In a recent episode of his podcast, John Bevere sat down with his son Arden to tackle one of the most pressing questions in eschatology: Will the church go through the wrath of God during the day of the Lord?
“This is the first time publicly I have ever said this—that I believe the church is going to be taken away prior to the seven-year tribulation,” Bevere declared
Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories
The father-son duo dove deep into 2 Peter and 1 Thessalonians
unpacking what Scripture says about the Second Coming
the day of the Lord and the difference between tribulation and wrath
“The day of the Lord is actually the day of His wrath,” Bevere said
going to be during the time of His wrath?”
Bevere emphasized the importance of 1 Thessalonians 1:10: “And to wait for His Son from heaven
Paul writes: “For God did not appoint us to wrath
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
According to Bevere, that’s not something to fear—it’s something to celebrate. “We’re going to meet the Lord in the air,” he said. “Comfort one another with these words
It doesn’t say torment one another with these words.”
He also broke down the Greek word “harpazo,” translated as “caught up” in 1 Thessalonians 4:17
“It means to grab or seize by force with the purpose of removing,” he explained
“This Greek word is found 14 times in the New Testament.”
Bevere noted that the Bible gives us several key signs that point to the Lord’s return
“We started talking about the things that would lead up to the return of Jesus,” he said
He’s going to give them every chance to come back.”
More than pinpointing dates or arguing timelines
Bevere urged believers to focus on readiness

He pointed to 1 John 2:28 as the key: “Abide in Him
we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”
Bevere was clear about one thing: this conversation shouldn’t divide the Church
“If somebody’s listening to us right now and they say
I believe that the saints are going to be taken at the end of the seven-year’—you’re my brother and sister in Christ,” he said
“And there is no way I’m dividing over this with you.”

In the book, Bevere argues that the “very idea of womanhood is under attack right now.”
“We have culture sexualizing what it means to be a woman
the church silencing the voice of its daughters,” Bevere told ChurchLeaders
adding that “women act like men and men act like women
and the enemy is bent on the destruction of what it means to be female.”

Bevere believes the church must offer “a way forward that transcends familiar talking points and drives us to find God-inspired answers.”
She encourages her readers not to “compromise” on womanhood because “our marriages
and futures depend on us to be up to the task
Bevere indicated her belief that the conversation surrounding gender identity isn’t “just a culture issue” but rather a “spiritual attack” on the identity of men and women
She said that she couldn’t remain quiet any longer “because when you attack male and female
you actually are attacking the image of God.”
“The enemy is after what women carry,” Bevere said
“And women are supposed to be the protectors and the carriers of life and the multipliers of life.”

people don’t understand that self-focus is very Luciferian,” she added
we think the people are the problem.”
Bevere dedicates an entire chapter in her new book to spiritual warfare
She believes that Christians can’t be “casual” about it
“It’s time for the elect to return,” Bevere encouraged
“We have partnered with some demonic stuff
We have wrestled with people instead of with principalities and powers and rulers of wickedness in high places.”
In a recent video featuring Live Action founder and president Lila Rose
conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey
and Christian author and speaker Lisa Bevere
the three discussed various ideas about “The Lies Women Face.”
“What do you guys think about the role of women
I know it’s even controversial to talk about ‘the role’
What is different about us as women versus men
Stuckey stated that she had been questioning recently why so many women support “progressive” policies while men seem to be becoming more conservative
I think all of those things go hand in hand.”
despite what society is attempting to promote
“I have little girls and I just see how different they are than my nephews
They could have three blades of grass and they’re like
baby grass.’ They’ll just do that
everything becomes a gun,” Stuckey said
“They’re so different at such a young age
every woman that you see out there who is proudly marching for abortion
proudly saying ‘I’m a girl boss
I don’t need no man,’ — all of those were at one point the little girl who was making little families out of the random objects
But all women were born with this instinct to nurture and to nourish and to beautify and to raise
That’s why we’ve got our dolls
that’s why we want to play house and family —and that doesn’t just go away because the culture changes…”
Stuckey then noted that despite women’s best efforts to leave behind the idea of being wives or mothers
we see that if women do not have these specific roles
they will still often “mother” in other ways
“I’ve started to think about the fact that
It just might not be a human baby,” she said
“Every woman is channeling that nurturing towards something — maybe it’s her career
And maybe it’s a healthy thing for women who haven’t been blessed with children yet
helping take care of children who don’t have parents
And so it can be healthy or unhealthy.”
“But this misplaced mothering — this gap between what women are made to do
biologically or not — and trying to fulfill that instinct with lesser things
I think that’s causing a lot of angst
I think a lot of it has to do with the seared consciences that come from trying to replace our natural instincts with something a lot less.”
“Power union,” not a “power struggle”
“The future is male and female.” When she wore the shirt in her local area
she had received largely positive comments from both men and women
” So I take a picture with it and I just put underneath it “the future is male and female
there is no future… ” And she received backlash from some who said
“You are co-signing with patriarchy; Jesus would never be okay with the oppression of women…” with other comments calling her a “demon of hate
what is behind this?… It’s an anti-family
She then shared that she asked her teenage grandson what his thoughts were on the quote
“The future is female.” He replied
her young grandson was getting that message
“Yet woman was created as the answer to the man not being alone
and we’re supposed to come alongside them and be a power union
and not this power struggle that we’re seeing right now.”
Rose then gave her thoughts on how many in society have seen abuses
and that is why they have adopted the idea that men and women don’t need each other
“There’s some people that I respect where they’re coming from
women have always been subjugated and there have been a lot of abuses of women
and so the patriarchy is bad because when you have the man in control
“And I think what is missed here always in these conversations is
it’s not like a one or the other where it’s like men are fully in control and women are subjugated
or women should be fully in control and then men are subjugated and they’re unnecessary,” she added
“God created Adam and then he created Eve
‘Go and have dominion over the Earth,’ and to be fruitful together
They couldn’t be fruitful on their own; they had to do it together….”
the discussion came to a close on the best way to discuss the hot-button issue of abortion with others
“Being combative is not an answer,” Bevere said
“We need to hear people and then we need to speak the truth
But I do feel like so many people have been inundated with narratives that are lies,” like the idea that an abortion can “un-rape” a rape survivor
or that children will ruin someone’s life
“My children have done nothing but enhance my life
they have given my husband and I legacy and purpose
They have awakened love in me in ways that I could never even imagine…
they’re God’s inheritance…
I have one regret… I wish I could have had more.”

