The sale was negotiated by Stephen Harrison and Brett Wilkins of RWC WA.
The building, home to much-loved tenants Pot Black and Rosemount Bowl, has been purchased by an investor who wishes to secure the long term presence of the businesses in the building.
The 1,317sqm two-level commercial building sits on a 1,277sqm site and is fully leased to three long-standing tenants.
The sale reflects a 6.7 per cent yield, with long term leases and further options in place.
“This building is more than bricks and mortar, it’s a North Perth institution,” said Stephen Harrison.
“It’s rare to find a property of this size and character, with secure long-term tenants, in such a prime location.”
Positioned on the bustling Fitzgerald Street retail and dining strip, the building is directly opposite the Rosemount Hotel and 150 metres from North Perth Plaza.
The surrounding suburb, 2km from the Perth CBD, is a vibrant inner-urban hub known for its mix of residential dwellings, cafes, and entertainment venues.
“There’s a real sense of buzz in North Perth,” said Brett Wilkins.
“The property’s quirky and nostalgic nature, anchored by entertainment venues like Rosemount Bowl and Pot Black, makes it truly unique. It's not just a commercial space; it’s part of the community’s social fabric.”
Ray White Commercial WA continues to see strong interest in well-located commercial assets, particularly those with established tenants and solid lease profiles.

A Perth man has been sentenced to life in prison with a 14-year non-parole period for the murder of a 17-year-old he stabbed in the heart during a ‘drug’ deal gone wrong
listened intently while Justice Bruno Fiannaca delivered a scathing assessment of his conduct in August 2022
telling him the youth’s death was the tragic culmination of foolish and reckless decisions “by two young men intent on acting like gangsters.”
Jaden Martinovich pleaded guilty to murder over the stabbing death of a 17-year-old in North Perth.Credit: Facebook
Martinovich and the boy were intending to scam each other
the other to steal a car in a car park in North Perth
At the time Martinovich was 18 years old and a BMW car salesman
He had arranged to sell dimethyltryptamine (DMT) to the teenager
but instead put bath salt crystals in a clip-seal bag in a bid to hoodwink the boy into giving him $250
The youth was told about the scam in advance by their mutual friend
That plan was foiled when Martinovich physically tried to pull him from the car
resulting in a fight that ended with Martinovich’s decision to pull a 10-centimetre knife from his pocket and plunge it into the teenager’s chest
Bystanders took the unconscious 17-year-old to hospital where he died days later
Later Martinovich was recorded on his car’s dashcam bragging “that was a good f---ing stab as well
“[I will] sleep like a baby tonight knowing I plunged a knife into some c---’s organs” and “I love doing that”
Justice Fiannaca said he was “satisfied those statements reflect a rollercoaster of emotions and rationalisation about what you’d done” and said Martinovich was displaying a “tough guy gangster-like persona”
“[You were] purporting to take pleasure from the stab wound.”
Fiannaca told Martinovich his conduct “showed a callous disregard for what you had done”
Martinovich has been threatened and suffered physical assaults
allegedly at the hands of associates of the victim
One occasion he was hospitalised with a broken jaw
Justice Fiannaca also told the court Martinovich’s mother had also been subjected to “a torrent of abuse”
His sentence was backdated to include time spent in custody since his arrest

North Perth is filled with retro Mediterranean homes – there’s hardly a street you can walk down without spying a few archways or a concrete lion or two
And while we adore the kitsch fun of some psychedelic carpet or a technicolour paved terrace… Sometimes an update is needed
And who better to undertake that update than Whispering Smith
the female-led architecture practice specialises in sustainable design and what they characterise as “friendly minimalism”
the team at Whispering Smith founded New Resident: a sustainable developer dedicated to finding sites with character homes with mature trees and saving them – gently coaxing them into a new era while maintaining their charm and preserving vital suburban tree canopy
Named after its original Italian owner, Annita’s House is the latest project from the Whispering Smith x New Resident studio – and it’s now up for grabs!
Just five minutes walk from Fitzgerald Street (a clear path to Satchmo coffee and bagels each morning!)
Annita’s House was a classic North Perth home from the ’60s
A major element of its redesign included reorienting the home’s main living and kitchen areas to benefit from the home’s north-east orientation – as well as the mature mango tree in the front garden
airy space at the front of the home that channels its Mediterranean spirit while reflecting a contemporary lifestyle – particularly through materiality choices like the custom marble flooring created from bench top and quarry offcuts
It’s North Perth living by way of Mediterranean courtyard
The kitchen itself melds sleek and contemporary with timeless practicality and
what’s more hospitable than chatting with your dinner guests while they relax on the bench seat with a drink
enjoying the gentle breeze from that open window
Four bright bedrooms continue to the other end of the home
While the ensuite and built in storage is attractive enough on its own
the huge windows opening to the rear verandah are – at least in our eyes – the biggest delight
particularly when you factor in the mature grape vines that was rescued from Annita’s original garden
(New landscaping was undertaken with the guidance of sustainable landscape architecture firm See Design Studio
utilising waterwise natives and low mow lawns.)

The old service station site on the corner of Angove and Woodville Street in North Perth is once again under the microscope with a second application launched to redevelop the site into a 24/7 service station
South Australia petrol station chain On The Run bought the site back for $3.25 million in 2021
and efforts to build the new station since have faced stern opposition from locals
In May 2023 a development application was refused by the Metro Inner-North Joint Development Assessment Panel and appealed by the applicant, and as late as August last year the City of Vincent council rejected proposed alterations to the site
“This has been a controversial issue for a number of years now and we have made it clear that we do not want a service station operating on the vacant site,” said Mayor Alison Xamon at the time
“The majority of the local community were not supportive of the proposal as it would have significant noise
health and traffic impacts on the residents
It is also very close to a primary school.”
The close proximity of other 24-hour service stations was also a factor
“there is no need for another one in the heart of the Angove Street cafe strip.”
Earlier this week the Stop The Station campaign launched a new change.org petition
expressing concerns over a second application to redevelop the site
“North Perth doesn’t need this second application for redevelopment of the site and doesn’t want the increased vehicle traffic and antisocial behaviour associated with a 24 hour convenience store/petrol station
“The vibrant local primary school and some nearby healthcare facilities will be adversely affected and Angove Street will be diminished as a family-friendly amenity if the developers are allowed to build something like this.”

