The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro small SUV – introduced in late 2024 as a rival to the MG ZS and Hyundai Venue – is easily the Chinese brand's most popular model

which was up 58 units on the previous month

Chery has announced it will spin off the Omoda brand in Australia, with the Omoda 3 compact SUV shown in concept form at the 2025 Shanghai motor show in April potentially becoming the first Omoda-branded model to be sold here
with plug-in hybrid versions of the Tiggo Pro 7 and Tiggo Pro 8 heading to local dealers in 2025
The Tiggo Pro 9 large SUV is also on the way
while a separate Toyota Prado-rivalling Tiggo 9L large electric SUV was also unveiled in Shanghai last month but is not yet confirmed for Australia

Roger Fabri has worked with some of Australia's top athletes including Josh Addo-Carr
Fabri was in Wagga recently where he held two clinics in which he tutored the next generation of Wagga athletes
Matthew Brunt was coached by Fabri and he currently has a number of sprint training clients in Wagga through his Advanced Sports Performance program
Brunt thought it was a huge coup for the city to have Fabri come down and impart some of his wisdom to some of Wagga's most promising young athletes
"It was good to get Roger down," Brunt said
"I've been with him for a few years now and it was good to see him come down here
everyone was sitting back and really listening which was good
"He just brings a different view to everything
I had a lot of clients attend and a lot of them see me on a regular basis
"But it's good to bring a new set of eyes to it and everyone was very serious about the sessions
"It brought a new level of concentration level and a bit more energy to the sport of track running, especially with it being a new track."
In addition to working with some elite athletes in Australia
Fabri has also worked with some massive teams in the NFL including New York Jets
Brunt thought Fabri's resume spoke for itself in regards to the level of respect he has in the sprint training coaching fraternity
"He's worked with some pretty big names," he said
"Every time I go and see him he's always got someone new jumping on board
there's plenty from the NRL and NRLW and he's worked with a few cricketers

Seven appliances from Tumbarumba and surrounds were dispatched and were joined by Rural Fire Service brigades
The house was well alight when firefighters arrived

Wagga Wagga suburb Estella is set to receive two new bus shelters and routes after securing funding from Transport for NSW.
Part of the Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme (CPTIGS), the two shelters will be constructed at 2 Rainbow Drive (Estella Shopping Centre) and Estella Road (Estella Public School).
Feedback was taken from the community regarding where they would like to see the new stops, with close proximity to schools and supermarkets coming as a top priority.
They are estimated to be completed by June 30, 2025.
The development of the two new shelters will most likely align with local operator Busabout’s new ticketless tap and go options. The new ticketless option was announced by the state government in late March and a trial is expected by June this year.
In the coming months, 21 local buses in the area will be fitted with the tap and go payment technology, bringing the region in line with metropolitan areas where people have been able to pay without cash for years.
This technology means most passengers will now be able to use their smart phone, watch or debit/credit card to pay for their fares.
“In Question Time last October, I asked Minister Aitchison about the rollout of contactless payment for Wagga Wagga bus passengers, and I welcome her commitment to bringing this new technology to our city,” Independent member for Wagga Wagga Dr Joe McGirr says.
“It will provide streamlined travel options for passengers wishing to pay fares with cards or devices but importantly, those who wish to pay by cash will still be able to do so, delivering a diversity of choice which will hopefully encourage more people to use public transport in Wagga.”