God made humans male and female not to build a divisive wall around their strengths and weaknesses
but to create a powerful union of husband and wife
Both have traits the other doesn’t have
It doesn’t make men and women better or worse… it makes them different
New York Times bestselling author Lisa Bevere is pushing back against the secular culture’s obsession with gender ideology that she says is destroying the God-given image of male and female
On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast
Bevere talks about her book “The Fight for Female
she says feminism to her is teaching women how to be men
she’s empowering women to be women; strong enough to be wives and mothers
and noble enough to see in their male counterparts a co-traveler on a journey of faith

Christian author and speaker Lisa Bevere isn’t dismissing the complexities and difficulties of this current cultural moment
during a recent appearance on CBN’s “Faith vs
Culture,” the “Fight for Female” author said believers should set themselves apart from the disorder of this “Luciferian” age
the opposite force is order,” she said
So how we actually combat something in the Spirit is we fight by flourishing
we renounce any alliance or agreement we’ve had with [chaos]
then we operate in the opposite Spirit.”
if the family is being torn down by culture
we build the family,” Bevere continued
“If the educational system is indoctrination
we go into the educational system and we find out how to improve that.”
The 64-year-old minister warned Christians against withdrawing completely from the mainstream world
There is “danger,” she explained,” in “hiding rather than equipping.” She added
Part of that “equipping” is understanding Scripture and knowing how to apply the Bible to everyday life
Bevere encouraged pastors to speak into the hot-button issues punctuating modern culture
Listen to them on the latest episode of “Quick Start” 👇
“I do think pastors have been pushed into corners
you can’t speak about this,'” she observed
“That’s a lie; Jesus spoke about every single thing and so
you should have a voice in every single area — not be relegated to just Sunday sermons.”
Some of the chaos of the world is creeping into the church
A YouGov survey from late 2022 found the vast majority of Americans (87%) subscribe to at least one belief loosely categorized as a tenet of “new-age spiritualism,” such as karma
or the “law of attraction,” more commonly known as “manifesting.”
Much of that is tied to poor theological framework, as another “Faith vs. Culture” guest, Dr. Peter Bylsma, said earlier this summer
Bevere, author of the new book, “The Fight for Female: Reclaiming Our Divine Identity,” encouraged believers confused by the myriad controversial topics at the forefront of society today to take their uncertainty to God in prayer
“That’s a posture of humility,” she explained
I’ve lost my way; I’ve lost my true north.’ Hitting your knees and saying
I’m going to renew my mind to the Word.'”
“The Word of God renews our mind,” Bevere continued
I’m not going to listen to my feelings.’ … We have an entire generation that has been taken emotional hostage by their feelings and what you focus on is what you give power to
We have a generation who lives on social media
and is losing the momentum of their moment right now.”
The author went on to explain she believes the anxieties plaguing Generation Z are part of a “strategic” spiritual attack carried out by “the enemy.” It is worth noting, according to a survey from the fall of last year
61% of Gen Zers have been medically diagnosed with anxiety conditions
“He wants to distract us from who we are becoming
and it is because this generation is a threat,” Bevere said
urging older generations not to “pile on” with Satan by belittling Gen Z
And I believe God wants to anoint them to prophesy
but they’ve settled with criticizing.”

our lives and everything we have to give Him
He wants to refine us like gold and make us to be more like the image of Christ