A new design for safer streets in North Perth has been completed and is now open for community feedback
The Norfolk Neighbourhood Safe Active Street project will see a 1.7km route through Norfolk Street that is safer to walk and ride
as well as limiting traffic speeds to 30km/h
will feature enhanced landscaping and clearly marked road signs
It also forms part of the Long-Term Cycle Network (LTCN) and the City of Vincent Bike Network Plan 2023-2028
It was back in 2022 that the City of Vincent began looking into ways to improve this part of North Perth’s roads after receiving Department of Transport funds to undertake a feasibility study
it was clear that locals wanted straight one-lane passing and partial road closures but wanted to retain ample parking spaces where possible
the locals were not interested in more road humps or narrowing streets
The City of Vincent has said that this design from PJA Consultants released this week
“included community preferences identified during earlier consultation”
Now the City is seeking further feedback and once it has an understanding of what the local community think of the design
it will then seek funding to begin construction
If you wish to provide comment on the design for the Norfolk Neighbourhood Safe Active Street you can do so by completing this survey online – Consultation closes at 4pm on November 4

Sprawling mansions may be what we daydream about… But the transformation of a smaller block has all the hallmarks of a forever home
Designed by award winning architecture and interior practice Aura Design Studio, Dollhouse 2.0 is nestled in that particularly lovely pocket of North Perth just south of Angove Street
The distinctive cartoon-like exterior balances a whimsical approach with robust materiality – the pitched roofline and concrete bricks outlined by a graphic black steel border
Enter through that vibrant yellow door and you’ll be in the heart of the home’s ground floor – a vast void extending above the dining area to the home’s full height
and bringing in swathes of sunlight from both the north and the east-facing windows
avoids the western face of the home – one of the thermally and environmentally efficient qualities of Dollhouse 2.0 that reduces the need for costly heating and cooling
the living and kitchen are tucked neatly under the home’s upper level
Flowing through to the ground floor’s bathroom and laundry
the kitchen in particular maximises every inch of space in the small footprint
while the living room harnesses the lower ceiling height for a more intimate sense of scale
the living area more than doubles in size when flowing out to the outdoor entertaining space – which
connects to the double garage to create a huge event space
(This nifty space-shifting was a priority throughout the design of the home – alongside clever space-saving built-in storage to maximise the utility of every corner.)
and upstairs you’ll find the home’s three bedrooms – the largest of which boasts its own spacious north-facing balcony that overlooks the charming Persimmon Street
allowing plenty of fresh air and morning light for days spend working from home

so let’s start as we mean to go on: deliciously
Here are a mere 40 of our favourite breakfast spots in Perth
Charming and unpretentious, 3.8 Baysie exudes community
Named after the hungriest gal of all (the Bayswater Bridge
you can look forward to tucking into hearty and wholesome fare from a seasonally rotating menu – think crab omelettes with crispy garlic and chilli dressing
charred ciabatta topped with whipped ricotta and tomato
ancho-spiced fried potatoes with slow cooked beef mince
No guilty pleasures here – just plates you can feel very good about
After spending a few years as a pop-up coffee spot, 2019 saw Artem’s move into a permanent brick-and-mortar location in Mount Pleasant
and having their coffee beans roasted to their own recipe… you know they’re not kidding about quality
Stop in any time for their aforementioned A-grade coffee
or their small-yet-inspired brunch menu (think duck omelette
but those in the know will make sure to be there on the weekend for their signature Reuben toastie
2021 also saw the café’s expansion into Highgate
with a handy coffee window in the new Woolworths development
This welcoming café just opened in Myaree, but we’re already singing its praises. At Home Coffee Co. is dishing up Asian-inspired brunch – think creamy tamago or nori cheese toasties
umami-spiked scrambled or their take on shakshuka
One of Perth’s cafe stalwarts, Boucla has become a Subi institution over the two decades it’s been open
leafy courtyard out the back!) is super cozy for your next coffee date

Designed by slick Adelaide architects Studio-Gram
the new location marks a new era for Canteen as they not only continue their pizza legacy but expand into new offerings – including

they’ve maintained their top-tier brunch status
continuing the internationally-influenced menu

yet out of their tiny kitchen they manage to serve up unpretentious breakfasts that can rival Perth’s best
While the Dine by Arrival Hall menu isn’t extensive
or a Black Angus tenderloin sandwich on offer
the fact that it’s inside a furniture store would be a detriment
except that Arrival Hall’s space is so stylish
so serene… We’re happy for an excuse to loiter
On a rough morning, an egg sandwich will always hit the spot – but we could weep with joy to behold an Eggspot sandwich
Eggspot has been dishing up their signature fluffy egg sandwiches from Freo Markets for years
creating hangover-blasting combinations like pulled pork
hash brown stack and even a big breakfast sandwich – and now northsiders can get in on the action at their Angove Street location
Recently moving from their long-time Northbridge digs to a new location in Freo, Flora & Fauna continues to leap from strength to strength
Vegan offerings run the gamut from banana bread (a huge wedge
to tropical waffles topped with mango and raw salted caramel

And not that gram-worthiness is the ultimate barometer of food
but we absolutely dare you to resist photographing these technicolour

An Japanese-leaning menu includes comforting dishes like tonkotsu porridge
mentaiko udon topped with a slow-cooked egg
and one of the best chicken katsu sandos we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying
Absolutely adorable. That’s the first thing that comes to mind stepping into Fremantle’s Hinata Café
rustic space serves up cosy Japanese home-style plates – with the main star their monthly rotating brunch sets: a plate of nourishing goodness straight out of a Studio Ghibli film
Love dogs, coffee and urban art? Then you’ll love Holly Raye’s
Tucked away in a Bassendean suburban shopping strip
the exterior boasts a stunning Anya Brock artwork that features the owner’s dog
They’re also serving up some cakes and brekkies as pretty as the artwork – as well as some weekly French dinners that’ll have you saying “Ooh la la!”

the bar out the back (appropriately called…Back Bar) is a leafy oasis with great bar eats
After finally making it down to Kith over the summer break
it’s easy to see why every man and his dog is all over this Nedlands café
the gram-friendly fit out definitely took up a chunk of our camera roll – but we were also compelled to return two days in a row for another taste of that hot honey focaccia and a side of curly fries
Super friendly service sweetened the sting of having to wait for a table
mingling out the front along with the rest of Perth
We’re already concocting an excuse for another visit…
Tucked away down a suburban street in Kensington, the Little Banksia is a delightful hidden gem. This cosy cafe is plating up some truly impressive fare, whether it’s some of our favourite pancakes in Perth
or a truly breathtaking fried chicken burger
It feels like the sun’s always shining at the Little Banksia – due in no small part to their always smiling

