Just three heats for juveniles at Warwick Farm on Monday morning and the winners are all unraced with two of them by first season sires Hanseatic and Time to Reign and a third from the bargain basement of I Am Invincible
The Matthew Smith trained Hanseatic filly Ivory Frost was fast and professional leading all the way to win by a couple of lengths at her third trial
Gary Portelli won the Group II ATC Silver Slipper with Time to Reign and he puts the polish on his talented son My Mate Elvis
who did everything right to score an easy win at his first appearance
The third heat went to the Bjorn Baker trained I Am Invincible colt Invincible Phantom
who is now two for two at the trials and ran the quickest of these heats in winning by a couple of lengths
Invincible Phantom was purchased for just $160,000 which puts him down amongst the cheapest yearlings by his champion sire
but he comes with a pedigree as his dam Miss Carlotta is a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Autumn Ballet and her grand-dam O’Giselle is a sister to the great champion Lonhro

The big guns were in action at Warwick Farm on Thursday morning with the likes of Via Sistina (IRE)
Ceolwulf and Fangirl stepping out as well as glamour three year-olds Switzerland
but they have been well exposed through social media so we’ll stick to the juveniles and they also held plenty of autumn promise
First heat for the babies went to unraced Nicconi colt Texas
who is trained by Bjorn Baker but runs in the Newgate / China Horse Club colours
He did everything right at his first outing with James McDonald on board
He shaded unraced Lonhro filly Pazryk to win narrowly with Zougotcha’s three-quarter brother in blood Algorithmic finding the line well at his third trial and first this prep with blinkers fitted for the first time
Texas was bought at Magic Millions for $220,000 by China Horse Club/Newgate/Go Bloodstock/Trilogy and was the most expensive yearling at that sale by his sire Nicconi and he is a half-brother to Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Skirt the Law
The full brother to last week’s Group II MVRC Austrralia Stakes winner Schwarz
expensive Zoustar colt Tuscany won at the official 2YO trials in the spring and was then fifth in the Group III ATC Breeders’ Plate and was having his first trial since then
but then went to the spelling paddock unraced
These two drew right away from their rivals
although are chalk and cheese in the way they go about their work with the colt sitting neat and close to the ground
while the filly has a big extravagant action she’s yet to get full control of
Tuscany has a full brother to be offered at Inglis Easter and given he made $1.55 million and his brother Schwarz made $1.25 million, Widden Stud will be hoping for a similar pay day with the next offspring of Group II winner Summer Sham that will be offered as Lot 198.
The last of the juvenile heats was also the quickest with the Godolphin blueblood Frosted (USA) colt Chergui too good for unraced Wootton Bassett (GB) colt State Visit with another Wootton Bassett in Napoleonic working home well for fourth
The winner is a half-brother to Group I winners Alizee and Astern and has raced once for a second to yet another Wootton Bassett colt in Pallaton

Miss Freelove looks set to make a handy debut on the back of a couple of nice recent trials
Held together in the latest one and could have won it if desired
Drawn to get an economical run and should be competitive
Scrumptious has had her chance in second placings in both runs this time in but at the same time has held her ground pretty well
Has an extra 100m now but expect she will be prominent from the outset
Café Au Lait is on debut after two trials at Warwick Farm in the past month and they’ve been typical of the stable as she’s cruised along just behind them

Hidden Motive made a promising debut in the spring running fourth in the Breeders’ Plate
Latest couple of trials have been strong at Muswellbrook and Newcastle and while drawn wide it’s not such a bad thing at this start
Outer Banks won two trials in March including one over subsequent Group 1 winner Vinrock
Was scratched from a race last week which explains the gap
Explicit showed some nice improvement into his second trial for a closing second at Rosehill two weeks ago
Dwayne has been honest in both starts to date
leading and just being run down late at Gosford a couple of weeks ago
with the inside alley he’ll have every chance to go one better
Jason Darren has been placed in five of his six starts and has been on the pace in each of them
Another placing is within reach at the least
Sacro Cantino showed a bit of staying promise in his first preparation and comes here fresh at a mile off one trial
First Thought is on debut for the Maher stable and the mile probably suits first-up after working to win a 1200m trial recently

Has gone back from wide gates in two runs in Victoria and closed off strongly in both
particularly the latest when third at Ballarat

Has trialled again since and drawn to get every chance to measure up
Media World took on much stronger company in the spring with his best effort a third behind Swiftfalcon at a mile
Recent trial winner drawn nicely and he’s entitled to show something first-up
Candlewick probably should be unbeaten but either way she ended her first prep with an easy Kensington win back in December
Might have found the 804m a touch sharp in her latest trial but she worked home well and from the inside should be prominent
How Dare You promised a bit last preparation but was winless in three runs
Arguably should have gone very close first-up where she blew the start and was held up so a big run fresh isn’t out of the question
Hellbent On You has returned in good form with a first-up Hawkesbury win then her closing third at Kensington three weeks ago
Snack Bar was thrown in the deep end in the spring and performed well with placings behind Autumn Glow and Lady Shenandoah in his first two
Kicks off here at a shorter trip and fitter for two trials which suggest he’s in good order
King Of Roseau has been gelded since his two start Queensland prep over summer where he wasn’t disgraced in the Magic Millions
Nice trial win over Imperial Force recently and he’s capable of winning this on his best efforts
Drift Net has tended to find one or two better as she did in all five runs last preparation
She can be expected to be competitive as usual
Poppin’ Champagne ran a nice race first-up two weeks ago at 1400m and should appreciate a firmer track for the step-up to a mile
She has run some nice races in good company and from the inside gate there should be no excuses
It’s A Knockout will need a bit of luck from the barrier
but she’s down in grade after starting in the market in the Epona on Golden Slipper Day
Group 3 placed at Randwick before that and she has to be considered
Jamberoo was placed in the Little Dance in the spring and he can run a cheeky race fresh at the mile
How to play it: Poppin’ Champagne EACH-WAY.’
Best Bets: Race 4 (4) Soul Of Spain; Race 7 (4) Snack Bar