I think it’s so fascinating that God is strong
but strong is wrong because we have actually associated strength with the things that would be ungodly: anger
But strength is actually this incredibly beautiful expression of God in our life
and a lot of times women do not understand that being strong is not wrong for them
but you also have permission from God to be strong.
Narrator: Welcome to the Jesus Calling Podcast
Our guests this week have had to discover where their strength lies
and both have concluded it comes from seeking God: writer and speaker Lisa Bevere and former WWE Wrestler Kurt Angle.
Lisa Bevere’s mission is to lift up women no matter where they are and remind them of the God-given strength they have right now, which she talks about in her new book, Strong
But Lisa didn’t always have a heart for women—she feared being wounded by them
the way her mother had unknowingly wounded her as a child
God showed Lisa how He can use our weakness to show His strength
and Lisa went on to mentor thousands of young women in her ministry.
Lisa Bevere: I’m Lisa Bevere
I have such a heart to see women empowered
and to understand they don’t have to take their strength from somebody else—they get their strength from God
“I have such a heart to see women empowered
and to understand they don’t have to take their strength from somebody else—they get their strength from God.” – Lisa Bevere
I had become a Christian at twenty-one years of age
I haven’t had any of this modeled well for me
I’d see this pastor’s wife or that pastor’s wife
Maybe they will think I’m worthy of their attention
I remember my husband tricking me into doing a women’s meeting
I feel like women have this weird language where they don’t say what they mean
I don’t want to be associated with that.”
I’ve asked for you to send me a woman who would love me and pour into me
So I am not going to actually be able to minister to women
there was a reason why I didn’t like women
It wasn’t that I hated being a woman
It was that I felt both wounded and vulnerable as a woman
My mother had not gotten what she needed from her mother
and because she had not gotten what she needed from her mother
I didn’t get what I needed from my mother
and I felt so ill-equipped to actually be a mother to daughters.
I know you wish a woman would have been that answer to you
I’m going to ask you to be that woman for other women—that woman that would have noticed
that woman that would have spoken into your life
I don’t even know what that looks like.”
Everything that you wish another woman would have been to you
“This is what she would look like when she saw me
‘I’m here to come alongside.’ She would speak from her experience
She wouldn’t make her life look perfect
and then she would show me the things that were hard for her
She would be vulnerable and strong.”
And I just remember writing those things out
I want you to pour out of your longing because this is what is going to actually bring healing.”
“Then God said,‘I don’t want a mentoring of pride
because this is what is going to actually bring healing.’” – Lisa Bevere
It was shocking to me to see how desperate young women are for mothers
and it’s still very shocking to me that my number-one demographic is young women
Can you walk alongside us?” And I love that I’m having this chance to revisit it again in my season [as a] grandmother
“I’m watching for you and I want you to be strong.”
I am so excited about my new book, Strong.
So “strong” is actually leaning into a deep work of God in your life
and then letting that deep purpose actually gain expression
When we think in the back of our mind that being a woman is a weakness
then we’re actually buying into the enemy’s lie
and we’re devaluing who God created us to be
“When we think in the back of our mind that being a woman is a weakness
and we’re devaluing who God created us to be.” – Lisa Bevere
Years ago, I wrote a book called Lioness Arising
And I found in a lioness this expression of who women are
God actually compares Himself to a female lion and a mother bear
And so we have this incredible capacity of protection
this is not right.” When you become a mother
there was a protectiveness that was in my life that had never been there before
And I think that we have a generation that has confused some of this incredible nurture to be a weakness
I don’t think that I’ve ever done it perfectly
and I don’t think my husband has ever done it perfectly
and I don’t think my children have done it perfectly
which means when we’ve made mistakes
we were healthy enough to admit it and grow from it.
anger played a destructive role in my life
my parents were divorced and remarried and divorced again
I lost an eye.” I had this incredible resumé on why I could be angry and sin.
Now the Bible is really clear, but we don’t often know how to do this, “Be angry and sin not.” And I thought I don’t know how to do both of those
And what happened was my anger went immediately to rage
I’m going to step back so that we can sit down together.” What I did is I attacked people instead of problems
I attacked character instead of the crisis
I attacked character instead of the crisis.” – Lisa Bevere
But I had a crisis when I had my second child
we will continue to repeat a pattern of rage until it actually becomes too costly
this became too costly because I found myself now a stay-home mom.
my husband comes home after taking the only car we had—so I was trapped—and asking me
“What have you done all day?” And I would look at the house
I can’t say one thing I’ve done
I grabbed my two-year-old son—he might have been three at that time
and I was just about ready to slam him to the wall when I saw something I’d never seen before
My son was not afraid of what I was going to do because I’d never done anything like that
And when I saw the fear of me in my son’s eyes
And I remembered my own fear and terror as a young child
I grew up emotionally and physically abused by my mother
I made myself a promise and it went like this: “I will never treat my children this way.” That was how I had comfort
And then there I was a born-again pastor’s wife
And it utterly and completely broke me.
I’m so sorry I scared you.” And I went downstairs
and I wept like a baby until there was nothing left.
“Because you’re no longer justifying this
I’ll take it out of your life.” See
“We’ve earned the right to be this way because of what’s been done to us.” And there are a whole lot of reasons that people can give on why they’re broken
but I have good news: what Jesus did for you is more powerful than what anybody did to you
And that moment came into a realization for me
and I asked her to forgive me for not forgiving her of a very similar incident
“There are a whole lot of reasons that people can give on why they’re broken
but I have good news: what Jesus did for you is more powerful than what anybody did to you.” – Lisa Bevere
I was of course forgiven when I confessed my sin to God
it’s not like He found out about it when I confessed it
but I was healed when I confessed it to my mother
And then when my husband came home from work
and it gave me accountability to break an unhealthy habit
Friendships have always been a difficult thing for me
and I’ve done it well and I have not done it well in the past
But friendships are too important not to develop.
And so I’ve had to learn what I’m actually looking for in a friendship
and a real friend cares more about the other person than even maybe the maintenance of the relationship
They’re not jealous or envious of you
but they actually want to see you grow into everything that God has on your life and for your life
They’re going to cover when you mess up
but they’re going to confront if there’s a breach in your relationship
”I think it’s important for women to have friendships with women that are older than them
women that are their same age and in the same season
and then women who are younger.” – Lisa Bevere
Probably my most fulfilling female relationships are not with my peers
It’s actually been my connections with the women younger than me
It’s when you actually feel like you have something of value to add to their life.
my next birthday I’ll be sixty—feeling like at my age I have this ability to mark a trail for others to walk on is hugely important
And I think that God is looking to this whole generation and saying
I have things I want to whisper over your soul.” And I love that Jesus Calling models that.
I absolutely love this devotion from Jesus Calling
which is always available to flow into a yielded heart
Do not condemn yourself for your constant need of help
come to Me with your gaping neediness; let the Light of My Love fill you
A yielded heart does not whine or rebel when the going gets rough
It musters the courage to thank Me even during the hard times
Yielding yourself to My will is ultimately an act of trust
because this is the tone that I find that God has always spoken to me in
it isn’t in your weakness that I show myself strong
I’m not going to anoint the areas where you are already strong
‘I don’t need you.’ I want to anoint the areas where you are broken and where you are afraid
where I can show myself strong.”
Too many people think that God has somehow gone mute
You don’t have to walk in the realm of shadow anymore
“Too many people think that God has somehow gone mute
You don’t have to walk in the realm of shadow anymore.” – Lisa Bevere
I never knew that the day would come where I would be able to translate strength for another generation
But that is what Strong is all about: one generation telling the next generation of the faithfulness of God.
Narrator: Lisa’s new book, Strong
Stay tuned to Kurt Angle’s story after a brief message about a beautiful new edition of Jesus Calling that’s a perfect way to celebrate the Easter season
Angle joined the WWE and became one of its most prominent figures
But behind the powerful facade was a man who struggled with addiction
just as his father did—and soon Kurt found out that his own strength would not be enough to stop his life from spiraling—he needed God’s help.
Kurt Angle: I’m Kurt Angle—1996 Olympic gold medalist
six-time WWE world heavyweight champion and thirteen-time world champion.
It was the thing that we talked about at the dinner table
And if you weren’t a great athlete in the Angle family
So it was the one thing that I clung to when I was a very little kid
but I wasn’t very good at it and I didn’t like it
and they competed in high school and went to college and they did fairly well
I didn’t feel the pressure as much as when you’re the only individual out there and everybody’s eyes are on you
basketball because I knew that it didn’t rely solely on me.
It was very difficult for me to accept at the time
but what happened was I continued to watch them and I would study what they did and I would mimic them and I would copy them
something eventually good would happen.
he didn’t want you to fail out of school
[but] I would say education was second to sports.
But he did have a problem—he was an alcoholic
The great thing about my dad was he never missed a sporting event
He would go straight from work to whatever event we had
I didn’t really get to spend a lot of time with him
my father in every aspect.” – Kurt Angle
When I say I copied my dad in every aspect
My father had a relationship with Jesus Christ
so when I do this little thing on the side
And I’ll stay true to You every step of the way.”
I had this love affair on the side with alcohol and drugs
I’m going to go to my drinking and my drugs and I’ll get back to You in a few hours.”
“I had this love affair on the side with alcohol and drugs
I’m going to go to my drinking and my drugs and I’ll get back to You in a few hours.’” – Kurt Angle
but I knew that I would sacrifice anything to be out there and compete
So the first thing I had to do was—when you have a broken neck
you have disks in your neck sticking into your vertebrae
it’s hard to get a doctor to clear you for wrestling
So I had to convince a doctor to clear me with my vertebrae being broken and my discs being stuck into my spinal cord.
and that doctor gave me a healing agent that probably did a limited amount of things
he would stick me with ten or twelve different shots of novocaine in my neck
so it wasn’t that difficult to overcome.
And I never looked at it from a long-term standpoint
And I knew if I didn’t compete in the Olympics in ‘96
whether I became a paraplegic or not.
So I knew that I had to be ten times better
A lot of people wanted me to continue to wrestle
I was going to get a big shoe deal with Nike if I continued
I just put way too much pressure on myself
so I had to keep doubling and keep taking it
and I got to the point where I took 65 extra-strength Vicodin in a day.
Even though I was probably high half the time
The alcohol didn’t come in until I got over the painkillers and I wanted that high feeling again
because I didn’t want to go through the withdrawal and everything that occurs with taking painkillers
I started mixing different drugs and trying to get my high feeling after I got done with work every day
So it was something that I had to do that I remember my dad was doing when I was growing up
It wasn’t until 2013 that I decided to get clean
and that’s because my wife was going to leave me
I just want to live a life without drugs or alcohol
And I’m not happy because you’re not here.”
I didn’t really realize that until I got into rehab
and I learned about how it can affect other people
And so going to rehab was the first step.
and I was taking morphine and Xanax and muscle relaxers
I thought I was just going into rehab for alcohol
and I thought I could hide the other stuff
“You can’t bring that in here with you.”
I don’t want to come out of here and go back to where I was
I want to move forward.” And I prayed every day
And I continued to pray because it’s not easy staying clean
But I’ve been clean and sober for almost six years now
So my life has changed dramatically because of my relationship with Jesus Christ
I want to move forward.’” – Kurt Angle
The only people I knew were Bruno San Martino because he’s from Pittsburgh
They were just bigger-than-life characters that everybody knew about
So it was a very sobering year for me when I signed because I had to educate myself on what was going on and learn about the best wrestlers of that era
I’d wrestle against them for world titles and beat them both for the world championship
The problem is you wrestle probably 300 days a year
You’re in a different city every day
then travel five hours to the next city and then sleep for six hours and get up and do the same thing
And you just keep doing it over and over and over
it’s crazy because I want to be a person that my kids look up to
“I’m always changing and always asking
Where do I go from here and how do I make it?’ And
a lot of it is prayer and my relationship with Jesus
‘Where do I go?’ I listen to Him quite a bit.” – Kurt Angle
I can’t believe I didn’t listen all these years
It took me until [I was] in my forties to listen and understand
and it helps me deal with my life and what I need to do to make my life better.

