pleaded guilty to a count of behave in a violent manner at Mowbray on February 26
James Matthews was fined $1000 for his part in a fight at the Launceston Cup Picture Paul ScamblerPolice prosecutor Jack Fawdry said the fight broke out at about 5pm.
"When police attempted to separate the defendant
he lay on top of an unknown male and punched him multiple times to the face and head with both fists," Mr Fawdry said
After capsicum spray was deployed the unknown male left the scene and police were unable to identify him
Defence lawyer Fran McCracken said Matthews' friend had a site at the cup
She said he saw two people walk into the gazebo and jump on his friend for no apparent reason
"His friend fell over and two men assaulted him," she said
"Initially his involvement was to help his friend but it went beyond that," Ms McCracken said
"The situation was resolved with police intervention."
She said he had entered a guilty plea at an early stage
She said he had some prior convictions in relation to alcohol but had not been to court for 10 years
Ms McCracken submitted that Matthews should not be convicted because a conviction could make his entry as a plumber onto government work sites difficult
magistrate Simon Brown said that it was an awful episode in which Matthews' behaviour went beyond acting in defence of another
"It is aggravating that it occurred in a public place and was witnessed by a number of people," he said
"The fact that the Launceston Cup is marred by something like that is a matter of regret."
Mr Brown said that the striking of a person to the face and head a number of occasions risked them suffering a serious injury
"To behave in this way in a public place is completely unacceptable," Mr Brown said
"Your counsel has submitted that I could proceed without conviction but I don't accept that even if it was with an undertaking to be of good behaviour," he said
"It is the conduct which is the issues not the label I give it by way of sentence

Luke Ferraris has jubilated in My Wish’s (Flying Artie) Hong Kong Classic Mile (1600m) triumph for Mark Newnham at Sha Tin on Friday
prompting the rider to reflect on Sweet Orange’s (War Front) success in the corresponding race in 2012
Sweet Orange’s victory 13 seasons ago remains one of the rider’s most vivid memories from his childhood in Hong Kong
Ferraris joined his father – who saddled 461 winners in Hong Kong – on the Hong Kong Classic Mile honour board with a perfectly judged ride to fend off the Francis Lui-trained pair of Divano (Brave Smash) and Parking Hermod (Rubick) in 1m 33.98s
Ferraris settled the gelding in fourth place
angled into clear running before staving off a charging Divano
who rocketed from last on the turn in a race-best sectional of 21.98 seconds
Reflecting on Sweet Orange’s victory under Weichong Marwing
Ferraris said: “I remember it like it was yesterday
Weichong was three-deep without cover the whole way
loomed up on the bend and fought off Fay Fay at the furlong
“There were a few flashbacks which entered my mind today when he [My Wish] had to get game at the furlong and he did
He is 990 pounds of pure heart and he hasn’t been the easiest customer
It really shows the calibre of trainer he is
He improved with each and every run and it’s good to get one on the board
when I sit down it will kick in when I get the messages from my family
Watching this race as a child and now this – it’s surreal
I’m pretty grateful to Mark and his team.”
My Wish gave Ferraris and Newnham their most important success in Hong Kong and the first leg of the Four-Year-Old Classic Series
which continues with the Hong Kong Classic Cup (1800m) on March 2 and the Hong Kong Derby (2000m) on March 23
Newnham was elated to have overcome My Wish’s appetite and temperament issues as the smallest horse in the field held sway
but gee he’s got a big heart,” the trainer said
Luke’s done a great job with him and my team at home has done a super job because when he first arrived
he was a high-energy horse and wasn’t easy to handle
but today he paraded better than he ever has
he went to the start nice and settled and once he got into that position
it was just a matter of whether he was going to be good enough or not
“The way he raced today and the position he put himself in and the way he settled
I think he’ll give himself every chance [over 1800 metres]
If he learns to settle and conserve his energy
Ferraris climbed into fourth place in the jockeys’ championship with 24 wins after slotting a treble
having also prevailed on the David Eustace-trained Master Phoenix (Divine Prophet) in the first section of the Class 4 Fat Choi Handicap (1200m) and Mid Winter Wind (What A Winter)
who made a stunning Hong Kong debut for Newnham in the Class 3 Yue Yee Handicap (1200m)
firing in a remarkable four winners in a row – David Hall’s Sunstrider (Highland Reel) in the Class 4 Good Fortune Handicap (1600m)
Chancheng Glory (Mor Spirit) for Lui in the Centenary Vase Handicap (Gr 3
Brilliant Express (Starspangledbanner) for John Size in the Class 4 Prosperity Handicap (1400m) and Green N White (Smart Missile) in the Class 2 Chinese New Year Cup Handicap (1400m) for Ricky Yiu
“I had good rides on paper and it’s all worked out
I’ve had good running positions and when it hasn’t worked out for me early
it’s worked out late for me in races,” Bowman said
“All my rides have shown they were capable and it’s nice for it all to happen in one day.”
Narrowly denied in the Hong Kong Classic Mile
Lui struck with Hong Kong Derby (2000m) prospect Packing Angel (Shocking) under Zac Purton in the Class 3 Kut Cheong Handicap (1400m)
Jamie Richards successfully unveiled talented newcomer Yee Cheong Glory (Puissance de Lune) in the second section of the Class 4 Fat Choi Handicap (1200m)
the gelding was a trial winner in Adelaide before export to Hong Kong and could easily have won by more than his two and quarter length margin
Ben Thompson’s adventurous decision to keep New Future Folks (Savabeel) wide from barrier 13 in the long run to the first turn paid off handsomely when Michael Chang’s charge crossed smoothly to the fence and was never headed to land the Class 3 Red Packet Handicap (1600m)
Dennis Yip and Matthew Chadwick claimed the first win on Chinese New Year Raceday with Ho Ho Star’s (Time Test) narrow victory in the Class 5 Kung Hei Handicap (1200m)
The first winner of the Chinese New Year is lucky

