the age of 10, Natalie Snooks was already sticking SOLD stickers on signs. Back then she was the helper to her Mum, Nena Snooks, a successful real estate agent, but little did she know that she would be selling her own houses years down the track. Ms Snooks is now a City Beach Area Specialist having won the REIWA Master Salesperson 2020/2021 award, but her path to real estate was far from straightforward. It was with seven years as a charted accountant under her belt that she first dipped her toes in real estate. “I had a lot of annual leave owing and I decided to go check out what Mum did in her business. Mum painted a dark picture of real estate with all the negatives of the sector.  But I didn’t listen to her and I stayed.” Ms Snooks left her accounting role and went to work with her mum as a real estate agent. They worked together for 20 years. “We had a very good working relationship. And we had a lot of fun along the way.” Although she started her role as a real estate agent later in life, Ms Snooks entered the property market herself at 24. “Growing up I’d heard a lot about properties. So I was always just very interested in the whole thing. I purchased my first property in 1995 when I was 24. I bought a worker’s cottage in Shenton Park at 90% debt and a 10% deposit. I was very fortunate to have got in at a time when all we knew was a rising market.” Three years later Ms Snooks sold that property and went on to buy and sell several properties in City Beach, Wembley Downs and Scarborough. “I always loved getting an old house and just making it really nice. Never spending lots but just tidying things up. And obviously, taking away a nice profit at the end of it,” she explained. Her personal experience in property transactions has equipped Ms Snooks with skills and knowledge that she now uses to help others. “It’s really interesting, as life proceeds people’s needs change and that’s a large reason why someone will need a bigger house or will want a smaller house. I really love helping people with that transition.” “I know selling a house can be quite daunting. When someone wants to sell their home, they often do not know where to start in terms of getting it ready.” Ms Snooks says presentation in a home is of utmost importance. “I definitely like to spend the time getting the property ready rather than just throwing it onto the market because you want to be received at its very, very best.” “I find that quite exciting because you can see quite a transformation just in the way the home is presented.” Ms Snooks has lived in City Beach for most of her life. She attended the local Kapinara Primary School and her kids attended another local school. Being a local has positioned Ms Snooks well to specialise in the area’s real estate. “We eat at the local cafes and restaurants. We love the beach, the walks, the parks. We are so fortunate to be in an area where there’s so much public open space.” “This is home to me and I absolutely love living in the area so it’s very easy to sell that lifestyle to prospective buyers.” She sells properties in City Beach, Floreat, Wembley Downs, Wembley and Churchlands. Ms Snooks says the area particularly attracts young families wanting to shorten their daily commute and live in a place with access to nature. She also sees the mature age buyers looking to downsize. Natalie Snooks says being a real estate agent means being available and putting the job and the clients first. Something that can have an impact on social life. Having a husband who is really understanding has been important to Ms Snooks. “Just recently I had arrived at a restaurant to have dinner just with my husband when I got a text. I could tell this deal was going south and I need to do something right then and there. “So we went home for an hour I could do what I had to do and got the deal done. Then went out again.” In real estate, no two properties are the same and no two clients are the same. Ms Snooks said she enjoys learning about each clients’ individual needs. “There’s no typical day in real estate and that’s what I thoroughly enjoy. You’ve got to put customers first.” Residents have been warned to secure loose items around the house (file photo) (ABC TV) Link copiedShareShare articleThe State Emergency Service says it has received a number of calls from residents in Perth's western suburbs after strong winds and heavy rain swept through the area. The suburbs of Wembley Downs and Woodlands have been hit the hardest, with tiles being lifted from roofs and a large amount of debris scattered through the streets. There has also a report of a patio being blown off one house and landing on top of another. Fire and Emergency Services Authority spokesman Russell Quinn says people should secure loose items around their house. "The warning is to members of the public to be aware of localised storm damage and these straight line winds, in particular take preparations to secure loose objects out there that could potentially become deadly missiles," he said. Disasters, Accidents and Emergency Incidents This is probably not the page you’re looking for LONDON – Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the first major silverware of Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United reign and broke Southampton’s hearts as the Swedish star’s late goal clinched a dramatic 3-2 victory in Sunday’s League Cup final Ibrahimovic was one of Mourinho’s marquee signings in the close-season and he repaid his manager’s faith with a typically dominant display on the big occasion at Wembley Manolo Gabbiadini sparked a thrilling Southampton fightback scoring just before half-time and again early in the second half But Ibrahimovic had the last word as his 87th minute header – his 26th goal of the campaign – ensured Mourinho joined United legend Alex Ferguson and Nottingham Forest great Brian Clough as the only managers to win the League Cup four times It was also the 54-year-old’s 19th major trophy of his glittering career With United trailing well behind Premier League leaders Chelsea Mourinho needed this success to guarantee players fans and the club’s hierarchy remain in his corner "Ibrahimovic won the game for us because he was outstanding," Mourinho said "Our opponents were better than us for long periods of the game and didn’t deserve to lose over 90 minutes In the absence of injured playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan and with Wayne Rooney again on the bench the stage was set for Ibrahimovic to cement his status as United’s talisman and he wasted little time stamping his authority on his first showpiece occasion in England Ibrahimovic’s astute pass set up France midfielder Paul Pogba for a fierce long-range effort that stung the palms of Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster Southampton responded with