local ingredients and basically local legends in general
It’s always a great vibe for coffee and some eats – they’ll make you a polony and sauce sanga that’ll even make ya mum blush along with heaps of other awesome “bush-food” inspired offerings
Psychedelic vibes and mindful nourishment? Sign us up to all things Magic Apple Wholefoods
Inspired by the health food chain ubiquitous across Perth in the ’70s
hit up Magic Apple for post-swim peak performance smoothies
nourishing bowls and the best view in Perth
It’s no secret that we’re big fans of a pancake stack, any day of the week. Luckily, so is Mellow Coffee
Taking over the space that used to be Yellow Pancake (RIP)
they’ve wasted no time in drawing crowds eager for their impressive list of indulgent brunch items including fluffy buttermilk pancakes
crunchy chicken waffles and a Greek bowl featuring a yoghurt stuffed tomato
Since opening the doors to their Mount Lawley store at the tail end of 2016, Modus have really set the standard to what exciting things a teeny tiny coffee shop can do
From their steadfast commitment to quality coffee
to their collaborations with other top local producers… it was only a matter of time before they had to take it to another level
You arrive, panting, at the top of Jacob’s Ladder… you probably deserve a pretty good breakfast now, right? Luckily, Mount Street Breakfast Bar is just around the corner
A limited yet considered menu awaits – think crispy falafel with barley tabbouleh and poached eggs
or crushed avocado and roasted tomatoes with labneh and za’atar
We know, we know… we can’t shut up about North Street Store – not that anyone really needs telling at this point
In spite of a few particularly vocal locals
With the addition of sister store Little Loaf Bakery in South Freo
Big Loaf Factory Bakery and Shenton Park’s Wards Central Dining
these guys are now pumping out even more of the good stuff
the sausage rolls… The bacon and egg baguette (with house-made barbecue sauce
thanks) might be the perfect post-swim brekkie
So Nogi Lane has been a smash (avo) hit with the Dianella locals since pretty much the moment they opened
thanks to an all-day brunch menu that’s bristling with all the classics
along with some very naughty extra offerings
The super-sized baked raspberry pancake topped with honeycomb
condensed milk custard and vanilla ice cream is a surefire way for any sweet tooth to start their day
The heartbeat of Palmyra’s big warm and welcoming community vibes, OUSHK offers a mouthwatering mix of middle eastern vibes
with their Açai and Earth bowls practically world famous at this point
If you don’t want to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere (though we recommend you do)
their cabinet is full of delicious – and healthy – takeaway options every day
There was no greater cause for excitement in the Perth is OK offices in 2021 than the opening of Peggy’s – just about every time we went for a sneaky sandwich we’d end up bumping into each other
This writer is a particular sucker for a sausage and egg muffin
but some of our colleagues may never recover from the disappearance of the Cubano
We said it was sure to be something special
and in the months since opening we’ve been able to happily stand by that prediction (hot hot tip: they also do some of the best hot chippies in town)
Breakfast in the CBD can feel a little… fast and furious. But sometimes, you just need a more convivial, relaxed start to the day. Petition is the answer
Their menu is jam-packed with classic favourites
but always with the Petition approach: hash brown is topped with smoked beef and romesco
Who needs the classics when you’ve got these on offer
We were awaiting the arrival of Preston’s with bated breath – and the Bulwer Street deli has not disappointed
their stellar lineup of sandwiches blends a background in fine dining with nostalgic faves – think house-made fish fingers topped with a mountain of shredded lettuce and a caper-studded
or breakfast muffins paired with the spicy tang of their signature “Preston’s sauce”
the branding and fit out has brought together some of Australia’s best creatives into one very stylish space
Long-time hospo hero Josh McGinnity (Micrology Coffee Roasters, Laika, Hylin to name just a few of his previous projects) has head north! Now open, his latest venture is Runyeh Coffee – a light
bright and pared-back space bringing excellent brews and brunch to Heathridge
Micrology beans (of course) take care of the former
while brunch offerings include stellar made-to-order sandwiches: a Runyeh twist on a Reuben
a truffle mushroom melt on buttery slices of milk loaf
If you could see just how many Satchmo bagels we’ve tallied on delivery apps over the past few years
when you’re laying in bed on Sunday morning
not quite ready to face the day… A gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do
When you need a reliable brunch option – Sixteen Ounces has got you more than covered
this greenery-filled cafe’s menu has something for everyone – whether you’re looking to soak up the previous night’s excess
From the same crew as beloved Subi coffee spot Obi, hole-in-the-wall spot Slow Daze ups the ante with the same killer coffee and even more brekkie choices for rumbling tums
but we dare you to resist the call of that sausage and egg muffin…
If it’s a healthy meal you’re chasing that still packs plenty of flavour, head to Source Foods on the corner of Beaufort and Brisbane Street
A quiet little cafe filled with heaps of nourishing goodness
everything has a gluten free option and there’s almost as much in the way of vego and vegan options
The breakfast board with dippy eggs and soldiers is tough to beat though
South Terrace just keeps getting more and more delicious! Following the arrival of Two Stacks to a cute-as-a-button row of shipping containers in South Freo, neighbouring Staples Bagels has also opened – bringing some insanely good bagels
excellent coffee and even some decadent cookies to the strip
we’ll be returning to tick off the whole menu ASAP
Fine dining meets brunch? We reckon that’s the best of both worlds. Add in a dash of Middle Eastern influences and a partnership with burger hotshots Juicy Buns, and you’re onto a winner. Even better than all these great elements though, is The Tribute‘s community-building and philanthropic approach they’ve fostered since day one
Five top 10 tables help to settle the great debate around the Perth property market; which is superior - north or south of the Swan River
While personal preferences play a large role when looking for a home for yourself
investors need to consider factors like capital growth
We’ve taken a deep dive into the latest data to find which suburbs currently offer the best opportunities for investors
the south shone with seven entries in the top 10
the northern suburb of Bellevue that recorded the most growth
Its median house sale price rose 43.4 per cent in the 12 months to the end of September
The top five suburbs all recorded more than 40 per cent growth
far outpacing Greater Perth’s 21.5 per cent increase
Nine of the top 10 suburbs for house price growth have median sale prices well below Perth’s median of $700,000
making them attractive options for investors looking for an affordable entry-point to the market
minimum 28 sales in year to Sep 2023 and to Sep 2024
While southern suburbs were in the majority on the fastest selling list
it was again Bellevue that took out the top spot
It recorded the fastest selling time in the three months to September
with houses selling in a median of five days
This list represents a wide range of price points
suggesting demand is strong across the market
with six suburbs making the top 10 for median rent price growth
Kewdale recorded the highest growth at 34.6 per cent
while Karrinyup was the top-performing northern suburb and second overall with a 34 per cent increase
Greater Perth saw an 8.3 per cent increase in median weekly rent prices for houses over the same period
Nine of the top 10 suburbs have weekly median rent prices above the Greater Perth median of $650
and all nine are within 15 kilometres of the Perth CBD
minimum 15 leases in three months to Sep 2023 and to Sep 2024
with seven of the 10 suburbs north of the river
Heathridge and Greenwood took out the first two positions
with properties leasing in a median of 10 days in the three months to September
Coolbellup had the shortest time on market
recording a median leasing time of 11 days
The southern suburbs again lead when it came to rental yields
The highest yield was found in Queens Park at 6 per cent
which compares to 4.8 per cent in Greater Perth
All 10 suburbs had a median house sale price below the Greater Perth median of $700,000 in September and yields over 5 per cent
Although the southern suburbs had the greatest representation on four of the five lists
northern suburbs claimed top spot on three lists
What the data shows is there are good investment opportunities available on both sides of the river
While this was an interesting study of the Perth market
investors need to remember that past performance isn’t a guarantee of future performance
The very strong house price growth Perth has seen in the past year will moderate over the medium to longer term as the WA Government’s various initiatives to boost housing supply take effect and supply increases
We have already seen the rental market ease over 2024, with the vacancy rate increasing and median rents stabilising.
Perth’s strong economic fundamentals, particularly within the resources sector, continue to bolster demand for high-end real estate.
In terms of capital growth, the south of the river in Perth shone with seven entries in the top 10. It was, however, the northern suburb of Bellevue that recorded the most growth. Its median house sale price rose 43.4 per cent in the 12 months to the end of September.
While Perth's southern suburbs were in the majority on the fastest selling list, it was Bellevue that took out the top spot. It recorded the fastest selling time in the three months to September, with houses selling in a median of five days.
Kewdale recorded the highest growth at 34.6 per cent, while Karrinyup was the top-performing northern suburb and second overall with a 34 per cent increase. For comparison, Greater Perth saw an 8.3 per cent increase in median weekly rent prices for houses over the same period.

