César "Chino" Huerta has completed a reported $2.5 million transfer to Anderlecht from Pumas
The Mexico international winger joins the Belgian side on a contract through 2029
Huerta has emerged as one of Mexican soccer's biggest talents since a 2022 move to Pumas from Chivas
The 24-year-old recorded 36 goals and 20 assists in 87 games with the university side
The winger's performances nearly led to a transfer to Liverpool, with Huerta revealing he had his "bags packed" for a move to Merseyside last summer before the deal fell through
the 15-time Mexico international is heading for the Jupiler Pro League
where Anderlecht currently sits in third place midway through the season
"I am very proud to take the step towards Europe at a club as important as Anderlecht," Huerta said in a club release.
"RSCA did everything to bring me here, so I was quickly convinced of my choice and I immediately felt a lot of confidence. What do I hope to bring to the team? Above all, to be able to make the difference high up the pitch, create goalscoring opportunities and be decisive."
Huerta becomes the first Mexican to play for the Belgian power.
Sporting director Olivier Renard added: "César Huerta is an attacking, technical and creative player, who also has a great eye for goal. He is a Mexican international who really wanted to make the leap to Europe. That is now a done deal. And we are very happy that he has chosen RSC Anderlecht."

José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce might have only just squeezed into the Europa League knockout playoff round but it is already on the brink of the round of 16.
Fenerbahce dominated to beat Anderlecht 3-0 on Thursday and take a comprehensive lead to Belgium for the second leg next week.
Two of Mourinho’s former clubs, Porto and Roma, drew 1-1 in Europe’s second-tier competition.
Fenerbahce took the lead in the 11th minute Thursday. Anderlecht failed to clear a corner and the ball was put back to the area where Yusuf Akçiçek nodded it on for Dusan Tadic to head into the net.
Edin Dzeko doubled his team’s advantage shortly before halftime following good work from Filip Kostic down the left flank. Dzeko’s initial shot was blocked by Anderlecht defender Lucas Hey but the veteran forward fired home the rebound.
Youssef En-Nesyri added a third with a powerful header in the 57th minute and Fenerbahce missed several chances to extend its advantage.
Notably, Yusuf Akçiçek’s header was deflected onto the post — it would have been the 19-year-old’s first career goal, after recording his first-ever assist in the first half.
Dutch club AZ Alkmaar also has a healthy advantage to take into next week’s second leg after it beat 10-man Galatasaray 4-1.
Key Roma forward Paulo Dybala limped off in the first half of the match in Portugal with a knee injury.
Dybala had yelled out in agony when his knee felt the full force of Porto midfielder Alan Varela’s boot in the 20th minute but the Argentina World Cup winner had played on for another 15 minutes before admitting defeat.
Roma took the lead with practically the last kick of the first half, with defender Zeki Celik scoring his first goal for the club.
Porto leveled against the run of play in the 67th minute through Francisco Moura’s deflected shot.
Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante was sent off five minutes later following a second booking.
Ajax won 2-0 at Union Saint-Gilloise, with 16-year-old Jorthy Mokio netting his side’s second goal.
Mokio scored in the 71st minute. A corner was cleared but only as far as the Belgium Under-21 international on the edge of the area and he volleyed it in for his first goal for the senior Ajax team.
Mokio, aged 16 years and 350 days, became the youngest player to score in a knockout stage match in the Europa League, UEFA said.
Christian Rasmussen had netted the opener in 59th.
Elsewhere, Real Sociedad won 2-1 at Midtjylland and Ferencvaros beat Viktoria Plzen 1-0. Romanian team FCSB came from behind to win 2-1 at PAOK and a stoppage-time penalty saw Twente beat Bodo/Glimt by the same scoreline.
Sixteen-year-old Michael Noonan netted on his Shamrock Rovers debut to help the Irish team win 1-0 at 10-man Molde.
Noonan scored from close range in the 57th minute. He also forced a red card for Molde defender Valdemar Lund for a last-man foul, three minutes before halftime.
Víkingur Reykjavík became the first-ever Icelandic club to win a European knockout match by upsetting Panathinaikos 2-1. The match was held in Helsinki as no stadium in Iceland met the requirements to host the game.
Armandas Kučys scored twice but also missed a late penalty as Celje drew 2-2 against 10-man APOEL. Real Betis recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Gent and Jagiellonia won 3-1 at TSC.
European newcomer Heidenheim fought back to win 2-1 at Copenhagen, Omonoia and Pafos drew 1-1 in an all-Cypriot matchup.
Borac had a late penalty saved, but scored even later, to beat Olimpija 1-0.
On Sunday 4 May, Club Brugge and RSCA faced off at the King Baudouin Stadium in a top clash for the Belgian Cup final. After two goals from Romeo Vermant and a late strike by Luis Vázquez, the Mauves fell short in the Topper. No tenth Belgian Cup for Besnik Hasi’s men.