There were four heats for juveniles at Warwick Farm on Friday morning and they featured the first appearance of the new year for highly rated unraced Wootton Bassett (GB) colt Wodeton and while he did not win his heat
he certainly did all that was required on this occasion
The Chris Waller trained Wodeton was having his second trial following a second to West of Swindon back in October and had James McDonald to ride
He was ridden quietly in the early stages to settle back in the field while the eventual heat winner Namaste was driven forward to lead and stayed there
Namaste went around at the official 2YO trials at the start of spring and is obviously a speedier type for his champion sire and showed it again here when kicking on to win by a long head over a surging Wodeton
who was always well held together with Kerber
the full brother to dual Group I winner In Secret in fourth place
Namaste is from a famous Gooree Stud nurtured speed female family with his dam Alam Mo Na
a winning daughter of Group III winning sprinter Queen of the Hill
a half-sister to Group I winning sire Northern Meteor
Wodeton was a $1.6million Magic Millions purchase from Segenhoe making him the highest priced colt from the first Australian crop of Wootton Bassett and is the second foal of stakes-winning Exceed and Excel mare Fiera Vista. Her third foal is a colt by I Am Invincible that will be offered by Segenhoe at Magic Millions as Lot 396.
Godolphin won the previous trial with unraced Bivouac colt Beiwacht
who trialled twice during the spring before a short break and was having his first outing in a new prep and looked the professional this time around
He did everything right to win by three-quarters of a length over Fierceness
a son of first season sire Fierce Impact (Jpn) trained by Matt Smith
who also trained his sire and flashy black colt Crossbow was an eye-catcher in third place
Star Thoroughbreds have already had some fun with his sire Better Than Ready through $1million earner Chrysaor and Crossbow looks a likable colt in the making
Beiwacht is a half-brother to stakes-winner Gravina from Group III winner Metastasio
a half-sister by Street Cry (IRE) to dual Group I winner Colette
The only filly to win a heat was the Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald trained Giddy Girl
who reversed the form of her only previous outing at Hawkesbury last month
the daughter of Written Tycoon was slow to begin
reluctant to get going and was ultimately pulled up failing to finish
sat outside the leader and worked strong to the line to win by half a length over Farnan colt Iniesta
Giddy Girl was a $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from Coolmore for Annabel Neasham Ladies/William Johnson Bloodstock and is the third foal of stakes-placed Denman mare Kanga’s Eye
a grand-daughter of Group II winner Sky Watch

The ‘blue army’ was out in force in the two year-old fillies maiden at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when Godolphin sent out four unraced fillies trained by James Cummings
three of them by Street Boss (USA) and a fourth by Bivouac and they were one
The favourite was Tempted ridden by Zac Lloyd and she duly asserted close to home to claim victory by half a length over Daphnes with Lipstock third and Sphere fading to finish sixth
A half-sister to Group II winner Kallos from Group II winning Exceed and Excel mare Calliope
Tempted impressed when second in a recent trial and duly ran to expectation
Tempted is the third winner from three foals to race for Calliope
who has a yearling colt by Pinatubo (IRE) and is now in foal to Street Boss’s champion son Anamoe after slipping last year

Love and Light is racing well and comes to the midweeks after a dominant 4.9L at Newcastle’s Beaumont track
It’s important to note that this was a country and not a provincial meeting but still impressive
The 2nd horse has since come out and won well
Where I think she brings the most upside is the fact she will be getting back on a firmer track compared to the Heavy 8 she won well on 1st up and the 2 Heavy tracks she raced on at the backend of last prep
She did fail at her only start on a Good track but that was on a hot summer day and she was found to pull up with heat stress
Being a Capitalist filly and having won a recent Randwick trial by 3.5L on a Good 4
we can be confident a firmer surface will suit her jump and run style

Grand Eagle has had a good grounding for a debut with two trials in February and looked the part scoring an easy win in the second of them at Rosehill a couple of weeks ago
Draws to be prominent and he should give a good account
Kilman has had a few trials and looked to be stoking up well late in the latest of them
Have to be wary with James McDonald stepping on board
Farnished has been on speed in his two recent trials with seconds in both
Should put himself up there and don’t underestimate
Frostfire made a handy debut winning over 900m at Newcastle
Small field again and is in the mix.How to play it: Grand Eagle WIN

Polymnia was a drifter in betting first-up over 1400m two weeks ago and was only warming up at the finish when running into second
Majorca Sunset comes through the same race where he was favourite and did appear to have his chance in the run in finishing fourth
Did have an excuse or two having lost a shoe so is entitled to another chance
Bendrodt has been honest with placings in his past three
No match for the first two at Rosehill last week but the winner does look smart. How to play it: Polymnia WIN
Brigidine Gal comes through what looks a strong race at Warwick Farm a couple of weeks ago
and she did run on well when it was all over
Fitter for it and while coming back 100m she’s drawn nicely
Istolea Merc is an up-and-comer who has knuckled down strongly to win his last two at Nowra
Handled the drop of 100m in his stride last start and there’s no reason he couldn’t go on with it up marginally in class to a BM64
Koios broke through at Scone in easy style before a closing second at Canterbury
Draw should see him settle a bit closer this time around. How to play it: Brigidine Gal EACH-WAY
Admitted has won two from three and was rested after an easy win at Kembla in October off an 11-month break
Wondereach is much better than what he showed at Moonee Valley last time
and it’s worth forgiving on the strength of his consistent efforts over this track and trip in three prior runs
Metallic Ruler has his first start for Bjorn Baker
and he’s trialled up quite well on two occasions
He could find this a bit slick but wouldn’t be leaving him out.How to play it: Admitted WIN
Iconic Treasure likely found the 1100m a touch sharp when resuming
but he did warm up late to be beaten under two lengths
Unbeaten second-up and nicely placed to be right in the finish
So Good So Cool gets the blinkers on after an even third at Canterbury
Tenderize led all the way to win that race at Canterbury and stays down in the weights after the claim
Sting In The Tail was pretty much a good thing beaten at Canterbury a couple of weeks ago
she was badly squeezed up and almost fell in the first 50m and settled well back before going down narrowly
Seven’s made a promising local debut with a closing third over a mile at this track about six weeks ago
Was a late scratching from a recent meeting here which isn’t ideal
but he will appreciate getting out over more ground
Philipsburg broke through over this course for a strong win two weeks ago
Usually runs an honest race. How to play it: Sting In The Tail WIN
Cool Jakey had good support second-up at Randwick but had cardiac arrhythmia and dropped right out
Unbeaten in three runs at this track and any rain around would be right in his favour
If he’s going to bounce back then this is the right scenario
Panic will be fitter for two runs back and has stayed on pretty well to be just behind the placings in both
Drawn out again but it’s not such a big deal at this starting point
Rolling Magic found the line with plenty of purpose late when resuming at Newcastle in a handy form race
Extra 150m looks in his favour and he’s well worth including in the chances. How to play it: Cool Jakey EACH-WAY
Up To Mischief looks a good each-way chance on the back of a closing second at Canterbury last time out
She’s racing honestly without winning so far this prep and has the option to roll over from the wide gate and get onto the speed
Just Glamourous led all the way and gripped on when resuming at Canterbury a week earlier over 1250m
Will be in the firing line again and has to be respected
Makena is first-up from a Melbourne campaign in the late spring and has had the one sharp public trial over 740m
Gate one and James McDonald on at 1400m fresh makes her a little dangerous