In a three-step process, the land was transferred from the University of Tasmania to the Tasmanian Government in December 2024
The site was sold by the Tasmanian Government to the Defence Department for $600,000 on Wednesday
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Richard Marles said it was not only the next step in progressing the Launceston City Deal but also a step forward to seeing better facilities for future cadets
"The Australian Defence Force offers opportunities to you people who want to thrive in a team environment
improve communications skills and give back to the community," Mr Marles said
The proposed site of the $18 million cadet facility in Newnham Drive."These are excellent programs
and new facilities in Launceston will encourage more young people to join the local cadets."
The $309 million Launceston City Deal was signed in 2017 with a key plank being the move of cadet facilities from Paterson Barracks in St John Street to the Newnham facility
The construction of the facilities and move to the facility would open the way for the heritage-listed Paterson Barracks to be sold
It was in 2021 that Defence committed to buying the site from the University of Tasmania at Newnham
The new Cadet Multi User Depot is scheduled to be constructed by 2026-27
It is expected the Cadet Multi-User facility would support three cadet units
It will also contain facilities for the Training Ship Tamar
including a training and administration building
In 2023 a defence spokesperson said that construction had been due to start in early 2024
Independent Senator for Tasmania Tammy Tyrrell welcomed news that the Cadet Facility was finally moving forward after years of bureaucratic squabbling
Senator Tyrrell passed a motion in the Senate in December 2023 for correspondence about the Cadet Facility project between UTAS
the Tasmanian State Government and the federal Department of Defence to be made public
It resulted in 4000 documents being published in February 2024
"We wouldn't be celebrating this announcement today if I hadn't pushed for correspondence to be made public.," Senator Tyrrell said
"The documents revealed that UTAS were being the problem child in this partnership and holding it up."
Senator Tyrrell said she would continue to hold the major parties to account and deliver on their promises

but it is understood the upper sections of the Alanvale Road block could cater for 250-plus families
Owner Marion Dalco said the farm - which has three dwellings and a studio - had served several uses since her grandfather bought it in the 1940s
A 68-hectare family farm in Newnham could soon make way for new housing
Pictures supplied"It started as a dairy and as urban sprawl spread out here it became a beef production place
we've had a thoroughbred stud here," she said
The farm's surrounds have also changed significantly in that time
"When my Dad came here this was a gravel road and there were no houses - there were only probably a dozen houses in Alanvale Road
"The progress and development in this greater northern part of Launceston has got to the stage where I think it's time."
The property has pulled interest from local and interstate developers in its first few weeks on the market
Harcourts Launceston's Bibby Davidson said a potential subdivision would be in close proximity to the University of Tasmanian
The two lakes near the East Tamar Highway could also become public areas to serve those living in the new subdivision.
View +8 Photos"There's obviously an appetite here from local councils and we're seeing quite a bit of development happening around the Launceston region, which is very important with the need for housing," Mr Davidson said.
"The land itself is quite elevated so you've got beautiful views looking out over the south and west of Launceston over the Tamar River, so the [blocks are] going to be quite appealing."
It won't be easy to say goodbye to the family farm, but Mrs Dalco has another homecoming in the works.
She and her children - seventh-generation Tasmanian farmers - plan to move to a new farm in the Northern Midlands.
Fairlands. Picture supplied"My family are originally from Longford and my great-great-grandfather had a place at Cressy. I'm taking the family back home to Cressy," she said.
"It's just a great area to live, close to the schools and the universities and Mowbray and the city.
"I struggled with it because I've been here all my life, but I think it's the sensible thing to do."