THE LIONESS ARISESIn 1994 Lisa was pregnant with her fourth child
One night she had a dream about a lioness on a platform etched with the Roman numeral 23
you will awaken a lioness.” Lisa had no idea what this dream was about so she pulled out her Bible and looked up Numbers 23
It spoke of the faithfulness of God and His irreversible blessings
Lisa began to step out of her day to day activities as a mother and wife of a well-known minister
which launched her into a successful ministry of her own
Lisa was at a women’s conference in New Zealand and the Lord gave her a vision of the lioness again
This time she felt compelled to study the ways of the lioness
AN ARMY OF SHEEP LED BY A LION After years of research
Lisa felt this vision was not meant for her alone
the lioness makes me proud to be a female," says Lisa
There are several reasons why this animal reveals strength and courage in women
to confront enemies that threaten the pride
This analogy of a lioness gives the image of a godly woman
Lisa says there is the time for a strong woman since there is an enormous amount of global wickedness and injustice
“It is up to the daughters to prepare to pounce,” says Lisa
Lisa became aware of sex trafficking in 2007 when she partnered with Life Outreach
Her heart broke over the magnitude of social injustice
“Many of us are unaware of what goes on in the world
the enemy can cause us to forget who we are...destined for triumph
victory and signs and wonders." It is important
While working with a personal trainer in 2008
Lisa discovered her body fat percentage was high
Lisa says her trainer said she was “skinny fat.” Lisa didn't need to lose weight; she needed to gain strength
She says we need to raise the level of our passion
"We are an army whose prayers ascend from earth to heaven as a mighty roar
It is an alliance of all who are willing to fight against human trafficking
Pearl Alliance connects individuals in supporting onsite organizations in Southeast Asia
Thousands of women and children have been exploited and it is the organization’s mission to rescue and restore
Lisa Bevere had a prophetic dream warning she believes is critical for us right now. It was about the spiritual battle between women and dragons.
“I found myself in a dream where I was walking into a room of women
They were all different women of all different ages
And in my dream I felt like I knew these women
but I don’t remember any of them individually,” Bevere says
Bevere reveals in this dream she knew something was off when she entered the room full of women
“All of the women were holding something close to their chest
kind of like hiding it,” she explains
And as I got closer I realized that all of the women were holding different jewel-toned baby dragons.”

Bevere admits that this sounds completely wild
but the detail of the dragons had an even greater depth to it
“These baby dragons were dressed in children’s clothing
They were sapphire and ruby red and emerald green and bright yellow
Why would women be holding in a protective way
Bevere went to each woman and asked if they realized they were holding a dragon
She says these women would bring comeback statements
as though she couldn’t understand the importance of these dragons to them
“They would counter me and say, ‘These are different dragons. These are the wise, kind dragons.’ But I knew there was no agreement between daughters and dragons,” says Bevere
Bevere rose up in anger as the women wanted her to pet their dragons
but she knew this would’ve been a grave mistake
I began to realize that these rainbow-colored
jewel-toned dragons dressed in children’s clothing actually represent an attack and an alignment between the enemy of our souls and God’s daughters
the dragons had tricked the women into thinking that they were allies when they are eternal enemies
I decided I need[ed] to do a deep dive into what I saw
And I want you to know that dragons are very

and he went to wage war with the remnant of her offspring

There are many warnings God gives His children in the written Word
but are there some that are more important than others
In a recent episode of “The John Bevere Podcast” with his son Arden, Christian author, speaker and co-founder of Messenger International, John Bevere addresses what he says is Jesus’ most important warning to the church, and it has specifically to do with the end times
So what is the warning that should be taken seriously by all Christians
As the disciples beseech Jesus to tell them of the signs before His return in Matthew 24
and who to be wary of during the end times
Jesus says four times that we are not to be deceived
“You’ve heard me probably say it before
‘there’s only one problem with deception…it’s deceiving,” Bevere says
The person that’s deceived believes with all their heart they’re right
Order John Bevere’s “The Bait of Satan” on Amazon.com!
Bringing this deception is one of the greatest threats facing those in need of salvation: false teachers.
“Jesus is not the only one that warns about false teachers,” Bevere explains
“Every writer in the New Testament…except James
but he doesn’t warn about false teachers
Every single writer…every one of them
There are false teachers in the world today
and it is imperative that Christians are able to identify them
this must be done without turning into a “watchdog” or somebody who gets tunnel vision and only looks out for false teachers
These individuals have become known as “heresy hunters” who often fail to grow the kingdom in their search for their next clickbait video

Discipleship is the key to not becoming a watchdog according to Bevere
if I train you how to recognize a counterfeit $100 bill
do I need to be next to you when that fake $100 bill comes into your hand?” Bevere asks
it taught you how to recognize it for yourself.”
there are three categories in which teachers are placed:
Bevere has seen leaders fall over the years
Leaders that were at one point on the right path
but all fell and left the ministry when they demonstrated their inability to be taught and corrected in their behaviors
This highlights the necessity for not just leaders but all Christians to develop a humble heart
but gives grace to the humble,” (James 4:6)

In a recent episode of The John Bevere Podcast, author and teacher John Bevere shared how understanding the ancient Jewish wedding reveals powerful insights into the return of Jesus Christ
“A wedding imagery is often used to describe the relationship of Jesus and the church,” Bevere said
He explained that many phrases spoken by Jesus and the apostles—like “no one knows the day or the hour”—come directly from ancient wedding customs that are largely lost on modern Western culture
Bevere walked through how the bride and groom in ancient Israel would be separated after the engagement
with the groom preparing a place at his father’s house
they would not drink a glass together again
nor would they see each other again,” Bevere said
“Only the father of the groom knows” when the groom would return
a direct parallel to Jesus’ own words about His return
This moment would come with loud shouts and trumpet blasts
echoing the rapture described in 1 Thessalonians: “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout.”
The imagery doesn’t just teach us about timing, it also calls the church to action.
He reminded listeners that Jesus is returning for a pure

