley continued pointing his gun at police even while on the ground, and they shot him again, finally disarming him. One shot was to the face; the other to his "upper body".
The gun was later revealed to be a replica.
Mr Ashley was allegedly confronting his ex-girlfriend at the home and had reportedly posted a string of messages to Facebook about his intentions.
"Tonight I am going die [sic]," one post reportedly stated.
It was followed by another post reading "I will be shot police [sic]"
Mr Ashley spent months in hospital before his discharge and is still receiving treatment.
The young woman involved in the incident suffered minor injuries, though the others were physically unharmed.
The internal affairs investigation has now cleared police of any wrongdoing and the investigation into the siege has ended in Mr Ashley being charged with one count of aggravated burglary, one count of being armed in a way that may cause fear, five counts of kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault.
He is due to appear at Fremantle Magistrates Court on December 18.

A large infill development site in the prestigious Perth suburb of Mosman Park has been listed for sale, with the current owner occupiers moving to another site.
60 McCabe Street, a 27,924 sqm site, has been owned and occupied by Rocky Bay Limited, a disability services provider, since 1978. The organisation intends to build a new premise and relocate to Belmont to provide better services to their stakeholders.
Currently, the site has an older-style administration building that incorporates an indoor sports activity centre, therapy pool and teaching facilities.
The site also has a nursing home with 24 beds, potential for a steady source of income for the future owners.
Tony Delich and Zach Schreier of Knight Frank will take the property to market ia an expression of interest campaign.
Mr Delich said the property is “one if a kind opportunity” given it is surrounded by the vibrant community of Mosman Park.
“An incoming developer for this site will have a blank canvas to create a vision for a new master planned residential community within the sought-after and premium suburb of Mosman Park,” he said.
“We expect significant interest from a wide range of major developers and high net worth individuals already active in Perth, as well as interstate buyers looking for opportunities on Australia’s west coast.
“The site is just 14 kilometres southwest of the Perth CBD and five kilometres from the Fremantle City Centre, and is easily accessible from the Stirling Highway and Wellington Street.
“It is in a prestigious location surrounded by Perth’s most highly sought-after, affluent and established suburbs, including Claremont, Cottesloe and Peppermint Grove.”
Expressions of interest for the property end Wednesday, 26 October.

The planning proposal for 8-10 Glyde Street has been through its three design review sessions and
in which ‘body-in-the-suitcase’ victim Annabelle Chen was murdered has been listed for sale – three years after her death
Selling agent Richard Mathlin, from Knight Frank – Perth
says he is being upfront with prospective buyers about the history of the home and has already received significant interest in the sale
Mathlin expects the property at 10 Meath Mews, Mosman Park, which was owned by Ms Chen
to fetch a sale price greater than $850,000
with similar blocks alone selling in Mosman Park for around $550,000 or $600,000
the cream brick two-storey home is set on a 431sqm lot and was built in 1997
It has four bedrooms upstairs and a study or fifth bedroom on the ground floor
The property hasn’t had any refurbishment done to it,” Mathlin says
“It’s just over 400sqm in block size in a lovely little cul-de-sac
It’s the right property for the right person who doesn’t mind the history and will nurture it and be able to do some refurbishments.”
Chen’s body was found in a suitcase dumped in the Swan River in 2016 but her identity remained a mystery for two months until her daughter made a missing persons’ report
was found guilty of murder and jailed for a minimum of 20 years last year
Tiffany Yiting Wan was acquitted for murder but found guilty of the lesser charge of being an accessory after the fact and jailed for four years and 10 months
Mathlin says: “There are different sorts of buyers showing interest
Maybe someone would like to purchase the property for demolition and to build a new home on the block
I have had interest already from people who know the history and would be happy to purchase the property and do some refurbishment or keep the property as is
we are looking to get the best price we can for it in the marketplace
hence why we are doing a ‘closing date sale’ so we can see what the market is going to bring us.”

Mosman Park Tennis Club overpowered the Cottesloe Tennis Club home side advantage on Saturday 24 March
to claim their maiden State League title 8-3-53 to 1-2-36
After finishing the 2017-18 season on top of the ladder and posting a convincing win against Royal Kings Park Tennis Club in the semi-finals
Cottesloe failed to capitalise on the home court advantage with their only win coming from number one player Tristan Schoolkate who defeated Mosman Park’s Aaron Leeder-Chard
17 year old Schoolkate wasn’t going down easily
Schoolkate tore through the second set 6-3 before the third set went to a thrilling tie-break 7-6(5)
The tables soon turned with Mosman Park winning the next three matches
Mosman Park’s Captain Brenton Bacon defeated Cottesloe’s Andrew Roberts 6-2 6-4 and Alex Downey defeated William Hann 6-2 7-5
Joel Pleydell looked to salvage Cottesloe’s titles hopes as he faced off again Mosman Park’s number on player Brydan Klein
who currently holds a world ranking of 343 in doubles and 144 in doubles
The 3-1 score after the singles matches concluded meant that the finals were wrapped up by visiting team Mosman Park and no therefore no need to play the doubles

While we try to keep on top of all the latest and greatest news in Perth’s eating and drinking
every now and then something slips under the radar – which would be a disappointment
except for what a delight it is to eventually discover a not-yet-hyped gem
Mosman Park gained a charming new bottle shop way back in September – and while we’ve got to it late
the store makes a strong case for the “better late than never”
Just off the bustling Stirling Highway and only moments away from Mossie Park station, Stuart St Cellars is from the same team as Pep’s Wine Bar – itself situated less than a kilometre down the highway
interesting-but-easy drinking approach – with plenty of drops best enjoyed with soaking up beach sunsets or lazing on the lawn
You’ll be able to taste plenty of these at Stuart St’s weekly Thursday Open Bottle
which they describe as “taste while you browse” – with a rather nifty discount
you’ll also find a selection of pre-batched cocktails (including from local outfits Idle Hands and Republic of Fremantle)
plus a concise-but-growing collection of craft beer
the team plan on exentually adding a delivery service
as well as masterclass experiences with their sister venue Pep’s and neighbours In Between Bar
Stuart St Cellars is located at 2A Stuart Street, Mosman Park.