Simmons, 27-years-old at the time of the alleged offence, allegedly stabbed Hosking once in the chest with a folding knife
The 42-year-old Hosking died after being taken to the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) for treatment
Police said at the time Simmons and the alleged victim knew each other
During the accused's latest appearance in the Launceston Magistrates Court on February 21
defence lawyer Fran McCracken said she had received a large amount of disclosure earlier in the week and needed time to work through it
Ms McCracken said she intended to file an application for preliminary proceedings
Magistrate Simon Brown adjourned the matter to April 8
Simmons was remanded to appear via video link on that date
He will later face trial in the Supreme Court

which was destroyed by an accidental fire in 2021
Two restaurants and two three-bedroom homes (inset) are proposed for a vacant Newnham block
the new development is planned to be a mixed-use commercial and residential development
with two food service tenancies backing on to two three-bedroom homes
The City of Launceston council has been pushing for higher-density development close to the Launceston CBD
Planning documents state the nine parking spaces and single turning bay on the property meet the requirements of local planning laws for the residential development
but the development requires discretionary approval for the commercial part
Six of the parking spaces are for residents and their guests - two for guests and four spaces for the two homes - exceeding the five required by local planning provisions
The Seaz Takeaway and adjacent house were destroyed in a fire in 2021
File picture by Phillip BiggsThe plans allow for six parking spaces to be used by the commercial development - three on-site and three 15-minute parking bays on George Town Road
This falls short of the 10 required by planning law
based on students or restaurant owners being the likely occupants of the houses who did not own multiple vehicles
there was a high chance the residential spaces could be used by customers
Designs by architecture firm Design To Live
which show the view of the eateries with homes at the rear
Picture supplied"It is highly likely the tenancy operators will reside in the residential units on the second floor," the documents said
"It is also likely that unit tenants will have one car with the second resident parking space available for customers
i.e four of the six unit parking spaces may be available for the Food Services Tenancies."
Plans are available for public comment online and at the Launceston Town Hall until 5pm on April 2.

Talented tall Sasha Newnham has taken out Howlong's best and fairest to hand the family a rare double
Sudoku and TriviaAll articles from the other regional websites in your areaContinueSasha's older brother and Kiewa-Sandy Creek star Connor
recently won the Hawks' best and fairest in a proud moment for the Newnham family
In a thrilling count, Newnham edged out Jarred Lane for the award to deny the star Spider back-to-back victories after joining the club from Corowa-Rutherglen last year
Newnham enjoyed a breakout season for the Spiders to claim his first senior best and fairest of his blossoming career
Picture by James WiltshireNewnham said it was a huge surprise to be able to add his name to the honour roll
especially when you have a look at some of the names on the honour board," Newnham said
"I've never previously won many personal awards so it was a huge surprise to be honest
"I thought I had a bit of a slow start to the season and played the first five rounds at centre half-back
"I got moved into the ruck and rested forward after that and that's when I started to poll a few votes
"I only hit the front in the last few rounds
"For the past four years I have predominantly played centre half-back
"But the development of a few of our younger players in Drew Cameron and Connor Hogan who can both play as key defenders allowed me to play a bit of a different role this year
"When I was at Wodonga Raiders before joining Howlong
I played a bit in the ruck and learnt a lot from Isaac Muller
"It's certainly easier to find the footy when you are playing in the ruck compared to defence and you are in the play a lot more which I enjoy."
Newnham played in Darwin over the off-season with several of his Spider teammates
Newnham attributes his stellar form this season to playing in Darwin over the off-season and his development under co-coaches Matt McDonald and David Miles
"I played in Darwin over the summer with a couple of teammates in Ben Baker
"We played for Banks Bulldogs in the Premier Reserves competition and ended up getting beat in the grand final
"I think the past few seasons I have been slowly developing and have been a bit of a late bloomer I guess
"Both Macca and Milesey have been fantastic for my development and they are a bit like the good cop
"You never hear a bad word from Milesey but Macca will tell you exactly how it is and doesn't sugarcoat his message
"It is a good dynamic and even though Macca is hard on his players
he is passionate about coaching and just wants to get the best out of everyone
Kiewa-Sandy Creek star Connor Newnham won the Hawks' best and fairest this season. Picture by James WiltshireSasha, 23, said it was satisfying to be able to win a best and fairest in the same season as Connor, 25, who is on the podium as one of the premier players in the TDFL
"I guess brothers winning a best and fairest at different clubs in the same season doesn't happen that often," he said
"It's been fantastic to see how Connor has performed since joining Kiewa and he certainly loves playing out there."
Newnham said he had re-signed with the Spiders for next season
The Spiders also recently re-signed Azzi medallist Hamish Clark who had been linked to returning to Bullioh where he played previously for three seasons from 2017 to 2019

