Heavy Metal fans are flocking to pray at the feet of a Ronnie James Dio statue in Bulgaria after it was spotted crying tears of blood
Crowds descended on the Black Sea coastal town of Kavarna
The statue – erected in 2010 – has been completely mobbed by zealous metal fans desperate to witness the amazing spectacle
Video footage shows pilgrims at the base of the statue just as a ‘bloody tear’ appears to fall from its right eye
Thousands of drunken metal fans clad in leather and denim descended upon the small city of Kavarna
They have overwhelmed the towns resources and have been camping in the city’s Central Park
“I wish these dirty smelly freaks would go home” said Kavarna’s Mayor
“They have turned our beautiful little town into a heavy metal toilet”
The statue has already been linked to several ‘miracles’
such as a woman who had a seven-inch tumor which reportedly disappeared after she visited it. Jennifer Dunlop claims
“Immediately after touching the statue my stomach tumor disappeared
I felt a rumbly in my tumbly and the tumor drops right out in the $hitter”
“I came here seeking a cure for my club foot
My left foot is a Men’s size 11 and my right foot is a Child’s size 6
Since I was six years old I wore Frankenstein boots and braces
After touching the Dio statue I now stand 6 foot tall and can run like a gazelle
A number of weeping statues have been declared fake by Heavy Metal officials over the years
President of the Heavy Metal Association of America said
“It is unclear if the spectacle is a true miracle
the result of condensation or someone’s idea of a joke”

GREEN BAY − Coffee shops are great places to enjoy a good old "cup of joe," a book
downtown Green Bay has several coffee shops — on both sides of the river — each with its own unique ambiance and coffee taste
To save you some time when deciding the best spot for you to visit
Streetwise has compiled a guide with the coffee shops in the downtown area and what makes them special
We interviewed some of the owners or managers of these local coffeehouses and asked about the aesthetics
what helps them stand out among other local options
another local company that sells bath and body products
Other merchandise like Glas-branded cups and apparel can be purchased in store and on the website
POPULAR DRINKS AND MENU: Manager Gabriela Trujillo said the company buys coffee beans from an organic producer in Texas
The coffee beans are roasted in a building just a couple blocks away from the shop
But there are specialty drinks like a Full Monkey — made with espresso
milk and ice — or Salted Caramel Frappe — made with espresso
vanilla powder with milk and ice — as well as seasonal drinks
They also serve a breakfast menu that includes oatmeal
WHAT MAKES GLAS SPECIAL: "We try to acknowledge people and treat them like family," Trujillo said
"Instead of acknowledging them as a transaction."

KavarnaWHAT TO EXPECT: Kavarna was the only vegetarian food option when it started almost three decades ago
which means "cafe" or "coffeehouse" in Czech
with the idea of the place being a cultural gathering point
Since Hastreiter and co-owner Kayla Viste purchased it from previous owners in 2019
the cafe offers a good environment for those who seek solitude to read or work
while it's also spacious enough for others that want to enjoy a healthy meal and a cup of coffee in company
Kavarna is also ecofriendly: They compost all the food scraps and use recyclable materials
There are a couple tables and chairs on the sidewalk for outdoor seating in warmer months
The coffee shop also sells paintings and art created by Brochá
POPULAR DRINKS AND MENU: There are several types of coffee beans for sale like Ethiopian
Hastreiter said they work with a company that pays a fair price to farmers in those countries
So they pay a little extra for their coffee and roast it themselves at the cafe
The menu offers more than 20 coffee drinks to choose from with tea options as well
And if you are not looking for coffee or tea

WHAT MAKES KAVARNA SPECIAL: "It's one of those few places in town where you have complete cross-sections of people with different socioeconomics
There is not a cooler coffee shop or restaurant in town — in our opinion — that has this field
It's hard to find really sweet buildings like this."