Lisa Bevere wrote this on her Instagram recently: “GENDER is NOT the PROBLEM in LEADERSHIP; our challenge is a posture of PRIDE and a tendency toward PREJUDICE and judging others
These will BLIND SOMEONE who is otherwise a good leader
and VIRTUE are just SOME of the qualities that QUALIFY LEADERS
so gender alone can’t DISQUALIFY one.”
Then she further clarified it with this one: “For the record
but I do often speak on Sunday mornings as a mother in the House of God
and ministering does not equal exercising authority over anyone; it is giving witness to what God is done
It’s sad that anyone one would imagine that I think that being a leader usurps our marriage roles
John and I have been married 37 years and raised a family together.”
Her husband responded to this by writing: “Such a great post @lisabevere
You have led well our team and countless others for so many years
You’ve been faithful to God’s Word and His Spirit
When I look at the Evangelist Philip in the book of Acts
he had four daughters who proclaim God’s word
I’m so glad that he understood that they could be leaders in speaking the Word of God even though they were female
He understood that God Almighty communicated through the prophet Joel in the last days both men and women would proclaim God’s Word
gender should not be the basis of whether or not someone should lead or not lead
I pray that it’s obvious to most of you
God has made it very clear that it’s men who are to be in leadership positions in the churches
God ordained men to be in all leadership positions all throughout the Bible with the exception of Deborah
We are clearly told how the New Covenant churches are to be run
Elders and Deacons (the leaders and teachers in the churches) are to be men
Women are also forbidden from teaching men in the churches
Women are nowhere called to preach on any Sunday as “a mother in the House of God” as Lisa does
It seems most female preachers want to leave out these verses: “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law
let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church” (1 Corinthians 14:34
35) and “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection
but to be in silence” (1 Timothy 2:11
Concerning what Lisa’s husband said about the Evangelist Philip and his four daughters
this is what Gill’s Exposition of the Bible had to say about it: “which did prophesy (Acts 21:9); not explain and interpret Scripture
or preach in public assemblies; for these were not allowed women
nor in Christian assemblies; but they were endowed with a gift of foretelling future events
as was promised such should have in Gospel times.” Women
it’s a dangerous but common practice to try to defend your choices by finding examples in the Bible while ignoring God’s clear commands to us in the Church Age
Wives are to submit to and obey their husbands
since God made the husband the head over the wife
God has called men to be the leaders all throughout His Word
gender does matter greatly to God when it comes to leading
even if it’s not the one she wants to be heard— gender alone does not qualify a MAN to be a leader in the church
gender does indeed disqualify a woman from being a leader in the church
Just because you don’t agree with the Bible
I also find it telling that she posts this
“and ministering does not equal exercising authority over anyone”
You have *LED* well our team and countless others for so many years
That kind of sums it up that she is indeed usurping authority as even her husband says she led their team
Male headship was established before the Fall
Equal in the eyes of God but there is a hierarchy on earth
Women are not to lead in the church and at home that is so clear
It just saddens me to hear stuff like this
People twisting scripture and just living for themselves
this is just yet another excuse to deny the fundamental differences between men and women…
I recall seeing Lisa speak at a church once
her husband is in the wrong for backing up her comment and failing to correct her {cf
So sad to see men toeing the feminist line
she does not help the feminist’s cause
for Israel was in a national state of shame during the time of the judges
Deborah is an indictment on men’s abdication of their God-given headship
While God can use anyone in any way He chooses
We’re in a time today where women seek out leadership and authority over men
many of the men allow women to steamroller over them and have their way
This is no cause to celebrate female achievement
but rather to repent toward the Lord and begin following His order and His ways
Is it a big deal to not lead for a few decades knowing that a wonderful eternity is ahead of you
I think your title is misleading compared to the actual article
They lead large families while their husband is at work: coordinating schedules
Many women work for their husbands or fathers in family businesses and are in charge of certain departments or areas of business
When girls are gathered with friends as children
they lead games (both imaginary and physical)
No one doubt’s women’s capacity to lead — it is just that in certain areas God asks them not to (church
There are amazing qualities of leadership and organisation needed to run a home and bring up children as any grateful husband will acknowledge
But God made us to be part of and within a family unit under the protection and authority of our husband
To to use those skills as a homemaker and mother
This is something that confuses me a lot because at my church there many times in which a woman will be the one to give the sermon
her name is Allie Beth Stuckey and she is a Christian and conservative political activist
A lot of her videos are about explaining and teaching about the Bible
What about a mother teaching the Bible to her son
Can a women only teach to other women about biblical womanhood
or can they teach the Bible in its entirety to other woman
I’m genuinely confused and would like some clarification on this
Older women are to teach the young women biblical womanhood
There is not biblical justification for women preachers in the churches
Allie can speak about political things and things pertaining to women but she should not be teaching the Bible since this ministry has been given to men

international speaker and author Lisa Bevere is passing on what she’s learnt about raising boys
There are many surprising things about Lisa Bevere
One is that she didn’t ever want daughters
Because she now majors on women’s ministry—travelling the world with messages of Godly feminine empowerment
and writing books with titles like Fight Like a Girl
Yet there was a time when she genuinely only wanted boys
and it seems God answered her prayer; she had only sons – and four of them
Now that they are grown men and having children of their own
Lisa is keen to pass on what she’s learnt about raising sons to be men of God
In a chat with Hope 103.2’s Laura and Duncan
A big part of the raising-sons equation was the way Lisa and her husband John have conducted their marriage
and to make amends quickly whenever there was conflict
“They don’t really do what we say
they do what we model,” Lisa said of raising sons. “I’m not going to pretend John and I have done marriage perfectly
but we’ve done it well – which means
Mum and Dad just had a fight in front of you
where Mum was ridiculous and Dad was dominating
Done.’ They loved the fact that John and I were quick repenters in front of them when we messed up.”
Integrity and consistency have also been very important to Lisa and John’s sons
something that’s vital for anyone working in a very public ministry
“I just did a podcast with my boys and I asked them
‘What did we do right?’ They said
You didn’t act one way in the pulpit [while preaching] and another way at home,” Lisa said
Dads have a powerful role in teaching their children about love and respect towards women
Lisa encourages men to be a good role model
you have an amazing opportunity to model for daughters how they should be treated
and the way you treat your daughter,” she said
“And your son is going to watch that.”
While that’s not such helpful advice for single mums
who may struggle to find good male role models for their kids
the good news is that mums can model respectful attitudes towards women too
“You are going to treat women with respect and nobility.”
“My sons learned to love well because I ‘threatened’ them,” Lisa joked
I am raising you as princes of the most high God
You are going to treat women with respect and nobility.’
“I limited the kind of things that would come into our house that would dishonour males or females.”

the international women's author and preacher
She’s the author of books with titles like, Girls with Swords, Fight Like a Girl, and Lioness Arising. So it’s surprising and kind of funny to learn that Lisa Bevere, international women’s preacher and writer, didn’t want daughters as a young woman
she was so adamant about not raising girls
that she asked God to only give her sons. While it seems an unusual attitude for a female preacher, it came from her tendency at the time to feel more comfortable around men than women
“I actually always wanted to have all boys,” Lisa said
in a chat with Hope 103.2’s Laura and Duncan
‘I’m a woman but I’m not like ‘those’ women
I’m like a man’s brain in a woman’s body!’ And he’d say
‘I’m actually not comfortable with that’.”
While Lisa did get the sons she wanted in abundance (she had four)
she also asked God to show her what was behind her dislike for females
what is it about me that I don’t like women?’ And God said
‘What you don’t like about women is what I actually never fashioned women to be.’”
It was a challenging thought that sent Lisa on a journey to become the kind of woman she felt the world needed
And in fact one who would preach and teach and encourage other women the world over
But it took some time and work to get there
and I feel like that’s a joke,” Lisa laughed
“I’d say [to God] ‘You put me in a man’s world
and you’re asking me to minister to women
I don’t know how.’ God would say ‘Actually you do’
and I would say ‘No I don’t!’”
begin to write down what you wish another woman would have been to you
and as you were trying to navigate being a woman in a church that sometimes makes you feel like it would be better if you were a man
“You be that woman that you wish you’d had.’”
Lisa explains how she set about writing down all the qualities of the ideal woman: “what she would look like
And then she set her heart towards being that woman herself
“And that’s always been my goal,” Lisa said
“To be this woman that God created me to be
Lisa does quite like women these days
travelling the world to speak at large women’s conferences