Godolphin heavy hitters Broadsiding and Golden Mile
back as a gelding from a failed attempt at stud
were heat winners at Warwick Farm on Tuesday morning
but our interest was in the juveniles with Golden Slipper favourite Wodeton out to enjoy a leisurely tick over trial
while another unraced son of Wootton Bassett (GB) also caught the eye
First of the juvenile heats over 790m was also the quickest with newly gelded Gambler again producing a brilliant effort with the Peter Snowden trained son of Capitalist putting a gap on his rivals at the finish to win by three lengths
Also keep a little eye on unraced Frankel filly Enviable
having a very quiet first trial for the Waller stable with James McDonald on board
has the pedigree to suggest she will be a speedier style of Frankel
Gambler had one start in the spring when unplaced in the Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial
but has returned a different horse since being gelded
He is a half-brother to three winners headed by stakes-placed Nitrous and is from Group II placed Flamboyant Lass
He might not be a sire prospect anymore for the James Harron Bloodstock partners
but he’s going to look very appealing to Hong Kong
Wodeton went around in the next heat and was never out of second gear in a contest won by the Marc Conners trained Anders filly Infant Warrior
who was having her second trial and did everything right
Farnan colt Nashville Jack found the line well for second and has had a good education with four trials
two last year and two this year and does look ready to go racing and be competitive
A modest $30,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer
Infant Warrior is a half-sister to a winner f rom a winning half-sister by Charge Forward to stakes-winner Vinland
The John O’Shea and Tom Charlton trained Wootton Bassett (GB) colt Napoleonic looked nice at his first trial last month closing off late for fourth and did similar this time albeit with a bit more intent and got home to win by ahead for Kerrin McEvoy
A $360,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Widden Stud for Dean Hawthorne that runs for Jonathan Munz, Napoleonic is a half-brother to six winners including Group III winner Ready Set Sail and stakes-placed Set the Sails being from good producer Jolie Brise, whose yearling filly by Zousain will be offered at Inglis Easter as Lot 4 by Cannon Hayes Stud.

Muswellbrook trial winner a couple of weeks ago and is capable of showing up
Manukau was a shade disappointing on debut but improved with a closing second at Hawkesbury last time out
Still on the up and a wet track might be a plus

California Sunrise hasn’t finished worse than fourth in seven starts and while best is probably at 1400m plus she can run a race fresh
Linwood wasn’t fancied in betting at her only start but swept home to win on a heavy track here back in July
While 1200m likely short of her best this prep she could show up.How to play it: Modella WIN
Dr Evil ran about as well as he could on a dry track coming off a seven-week break at Hawkesbury

Arqana was a solid favourite at Flemington a month ago and didn’t really make an impact
Imposing Pier looked the winner when he darted through on the inside at Hawkesbury last time only to be nailed on the line

She’s only raced four times for a win over 2112m on a soft track at Chester in September
Father’s Day has just come back a notch off his excellent effort first-up at a mile but getting to 2200m now will be right up his alley
Perspiration hasn’t raced since he ran down Gatsby’s to win at Listed level in September
No public trials but has been in work for some time given he’s been scratched from dry tracks of late
and she’ll be able to cruise across onto the speed
Doesn’t appear 1400m will be an issue
Warwick Farm hosts an eight-race card on Wednesday with a BM78 being the featured race on the card in Race 7
The first race commences at 1:45pm AEDT and the last concludes at 5:50pm AEDT
The rail is true and the conditions are set to be GOOD
Shannon Buckley brings you his three best bets for Warwick Farm below
(2) Wondereach $7.50: 5YO Gelding who was racing honestly up until last start
Expecting him to bounce back and goes well over the 1000m sprint
He gets into this race nicely at the weights with Braith Nock claiming 3kg
(4) Admitted $2.00: 3YO Gelding who is 2 from 3 in his career and has trialled nicely leading into this
Both wins have come from a first up run and over the 1000m sprint
(7) Ride The River $6.50: 3YO Gelding who was brave in defeat last start at this track/trip
Fitter again now third up and only gets an extra kilo on his back from last start
Drawn to effect again and will be a top hope
(2) Desiah $9.50/$2.80: 5YO Mare who has been safely held in both runs this prep
but that has been against much tougher company on Saturday
She is back to midweek racing now and gets back to 1200m which is where she does some of her best work
(3) Iconic Treasure $6.00/$2.10: 5YO Gelding who was far from disgraced over 100m in this grade first up
He is fitter now second up and boasts a nice record over this trip
(7) Acappella Sun $4.50: The favourite of the race who was terrific last start at Canberra
(2) Mistressofillusion $23/$4.00: 5YO Grey Mare who looks to be one of the roughies of the day
She wasn’t the worst first up with form behind some talented types
She will be fitter for this and looks suited back at Midweek level
(3) Seven’s $4.20: The French import who was smashed in the market for his Australian Debut run and hit the line nicely
Out to 2110m now looks ideal and appears to be the main danger
(10) Sting In The Tail $3.00: 4YO Mare who has been racing well this campaign and has only been beaten narrowly in her last two outings
Deserving another win and looks a top hope