WHAT TO EXPECT: Founded in March 2020 in the Rail Yard area of the Broadway District, Voyageurs specializes in sourdough breads but also serves Colectivo Coffee
It has an open-concept bakery design with large transparent windows to let in as much light as possible
There's also a small space with two small chairs and games for kids
Co-owner Celeste Parins said they want people to have a good experience and enjoy their products
which are made with great technique and high-quality ingredients
POPULAR DRINKS AND MENU: The menu has several types of sandwiches
A small coffee selection offers cappuccino
There are also seasonal drink combos like a Cinnamon Roll Latte made with a house cinnamon roll glaze
espresso and a choice of whole or oat milk
It is served hot or iced with a Sourdough Cinnamon Roll Skorpa — a biscuit or cookie
WHAT MAKES VOYAGEURS SPECIAL: "A fun thing we have uniquely as a bakery in the coffee perspective are those specialty drinks we create," Parins said
"We rotate them and we always have three on the menu."

It will also be attended by Bulgarian football legend Krasimir Balakov and many private guests from Bulgaria and abroad
Legendary singer Ronnie James Dio passed away on May 16
2010 after a long and hard battle with stomach cancer
preserved on the records of the bands Rainbow
left an ineraseable trace in the history of rock and metal and in the hearts of music-lovers

Entering this café-patisserie is (I imagine) like stepping back in time
tall stools surround the traditional coffee bar area
and an original decorative iron balustrade separates a mezzanine level from the main café
Delicate music plays through original speakers and you can almost hear the vinyl crackle
A glass cabinet filled with cakes seems to sing to me as I find a table
It’s a Saturday afternoon and Kavarna Šlágr is almost full
which is flooded with sunlight through the giant window onto Francouzská
Leafing through the dual language menu reveals a wide range of coffee drinks including all the regulars as well as some more interesting offerings: Turkish coffee with cardamom (65 CZK)
sailors coffee (served with rum) (59 CZK) and cherry coffee
as Šlágr is styled as a traditional kavárna rather than a čajovna
It’s a hot day so I opt for a frappe (49 CZK) which
was slightly out of place in Šlágr’s First Republic tribute
however: frothy and foaming in the right way and wonderfully refreshing
I got a bit cake-happy and shared a gargantuan carrot cake and an even bigger banana cake
These were both superb but exercise caution when ordering – one is enough to share
My second visit was on a weekday morning – a number of people had mentioned Kavarna Šlágr as a good breakfast haunt
I sat on the mezzanine level at the back of the café
which is kitted out with cosy armchairs and low tables
Some of the furniture is appears so old that it’s easy to believe it enjoyed the 1920s the first time around
The problem with using old furniture is that it is…well…old
The period light fittings employed fit well with the 20s vibe
but the dimly lit results are a little gloomy for my taste
Whilst upstairs might be a cosy den in the evenings
in the daylight it appears more shabby than chic
A number of breakfast options are available
I chose simple soft boiled as a bit of a test – badly boiled eggs can
so it’s important that cafes get this right
I find relatively few places in Prague offer decent breakfast eggs (but would particularly recommend Café Savoy
Šlágr makes the grade – my eggs were perfectly soft
and the herb omelette on the next table also looked delicious
Some people profess to ‘love’ Kavárna Šlágr
I wouldn’t go that far myself – I think there are other cafés in Prague doing more interesting things with greater proficiency
it is certainly a charming place in which to enjoy a taste of ‘old Prague’ away from the crowds at Café Louvre