best-selling Christian author John Bevere revealed how he was bound to pornography even after he became a Christian
said his porn obsession began around 11 or 12 years of age
Bevere told the audience he married the most beautiful woman on earth and he thought
"Then I went into the ministry and I'm working for one of the largest
fastest growing churches in America and it's getting worse."
Bevere revealed how he was in charge of the guest speakers at the church and one day
he was sent to pick up a guy by the name of Lester Sumrall
He said he opened up to Sumrall while they were sitting alone in the church van
So Sumrall laid his hands on Bevere and prayed for him
I'm on a four-day fast and at the end of that four-day fast on May 6
I got completely delivered from pornography," he recalled
Bevere says he had a lot of questions about why Sumrall's prayer didn't help him
He said the Holy Spirit showed him his life up to that point
I was scared that I was going to be judged for that sin," Bevere said
cost me my marriage..cost me the ministry."
He asked God what he should be praying for
Bevere said he then stopped praying to win nations for Jesus and instead prayed "God
When he was just months away from the end of his career as a Kent firefighter
Paul Bevere had an experience with a middle-aged Kent man having a heart attack that really brought home the purpose of his job
More: How a kayaker and Kent first responders saved a toddler from fast-moving Cuyahoga River
me and two other guys were on a gentleman with chest pain and he arrested right in front of us," Bevere recalled
He's come to the fire station multiple times to come and thank us
"He has a wife and kids and he's still doing good."
More: A second career: Retired Paris Township man, 71, becomes firefighter, EMT and more
Bevere retired April 2 after more than 30 years with the fire department and as a founding member of the Portage County Water Rescue Team
"Kent's the only fire department that I've been on," he said
His journey to his career actually began more than 40 years ago
'One thing led to another'In the late 1970s
Bevere was a student at the University of Akron when he decided to take a summer job as a lifeguard
Training for the job included a water safety instructor class
"The gentleman teaching that was a Coventry fireman and just started talking and everything and one thing led to another," said Bevere
Bevere was also required to train in scuba diving
a skill that would come in especially handy later
Bevere was certified as an emergency medical technician in 1982 and as a paramedic in 1985 and during this time
was working for a private ambulance service
he took a job in the burn unit at Akron Children's Hospital
"I do tubs and dressings at the burn center
Bevere started working at the Kent Fire Department on Jan
Bevere immediately started with a literal trial by fire
we had in the middle of the night a big barn fire in Franklin Township," he said
A couple of other memorable fires included "a good sized industrial fire" in Ravenna's Riddle Block in the 1990s to which Kent provided mutual aid to and at the former Star of the West mill complex in downtown Kent just this past December
During his time with the Kent Fire Department
Bevere served on the Portage County Urban Search and Rescue Team
which is called out for structural collapses and other "confined space stuff," as well as area searches for missing persons and assistance with water rescue team and Portage County Hazardous Materials Team operations
Bevere has also helped bring new life into the world
"It's stressful because you want everything
You're just there assisting and making sure
And throughout his time with the fire department
the Kent Fire Department had its own dive team
but it became clear by 2001 that something had to change
"We were getting called to other areas of the county and it was just Kent couldn't do it all," he said
The department contacted other fire departments around the county and that year
the Portage County Water Rescue Team was formed
with the team now made up of members from fire departments countywide
Bevere was a founding member and he remained active until his retirement
the river rescues in Kent and so we would go up," he said
"When people go down the river in kayaks and the river's really flowing
I was the family liaison for the dive teams
So you would be the one that would be talking to the family as the divers are going down looking for their loved ones
You'd be the one that would be talking to them and trying to give them information and calm them down and I've done that."
He recalled one time when another diver pulled someone out of the water who appeared deceased but was able to revive the person
Bevere said the difference between a rescue and the recovery of a body often depends on the victim
it depends on if there's been drinking involved
depends on how long they've been under the water
there is still a point to recovering the victim
A busy retirementBecause he is no longer affiliated with a Portage County fire department
Bevere is no longer able to serve on the water rescue team
He said he has considered taking a part-time job with a fire department
which would allow him to return to the team
Beside his job with Akron Children's Hospital
riding his motorcycle and just spending time with family
He also looks forward to traveling with his wife
"The city of Kent treated me very well," said Bevere
"The fire department was a great place to work
You spend at least a 30-year life with them
And I worked at the fire department more than half of my life
they would help me in a heartbeat and vice versa."

Internationally renowned author and speaker Lisa Bevere has a photograph of her granddaughter as she runs through the Colorado snow

that she is gullible and that she is easily deceived," said Bevere
"Even though she may be all of those in that moment