Newnham in action for the Hawks against Beechworth recently in round 17.He also won the club's leading goalkicking award after booting 56 goals
"It was definitely a huge surprise to win the best and fairest because there are a fair few better players in our side than me," Newnham said
"A lot of our bigger name players missed a fair bit of footy with injuries
"Personally I was probably a lot more consistent this season than my previous two years at the club and was able to kick a few more goals
"Not missing any games helps as well with your form
"To win a best and fairest at a club like Kiewa is a huge honour
especially when you see some of the names on that honour board
"But I just want to play in another grand final
"I just want to play in the granny and win it this time."
The Hawks' hopes of reaching the grand final received an unexpected boost after Thurgoona upset Beechworth in the final round
Newnham is one of thee best marks in the competition in one-on-one contests. It allowed the Hawks to move to third spot and gain the prized double chance at Sandy Creek
The Hawks have sat in fourth spot for the majority of the season
They will now face grand final nemesis Chiltern in the qualifying final on Saturday
Newnham is setting himself for a big performance and a shot at redemption after he had two late shots in the grand final that sailed wide
It proved costly as the Swans hung on for an epic grand final victory by three points
"We couldn't believe our luck when we found out that Thurgoona beat Beechworth and that we moved to third spot," Newnham said
Newnham is eagerly anticipating the chance to redeem himself during this year's finals series."But we need to make the most of our luck and it is satisfying to know that we have got the double chance
"We will be without Mitch Paton this weekend against Chiltern who will miss with concussion protocols
"Internally we feel that we have come into form at the right time of the season
"Everyone is gelling and it looks exciting
"It's always a tough match-up against Chiltern and it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds on Saturday."

the building design targets ambitious sustainability goals
Newnham Campus is located at 1750 Finch Avenue East
at the northwest corner of Finch and Highway 404 interchange
The sprawling 25,497m² site boasts several buildings
The campus is surrounded by a mix of low-rise residential neighbourhoods and high-rise condominium towers
The Health & Wellness Centre is being built on an interior parcel of the campus just west of the residence building and athletic field
The buildings were closed at the end of March
their functions moved elsewhere on the campus or to other Seneca campuses
and demolition permits were obtained in December
Early design concepts — one of which is pictured above — were unveiled in 2023
The project entered the formal planning process with a Pre-Application Consultation held in January
followed by the submission of a Site Plan Approval application at the end of March
The final design calls for a three-winged facility (including the retained portion of existing Building E)
The circular layout draws from Indigenous concepts of balance and unity
with curving volumes extending from an inner ring that frames a ceremonial fire pit
referencing the medicine wheel and drum circle as symbols of healing and connection
designed by DIALOG and Two Row Architect for Seneca College
The centre will rise 15m with a total Gross Floor Area of 11,588m²
split between 7,587m² on the first level and 4,001m² above