Strong Trade was a beaten favourite before a spell at Hawkesbury when he ran off the track badly before righting himself and hitting the line again
Gelded since that run and trialled nicely leading into this
Racing returns to Warwick Farm on Wednesday for an eight-race card.Credit: Getty
Leconfield appeared to have his chance in the run when resuming at Kensington two weeks ago
he held on OK for fourth and will be fitter
Just comes back 100m in trip but drawn well and open to improvement
Sisu Spirit was unwanted in betting on debut at Newcastle but kept coming to the line to be narrowly beaten over 1200m
Imagine he’ll try to roll forward from the wide gate and he’s worth keeping safe
Divine Ella trialled very strongly leading into this first-up run and she didn’t do a whole lot wrong in her first preparation
Might want a little further but worth including in the chances
Komodo Dragon was a beaten favourite at Kensington last start but he was five weeks between runs and just weakened late
his two wins prior at this distance were strong and he’ll get his chance to atone
Aye Aye Captain broke through for a strong maiden win at Rosehill three weeks ago and in the style of a horse who will appreciate further than 1200m
Improving with each run and if she does again she’s right in the finish
Evenflow led all the way to comfortable win over this distance at Newcastle when resuming and the form out of it has held up OK
Draws to be right there again and could measure up
The Three Hundred was beaten at odds-on at Hawkesbury first-up then led all the way at Rosehill three weeks back
Should go forward again and if he holds form he’s somewhere in the finish
State Of America was dynamic winning a Midway by a big space on Epsom Day and looks well placed to back it up
He’s won at 2000m so the extra trip shouldn’t be a worry and gets an economical run from the inside gate
he’s run well in a couple of Midways this time in from wide gates where he’s had to give away too much start
Nice effort running into second behind State Of America last time and commands respect
Vaguer hit form quickly this time in with a solid on pace win over this sort of trip at the long weekend
Can only be fitter for the two runs back and is a definite chance
So Sleek is racing well this time around with placings at Kembla and Kensington over shorter trips
Gets into his comfort zone now and is an each-way chance at least
Pisanello looks well-placed first-up on the back of two excellent trials
Giga Kick ran him down in the first then he cruised into third in the latest a couple of weeks ago
Should have won first-up last prep and will get the tempo required to be finishing over the top
Another Cognac won impressively over this course in August and comes back in class after failing to fire at Rosehill almost a month ago
He’s another who would relish a good speed up front and has to be given another chance
Split Decision is an interesting runner resuming with a nine lengths barrier trial win to her name
She’s twice a winner over 900m but isn’t generally a front-runner so the trial win is curious
Ringarosa tends to perform well fresh and she showed some nice improvement in her second trial this time around
No surprise if she’s somewhere in the finish
How to play it: Pisanello WIN; Trifecta 8/6,9,11/6,9,11
French Endeavour is hard to go past despite stepping up a notch on her easy win at Kensington two weeks ago under 60kg
Takes on the boys and carries the same weight
draws well and she just seems to have come back better this time in
Crafty Eagle can be a shade enigmatic but he was strongly supported when winning at the same Kensington meeting
Barrier isn’t as kind to him here but he does tend to race forward so may be able to offset it
Need Some Luck has been a beaten favourite in both runs this time in and might be looking for the extra ground now
Should appreciate getting back onto a good track after chasing Ravenclaw home on soft last time
Zouatica comes off a strong all the way Kensington win second-up
has an extra 2kg here and the only real query is whether he’s now looking for the mile with the Big or Little Dance coming up for him next
How to play it: French Endeavour WIN; Trifecta 4/2,3,11/2,3,11
Modesty is quite an interesting import having his first run here on the back of one trial where he swept home to be beaten 1.5 lengths in a blanket finish over the short trip
UK form suggests he’ll excel around a mile or so but no surprise to see him run well fresh
Rapbidash went back to last when resuming at Kensington and found the line nicely first-up without looking a threat in an on pace dominated race
Fitter for that and drops further in weight
Spanish Fox is flying of late with three straight wins and steps up again in class after an all the way success at Kensington
Down 1kg in weight and he can give a sight if he finds the lead
Hello World found the front from gate one when winning at Kensington so will have some more work to do from the wider alley this time
Hard to leave out though as he makes his own luck
Anderson Bridge resumed with a handy second over this course earlier this month and in a similar event he’ll be fitter and he’s aided by a slightly softer draw
Gets a weight swing on the horse who beat him there and if he’s improved he gets his chance to turn the tables
Be Real is a promising middle distance mare who was sound when resuming at Newcastle over 1500m
closing off late but finding it a touch sharp
she’ll be fitter and could easily be in the finish
Ambassadorial enjoyed a nice run from the inside gate and proved a touch strong when resuming here beating Anderson Bridge
Is up 2kg but has to be respected as he’ll be in this a long way
Interjection won twice at the provincials before stepping up to Listed company and boxing on OK behind Swiftfalcon at Randwick on Epsom Day
Takes on older horses here but have to include in the chances
Expect he’ll run well fresh at this trip
Imagine he’ll try to roll forward from the wide gate and he’s worth keeping safe
Divine Ella trialled very strongly leading into this first-up run and she didn’t do a whole lot wrong in her first preparation

No surprise if she’s somewhere in the finish
Barrier isn’t as kind to him here but he does tend to race forward so may be able to offset it

Six trials for the two year-olds at Warwick Farm on Friday and there were plenty of big banger yearling buys at the pointy end
along with a bargain by Written By and yet another Farnan colt showing talent
Heat 9 saw the first look at Tigleta (2f Capitalist x Paulita) for Bjorn Baker with a couple of high powered placegetters
A $140,000 buy at Inglis Classic for Baker and Clark Bloodstock from Newgate Farm
she’s out of a dual stakes winning mare by Scat Daddy
Runner-up Thalestris really caught the eye hitting the line hard and looks ready to go after three trials in the last few weeks
A $1.8million yearling by I Am Invincible from Notting Hill
her third dam is the famed Shantha‘s Choice
Third was another unraced I Am Invincible filly in Rajwa
a homebred for Emirates Park and the half-sister to Manaal
Heat 11 – won impressively by Penpel
a filly by Written By from Peltier having her first trial back since seen at the official trials in September
She was a $20,000 buy for her trainer from Widden Stud at Book Two of Magic Millions Gold Coast and that’s looking like it’s going to be a bargain
We also saw another strong finishing display from the unraced I Am Invincible filly Sylph at her second trial
Sylph is a homebred for Yarraman Park and half-sister to Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate winner Booker and stakes-winner Banquo
Heat 12 - The Waterhouse Bott stable gave expensive blueblood Written Tycoon colt Chicama another test out to win his heat
He’s had one start for a pretty average effort when down the track on debut in the ATC Golden Gift last year but has turned in two strong trials this new preparation
A $1.35million Inglis Easter purchase for China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock / Trilogy
he’s a colt with a huge pedigree as a half-brother to triple Group I winner Shoals and stakes-winner Groundswell being from The Broken Shore
We got our first look at the runner-up here
another expensive Magic Millions colt in Beadman
By Snitzel out of French stakes winner Iffranesia
he was a $900,000 buy for the same team as Chicama but trained by Peter Snowden
Heat 13 – We got a look at the return trial of million-dollar Zoustar colt Jet
Given a quiet trial on the Kensington Track in December when quite green
he was much better this time sitting up on the pace and getting to the line nicely
Jet was a $1million buy at Magic Millions Gold Coast for James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership from Segenhoe Stud as agent for Fairway Thoroughbreds
He’s the first foal of stakes wining Foxwedge mare Villami from a strong family which includes VRC Oaks winner Personal
Impact Zone also trialled nicely and not for the first time
By Exceed And Excel from NZ Group II winner Gift Of Power
he was a $575,000 buy for China Horse Club and partners from Rosemont Stud at Magic Millions
Heat 14 – The first look at yet another Farnan colt showing plenty of talent in Farindira
Out of NZ Group II placed Falkirk mare Somethinginvain
Farindira was a $120,000 buy for Kia Ora Stud/Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott from Clarke & Croft Bloodstock at the Magic Million National Weanling Sale
The colt showed good natural pace once he hit his stride and went to the line with plenty to offer with the look of a horse that’s going to keep improving
He’s the third unraced juvenile trial winner waiting in the wings for the first season Golden Slipper winner who has had five winners to date and sees three of his colts running in tomorrow’s Golden Slipper

Majorca Sunset is a gelding from the Baker yard that I want to be following
He went into the blackbook after he was strung up on heels until the 50m and rocketed through the line over 1200m at Randwick on Boxing Day
He was freshened up and sent to Wagga for a Super Maiden after an eye-catching trial win
He settled towards the rear there and hit the line really nicely for 2nd
He will appreciate stepping up to 1400m at Warwick Farm jumping from a good gate
The extra speed coming out of what was already looking like a moderate tempo is a concern