a good local bowlo is worth its weight in lawn bowls
And the criteria for what makes a great bowls club is pretty simple:
Are the greens in good nick? Are the pints cheap? Are there friendly faces at the bar up for a yarn
Below you’ll find a bunch of places that always have these ticked off
along with a few other added bonuses along the way
Meat raffles, chase the ace, sport on the tele, purple ATM… Doubleview Bowling Club has it all, including a well-stocked bar slinging out great drinks at bowls club prices. Wednesday and Friday nights have some incredible food courtesy of Special Delivery
it’s cheap as chips to become a social member
and there’s free barefoot bowls on Sunday arvos too
One of Perth’s oldest bowlos (it’s celebrating its 90th birthday in 2025), Bassendean Bowling Club is a haven for locals
offering darts and pool on top of the action on the greens
It’s got a very pleasant outdoor area AKA The Den
a bunch of big screens to watch the footy on and plenty of smiling faces on either side of the bar
After a few years spent in the wilderness (see also: renovations), the North Freo Bowlo bounced back bigger and better than ever late in 2024
It’s open on Fridays from 4-10pm and Sunday arvos from 2-8pm
but they’ve got plenty going on during those times
and fun for the family in a very community-minded space
They’re on the hunt for new sponsors to keep the good times rolling too
so hit ’em up if you’re a local business who loves a bowlo as much as we do
Osborne Park is big on family and community vibes
offering excellently-priced food and drink all throughout the week
They also don’t mind a spot of barefoot bowling
One of Perth’s oldest and friendliest bowls clubs, Como Bowling & Recreation Club has plenty going on during the week for peeps young and old
Friday nights is when the action is though
chase the ace and barefoot bowls for just $10pp from 6-8pm
get down between 5-6pm for even cheaper drinks during happy hour
They’ve got a bit of everything at Inglewood
The bar is about as old school Aussie bowls club as it gets
For some top shelf inner city bowling action the 125 year old (!) Perth & Tatts in East Perth is the place to be
They also host some high intensity darts competitions on the weekends
and have some pool tables to knock a few balls around if you’re feeling so inclined
As far as letting the (big) kids run wild, the Baysie is the place to be
They’ve got regular food truck takeovers and local brewery tap takeovers are always pouring
A proud club that’s managed to find the perfect balance between the social and sporting side of things
Almost Perth’s most scenic bowls club, the lush surrounds of the Mount Lawley Bowling Club are steeped in history and the art deco designs make for a pretty great function space as well
Another spot that’s rather popular amongst the Mount Lawley young folk
it gets pretty busy on the weekends but always a good time
Cnr Storthes & Rookwood Street Mount Lawley
Yes we’re sorry Mount Lawley, but it’s hard to argue with the “club with a million dollar view” on Bayview Terrace in Mosman Park
they’ve always got something going on including kitchen takeovers
A beacon of good vibes and community, the South Perth Bowling Club is right in the thick of it just next door to the Perth Zoo
so in good nick all year-round and there’s plenty of lighting making for some excellent night time bowling
We just can’t resist some controversy, and after getting everyone riled up over our pizza roundup we’re opening another can of worms…
Here is a few of our favourite spots for Perth’s favourite sandwich: the humble conti roll
After over 60 years in the biz, Princi’s know a thing or two about quality
The same approach that has made them one of Perth’s most sought-after butchers has been applied to their conti rolls
utilising their own house cured meats – which are served at some of Perth’s best eateries
Sandwiched between an Everyday Bread baguette
NSS’s take on the conti roll (available at all their sister locations
Little Loaf and Wards) has their signature blend of old-school appeal with a new-wave irreverence
but it definitely holds its own – in no small part because of the spectacular quality of their signature baguettes
Formerly known as Mortadeli, Nedlands sandwich slinger Grandpa Nino certainly knows his way around a roll
While their signature mortadelli-filled focaccia is arguably the star of the show (and our Instagram and TikTok feeds)
their version of a conti is absolutely worth a trip
Brace yourself for a line but know that it’s worth it
OK, we know we’re pushing the limits with a bagel – but when it comes to cured meats in bread, we’re happy to bend the rules! Staples Bagels became a fast favourite when we visited them shortly after they opened last year… And while we find the call of the chicken Caesar bagel incredibly hard to resist
their conti-inspired bagel is also one for the books
La Mortazza’s rustic rolls will have you dreaming about daytrips through the Italian countryside… But you’ll only have to travel to North Perth
Alongside their great contis and selection of panini
their sweet snacks are sure to put any nonna to shame
Opening in 2022, Melville General Store continued the legacy of excellent sandwiches that Angelo Street Market (their former sister venue
which has since changed hands) established
These guys don’t mess around when it comes to their mammoth rolls – and not only is their conti an absolute contender
but their entire rotating selection of rolls is next-level bonkers good
1.2m-long “Contimental” Rolls… It just has to be seen to be believed
The Osborne Park industrial area crowd may just be the toughest task masters in town when it comes to the perfect conti roll, so when you see ’em gathering for lunch at Montello On Main you’ll understand why
They also serve some great summery salads and have a great many fresh food options yada yada yada… It’s the conti rolls we’re here for and Montello has got ’em on lock
delish take-home meals and their excellent Rokeby Conti
This, of course, really goes without saying. The home of the continental roll, The Re Store sets the standard for the sandwich in Perth
And while there’ll be lunchtimes that we’ll be tempted by the pasta
or the salads… we’ll always go back to the conti
Opening at the tail end of 2020, the impact of Deli’s Continental is just impossible to ignore
Initially emerging as a pop-up attached to Maylands pizzeria Rossonero
Perth took to Deli’s conti rolls with a fervour that was
Having since moved into their stylish Inglewood digs
their conti remains at the top of plenty of sandwich-lovers lists
but their take on a Philly cheese steak also deserves a special mention
as they aptly put it: “a whole lot of provolone”
Honourable mention also goes to their meatball sub
While Charlie’s might not quite have reached the local celebrity of the Re Store
it’s definitely an institution in its own right
the 1700 square metre market incorporates a grocer
butcher and liquor shop (to name just a few!)
Head straight to the cafe for your continental roll – but after you’ve tucked into your roll
make sure to stop by Dolce and Salato for a sneaky cannoli for dessert
Morley (Corner Beechboro Road and Walter Road)
Head to the North Perth plaza for this hidden gem and glorious Mediterranean meals await you
serving up hearty home-cooked meals with a smile
their chicken schnitzel rolls are just about unbeatable around P-town
Freo locals (and those further afield) will be all too familiar with Galati and Sons
Stop by for their super-duper bargain fruit and veg that are almost unbelievably cheap – seriously
the sweet potatoes were 49 cents/kg the other weekend – and a similarly bargained continental roll
you won’t be able to resist browsing through the well stocked grocery for your dinner as well
Nestled inside awesome East Vic Park growers market Swansea Street Markets, Delissimo serve up some quality continental rolls
along with plenty of sweet treats if you’re feeling particularly naughty
The only trouble is the $10 eftpos minimum
but that just means you gotta treat yourself to a big boy conti roll
Unlike many of the other delis we’ve mentioned, Passione is a much more cosy joint
the star of the show is definitely on the deli counter
where you’ll see a mouth watering display of salumi
olives and more (we have a lot of feelings about the marinated octopus)
their offerings aren’t going to disappoint; with traditional continentals on golden
as well as some more New York-deli inspired options for those feeling a little more “oy vey” than “fuggedaboutit”
Kingsley (Corner Kingsley Drive and Creaney Drive)
First established in 1932, before moving to East Fremantle in 1964, Lo Presti and Son are some OGs when it comes to continental delis
very Freo shopfront filled with wooden crates and olive oil cans
but you can get it (and their antipasto trays!
We think that warrants an extra exclamation point…) delivered via UberEats
The Grocer And The Chef have been steadily growing admirers since opening in 2020 – not just for their top-tier local produce
Chief amongst them is their conti roll – on a house-baked baguette
this bad boy is loaded up with cured meats and a healthy dose of artichoke
It only takes one look at the Panini Bar’s freshly made rolls – overflowing with blushing cured meats and melanzane… A picture really says a thousand words
You will have to resist their other fresh rolls though
like that rather tantalising chilli chicken cutlet
You’ll just have to come back again tomorrow for that one
Cockburn’s Tony Ale is another classic of the conti genre
gourmet roll… And sometimes you want an unpretentious classic
While you can get your hands on a very familiar three meat
cheese and salad roll for a temptingly low price
we reckon the Mediterranean roll is really where it’s at