Play was suspended just after Fenerbahce had taken a fourth-minute lead
Play was suspended for 15 minutes in the Europa League play-off tie between Anderlecht and Fenerbahce on Thursday because of crowd trouble
Youssef En-Nesyri had given Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce side a fourth-minute lead before the game was stopped, with TNT Sports' coverage of the game reporting, external fighting in the stands.
The players were then taken off the pitch with a message on the screen saying the match was suspended because of "inappropriate behaviour among spectators".
Image source, Getty ImagesImage caption, The message displayed on a screen at the stadium to explain why the game was suspended
When play did resume, Anderlecht equalised in the 19th minute through Luis Vazquez, who then put the Belgians ahead with a fine finish into the bottom corner.
That made it 4-2 to Fenerbahce on aggregate, having led 3-0 from the first leg of the knockout round tie.
But Yusuf Akcicek made sure there was to be no late drama as he nodded in from close range to equalise on the night and restore the visitors' three-goal advantage.
Fenerbahce will face either Rangers or Olympiacos in the last 16, with the draw taking place on Friday at 12:00 GMT.

Fenerbahce were forced off the pitch minutes into the second leg of their Europa League play-off tie against Anderlecht on Thursday
Jose Mourinho's side were 3-0 up after the first leg in Turkey last week - and things got off to the perfect start in the return game as Youssef En-Nesyri scored in the fourth minute
the match was suspended following an incident
It was initially unclear what caused the halt to the game as TNT Sports' live coverage of the clash pointed to a security issue
Both teams headed back to the dressing room
although the fans at Anderlecht's Lotto Park Stadium remained in their seats
News subsequently emerged the match had been suspended after fights broke out in the stands
with a delay of 15 minutes initially announced
Clips circulating on social media showed brawls breaking out in one area of the ground between rival sets of supporters
Both teams headed over to where the trouble was to try and defuse the incident
including former Manchester United star Fred and ex-QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel
but others tried to pull them away from the trouble
Osayi-Samuel went the closest to the chaos and even appeared to urge security staff to intervene
before Milan Skriniar dragged him away from the area
Riot police then rushed into the stands to deal with the trouble
while stewards also did what they could after warnings were displayed on the stadium's big screen urging fans to behave themselves
Referee Sandro Schaerer ordered both sets of players to the centre of the pitch when he made the decision to pause the game and send them back to the dressing room
the players were able to return to action and continue the game
En-Nesyri's goal had come after a disastrous error from Anderlecht defender Lucas Hey as his back pass was intercepted by Edin Dzeko before he teed up the Moroccan striker
Luis Vazquez levelled soon after the restart following another defensive blunder as both Skriniar and Fenerbahce goalkeeper Irfan Egribayat were involved in a mix-up
Osayi-Samuel's attempted intervention in the troubles comes after he bravely fought back at Trabzonspor fans who had invaded the pitch following a clash with Fenerbahce last season.
In the aftermath of a Super Lig game in March - which Fenerbahce won - violent scenes unfolded as Trabzonspor supporters confronted opposing players.
The incident had begun when a lone individual evaded stewards and ran directly towards Fenerbahce's stars in the centre of the pitch where they were celebrating their victory.
As they moved ever closer to the players without being intercepted by security, Osayi-Samuel tried to protect himself.
The 26-year-old could be seen raining down punches on his would-be attacker, as his team-mates and members of staff rushed to his aid.
From that point on the situation evolved even further as scores of fans began to make their way beyond the barricades, rushing directly onto the pitch.
Footage at the time showed another supporter sprinting towards former Chelsea and Crystal Palace star Michy Batshuayi.
Taking action the Belgian forward launched into a spinning heel kick, connecting with the supporter, which caused others to quickly disperse.
The potential for serious harm to have been caused during the incident was made frighteningly clear when images on social media appeared to show a supporter brandishing a weapon during the ugly scenes.
Fenerbahce's players were then shielded by security forces as they tried to get back into the sanctum of the changing rooms.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahce's 3-0 victory against Anderlecht in the first leg came thanks to goals from Dusan Tadic, Dzeko and En Nesyri.
Mourinho's side are enjoying an impressive season, although they languish six points behind arch-rivals Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig despite winning 18 of their 23 league games.
Their squad includes several former Premier League stars such as Tadic, Dzeko, Fred, Caglar Soyuncu, Diego Carlos, Allan Saint-Maximin, Sofyan Amrabat and Cenk Tosun.
They went on to draw 2-2 in Belgium as Mourinho saw his team progress to the last-16 stage of the Europa League by virtue of a 5-2 aggregate victory.