His older brother has developed into a group-level winner this season
so the bar is high for Istolea Merc as he takes the step into city grade at Warwick Farm today
The four-year-old is a year younger than Iowna Merc
who claimed the group 3 Liverpool City Cup last weekend
and comes off two Nowra wins into the Agency Real Estate Handicap (1300m)
Bjorn Baker is out to continue his good form at Warwick Farm.Credit: Getty
Trainer Bjorn Baker’s racing manager Luke Hilton said there are similarities between the brothers but if anything Istolea Merc is blessed with a better constitution
“They’ve both taken a bit of time,” Hilton said
but he’s improving and improved out of sight this preparation
Mentally and physically he’s so much better every time
He’s taking each step in his stride and deserves a chance on Wednesday.”
Iowna Merc started his career in November of his three-year-old season while Istolea Merc’s debut was back in September this season so he’s got some catching up to do
Hilton said his last start win at Nowra on February 23 had plenty of merit given he was coming back from 1200m to 1100m
He was good enough to run down the well-supported favourite Rose Aye
“He did a good job with an unsuitable set-up
but it was a nice race for him,” Hilton said
“We think he’s been looking for the extra trip so the 1300m shouldn’t pose any problems to him.”
Majorca Sunset is still looking for that maiden win in the Drinkwise Mile (1600m) after a last start fourth at Warwick Farm that the Baker stable is happy to forgive
The three-year-old was a solid favourite when beaten 2-3/4 lengths by Conichero over 1400m two weeks ago
“He was a touch disappointing the other day
he copped a bad bump mid-race and lost a shoe,” Hilton said
if he gets back to what we thought of him prior to that he should be hard to beat.”
Racing NSW boss Peter V’landys has flagged his interest in offering the winner of the new NZB Kiwi slot race automatic entry into the $10 million Golden Eagle
In an interview with NZB Kiwi’s Andrew Gourdie
V’landys said former NZ Thoroughbred Racing chairman Cameron George was looking into a link between the races
the richest race for three-year-olds in the Southern Hemisphere
Public Attention and Perfumist top the market
a race for four-year-olds held in late October at Rosehill
“We’re very interested in having that partnership
and we’ll have discussions with the New Zealand Thoroughbred board in making it an automatic entry to the Golden Eagle for the winner,” V’landys said.Craig Kerry
Jockey Dylan Gibbons returns from four months out with a shoulder injury for his first trials on Wednesday at Newcastle
who will relocate from Newcastle to Sydney on Monday
had a left shoulder reconstruction in November
He first injured the joint in a pre-race fall at Port Macquarie on October 11 and was cleared to return six days later
Problems persisted until he succumbed to the injury on November 5
after which scans revealed a fracture and ligament tears
The 23-year-old gained a clearance to ride again on February 19 and has since been back at track work
I’ll be ringing my manager straight after and looking at a return date.”

Blue Vein has to go on top though there’s a chance he comes out if it’s heavy
Returned from eight months off the scene with an eye-catching third at Randwick on Boxing Day and has a completely different set up from barrier one with a run under his belt
Sunshine Law has a couple of soft 7 placings from last time in so she should handle whatever conditions present
Started $1.40 when resuming at Newcastle and ran on without threatening into second place
Vetwelve was a significant drifter in betting first-up at Canterbury but did run on nicely enough into second. How to play it: Blue Vein WIN
Racing is back at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.Credit: Getty
1.Believe In Angels should have finished a lot closer on debut when runner-up at Wyong and did a good job to squeeze through and fill that placing after being sandwiched close to the line
Likely to have some upside off just one trial and if that’s the case he’s a good chance
and she found the line quite well in her latest trial at Rosehill
Railway Man was an expensive yearling and has placed once in four starts
Boxed on OK when resuming in a good form race at Canterbury a few weeks ago
This is a good opportunity to show something. How to play it: Believe In Angels WIN
It’s A Wonder is well-placed third-up after a top win at Hawkesbury then a fifth in a Midway at Randwick where she didn’t get the best of luck
Just has to overcome a potentially slowly run race
Alice Mae finished just ahead of It’s A Wonder in that Midway
and she meets her 3kg better so she can’t be underestimated
Won three straight before that and is hard to ignore
Heaven Bound has mixed her form and comes back to the mile after three runs at 1900m at Canterbury
Did fail on a heavy track there when well in the market in November. How to play it: It’s A Wonder WIN
Bartolf was far too good when coming off a two-month break at Newcastle
Debut win was on a heavy track so whatever ground shouldn’t bother him
Codetta won nicely in a handy form race at Canterbury on soft 6 before an even effort at Randwick where she ran into fourth but safely held by those in front
The Years hasn’t raced since April when tackling group 3 company
At this sort of level he’s proven capable and should land on the speed from the inside
Tiger Town has been crying out for a mile after a couple of very nice runs in Midway company at Randwick
Was closing on them nicely beaten just over two lengths by Emmadella last time
a mile on his home track with some sting out is ideal
Ravello has run well in better company than this and gets the chance to improve on his battling effort at Randwick a few weeks ago
Won here first-up and is entitled to be competitive
Aix En Provence looked to be shaping up OK in his first two runs back then had support at Wyong but disappointed after racing on speed. How to play it: Tiger Town WIN
Storm The Ramparts did a very good job when resuming at Randwick on Boxing Day
he jumped too well and couldn’t find a forward spot so had to be dragged back and wide
Rantan was solidly supported when getting the job done over this course a week before Christmas
That was on a good track so she has to do it again on rain affected ground but hard to fault her resolve lately
Outback Miss won her first two starts in Victoria on wet tracks and was competitive in her two runs last time in on good ground. How to play it: Storm The Ramparts WIN
Winston Hills is a promising type who won so impressively when resuming from a long break at Canterbury then had no luck at all as favourite at Randwick
Should find plenty of clean air from his outside barrier and based on his trials a soft track shouldn’t hurt
The Replicant always runs well though doesn’t win out of turn as his 19 placings suggest
Inclined to forgive his second-up effort and he’ll relish a wet track
Sweysive hit the line nicely when resuming at Canterbury a couple of weeks ago and the extra 200m is in his favour. How to play it: Winston Hills WIN

