Camille Van Puymbroeck is a Belgian freelance journalist with a big interest in anything lifestyle and ecology-related. Nothing makes her more happy than visiting a former Soviet building, overgrown by nature, equipped with a camera and a coffee. Not without an Italian meal afterwards, of course. For the 22nd time, Floralia Brussels will celebrate the arrival of spring in Belgium. The private park of Groot-Bijgaarden’s 17th-century castle will be transformed into a floral paradise, featuring over a million flower bulbs in full bloom. Visitors can experience this spectacular floral event daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with last entry 30 minutes before closing.
Spring is the perfect time to admire beautiful flowers, and while the Netherlands is often more famous for its flower bulbs, Belgium’s Floralia Brussels offers an equally stunning display. From 4th April to 2nd May, the private park of Groot-Bijgaarden Castle will open its gates to the public, offering countless picture-perfect moments. Admission costs €17 per person, with discounts available. Booking in advance via the official website is recommended.

For this special occasion, the castle’s flower beds will showcase a vibrant mix of 400 different kinds of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths. As visitors stroll along the two-kilometre-long route, they will be immersed in a world of botanical wonders.
For those who wish to extend their visit, an on-site cafeteria provides a charming setting for a relaxing coffee break.

roadworks will be carried out on the Belgian section of the E40 between Groot-Bijgaarden and Ternat
This particular section of the road will close tonight
The maintenance work on the E40 between Groot-Bijgaarden and Ternat will be conducted over three consecutive nights from tonight (7th December) until Thursday morning (10th December)
The road towards Ghent will be closed at 8pm until 5am on each of the aforementioned nights according to the Belgian transport association
Long-distance traffic will be diverted via Antwerp using the A12 and E19 roads
the Groot-Bijgaarden car park will be closed on the above-mentioned dates from 7.00 pm
Trucks that have parked there earlier will have to leave the parking lot before 8pm or stay there overnight until 5 am
maintenance works are also to be carried out at the E25 junction with the E40 (Avroy-Chênée)
The road will be completely impassable in both directions for several consecutive nights from 9.30pm until 6 am the next day
This is the section between junction 35 Avroy / Laveu and junction 39 Chênée
The roadworks will be carried out overnight until the morning of Friday December 11th