When Perth OPP located a suspicious vehicle on Wednesday in Listowel
the driver backed the stolen vehicle into the police cruiser and then attempted to flee
OPP caught up with the 22-year-old and he faces charges that include dangerous operation
impaired operation and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
also facing probation violation charges and two counts of driving while under suspension
was held in custody at Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Perth OPP
pizza… we can’t get enough of Perth’s best Italian restaurants
Perth’s latest culinary enfant terrible, we can’t get enough of Testun’s irreverent attitude and big flavours
Combining Italian nostalgia with a new-wave Australasian approach
the neighbourhood osteria is quickly making its (neon green) mark
There are certain openings that fly under the radar, and others that become the talk of not just the Perth Is OK! office, but the whole darn town. From the same team as the also excellent No Mafia (see below!) and Balthazar, Vin Populi has been one of 2023’s early standouts – and the pumping dining room is a testament to the good word travelling like wildfire
a late night negroni or luscious bowl of pasta
Offering a delightfully intimate dining experience, La Madonna Nera is pairing some truly delectable libations with a snack game that’s hard to beat. Stop by for some seriously good snack game during aperitivo hour
one of their regional deep-dives as part of the Granturismo series
or simply head to the seductively dark interior for nuovo-Italian date night deliciousness
It would be easy to over-complicate things, but put quite simply: Monsterella gets a lot of things just right
A selection of pasta that will tempt even the most fanatic pizza fiend
Keen for a more intimate vibe? Head next door to Monsterella’s bougier sister wine bar Mummucc‘, favourite night-off haunt of dozens of Perth chefs
but one glance at those Skull Island prawns with bottarga butter and chilli vinegar
or the octopus arrostocini with a fiery nduja oil… Well
With a distinctly Sardinian influence, Acqua e Sale’s menu is both exciting and comforting: the familiar sight of salt and pepper calamari
pecorino and mint… we haven’t even got started with the pizzas
with include traditional seadas – house made Sardinian fried pastry
Who needs a trip to Italy when you’ve got Acqua e Sale
Now run by the fourth generation of Pizzales, Capri is standing strong against the changing whims of fashions
Harking back to the hustle and bustle of ’50s Freo
interior and service punctuated by old-school touches like complimentary soup and bread
All hotel dining is not created equal, and the proof is in the proverbial pudding when it comes to Santini
The menu manages to balance its accessibility with a focus and attention to detail that ensures any less-favourable hotel dining cliches are satisfyingly avoided
while its stylish fit-out transitions effortlessly from business-friendly long lunch to dimly-lit dinner service
While Threecoins is technically the elder sibling of Testun, its recent-ish relaunch has given us a reinvigorated enthusiasm for the more traditional
ten-year-old trattoria – although more traditional can only be defined in relation to its irreverent sibling down the road
Comforting Italian classics are melded with that signature bold flavour and high voltage approach… Think pinsa topped with mortadella
a linguine served with prawn bisque and lemon-spiked mascarpone or lamb chops with a pistachio and mint agrodolce
This list would hardly be complete without at least one wall-to-wall mural, right? Luckily, Ischia’s Beaufort Street dining room features its island namesake
complete with azure water and volcanic cliffs
with plenty of crowd-pleasers: grilled octopus served atop a tomato salad
A stalwart of the Highgate dining scene for years
Simple but luxurious. Comforting but refined. Lulu La Delizia strikes the perfect balance between the high-brow
cheffy approach that sets a restaurant apart
and the comfort factor that keeps everyone coming back
single page menu is accentuated with hard-to-pass up specials that showcase local and seasonal produce
Inglewood (OK, now technically Bedford) neighbourhood spot Cecchi’s has fast become a favourite amongst locals for their share-friendly Italian plates and charming vibes
While the small plates are worth a trip by themselves
the pasta can sure hold its own – from bucatini with Shark Bay cuttlefish to zaffron paccheri with porcini and duck sausage
It could be said that No Mafia’s specialty is “Stuff That Goes Really Well With a Glass of Wine”
is a category we’re well and truly on board for
While we’re a fan of perching on the front balcony for some Spritz-fuelled people watching during those hot Fringe nights every summer
there’s little more comforting than diving into a bowl of their signature braised duck pappardelle
Nestled in between Leederville and Mount Hawthorn, Pappagallo has become one of our favourite go-tos over the years
Whether its their crispy-based pizzas or luscious pastas
add on a burrata to your pizza… but whatever you do
Stories’ resident Italian, Alba’s crowd-pleasing pasta
piccoli piatti and principale is a little slice of sunshine in the city
sip on their selection of spritzes and dive into seafood dishes like kingfish crudo with blood orange
char-grilled squid skewers with squid ink aioli
or grilled whole tiger prawns with garlic butter
This ritzy Dalkeith eatery has more than a dash of Real Housewives of Amalfi glamour – but once you’ve settled into the luxe fit-out, you’ll find a menu of comforting classics suited to a neighbourhood spot… Albeit a rather well-heeled neighbourhood! Dive into Isoletta’s decadently melty eggplant parm
fiery chilli vongole or a delicate bowl of angel hair pasta with Shark Bay crab – or go all-out on an indulgent grilled seafood platter
emerging with aplomb from the turquoise wood-fired oven and topped with Sardinian salame
fior di latte and macadamia or ricotta and preserved lemon with prickly ash
With a flair for showing off WA’s best produce, Post’s menu delicately balances between Old-World-Italian and Perth-right-now – while reflecting the restrained refinement of the State Buildings
Stop by for mouth-watering after-work antipasti (buffalo mozzarella with grilled figs
or delve into their pasta offerings – think rigatoni with guanciale
Since opening back in 2019, Willing Coffee’s Mount Lawley outpost has become a favourite for locals to swing by for a coffee and a croissant
the evening hours sees the bustling café transform into a somewhat more sultry proposition – one with an expansive
Italian-leaning wine list and similarly Italian-leaning menu
whether you’re nibbling on cacio e pepe flatbread and salumi
Posto Matto may not be reinventing the wheel
Classic pasta (and pizza!) with a twist is their MO
so you can look forward to dishes like garganelli with octopus sugo
Hopefully you’ve left enough room after the stuzzichini of lamb ribs
As seductive and intriguing as an Italian film star, Shadow Wine Bar’s dimly-lit dining room is the perfect setting for your next date night
oysters with lemon myrtle or arancini with smoked leek aioli before diving into a plate of veal cotoletta with cabbage
or resisting the urge to Lady and the Tramp a bowl of prawn spaghettini
Highgate’s party paradise has well and truly matured into one of Perth’s must-visit destinations – and its menu manages to put up some pretty stiff competition with the pumping dance floor
you can still get your mitts on those Neapolitan-style pizzas
but you’ll also find it hard to resist the next-level share plates
Showing more than a nod to our enviable coast
alongside an enticing dash of Asian and Middle Eastern influence – with dishes like charcoal lamb skewers with chermoula
brown butter and horseradish cream or scallop crudo with chilli and kumquat
Is there any greater shrine to Perth’s favourite cocktail than the glowing, orange monument that is Spritz Spizzicheria
Their menu takes you from a long afternoon of cocktails and nibbles to more substantial pasta
pizza and mains – or take advantage of their aperativo time: two hours of drinking and snacking specials (Italy’s best recent export?)
We’re starting to think Mount Hawthorn is punching above its weight in culinary options
Hidden away behind Subi thoroughfare Rokeby Road, Cherubino City Cellar is proof that sometimes the harder it is the find
The extensive (of course) wine list features Italian and Australian drops
alongside a tempting menu of snackable selections (prosciutto
An impressive blend of Italian dining infused with the spirit of fresh WA produce, Lalla Rookh‘s menu is a lesson in relaxed decadence
Sommelier Jeremy Prus stocks an award-winning offering of only the finest Italian and Australian offerings