It’s been a stop-start preparation so far for Ciaron Maher’s stakes-winning colt Perspiration
but favourable conditions will see his autumn finally get underway at Warwick Farm today
Perspiration has been scratched from a number of engagements recently due to dry tracks
something he won’t strike in the Buy An Arrowfield Yearling Handicap (1000m)
Leading Australian trainer Ciaron Maher.Credit: Getty Images
said while the three-year-old hasn’t been seen publicly since he beat Gatsby’s in the Heritage Stakes at Rosehill in September
“He’s very ready to go,” Gerard-Dubord said
“We didn’t trial him because the tracks have been too dry
He’s been at Bong Bong so he’s done plenty
he works up in the hill in deep sand every day
He’s as forward as we can have him going into a race.”
Perspiration is nominated for the group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) on day two of The Star Championships
but that’s an unlikely target due to the later-than-planned start to the campaign
Zac Lloyd rides the colt and Gerard-Dubord said he doesn’t face an easy task with 61kg first-up
but a wet track will allow him to produce something like his best
“Obviously 61kg for a three-year-old against older horses isn’t easy but it looks the right starting point,” he said
“He is very well but he will improve on what he does
It’s a starting point but he is sharp and when he does get those wet tracks he has a very good turn of foot.”
Linwood defied a betting drift to win on debut at Warwick Farm back in July on a heavy track and she’ll line up in either the Vinnie – Three Time Champion Sire Handicap (1200m) or head to Wyong on Thursday
Gerard-Dubord said the win at her first outing was a bonus and she appears to have strengthened up with the benefit of some time in the paddock
“It kind of surprised us on the day the way she finished off,” he said
“So we put her away to give her a chance to mature
waiting for the right time of year when the tracks have a bit of give and for the benchmark races post carnival.”
Co-trainer Michael Hawkes was not ruling out a run in the group 1 Inglis Sires (1400m) for exciting colt Nepotism on Saturday at Randwick after his dominant win in the group 3 Baillieu at Rosehill on Tuesday
An unlucky third in the Todman Stakes (1200m) on debut
Nepotism came from a midfield sit to finish over the top of Savvy Hallie in a one and one-third length victory
Hawkes has Federalist in the Sires and said Nepotism could join him if he pulls up well
but we do have the mile [Champagne Stakes] coming up
he’s a group winner now and he’s a valuable colt going forward.“Nepotism is the first group winner for sire Brutal
was the focus for trainer Joe Pride after Ceolwulf hung on in a three-way photo-finish in the group 2 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) as the $1.55 favourite on Tuesday
which is heading to the $5 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) on April 12
was expected to dominate the Sellwood but held on by the slightest of margins from Just Fine and Our Gold Hope
Pride hoped Ceolwulf would trim up with more work after presenting “a little bit big” on Tuesday
“It wasn’t really the result that counted today - it is easy to say that after a race - but it is more about the performance,” Pride said
“He presented like he was going to win by a couple of lengths but he didn’t do that
He had a big weight on testing ground and jumping up 500 metres
I wanted a good hit out for him over 2000 metres

Zac Lloyd rides the colt and Gerard-Dubord said he doesn’t face an easy task with 61kg first-up
“Obviously 61kg for a three-year-old against older horses isn’t easy but it looks the right starting point,” he said
“He is very well but he will improve on what he does
It’s a starting point but he is sharp and when he does get those wet tracks he has a very good turn of foot.”
Linwood defied a betting drift to win on debut at Warwick Farm back in July on a heavy track and she’ll line up in either the Vinnie – Three Time Champion Sire Handicap (1200m) or head to Wyong on Thursday
“It kind of surprised us on the day the way she finished off,” he said
“So we put her away to give her a chance to mature
waiting for the right time of year when the tracks have a bit of give and for the benchmark races post carnival.”
“He’s a proper colt,” Hawkes said
“There’s the Sires this Saturday