"Crip Camp was very challenging to get just right," Newnham reflects
"We taught ourselves a lot about how to take archival footage and create an immersive
character-driven world that the viewer could plunge into — challenging them to see things from a disabled point of view
differently than some of them had ever seen before."
A graduate of the Stanford Documentary Film Program, Newnham is the director behind such enduring works as 2006's The Rape of Europa and 2013's The Revolutionary Optimists. Her latest feature is The Disappearance of Shere Hite
about iconoclastic feminist Shere Hite and her fight to liberate sexuality from its patriarchal confines
"She has the charisma and intrigue of a Hitchcock heroine and is so compelling as a cinematic figure
because she was so in control of the creation of her image..
Shere would be a fascinating role for an actress in a narrative film
but documentary is an especially powerful medium when the mere fact that something is real can itself provoke a sense of awe
Amid the women's movement of the 1970s
Hite gained notoriety when she published "The Hite Report," a groundbreaking study intended to revolutionize sexuality for women and men
Hite was attacked and diminished and maligned in the press
Newnham now hopes to restore her story with all of its complexities
"Like Crip Camp and The Rape of Europa
the film explores an all too forgotten story out of history
one that has the capacity to provide a new and needed lens on an historical period we might think we can understand," she says
"and that resonates powerfully with the moment that we are in."
Newnham shares with A.frame five films that had a profound effect on her
including the Oscar-winning documentary that inspired her to become a filmmaker herself

I walked into an auditorium in Oberlin College to see this documentary
I had never seen a film that so emotionally and powerfully let a community tell its own story of change
I felt I was in the story; I was not watching archival footage
There was a tenderness and a beauty to the storytelling that was just infused with love
It's not an exaggeration to say that watching that film changed the course of my life
It made me want to move to San Francisco and become a documentary filmmaker
Icon_Audio-Video_-PlayCreated with Sketch.Where to watchWritten and Directed by: Satyajit Ray
Satyajit Ray's masterpieces were put into cinemas
and I was able to see Charulata in the theater — an experience that has always stayed with me
It was a master class in two of the most important and difficult things to get right in filmmaking: Point of view and the passage of time
I can still remember the thrill of watching its famous 'swing scene' for the first time — the beauty of the focus on Charu's emotions as she swings
I was exhilarated by the power of its celebration of a character and a moment that would normally not be observed or noticed
Icon_Audio-Video_-PlayCreated with Sketch.Where to watchDirected by: Mannus Franken and Joris Ivens
I saw a projected print of this film in a tiny screening room in graduate school
Ivens made this portrait of Amsterdam in the rain
unforgettable example of the magic of documentary editing
through which the rain and the city itself are the main characters
and their rhythms are the propulsive narrative force
Icon_Audio-Video_-PlayCreated with Sketch.Where to watchWritten and Directed by: Terence Davies
This stunning narrative film captured my heart
piecing together fragments from a young boy's childhood in Liverpool in the 1950s
The film is so strongly from his point of view that I felt it took me back to the experience of perceiving the world as a child
The point of view is filled with a child's tenderness and wonder
and I'm still awestruck by its masterful evocation of Bud's interior life

Much of the power of documentary lies in simply bearing witness
Luke Lorentzen bears powerful witness to a hospital chaplain and her colleagues as they accompany and give comfort to dying patients

The University of Tasmania will support the long-term vibrancy of the Newnham campus with a series of key initiatives
Contained in the developing masterplan for the precinct
its future will be underpinned by government funding commitments in defence and the blue economy
additional University investment in agricultural teaching and research
and the establishment over time of a professional services centre at the site
“Rather than seeing Newnham diminish as a result of our campus relocation to Inveresk
we believe the masterplan will provide a vision of it as a significant contributor to the life and vitality of Launceston and the wider region,” Vice-Chancellor Professor Rufus Black said
The University is progressing the Northern Transformation Project – a $300 million redevelopment of its Launceston and Cradle Coast campuses – supported by Federal
contemporary teaching and student activity
as part of a highly distinctive new campus alongside Launceston’s city heart
Newnham will remain home to the Australian Maritime College
which has nationally significant teaching and research strengths, including logistics
Adding to the AMC’s scale - creating a vibrant
sustainable precinct for the long term – at Newnham
Professor Black said the agricultural research presence and the professional services centre would be developed in consultation with staff and industry stakeholders
“Our strategy commits us to be a university which operates in a regionally networked way,” Professor Black said
“That means having enough people in each of our locations to ensure they are dynamic
exciting places that are embedded in ways which support the local community and economy
“And it means having research strengths locally which can leverage the distinct regional advantages of the State’s North-West
“In the North, that includes food
The North-West will come to have greater focus and strengths in engineering and technology
particularly where it intersects with agriculture
the University will continue to be a key partner in the Antarctic research community, with a focus on Antarctica and the Southern Ocean
This includes the consolidation of those activities now undertaken at IMAS Launceston to IMAS Taroona
further supporting its development as a research precinct supporting sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in Tasmania
Professor Black said the University’s presence would provide the building blocks at Newnham for a dynamic mixed-use precinct which would support the future of Launceston’s northern suburbs
“These ideas are being developed in partnership with government and community
such as the Launceston City Deal,” he said
“The goal of the City Deal is to make Launceston one of the most liveable and innovative regional cities in the nation by 2027
“We share that goal, and this masterplan
and the way it will help shape the future of Newnham and Inveresk
will be a vital part of realising that.”
The masterplan will be finalised and publicly released in coming months