preaching at Trinity Fellowship Church about her personal testimony of faith
Christian identity and even dabbling in a discussion on gender
Bevere has written a number of best-selling books
including "Girls with Swords: How to Carry Your Cross Like a Hero" and "Lioness Arising: Wake Up and Change Your World." Now
she is set to release her next book one month from today
"Without Rival" - an in-depth look into the identity crisis she sees among Christian women
The Amarillo Globe-News asked Bevere to share some pre-release details about the book and her spiritual journey to write it
¦ Amarillo Globe-News: "Who is "Without Rival" written for?"
Lisa Bevere: I would describe this book for any woman who finds herself in this age of comparison
feeling overwhelmed and untethered to a purpose
¦ AGN: "With the popularity of self-help and identity books
what makes "Without Rival" unlike the rest?"
… So as you would look at ["Without Rival"]
the first section is an identity without rival
a God without rival and a promise without rival
I really believe most people do not understand that it is in struggling that you find out who you are
they run from the very prophet of what will identify them and give them the name they actually really long for
he'd been named but he had not been identified
So if we as people can find this place where we have time to wrestle with God and we are not dominated by distractions and divisions and diminishing who we are and the destruction that's on the face of the earth and we can pause
ponder and lift our eyes and listen then God will begin to whisper names to us
¦ AGN: "Did you have any perceptions of the theme of identity that maybe changed while you were writing the book?"
Bevere: I actually had a change in perception with the impetus for why I wrote the book
I had always thought that God loved us all the same
I love my children uniquely,' it hit me at such a deep
'Wait a minute,' and that's when I popped up
read the definition of 'unique' and I knew it was
'prototype; sole representative of,' but I did not know that there was
'without rival,' that God loves us without rival
"Gender Without Rival." If gender is part of the discussion
why write this book specifically for women?"
Here's what I have learned: Women read books written by men and by women
The men do not read books written by women
just (Wednesday) I was at the (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) up in Seattle
They invited us in - like 20 faith leaders - and they were asking us questions and I believe there were six women and 14 men and finally at one point
We are talking about maternal health for African women
we're talking about that we want to give them the empowerment
but we cannot even use that word in the faith-based communities.'
If that is the stigma attached to empowering girls in the United States
If I do not address these stereotypical mindsets
that are rolling around maybe even an undercurrent in their life
women can't have boldness because that looks like they're angry
women can do this and women can't do that,' these constant undercurrents
they're going to allow it reduce them and then they're going to model it for their daughters and their granddaughters
how do you challenge yourself to live without rival alongside so many other authors
I guess I've never even seen the men as rivals
Men and women have very unique entrustments and very different delivery
The greater challenge was more the comparison and contrast because it does feel like when you're a woman and it's a smaller arena
then there is a temptation to compare and contrast and classify
but when we do that we are mired down to diminishing ourselves
I've spoken to the crowds of 20,000 and I realize that's not my identity
is who you are alone in the presence of God
is when you're gathered around the table with your family and there's laughter and the people actually want to be together
is when somebody writes you a note and tells you that they read your book and it changed something in their life and it opened up something and it gave them permission to be something that they'd only dreamed they could be
I've just had enough time to really understand what is valuable and some of that only comes with age
¦ AGN: "As a woman who once lived in Texas
what is a specific rival you have seen affect Texan women and what would you say to them?"
Bevere: A lot of Texas women are very appearance driven
I'm not saying that I don't want to look good
where a lot of us consider sunglasses to be makeup
I don't think they get to get away with that very much
at least in the bigger cities … I love the grittiness of Texas and I think sometimes the women undersell themselves
I think they're a lot stronger than their looks
You're more than what you look like and it's time we all see that pioneering spirit that's in you
Bevere: We are coming into days where our faith may very well be tested and we may find ourselves at risk for what we believe
the reality of our day and the reality of us and I think it's time that those that are in the church
stop making it about religion and start allowing God to take them firmly by the hand and lead them into a radical life change
Every second 28,258 users are watching pornography on the Internet
Forty million Americans regularly visit porn sites
Thirty-five percent of all Internet downloads are related to pornography
Every 39 minutes a new pornography video is being created in the United States
About 200,000 Americans are “porn addicts.”
Many of those addicts are Christians
Christian author and speaker John Bevere used to be in that group
he shares his struggle with pornography that began when he was 11 years old
He described himself as a “frat boy” before coming to know Christ
with many of the habits you would expect in an unbeliever
He drank too much and he watched pornography
After receiving Christ his taste for alcohol left immediately
Then he got married to a woman who he described as “the most beautiful woman he’d ever known.” He thought this would end his struggles
A few years later Bevere entered the ministry
And his preoccupation with pornography came with him
he confessed his addiction to the late pastor Lester Summrall
Bevere worried that he would lose his wife and his ministry because of porn
“like any good father.” He prayed over Bevere and laid hands on him
“You know what happened?” Bevere asked the audience
Nine months later Bevere went on a fast and the urge to view pornography left him
For the next year or two a question kept nagging away at Bevere
“why wasn’t he freed when Summrall prayed for him?” Why did it take another nine months for him to get victory over his addiction
Bevere said he’s always had a vibrant prayer life
He prayed to cast out demons and to win multitudes to Christ
But the Lord told him his prayers were off target
heal the sick and win multitudes and still go to Hell
“I started quaking when he said that to me,” Bevere admitted
It was then that he realized that when he confessed to Sumrall he was scared he’d be judged
He thought pornography would cost him his marriage and his ministry
he was no longer worried about how the consequences could hurt him
he was broken knowing that his sin had hurt God
“Earthly sorrow says what’s going to happen to me

She cohosts the "Conversations with John & Lisa Bevere" podcast with her husband
| Courtesy of Lisa BevereLisa Bevere doesn’t mince words when sharing that before she came to Christ
“I did not have any righteousness that I could bring to God,” Bevere told The Christian Post
“And there's a lot of people that live great lives and then they become a Christian
the 62-year-old mother and grandmother is a globally-recognized ministry leader — she and her husband
lead Messenger International — a sought-after speaker and bestselling Christian author
the reason for this dramatic shift is simple yet profound: She experienced the radical
“I experienced this love that consumed everything that was trying to unmake me,” she reflected
and then wanting to surrender my life to do work for Him
And it had come to the place that He had to say to me
who you are to me is more important than anything you will do for me.’ He said
she feels God speaking to her as a daughter: “He never says ‘wife of John Bevere;’ He never says ‘mother of four sons,’ He never says ‘grandmother of almost six,’ He never says ‘author
speaker.’ He says ‘daughter.’ And that relational connection is so important
Too many people get so busy doing things for God
The Psalmist David, Bevere said, had a revelation and deep understanding of God’s love, as demonstrated in Psalm 139
“He said that God's love was basically innumerable
‘How precious are your thoughts towards me?’ That’s God looks at each and every one of us
they would outnumber the sands on this the sea shores.’ And then He said
‘And when I wake you are still there with me.’”
Bevere began noticing that far too many professing Christians don’t have a full awareness of God’s love for them; reacting out of anger instead of love
extending judgment instead of compassion and concentrating on their smallness instead of God’s magnitude
“We do not live in a day of pause and ponder
We do not live in a day where we actually just recognize God's love for us in everything that we see,” Bevere said
It was the belief that God’s love isn’t passive; it’s entirely present and pursuing, and a desire to share that belief with the world that compelled Bevere to write the 90-day devotional Fiercely Loved: God's Wild Thoughts about You
God thinks about His children and how a full and correct understanding of God’s fierce love will transform His Church and the way it interacts with the world
So when you receive the love of God for you
then you actually have a capacity to love others
‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your mind
So when I have received the love of God and somebody does something hateful to me
Amazon There is, she lamented, a “lack of humility” in churches that compels them to respond with love. She pointed to the way some Christians have reacted to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, ending federal support for abortion
accusing one another of not saying enough or simply saying the wrong thing
‘What in the world?’ Does the Body of Christ have an auto-immune disease where we're just going to attack ourselves
I don't see people actually being able to look at the Body of Christ and say
we're going to know about Jesus because they love each other so well,’” she said
“I don't see people who have received the love of God,” she continued
“I see people who have somehow turned into Pharisees who are actually looking for reasons to exclude or discount other people rather than love because love calls us higher and love believes the best
… When I have a subtleness that God loves me
then I can actually be kind to other people who are cruel to me
Kindness is actually what leads a lot of people to repentance.”
Bevere reflected on how Christians can practice love when posting on social media
especially when it comes to hot-button issues
when she celebrated the overturning of Roe on Instagram
“A young girl who was obviously upset said
you'll never see the overpopulation,’” Bevere recalled
are called to “look behind the slap to turn the other cheek,” adding: “It's not that God wants us to be hit again; you have to say what's really going on in this person's life
And that means I’ve got to actually respond the way Jesus would want me to respond
And He loves people; He loves frightened people
He loves people that are listening to lies
He loves people that have been wounded by the Church.”
Once a believer truly grasps God’s fierce love for them
readers will experience God’s love for them as it chips away at “every stronghold of lies that say they’re less than.”
“I hope that love will begin to make them who they were always created to be
and it will just open their eyes to the wonder of a God who is love — not a God who has love but a God who is love
and just love them into a place of wholeness.”