a dangerous raid that should have brought the opening goal in the 11th minute when Cedric Soares crossed low into the six yard box and Gabbiadini side-footed past David de Gea. only to see his celebrations curtailed by a dubious offside decision United swept forward and in the 19th minute Oriol Romeu made a costly error when he try to halt another attack with a crude lunge on Ander Herrera Romeu was booked but there was worse punishment to come from the free-kick as Ibrahimovic stepped up to smash his dipping shot over the Southampton wall United still looked alarmingly casual and De Gea was forced to save from James Ward-Prowse and Dusan Tadic But Southampton were even more negligent at the back and Mourinho’s men made them pay again in the 38th minute Marcos Rojo was given room to pick out Lingard inside the penalty area and the United forward couldn’t believe this luck as the statuesque Saints’ defence allowed him to guide a low finish past Forster Yet on the stroke of half-time Southampton were back in it as United were caught napping by Ward-Prowse’s cross and Gabbiadini applied the finishing touch with a cool close-range effort With the strangely diffident Pogba offering little protection to United’s defence Southampton exposed United’s defensive flaws again to draw level in the 48th minute When a corner was directed back into the United area Pogba missed a header and Gabbiadini reacted quicker than Chris Smalling to whip his shot past De Gea for his fifth goal in just three appearances since a January move from Napoli Romeu almost won it when he headed against a post from Ward-Prowse’s corner despite a far from convincing display from United it was Ibrahimovic who delivered the knockout blow with extra-time looming ghosting into the six-yard box to meet Herrera’s cross with a bullet header that added more lustre to both United and Mourinho’s trophy cabinets copyright in the content of this website vest in The Free Press of Namibia (Proprietary) Limited (Registration No 85/058) The unauthorized making it opened a decade ago, but will that change against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon Spurs are spending 2017/18 at the national stadium as work on their impressive new ground works towards completion for next season The Reds head to north-west London this weekend searching for a season-building victory, and confidence should be high after Tuesday’s 7-0 win away to Maribor in the Champions League where Didi Hamann scored the final ever goal – for Germany against England in 2000 – was a happy hunting ground for Liverpool The Reds enjoyed many successes there, including two FA Cup finals wins over Everton in the 1980s, and four League Cup triumphs in a row in the same decade Although Liverpool’s last visit before its destruction was the ill-fated 1996 FA Cup final defeat to Man United the Reds have really struggled – only winning one competitive fixture in 90 minutes out of their five attempts this is depressingly the last time Liverpool won a trophy it was not a performance that will long in the memory Kenny Dalglish‘s side should have breezed past a Cardiff City side playing in the Championship Goals from Martin Skrtel and Dirk Kuyt helped take the final to a penalty shootout, and when Steven Gerrard missed his side’s first attempt Charlie Adam’s horrendous spot-kick is likely to still be travelling through the air as Gerrard’s cousin Anthony missed the decisive penalty Andy Carroll may have been a disaster of a signing but he should be bought a beer forever by Liverpool supporters after his late heroics against “The Ev” in 2012 The Reds’ local rivals were confident of winning their FA Cup semi-final clash and Nikica Jelavic’s opener saw a horrid mix-up between Jamie Carragher and Daniel Agger In true Everton style they bottled it outside-of-the-foot equaliser restored parity The stage was set for Carroll to write his name into Liverpool folklore heading home late in the day to score comfortably his biggest goal for the club Anyone putting him in a ‘Worst Ever Reds XI’ needs their head testing After the joy of downing Everton, we were then made to sit through an insipid Reds performance against their 21st century nemesis Chelsea The Londoners were more ruthless on the day and Ramires’ opener highlighted the sharp decline of Pepe Reina who has now decided he wants to be a great goalkeeper again at Napoli Didier Drogba scoring against Liverpool was a given in those days and his clinical effort gave us all that horrible sinking feeling that occurs when a big goal goes in against the Reds Carroll did his best to make himself a hero once more before Petr Cech then made an astonishing save to keep out the striker’s bullet header He would have reached a Dalglish level of status if that had found the net Few performances have left Liverpool fans as enraged as this one and it was a moment you knew Brendan Rodgers’ reign at Anfield was nearing its conclusion The Merseysiders were strong favourites to defeat a very limited Aston Villa outfit, and book a place in the FA Cup final against Arsenal in the process and one that saw Rodgers change the formation approximately 55 times in the 90 minutes Philippe Coutinho actually put the Reds in front but Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph turned the game on its head There was no response from Liverpool, and Dejan Lovren‘s ridiculous last-gasp shot from 35 yards summed up a grim afternoon the balls from his strike and Adam’s penalty will collide in the air Jurgen Klopp became Liverpool manager in October 2015, and within four months of arriving, he had inspired his side to the League Cup final Again, the display was way below-par at the new Wembley, however, and Simon Mignolet‘s attempt to keep out Fernandinho’s opener was almost as bad as Reina three years earlier The Reds never deserved anything from the game This time penalties didn’t go their way, though, with Coutinho, Lucas Leiva and Adam Lallana all failing to convert from the spot and Klopp’s men were left licking their wounds A second-choice goalkeeper having a blinder against Liverpool – surely not so this was a relatively meaningless pre-season friendly but we’re trying to lift the mood ahead of the weekend trip Barcelona turned up to Wembley last August with Lionel Messi and Suarez both in the starting lineup but they were powerless to stop a rampant Reds New signing Sadio Mane struck first, former Liverpool favourite Javier Mascherano fired through his own net and Divock Origi then finished coolly in the second-half Marko Grujic‘s delightful looping header put the icing on the cake in stoppage time and we were left dreaming about a possible title challenge It’s just one competitive win inside 90 minutes at the new Wembley – oh how we miss the Millennium Stadium Gor Edge Out Shabana in Epic Clash at