A development application has been lodged for the partial demolition and extension of the existing hotel
Designed by Newline Design
the proposal seeks to retain the existing hotel and car park spaces
and to demolish select interior portions of the building
and extend the current hotel facilities to incorporate further outdoor dining space for patrons
The proposal includes the refurbishment of interior spaces as well as the relocation of the existing playground
The site has 2 access points via crossovers on Delevan Street and Newnham Road respectively
The planners at Urbis state
“The proposal results in the addition of an outdoor bistro dining area and playground
with the intent of providing an enhanced mix of indoor and outdoor useable space in relation to the operation of the hotel
The addition of these outdoor spaces corresponds with further refurbishments to the hotel to improve existing outdoor useable space and responds to patron demand for outdoor areas that take advantage of Brisbane’s subtropical climate”
“The design concept for this venue is to rejuvenate the classic local pub with a contemporary feel by incorporating additional dining and entertainment areas for its patrons whilst retaining the overall character of the pub”
“The proposal will be built at grade to the current built form
and is designed to integrate with the existing building
allowing for a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor space”

Talents Ambition is a two-time winner in Hong Kong (Pic – HKJC)
but Newnham is aiming to boost Talents Ambition’s rating in the HK$2.05 million finale – where he begins from barrier 10 for his city circuit debut – to lift his chances of securing a spot in the Classic
“It’s his last-ditch effort to get a berth in the Derby
He was probably just a bit too close the other day as he’s a horse you have to ride quietly
The early pace in the race and the fact that he jumped quickly put him in a position probably where he couldn’t win,” Newnham said
Andrea Atzeni rides Talents Ambition on Wednesday
The pair face four last-start winners: Hameron (129lb)
Beauty Alliance (120lb) and Northern Beast (117lb)
Talents Ambition finished under three lengths from stablemate My Wish in the HK$13 million Hong Kong Classic Mile
the first leg the HK$52 million Four-Year-Old Classic Series
which also comprises the HK$13 million Hong Kong Classic Cup
“I think he’s going well and his run in the Classic Mile was very good
1800 metres around Happy Valley should suit – it’ll give him his chance to qualify
The owners want to have a Derby runner and this is the most appropriate race to get him there,” Newnham said
the 14 horses selected for the BMW Hong Kong Derby will be announced on Friday
Hong Kong Classic Mile winner My Wish and Hong Kong Classic Cup hero Rubylot – the highest rated entrant on 100 – should top the line-up
My Wish is Newnham’s best performer in Hong Kong with four wins and HK$13.48 million in earnings
The Flying Artie gelding weighs under 1,000lb and was second last start in the Hong Kong Classic Cup
he has come through it really well,” Newnham said
Newnham also saddles Youthful Spirits in the Class 3 Cheung Chau Handicap from barrier 2 with Luke Ferraris up on Wednesday
The five-year-old bay was second over 1000m at Happy Valley on 26 February
“He’s going up to 1200 metres but his last run at 1200 was very good
He was only beaten by less than a length,” Newnham said
“It might just mean that he doesn’t have as much pressure early
we know he’ll lead and we know he’s very fast
it’s just a matter of whether he hangs on or not
I think it’s time to test him again at 1200.”
Tactical Command represents the trainer in the Class 4 Peng Chau Handicap after securing last-start victory over the course and distance under Alexis Badel
He’s probably getting up to a rating where it’s going to be difficult – it has been for him previously