explaining that there are fears of foul play after no sightings of the puppy in the area

but it also sounds like something may have happened
as there have been no sightings of Lola,” she said

Beaco locals rejoiced with the opening of the aptly-named Beaconsfield Wine Bar
Bringing snacks and sips to a suburban shopping strip
pairing his wealth of wine knowledge and his extensive cellar with a newfound home for chef Drew Dawson’s next-level pop-up
Though it started out as an overflow for perfect pizza purveyors Monsterella, off-duty chef favourite Mummucc has become its own monster… Of fine wines
It’s hard to go past the Percy Flint beer garden on a sunny South Freo afternoon
sitting in a chesterfield by the cosy fireplace in winter
wine and cocktail list and classic laidback vibes are all part of the reason we love to pop in and see Percy whenever we can
Just quietly, there’s a bit of a small bar revolution going on in Mosman Park, and we reckon the success of the seafaring Rodney has a lot to do with it. Combined with Samsons Paddock
there’s much to love about this area just across the road from the traino
But it’s hard to resist the lure of Rodney’s relaxed vibe
incredible maritime décor and simple snack options (get the fish tacos!)
Following a brief closure and reset, South Perth’s Nextdoor has emerged with a renewed vigour
Rising culinary star Elliot Sawiras has taken the helm of the fire-powered kitchen as Head Chef
neighbourhood-friendly menu – from retro-classic burgers to hot honey-drizzled stuffed chicken wings inspired by a KFC x sui mai crossover
proteins are taken seriously here – the restaurant is a family business sprung from the neighbouring Olsen Butches
One bite of the 9+ Wagyu Denver practically had us weeping with joy
It was about time Bassendean got a wine bar, and locals are glad it’s Bertie
Bertie has been praised for its British-leaning comfort food
considered wine list and relaxed vibe – it’s practically got us planning a move into the neighbourhood
Located on Stirling Highway, Pep’s promises to be “your home away from home” with its stylish interior and sunny
unpretentious in spite of its luxe surrounds
yet with a wine list no snob could turn their nose up at
So Frenchy, so chic should be 2022’s motto, with an impressive roster of eateries inspired by La République opening during the course of just 12 months. Only a few weeks after opening, La Bastide had already become the talk of the neighbourhood – not just for their classic bistro plates (steak tartare
or for the delightful continental breakfast on the leafy terrace (pastries courtesy of Miller + Baker
but for the warmth and passion that owners (and wine obsessives) Michelle and Rob imbue into their dining room
“A bar behind a café on a road along a train line.” It doesn’t get much more neighbourhood than that, and the leafy, intimate surrounds of Hylin café’s sneaky little Back Bar are a winner
craft beers and some truly tempting nightly bargains will have you feeling very neighbourly in no time
We’ve long extolled the virtues of Lathlain’s Laika as a go-to coffee and brunch spot – so when word reached us back in 2020 that they were opening a neighbouring bar slash restaurant, we were intrigued, to say the least. Our anticipation was not unwarranted: Cosy Del’s has lived up to it
We actually haven’t been able to stop thinking about the steak we had the first time we visited
imbued with smokiness from the hibachi grill and slathered in lardo butter
and our dreams are filled with the charred broccolini with ricotta and hazelnuts
Just down the road from Hylin you’ll find Besk
restaurant and killer bottleshop all in one
Co-owned by one of the blokes behind Mane Liquor
their booze selection is unmatched around Perth
with a rotating seasonal menu and chilled vibes year-round
While their behind-the-bar selections are always on-point
you can always grab something from the bottleshop to drink while you hang there too
The undeniable draw of King Somm might be enough to make us move to Bayswater – that’s what fans we are of this neighbourhood pizzeria
Wine connoisseurs will surely be into their rotating selection of lo-fi drops
while pizza snobs can get into the 72 hour
“pasta riporto” dough and judicious use of toppings
Little Way has been livening up Broadway on Nedlands for a couple of years now
boasting plenty of charm thanks to its heritage-listed building location
A great spot for coffee and brekky in the morning
its afternoon bites and dinner set are also huge winners
North Freo fave Mrs Brown has been doing the neighbourhood bar right for over a decade and it’s no wonder
cosy open fire inside and a sun-drenched courtyard
The friendly – and knowledgeable – staff will guide you through their amazing wine selection
while Flipside next door will guide you through a tasty burger and fries selection
Juanita’s is a bar with character
afternoon drinks at the warm and welcoming neighbourhood favourite have become a fixture for locals
rain or shine (although a bit of shine doesn’t hurt)
Head there for a top selection of eats that pair perfectly with a few drinks out the front
all while your pooch captures the hearts of anyone walking past
This relaxed yet sophisticated wine bar in Shenton Park is a great place for gathering with pals – their share plates are elegant in their simplicity
Across the board pricing is also super reasonable
making it a top spot to pull up for a few hours and chat about the world
At first unassuming, a second look makes it clear why this itty-bitty Swanbourne bar has been creating such a buzz. Vinotto’s drinks are curated by Caitlin Johnston
and hit just about every corner of Europe – in vibe
chef Justin Scarvaci is serving up snacks that truly deliver – we’re yet to find a miss amongst the heavy hitters
There’s something about the Bread and Circuses gang that just knows how to nail a homey neighbourhood spot. As well as the aforementioned St Brigid, they’ve also taken over what used to be the Stanley, transforming it into Albert’s Respite and Refreshments back in 2021