“My older sister previously had completed a double degree in Paramedicine and Nursing through Charles Sturt University

“I commenced my degree in 2016 part-time and online and as a full-time member of the RAN I had to ensure I could juggle study with my employment
Anita received a scholarship from the Wagga Wagga RSL Sub-Branch which helped her achieve her educational goals
“The scholarship covered an entire year of course and subject fees,” Anita said
“I paid for this degree myself and this scholarship made a huge difference to paying for my subjects.”
Wagga Wagga RSL Sub-Branch scholarship spokesperson Mr Rod Cooper said the Sub-Branch is immensely proud to have sponsored Anita Nemarich
Anita had to pause her degree when she took command of HMAS Parramatta
an Anzac Class Helicopter Frigate and the demands of command were incompatible with study
“I returned to study in 2022 and realised how much I’d missed it the previous two years,” Anita said
“I only had a handful of subjects left and my completion was driven by when those subjects were available and I finished my last subject in 2024.”
Anita had to complete 12 weeks of clinical placement as part of the degree and she broke this up into three parts
“Microbiology was my favourite and I loved the team at The Canberra Hospital
“This degree is accredited by Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) and the University works hard to maintain this accreditation; it means people completing the degree will be competitive for employment in the workforce.”

Ms Ley rejected the argument she had been overly absent

Wagga Wagga has been named as a finalist in the 2025 NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, proudly standing as the only inland city in the running alongside a line-up of coastal competitors.
This nomination represents Wagga Wagga’s growing reputation as a leading regional destination, celebrated for its vibrant and modern Australian character.
Wagga Wagga City Council’s Visitor Economy Development Officer Cassandra Farquharson said the recognition was a testament to the city’s passionate visitor economy operators.
“We’re the only inland city in the running and this recognition is a celebration of what makes Wagga Wagga unique – from our riverside adventures and nature-based experiences, to our agritourism and culinary scene, thriving events and welcoming community,” Ms Farquharson said.
“A win would shine a light on the incredible work of our local businesses and attract more visitors to experience everything Wagga Wagga has to offer.”
Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Dallas Tout is encouraging locals and visitors to get involved.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase our city on the state stage” Cr Tout said.
“We know how special Wagga Wagga is, but now it’s time to let the rest of NSW know it too. Every vote counts and I encourage everyone to get behind this and show their support.”
The NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, managed annually by Business NSW, celebrate outstanding visitor experiences across the state.
The program highlights the excellence of regional towns that deliver exceptional attractions, accommodation and hospitality.
Each town submits a detailed application including a video, suggested itinerary and editorial, which are assessed by a panel of industry experts. Public voting also plays a crucial role in determining the winners.
Wagga Wagga’s video submission, Magic Moments, follows a 24-hour itinerary in Wagga Wagga, from sunrise to sunset – showcasing the breadth of experiences in our city. Watch the video on Visit Wagga Wagga’s YouTube channel and social media pages.
Winners will be announced at the Local Government NSW Destination and Visitor Economy Conference in May, with gold winners progressing to represent NSW at the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards.
Public voting is now open and runs until 11.59pm on Sunday 4 May, coinciding with the school holidays, Easter and Anzac Day – a key travel period across the region.
Pictures suppliedWagga's historic Murrumbidgee Mill building has hit the market for the first time as a standalone offering after the land housing the iconic site was split in two
Sudoku and TriviaAll articles from the other regional websites in your areaContinueThe prominent Edward Street location has been listed for sale by national brokerage agency HTL Property
which has called for expressions of interest under the slogan "Where there's a Mill
The building, which has sat vacant and vandalised for some years after previously housing a Lone Star steakhouse
has been listed for sale as The Mill Hotel and described as an anchor asset within the overall precinct
HTL said the sale was the inaugural offering of the building and its adjoining car park
following the recent subdivision of the broader precinct
The overall site once spanned about 15,360 square metres, but an application to subdivide it into two parcels of land was approved last year.
The sale site occupies 7257sqm, which includes about 2500sqm of building, which the selling agents said offers the potential to accommodate up to 32 boutique hotel rooms.
An artist impression reveals the potential future plans for Wagga's Murrumbidgee Mill if it's sold. Pictures suppliedThe structure comes with a partially fitted restaurant and bar, which has an operational kitchen.
The sale is being managed HTL Property agents Ben Kennedy and Paddy Dalton.
"With approximately 2500 square metres of structurally completed built-form, including multi-level concrete slabs, new services infrastructure, and a completely reinstated roof system; this opportunity offers a meaningful head start to incoming capital and operating partners," Mr Dalton said.
Mr Kennedy said the site was "materially de-risked", with the both physical improvements and planning framework having advanced significantly.
"What remains is the application of a visionary lens to realise the full potential of this landmark project," he said.
HTL said an adjoining land parcel was recently sold and would soon accommodate a nationally-branded fuel and quick-service retail development, reaffirming the precinct's commercial credentials and enhancing future customer capture.
"Wagga's evolution as an inland capital is underwritten by both government and private capital investment, and The Mill represents a rare opportunity to anchor oneself at the epicentre of this activity - via either a flagship hospitality use - or more broadly, a mixed-use development of scale," Mr Dalton said.
The Mill Hotel is being offered for sale via an expression of interest campaign, which closes at 3pm on May 1.