“He presented like he was going to win by a couple of lengths but he didn’t do that
and step up to the mile is the right recipe for progressive mare 5
Hasn’t missed a place in three runs this prep from trickier draws just off the speed
and gets back down in the weights at the right time
Racing returns to Warwick Farm on Monday.Credit: Getty
Indigo Star is a lightly raced and natural improver also climbing to the mile
and blinkers replacing winkers is a key gear change
Viktor was only run down in the final strides at Newcastle
and again draws to dictate up front if he backs up in six days
Plenty to like here about promising filly 3
Amelita on the drying surface and from an ideal on-speed draw
Given 19 days by the leading stable since dominating a Super Maiden from barrier to box
Dangers: Talented filly and Waller-trained stablemate 2
Extremely Hardys is the clear threat resuming off two trials
Destroyed her opposition from the front on debut at Canterbury back in early July
and wouldn’t be diving into too short a price drawn wide out
resuming for a third prep off two progressive trials
and has been freshened since a fresh provincial maiden win
while dominant first-up provincial winner 6
Tactical battle over the longer journey here
Has stuck on well to place in his last two
and finished just in front of the top selection here last time
Koning who dropped out after leading in that same race
but gets a softer draw here and some weight relief
Bengal Boy ran home well late first-up on the Kensington track 26 days ago
and can also run into the money rising in distance
This shapes ideally for Victorian-based mare 2
Poppin’ Champagne third-up from a low draw
Has tracked the speed and run home strongly into a place in two runs this prep up to deeper BM 78 level
and is drawn to dictate in what is a race with less depth
Dangers: After finishing a whisker in front of the top selection here 12 days ago
Mountain Top is the logical threat for the leading trainer/jockey combination
Won two straight up to BM 64 level earlier in the prep
although not quite as well served on a firm track
stablemate to the former who won first-up last prep
Noises who has been freshened since winning two straight at Hawkesbury
Apollo Mission can make it three straight wins
staying at the distance and five weeks between runs
Up to city class off consecutive provincial wins when charging home from well back
and he draws to get cover off speed and reloading behind a smart trial win
True To Form is building a very handy record having won two of his last three either side of a freshen-up
doing best late to claim a similar affair here five weeks back
Unwritten finally up in distance deep into the prep
Bonita Queen is set to make it three straight wins at this course
Showed superior tactical speed to bolt in twice as a hot favourite against similar opposition before freshened up via an easy trial win
but with superior cruising speed and acceleration
only needs a half decent run to continue on her merry way
Perennial is a very progressive sprinter who swept home to win a CL3 Highway first-up
and take his record to four wins from seven starts
Again likely to park midfield before hitting the line
Fire Star has been placed three from four this prep in similar company
and drawn to get a soft run behind the speed
The Bopper can pounce first-up at big odds off a long break
Naturally won’t want to get too far back against some slick ones
and love the way he swept through line from well off speed in winning the second of two provincial trials
I Am Unstoppable is well named in this affair
resuming behind two progressive metro trials and having his first run for the Ciaron Maher stable
Hasn’t started since being unplaced in Listed company in early autumn
but twice beat all bar the winner up to Group 2 level at Flemington last spring
Hard to Say who returns from the inside draw also having won the second of two lead-up trials
Renosu is the best of the rest off two trial wins ahead of 5
How to play it: The Bopper each way and quinella 2 & 3
Toughest and likely widest race on the program is saved for last
but there’s terrific value around improving 7
Finished well enough in two metro runs either side of the Victorian border before settling closer here last time and just even to the line
Much better suited in a bigger field where he can settle further back and be produced in the straight off a stronger tempo
Sweysive has missed narrowly in his last three runs
and again drawn to stalk the speed all the way
and gets a significant weight drop for the rise in grade
Hasn’t missed a place in three runs this prep from trickier draws just off the speed
and wouldn’t be diving into too short a price drawn wide out
Poppin’ Champagne third-up from a low draw
How to play it: Poppin’ Champagne to win
Naturally won’t want to get too far back against some slick ones
Hasn’t started since being unplaced in Listed company in early autumn
but there’s terrific value around improving 7
There were some interesting trial results on Monday morning at Hawkesbury and Warwick Farm with Farnan colt North England back in action and while the $1million ATC Golden Gift that he won last year is not recognized as a Black Type race he is giving every indication that he can be a stakes-winner in 2025
With $603,400 in the back already courtesy of his Golden Gift win
North England is the one Waterhouse Bott runner assured of a Golden Slipper start so the stable have the luxury of plotting an easy course to the his grand final at their leisure
He looked in good order at Hawkesbury for this easy trial win under Tim Clark
Cool Aza Beel colt Cobra Club was having his first outing following a second to his stablemate Within the Law in the Inglis Nursery last month and also looked sharp and ready to go
Also in action at Hawkesbury was the Godolphin Bivouac colt Beiwacht
who is on the improve and looks ready to go racing and might be winner number four for his sire
There were a couple of juvenile heats at Warwick Farm and the winners included the half-brother by Pierata to Golden Slipper winner Fireburn
The Gary Portelli trained colt Kilbrannan was having his third trial and produced his best effort to date to score a long neck win
Kilbrannan is the third foal of So You Think mare Mull Over
whose first two foals are Champion 2YO Fireburn and Group II Queensland Guineas winner Kintyre
so there is every reason to be optimistic for this one
Idle Flyer backed up her first-up effort at Kembla Grange with a strong closing finish over 1250m last start at the Kensington
She looks suited stepping up to 1400m and maps to get a similar run again midfield
She is ready for a peak performance third-up into her preparation and looks the one to beat
Metaphorically stuck on gamely last start over 1250m and can make his own luck on speed
Highly Tempted doesn’t have the same depth of form but has a chance in the small field
Spaceballs was very green in her first racing preparation when having no luck on debut behind subsequent Gosford Guineas winner Dance To The Boom at Kembla Grange
She improved at her second start at Hawkesbury but was wayward over the concluding stages running second behind Pinitio which ties her form into the favourite 1
Both of her trials this preparation have been those of a more mature filly and she maps to get a soft run from an inside draw with Tim Clark aboard
Conchiero was competitive in a super maiden at the end of his campaign over 1300m at Warwick Farm behind Shohisha
He has trialled up ok for his return and maps to find the front
Wal’s Me Mate was brave last start over 1250m at the Kensington track and will run his usual honest race again
Sakima resumes first-up for the Peter Snowden yard and brings solid three-year old Stakes form from last preparation into this race
She was able to get some black type when running third in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) which reads well for a race like this
She is drawn to get the run of the race from an inside barrier and the addition of winkers should sharpen her up
Winchester was competitive first-up behind Polyglot over 1100m at Rosehill
He is drawn to take up the running from an inside gate and will be hard to catch
Super Bright will appreciate the drop back to a Bm72 after running well in Saturday company last start
She possesses a good turn of speed and can make her presence felt with the claim
To The Extreme looks poised to run a big race resuming for the Ron Quinton stable after two eye-catching trials this preparation
The four-year old daughter of Extreme Choice was honest last preparation when racing on wet tracks at both Kembla Grange and Canterbury just struggling to finish off her races with big weights
She is drawn to get a nice run midfield for apprentice Madeline Owen and will appreciate the fast tempo up front
Altercation hasn’t had the best of luck this preparation when placed behind Photographics and Alliri
She is drawn for a soft run midfield and can atone here for Zac Wadick
Emilia Jane will both enjoy the anticipated good speed up front and can sprint well here
Akkadian Emperor battled away fairly last start behind Tajanis over 2400m at Rosehill and will appreciate getting back to a firm track where both of his career wins have come
He would have derived benefit from having a start at 2400m and is capable of sharp improvement with 54.5kg on his back
Investment ticked the 2400m box last start when a strong winner at Kembla Grange
This is harder stepping up to midweek grade but she will appreciate getting back to her home track and maps to do no work in the run
O’Ziggy was brave on pace last start at Rosehill Gardens behind stablemate Our Anchorage and gets here on the quick backup
The rise to 2400m is a question mark but the Baker stable is in form and has to be respected
Fulfilled is next best and can improve after pulling up with mild heat stress last start
1.Noble Conqueror will appreciate the drop back to midweek grade after getting too far back last start over 1400m at Randwick
His prior form behind Yorkshire in BM78 grade reads well for a race like this and he gets the services of James McDonald which aids his winning chances
It’s a Knockout was a dominant winner over 1500m at the end of her first racing preparation in Saturday company
She resumes here and her trials indicate she will appreciate 1400m
Expect her to push forward from the wide draw

Warwick Farm trainer Matthew Smith will attempt to keep the stable momentum going with several chances at the Easter Sunday meeting at Nowra
Smith prepared Waltham to finish second in last weekend’s Sydney Cup at big odds and enjoyed success at Albury on Thursday when Dubai Darling scored in a Super Maiden

He has Here Comes Hogan kicking off the day at Nowra in the Archer Memorial Statue Unveiling Benchmark 58 Handicap (1100m)
Smith will then have Millie De Lune in the Terrara House Maiden Handicap (1400m)
and Rare Moon and The Way Ahead in the Hanlons Window Maiden Plate (1000m)
Promising filly Placid Pearl will round out the day for Smith when she runs in the McDonalds Shoalhaven Benchmark 66 Handicap (1400m)
Form jockey Ashley Morgan will partner Here Comes Hogan
while Keagan Latham has been booked to ride The Way Ahead
“It’s a nice team we have heading to Nowra,” Smith said
“Here Comes Hogan is first-up from a spell and he’s had a couple of trials to prepare
He’s shown his share of ability in his 10 starts
Millie De Lune is also resuming from a spell
“She’s also had a couple of trials in readiness for her return to racing and she’s been pleasing us,” Smith said
Rare Moon heads into her event on the back of a last-start eighth at Taree
while The Way Ahead has had only one start
in which she ran third at Newcastle when well in the market
Placid Pearl has had one run back from a spell at Goulburn at the end of February
“She won for the first time over 2200m at Scone last October and we tested in the VRC Oaks
and she wasn’t disgraced behind Treasurethe Moment,” Smith said
“That sort of form looks good for this race on Sunday.”