It’s still got some of that living-room feel
a little bit more refined – maybe the living room of your bougie friend
Pop out the back for starlit or sun-drenched sips in their courtyard out the back
There’s obviously something in the water in Doubleview, and with the high concentration of these great small bars… Maybe we should be moving? Another significant enticement to the area is cosy neighbourhood spot, The Corner Dairy
That’s the vision for the Corner Dairy – and one we’re pretty keen on
especially when paired with that sunny alfresco and their interesting selection of wines
Opening in 2021, Parley became a favourite of Mount Pleasant locals with a boutique wine list and decadent bar snacks – think house made chicken liver parfait served with sourdough and pickles
or Fremantle octopus alongside cannellini bean purée and a spicy nduja oil

We’ve always had a strong affinity for camping in Western Australia
and in recent years more and more people are enjoying a lifestyle of camping under the stars
Indeed, plenty of you are wondering out yonder hard, so we figured we’d try and make a decent list for you to try and work your way through. The list is a mix of tent only campsites with a few caravan parks filtered throughout (here’s a list of more traditional caravan and camping parks around WA)

You could argue for a few spots along the Rockingham coastline
but some of the sneakier little spots are left off the map and for you to explore on your own

It gets bonus points for being relatively sheltered compared to many spots along this list
and also has seasonal accessible matting meaning it’s open and available to all

so its placid waters and long white beach are a popular choice
It’s also got some great little snorkelling spots just offshore
A beautiful beach in its own right, Indjidup Beach is not only a popular surfing spot, it’s also home to one of the southwest’s most grammed locations, the Injidup Natural Spa

Jeez they’ve got it good down in Esperance
and Hellfire Bay is another perfect park-up spot with calmer conditions than some other beaches around the place
Hamelin Bay used to be a small port servicing timber mills of the southwest between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste

Nowadays it’s a tourism hotspot thanks to its beautiful beach with the potential for excellent snorkelling
intimate moments with stingrays sometimes as big as 2m across – and it’s that reason alone that puts Hamelin Bay high up on the list

While they were once a tiny hole-in-the-wall just for takeaways and kerbside perching
they’ve since expanded into the dining space next door – making it the perfect spot for cosy sit-down brunches as well.2/390 South Terrace
When it comes to food, Nigella Lawson knows what she’s talking about. So when she Instagrammed her meal at The Shorehouse
known: that it was one of Perth’s best beachside eateries
While arguably more of a restaurant than a cafe
it’s still way high up on the list of where to get brunch with a spectacular ocean view.278 Marine Parade
Of course, this one really goes without saying. Bib and Tucker is a heavyweight when it comes to beachside dining in Perth
There’s no better place to watch the sunset or treat yourself to the huevos rancheros or a cheeky breakfast martini.18 Leighton Beach Boulevard
One of Perth’s best restaurants, period – this one’s gotta be at the high on the agenda for beachside eats. Right on Cott beach’s doorstep, Il Lido is a perfect place for a post swim coffee (using locally roasted Mano e Mano beans) or a rustic Italian feast with friends
they could afford to be a lot worse!88 Marine Parade
A super adorable solar-powered vintage caravan that parks up at Mosman Park dog beach, the Beach Bus ticks a helluva lot of boxes for us… Not only is it tantalisingly close to the water
not only are there dogs a-plenty to befriend
but their açai game is next level and their coffees damn hard to beat
This North Freo gem may have only opened at the end of 2022, but it’s become the favourite for many a beach-going brunch-er. Dive into Palette’s menu of brunch staples (Turkish eggs
a tempting porchetta benedict…) or grab a coffee for the road
we cannot stop thinking about their steak frites sandwich
make sure to keep your eyes peeled for any art you love on the walls – as their name would suggest
the cafe and restaurant doubles as a gallery space for emerging local artists.1 Freeman Loop
Odyssea’s expansive wrap-around deck offers one of the best beach views you’re gonna get
With a menu that’s appropriately seafood-y
and draws from various coastal cuisines (it’s a little bit Mediterranean
you’re set whether you’re grabbing a quick post swim coffee from the takeaway window or a sunset cocktail.187 Challenger Parade
Open for breakfast and lunch, the Lot One kitchen may be small in size
but it’s big on flavour – as well as community spirit
With some high quality eating and drinking on offer
you can pop by for an afternoon spritz or a couple of zucchini and smoked salmon fritters
and soak up the friendly vibes.46 Angove Drive
Since opening in 2019, The Beach House in Jindalee has fast become a real destination venue
The unmatched views are matched by the leafy
beachy attitude and a Bloody Mary that’ll certainly wake you up in the morning.100 Aurora Esplanade
It doesn’t matter how old we get, we can always be seduced by the humble jaffle. As you might have guessed from the name, Jaffelato certainly has those on lock
serving up gourmet jaffles on the Rockingham foreshore
And while the jaffles are certainly restorative
they’re paired with some stellar Leftfield coffee to get you going.3 Rockingham Beach Road
Just down the road from Jaffelato, (and just across the road from the beach) you’ll find OSTRO – for when a jaffle just won’t cut it
Their all day breakfast menu will get you fuelled up for whatever the day holds
with plenty of brunch classics on offer: think eggs bennies
big brekkies and more.11A Rockingham Beach Road