will ensure more medical students are trained in rural and regional Australia
The next generation of rural and regional doctors can now study in a world-class medical education facility in Wagga Wagga
thanks to the $26 million UNSW Rural Clinical Campus which has opened its doors to students
Thirty first year students from across regional and rural Australia have commenced their six-year medical degree at The Rural Clinical Campuses, Biomedical Sciences Centre

which is a significant investment in rural medical education and the workforce by UNSW

UNSW Medicine and Health Associate Dean Rural Health and Head, School of Clinical Medicine, Rural, Professor Tara Mackenzie
said the campus marks the beginning of a new era in education for the Murrumbidgee-Riverina region
students studying our full six-year undergraduate medical degree in Wagga Wagga will be able to access the same technologically advanced facilities and standard of teaching as their Sydney-based counterparts,” Prof
our strategic partnership with the Murrumbidgee Local Health District will ensure we continue to provide end-to-end
long-term clinical placements in our local hospitals
training the next generation of doctors to practice in the Murrumbidgee-Riverina and other rural and regional areas
whilst also capitalising on valuable local health research opportunities,” Prof
The Director of Medical Education at the new campus, Associate Professor Rashid Hashmi said the centre was a long-time in the making and now stands as a tribute to all who have been involved in bringing this vision to fruition
and to UNSW’s strong commitment to rural medical education and the rural workforce
“We are excited about the wonderful opportunities ahead for students from the Murrumbidgee-Riverina
and also students coming to the campus from other rural and regional areas

“There is going to be less going to Sydney

Patterson asked the group if anyone had cooked a beef Wellington and if they had advice
Erin said she was making beef Wellington," Ms Hay said
"I think she was at the supermarket and she messaged us something about the beef that she was buying."
She said Patterson had told them the mushrooms came from an Asian grocer
Ms Hay said Patterson asked her for tips on how to make sure the beef Wellington pastry did not go "soggy"
as it was one of Ms Hay's favourite dishes
said she joked: "I'd make a tofu Wellington"
so we had a good laugh about that," she said
Patterson's estranged husband Simon finished his evidence to the jury after almost three days in the witness box
Simon Patterson said his mother stopped reading messages from Erin after trying to solve a dispute
(Diego Fedele/AAP PHOTOS)Defence barrister Colin Mandy SC put it to Simon that he had asked Erin - two days after the lunch - "is that what you used to poison them?"
"I did not say that to Erin," Simon responded
The jury of 15 people were shown messages from a family group Signal chat between Simon
his former wife and his parents - in December 2022 - after he last week claimed she had sent "extremely aggressive" messages to his mother and father
which he said were from a few months later
having a crack at me and accusing me of some things in response to what I'd messaged her about," he said
After his parents tried to help Erin and Simon resolve a dispute over his child support payments
his mother Gail took a step back and stopped reading messages from Erin in the group chat
"Mum really struggled with anxiety," he said
The trial before Justice Christopher Beale will continue on Tuesday