2021 at 7:47 pm ET.css-79elbk{position:relative;}In Chatham Township’s Committee race for November's General Election
Mark Lois replaces Daniel Bevere as the Republican on the ballot
NJ — Chatham Township’s Republican Committee announced that candidate Daniel Bevere - the Republican nominee in June’s uncontested primary - has stepped down
with Mark Lois now taking Bevere’s former spot
Spokesperson Thom Ammirato made the announcement about the candidate switch on Thursday, with the roster of 2021 General Election candidates updated on the Morris County Clerk’s Office website as of Thursday
reflecting in Chatham Township’s Committee race that Lois was now the candidate
Lois is planning to face Katherine “Kathy” Abbott
who now sits on the Township Committee as both a member and deputy mayor
Bevere had 499 votes and Abbott 278 in the Democratic primary
Lois was unanimously selected for Bevere’s spot by fellow members of the township's Republican Committee
“Mark has my confidence and the unanimous support of the Republican Committee,” said Bevere
who stepped down for professional obligations and is the municipal chairman of the Chatham Township Republican Committee
“He will be an excellent addition to the Township Committee.”
Lois has been a Chatham resident for 11 years, residing in the township with his wife and two sons, who are students in the School District of the Chathams. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Lois is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
He has volunteered with the Colony Pool Committee
“I am so honored to accept the nomination to be the Republican candidate for Chatham Township Committee,” said Lois
“Chatham Township’s character is worth preserving
It is an incredible place and home to truly exceptional people.”
citing a “20 percent tax increase of the past two years of Democratic control” in the township
He said he’s been successful with township resources as a volunteer “as a result of creative problem solving and resident collaboration.”
More About Chatham Township’s 2021 Election Season So Far
The swap between Bevere and Lois adds another layer to an already eventful election season in Chatham Township
Abbott was appointed on July 13 to the Chatham Township Committee by the Democratic Committee of Chatham Township
with her ceremonious swearing-in two days later
when she was also picked 3-2 as the township’s deputy mayor
This happened following two unsuccessful attempts to place her in the vacancy left after the resignation of former Chatham Township Mayor Tracy Ness on June 11
Ness had endorsed Abbott as the Democratic primary candidate in April
Ness then submitted her letter of resignation days after the primary
stating that she and her family were moving out of the township
Abbott ended up in the seat after the two Republicans on the Township Committee sided that a nominee shouldn’t be picked in executive session
which triggered a special meeting on July 8
the two Democratic and Republican committee members ended up in a deadlock over their nominee choices
with the Democratic nominees given opportunities to speak and answer questions in a public session
Abbott had previously served on the Township Committee as a Republican from 2012 through 2014
attempting to run again for office in 2014 and 2015
but lost both times in the Republican primary
After being inactive in Republican politics in recent years
the Democratic Committee of Chatham asked Abbott to run in the Democratic primary
Her switch from the Republican to Democratic Party this past spring
adds one more element to the Chatham Township race for Township Committee
It is also Abbott's first time as a Committee Member serving as the township's Deputy Mayor

"Adamant," addresses how Christians can stand firm in the truth in today's culture of moral relativism
| (PHOTO: FACEBOOK/LISA BEVERE)In an era of "fake news," Lisa Bevere encouraged Christians to use social media to promote "truth" rather than "opinion," warning that just because something goes viral doesn't mean it has the approval of God
"There's a huge danger when it comes to social media
because there's often no accountability," the New York Times best-selling author and internationally known speaker told The Christian Post
"The Bible is very clear that many of us should not be masters or teachers
but we can translate that to bloggers and posters
The Bible says we're going to give an account for every idle word
and I think that can be applied to what we post on social media
We need to use social media to declare truth."
there's a "mob mentality" where "people can say whatever they want to say
and when it goes viral they think they have the approval of God," the speaker and author contended
You're pointing out problems and not solutions
If you don't give people an answer and point them to Jesus
who with her husband John founded Messenger International
an organization committed to developing uncompromising followers of Christ who transform their world
Adamant: Finding Truth in a Universe of Opinions
she encourages believers to look to God for truth and certainty instead of relying on the world's ever-changing opinions
She told CP that far too many people today have "high opinions" and "low awareness" of what Scripture actually says
"I believe that when you're under authority
"The number of followers you have doesn't give you authority
The number of people that read your blog doesn't give you authority
Being under the authority of the Word of God and being under the authority of the relationship of a community of believers
these are the things that give us true authority."
Christians should ask themselves: "Am I actually advancing the Kingdom of God
What can I say to challenge people to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ?"
"I should be aware of Who I am representing when I post," Bevere said
"I don't have this freedom to post whatever I want on social media
and I don't have the right to take people emotional hostage and process my own pain for everyone to hear."
Bevere explained: Those who are known for what they're against
and those who claim to be the "cool new people" and reject absolute truth
and so we have to make sure we walk in both of those when we are posting on social media or any platform
the less privilege you have to say whatever you want to say."
Bevere admitted it's impossible to be both biblically sound and politically correct in today's culture of moral relativism
but the Church gets so wrapped up in small questions when we already have the big answer
"Do I believe marriage is between a man and a woman
But the Church is rampant with divorce and jealousy
and it's very confusing to people in the world."
"We need to live the truth in love so people can actually see our lives rather than just hear our words," she added
In a culture where truth changes with the trends
Bevere encouraged Christians to not only preach the truth with boldness
"If we can actually begin to live the transformation that the truth provides
it'll be woven into the fabric of our beings
We the Church must humble ourselves and stop making excuses and say
we want to live the truth before you and speak it in love.' The Church has a moment to be radically transformed."

Internationally known Christian speaker and best-selling author Lisa Bevere recently warned Christians of the dangers of “going viral,” urging believers to seriously consider the messages they promote on social media
She stressed the importance of every word that comes from our mouths
Beth Moore: Christians Who Proudly Reject the ‘Prosperity Gospel’ Are Embracing the ‘Pampering Gospel’
“There’s a huge danger when it comes to social media, because there’s often no accountability,” Bevere said, according to Christian Post
“The Bible is very clear that many of us should not be ‘masters’ or ‘teachers,’ but we can translate that to ‘bloggers’ and ‘posters.’ The Bible says we’re going to give an account for every idle word
We need to use social media to declare truth.”
There are many Christians today that do not take Bevere’s advice and focus more of their energy on trying to be cool
Bevere said there is a pervasive mentality in modern Christianity where “people can say whatever they want to say
and when it goes viral they think they have the approval of God.”
She explained that that is “not the case,” and that just because something is seen and loved by thousands of people
you’re infecting them,” she said
“You’re pointing out problems and not solutions
If you don’t give people an answer and point them to Jesus
you’re just creating more of a problem.”

They encourage believers to look away from the world
turning to God as the ultimate source of unchanging truth
How to Be a Perfect Christian
Bevere said she believes that a reason people often misuse scripture
or have a wrong idea about God or Christianity
is that they have “high opinions” and “low awareness” of what the Bible actually instructs
“I believe that when you’re under authority
The number of followers you have doesn’t give you authority
The number of people that read your blog doesn’t give you authority
these are the things that give us true authority.”
She then urged believers to evaluate their heart’s intentions prior to posting on a social media channel like Facebook
“Am I actually advancing the Kingdom of God
or am I causing people to recoil?” we should ask
“What can I say to challenge people to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ?”
“I should be aware of who I am representing when I post,” Bevere said
“I don’t have this freedom to post whatever I want on social media

“Do I believe marriage is between a man and a woman
and it’s very confusing to people in the world.”
“We need to live the truth in love so people can actually see our lives rather than just hear our words,” she added
Bevere encouraged Christians to stand firm in their beliefs and not waver just because the culture tells them to

“If we can actually begin to live the transformation that the truth provides

the Lord just re-inspired that dream and said
they secured Bevere as the conference speaker
and also Christian musician Christy Nockels
"She focuses on God's call on women," Pemberton said of Bevere
"She's just really anointed to empower women and rise them up to everything God called them to be."