Read on below for some of the best spots to pick up fried chicken around Perth and beyond, and if you’re still hungry, you’ll find a few of these and some others on our fried chicken burgers list
You can’t really talk about burgers in Perth without mentioning Bad Love‘s big
but we humbly propose that their fried chicken offerings are just as good
the real heroes of the constantly-packed West Leedy hangout
You’ll often find us here on a Friday night
chomping down on a Southern Love or oh-so delicately nibbling at a side of popcorn chicken
Hidden away in the Central160 food court, Thai takeaway joint Soi29 (or Soi56
depending who you ask) is home to perhaps our favourite lunch in the city – and in spite of our hesitation to create even longer lines
we can’t deny the magnetic pull of not just their slow cooked beef khao soi
but their unparalleled crispy fried chicken and rice
Truly the salve to any bad day at the office
Next time you’re wandering out Landsdale way make sure you pop in to Christo’s Lunch Bar
With burgers as big and delicious as Christo’s
you may have to wait a little bit for the pleasure but trust us when we say it’s more than worth it
If you really want to clear the rest of your working schedule
hook into one of their signature Hot Boxes – which will show you the best of both worlds with slider-sized burgs and sides of their unreal tendies
We’ve had an influx of Korean fried chicken spots over the past few years, and we’re not complaining. 7grams has quietly built a loyal following since its opening in 2016 in North Perth
moving to their current Lake Street location back in 2020
but the spicy garlic or soy are pretty hard to pass up
Low-key legend Wingman will – as their logo attests – take you on the highway to the flavour zone
(Just try to say that without singing it.) Offering wings in either Malaysian BBQ or southern fried styles
Keep an eye on their socials to see which markets you can hit up to try it for yourself
After earning legions of local fans, Local Bird has become a name we can barely go a day without hearing. With some practically pornographic burgers
we’re not surprised they’ve created such a furore
Smashed patties are beaten to within an inch of their life
and stacked with more queso than you can even comprehend
We’ve broken out into a sweat just thinking about it
While they may no longer be doing their delicious fried chicken burgers, St Brigid‘s chef has turned his attention towards a more snackable fried chicky option – chicken nuggets with togarashi mayo
so we’ll celebrate it wherever we can find it
Speaking of gluten free options, Goody Two’s in the city has been rocking a fried chicken snack plate for longer than most
and for good reason – they do it better than most
Another sneaky snack option when it comes to fried chicken to cherish is the Rosemount Hotel‘s chicken tendies
Though you only get four for $20 with a side of mustard and bbq sauce
we promise you it’ll be one of the best $20 you’ve ever spent
Big Dog’s is a bit of a hidden gem – but if you’re into burgers
These Bedford bad bois know how to keep it old-school
no-muss-no-fuss diner vibes – keeping the attention firmly on the real star of the show: the food
we are absolutely obsessed with these mammoth fried chicken burgers and scrumptious buttermilk tenders
Another Korean kitchen that popped up in 2019, Hwaiting is tucked away in Northbridge’s bustling Old Shanghai
Baskets of crispy chicken are slathered with your choice of original or a temptingly sticky sweet and spicy sauce – which goes perfectly with an ice cold beer
It’s been around for yonks now, but the fact remains: Chimek still brings the goods
Indulge in a humungous range of different fried chicken flavours and pair it up with some classic beer and soju
Bring a friend or 10 and an appetite because the serving sizes are out of this world
Taking over the space that was once home to wine bar and restaurant North Bird, South Bird has shifted the venue’s gears in a big way – and now that we’ve tried the (Nashville-style) goods
Nashville’s take on fried chicken is traditionally served alongside pickles and white bread – but you can also dive into a selection of Southern classics that includes mac and cheese
While many of the other spots on this list are dedicated fried chicken joints, Besk’s beloved bang bang chicken just had to crack a mention
so it’s practically health food in our books (or at least we tell ourselves that)
Perth loves a pop-up, and Archie’s is well worth waiting in line for
you can take things from an oh-so-approachable medium all the way up to FU Hot
you know it’ll be super juicy on the inside and crispy AF on the outside
We’re waiting with bated breath for Archie’s return
One of the originals and still one of the best, Varsity‘s Soul Burger keeps it oh so simple yet always so delicious
tomato and Varsity’s special sauce are all you need to feed whatever fried chicky cravings you have
It won’t leave you feeling absolutely destroyed by burger’s end either
They’ve got a few other fried chicken options
and their burger of the month regularly features fried chicken goodness
If there’s one thing we know, it’s the passion with which Perth locals will stand by their favourite burger spot – and boy oh boy, did we get the message about Compton
As well as their signature smashed patties
these guys have earned plenty of fans with their Raising Canes-inspired servings of sauce and crispy tenders
What happens when you combine a passion for Nashville-style fried chicken, with the attention to detail that comes from a stint at Noma? You get Drasko’s, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Ever since opening at the start of 2021, Drasko’s has made huge waves
with hordes of punters lining up for that crispy
Just down the road from Drasko’s, you’ll find one of the finest Japanese dining experiences in Perth at Tsukaya
While purists may balk at menu inclusions like tacos and umami fries
Outside of the tacos and fresh-as-heck sashimi