Racing heads to Warwick Farm on Wednesday for an excellent midweek program of racing
Our best bet comes from the William Haggas stable
English trainer William Haggas conquered Rosehill yesterday with Dubai Honour and he can win another race here with Marama
This mare is much less credentialed but she obviously finds a weaker contest here and Haggas’ numbers Down Under are staggering – 20 winners from eleven runners in Sydney
He can win another one here with this mare
Recommended Price: $3.00Confidence Level: 4.5/5
Arqana was a touch disappointing last time at Flemington but the mare can bounce back here
She just raced a touch flat last time but third up and on to a wet track
Recommended Price: $10Confidence Level: 3/5
Zealously is a class filly up to better races than this
Her last start fourth placing in the Sunlight behind Private Harry and Lady of Camelot stands out but she had won three straight prior to that also
Off the back of a winning trial she should be too strong first up
Recommended Price: $3.00Confidence Level: 4/5

Three heats for juveniles at Warwick Farm on Thursday morning and the winners included an unraced Capitalist colt from interstate that is Magic Millions eligible
Trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young
Derivative is a half-brother by Capitalist to last season’s two time stakes-winning juvenile Bodyguard
and he looked well educated and professional with Tommy Berry in the saddle
He jumped quickly from an outside gate to go forward and lead
albeit one off the fence and when asked to quicken delivered a good response and was then held together to win by a length
A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from Emirates Park for Busuttin Racing
an unraced Fastnet Rock daughter of Golden Slipper winner Mossfun
Quickest heat winner was the Amanda Turner trained Blue Point (IRE) colt Point Score
who showed big improvement off his first quiet trial last month when third to blitz his rivals here
he dominated winning by five lengths in a slick 46.16 seconds
A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft
Point Score is bred to be quick as his dam Hill of Grange is a half-sister to brilliantly fast Group II winner Heatherly
the dam of super fast Group III winning juvenile Red Resistance
Taormina Lodge will offer the yearling half-sister to Point Score from Hill of Grange at Inglis Classic as Lot 293 and she is by Lonhro
Richard and Will Freedman produced the other heat winner in Fullalove
an All Too Hard filly having her first look that did everything right to win by a neck
A homebred for B2B Thoroughbreds that was passed in at Inglis Classic
she is a half-sister to four winners from Gamba
a metro winning half-sister to dual Group I winner Cosmic Endeavour

A strong midweek card at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and its highlighted by a two-year-old contest in the opener
Juvenile trials were at Warwick Farm and Kembla Grange on Monday with a half-brother to Santa Ana Lane showing up
another flyer for Graff and Ciaron Maher gave us the first look at a Snitzel colt
Heat 10 at Warwick Farm saw five time Group I winner Santa Ana Lane’s half-brother
Amalfi Coast having his second trial and first for this campaign having had one back in December
the Waterhouse/Bott trained colt was sent along from the gate by Adam Hyeronimus
settling on pace and went to the line with something in reserve
He was a $500,000 buy for China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock / Trilogy from Vinery Stud at Inglis Easter
Heat 11 at Warwick Farm produced another Ole Kirk youngster showing talent in the gelded Aerodrome
the Michael Freedman trained gelding sat up on pace and kept going t to the line to win narrowly to beat another unraced one in My Bella Vista
The first foal of Group II SAJC Sires Produce winner She Shao Fly (Epaulette)
Aerodrome was a $190,000 buy for Nine9park from Gilgai Farm at Inglis Easter
The runner-up My Bella Vista (2f Hellbent x Jamdani) with Matthew Smith also obviously has oppoptential and has a half-sister by Exceedance entered for the Inglis HTBA Yearling Sale with Davali Thoroughbreds
First season sire Graff has been making a big impression with his first block of runners and the free running Dirtballer scorched to a 5.5 length win at her first public appearance in Heat nine
the filly is the third foal of a daughter of Group II winner and Group I placed Vormista and cost Patriot Bloodstock / Wattle Bloodstock (FBAA) a mere $20,000 from the Alma Vale/Kitchwin Hills Partnership at Inglis Classic
Graff has had five runners to date for two winners including QTIS Jewel winner Grafterburners
as well as two placegetters to be sitting fifth on the First Season Sires table
Heat 10 at Kembla saw Ciaron Maher produce Snitzel colt Agent Zero for the first time
scoring a narrow win over unraced Exceedance filly Gilette
he was a $500,000 buy for his trainer from Segenhoe Stud at Magic Millions Gold Coast

Well-related filly Candlewick’s shot at stakes company will have to wait until later this campaign but co-trainer Tom Charlton says she’s in order for a belated return at Warwick Farm on Wednesday
The half-sister to 2020 TAB Everest winner Classique Legend has won two of her three starts and was initially headed to Day 1 of The Star Championships but her second trial was delayed and her program reshaped

said there are stakes races in her future but for now they’ll settle for hopefully a first-up win in the Hawaii Five Oh @ Vinery Stud Handicap (1200m)
“She was potentially going to kick off in the PJ Bell and we met with a slight setback which meant we missed the second trial at Randwick,” Charlton said
we’ll get through this benchmark race and if she continues to win and run well there are options
“It’s realistic to feel that she could end up in black type races given what we’ve seen so far.”
Candlewick hasn’t raced since an all-the-way win over 1400m on the Kensington track back on December 6
She had her first trial on March 10 over 1045m and Charlton said when she had to miss her second planned trial the only option was to come back to 804m for the second
Regardless he said she’s a versatile three-year-old who can make use of barrier one and should have her chance to pick up where she left off
“I see no reason why she couldn’t be positive and work it out as it unfolds
She’s quite adaptable in her racing pattern,” he said
we felt through all of her racing thus far she is going to improve with time
So there’s no reason why she can’t have a bright preparation ahead.”
Stayer Awesome Wonder and middle distance gelding Jamberoo resume in the TAB Handicap (1600m) and Charlton has expectations in check for the duo’s first-up prospects
who was placed in the Little Dance in the spring
is probably better suited to perform fresh

we’ve found two strong plays on the card that look well-placed to break through
Both gallopers bring progressive form lines and have upside heading deeper into their preparations
Let’s take a look at my tips for today’s meeting
Mick continues to nail his best bets at a good rate

This imported galloper produced a strong Australian debut
making up significant ground to finish third behind Puntin
That runner has since franked the form by running second in town at his next start
Seven’s was taken back from the barrier and spotted the leader 7L at the 600m
He now steps straight to 2100m in a small field
which should suit his racing pattern perfectly
Look for him to be ridden conservatively once again before unleashing a big finish late
He looks progressive and is likely a class above this group
This promising galloper was ultra-impressive on debut
allowed to balance up before hitting the line strongly in a race that didn’t shape well for backmarkers
he produced a big final burst and was excellent through the line
he’s been given a tick-over trial which suggests he’s ready to fire stepping up to 1400m
This extra distance should suit him perfectly
he can win this and continue working through the grades
Both Seven’s and Jacob’s Ladder bring plenty of upside and look like winning chances on the program
