(Nicola Gage: ABC News) Link copiedShareShare articleA taskforce has been established to investigate the drug-related murder of a young man who was left in a car with "very significant stab wounds" outside the Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide's north on Wednesday night. Police suspect the 19-year-old victim from Gilles Plains was stabbed at a house on Pearson Street at Parafield Gardens and are forensically examining the property after blood was found at the scene. Officers were directed to the house by someone who heard screaming inside and a neighbour says he heard a man pleading for his life while being dragged into a car. The victim was driven to the Lyell McEwin in a black Holden Commodore about 9:45pm and CCTV footage shows the male driver getting out and leaving the scene moments after stopping. The victim died in hospital a short time later. Police say the driver ran down nearby Treves Street and then through a yard. The area surrounding the hospital was locked down as STAR Group officers and the police helicopter scoured nearby streets. Two women who were also in the car have not cooperated with the investigation. State Emergency Service personnel joined the searched for clues on Thursday morning, with police doorknocks around the Lyell McEwin and Parafield Gardens. Detective Superintendent Des Bray says the man's death has been declared a major crime and police are following several leads. "It's fair to say that he suffered very significant stab wounds to his body which caused him to die within a very short time," he said. "Most of those people that we've been talking to have a connection with the drug-trafficking environments of Adelaide. SES personnel prepare to search area around Lyell McEwin Hospital for clues about the stabbing. (Rosemary Tierney: ABC News) "The role of all the people in the car and what they were doing in the moments leading up to death is pretty well speculation at this stage. "Certainly the other occupants of that car would know who that person is and they haven't assisted so anybody with information on the identity of the man that fled that vehicle would be very helpful." Police say one of the women is well-known to them. Superintendent Bray says police want to speak to a man in a high-visibility vest who can be seen on the security footage walking past as the driver got out. "I stress to you he's not involved in any way in this incident. He walked directly in front of the car and he appeared to be looking at the man who ran away," he said. Police have been unable to contact the occupant who lives at the Parafield Gardens home. They want to hear from anyone else who has information about the car, which has been seized, or saw or heard anything in Pearson Street between 8:00pm and 10:00pm.