The 20th anniversary of the successful completion of Cap
Georgi Georgiev’s sail around the world onboard the Cor Caroli yacht is marked on Dec
Captain Georgiev is the first Bulgarian to complete a solo sail around the world
presents its annual Golden Globe Awards to the best sailor and yachtsman during the year
Vassil Kurtev from Kavarna for his sail around the world
but has become a big name in Bulgarian sailing thanks to his skills as yacht builder and sailor
Kurtev sailed from Kavarna as the skipper of the Odessos Yacht in his trip around the world
It took Odessos 645 days to sail some 26,000 nautical miles and do a full circle around the Earth
Vassil Kurtev marked his 80th birthday alone
Georgi Georgiev is a legend in Bulgarian sailing and is a very significant person in Bulgarian shipping
His name should be popular among young people who love freedom and would become sailors
Georgiev faced alone all the difficulties and tribulations related to seafaring
He was the first Bulgarian to have completed a sail around the world onboard a yacht
he departed from Havana and completed his voyage on December 20
His sailing is calculated on the basis on days spent in sea – a total of 202
For this sail he had been preparing for his entire life
As a young man he became involved in sailing
but his whole conscious life passed by the sea
chosen to present Bulgaria at the OSTAR international sailing competition - a very prestigious single-handed transatlantic regatta
which starts from Great Britain and finishes in Plymouth
This was the first big international participation of Bulgarian sailors and results were very good
That is how Georgi Georgiev confidently started his journey around the world
The entire Bulgarian maritime community followed closely his sail
he had difficult moments like his yacht needing repairs
getting stuck in shallow waters and others but he overcame them
His success is a great achievement for Bulgarian sailing and the recognition he received is quite deserved
An annual award for the best sailing achievement is named after the "Cor Caroli" yacht."
These days the Cor Coroli Yacht is on display at the Naval Museum in Varna
The museum also owns the Guinness Book of Records
which includes the achievement of the Bulgarian adventurer as the fastest sail around the world onboard monohull yacht
This record is another reminder that Captain Georgi Georgiev is part of history of the most glorious sailors in the world

You could even take a hike in the Kaliakra nature reserve.
but it shines as a destination for a mates holiday in the sun
and it was famous for its Kavarna Rock Fest - but unfortunately
All the beach resorts are world-famous for their traditional cuisine

Brno Daily’s Melis Karabulut has some great tips if you are looking for a quiet and cozy cafe to read on an Autumn afternoon… Credit: Freepik
enjoy the crunchy-crunches of the Autumn leaves
and find a spot in the city for a good couple of hours of reading
Since I prefer silent places where I can really focus on what I am reading
with a calm environment without loud music and crowds of people
I have been doing some hands-on research to share with our readers
to join us in this romantic feeling of October
Spolek is probably the quietest cafe in Brno; absolutely no music
set in the courtyard of an apartment block
is rather hard to notice as you walk down Orli
which helps make it an even better place to hide and dive into a good book for hours
and simplicity that brings me to the 1980s
The ground floor has a spacious seating area with a kids’ corner
though it is rather calm on a weekday afternoon with young professionals reading
you will find a similar seating area serving also as a book club
What I personally enjoy the most about Spolek is the easiness of the environment; a cafe being a cafe without fancy decor
and quality time with your reading or work
And it all comes with quite moderate prices
They serve a variety of food options, including sandwiches, salads, desserts, daily lunch menus, and some traditional Czech treats. From time to time, the cafe also hosts small-scale exhibitions, literary readings, and other events
always a good place to go when you are around Moravske Namesti and Luzanky Park
Most of its regulars are students spending hours studying there
and those looking for a place for nice long conversations with close friends
The interior design is that of a ‘cute cafe to visit on a rainy day in the city center’ that calls you in to snuggle with a hot cup of coffee and a slice of their chocolate cakes
go on a Sunday for a calm morning coffee – they are open from 9am even at weekends
there are tons of books available to read there
Another very calm place in Brno is definitely Buchta B
and always good coffee and tea with super cool staff
Several times I have been the only customer there at the weekends
reading for hours in the company of tasty and healthy cakes
so there is an environment-friendly touch in everything they do
the prices may be a bit higher than the average city-center cafes
I strongly believe that it is worth every penny
and offer some of the best breakfasts in town
that fill your soul with happiness and your body with nutrients
It is also possible to buy tons of artsy and eco products designed by local craftspeople – notebooks
after 10 cups of coffee you will get 1 for free

11 Bulgarian beaches will receive the prestigious sign for the purity and compliance with the Blue Flag ecological norms
safety and clear sea water in 2017 in Bulgaria are with one more compared to the previous summer
After 2 years of absence in the list of the best beaches with the sign returns Albena
Among the new winners of the Blue Flag sign is the White Lagoon beach in Kavarna
from the prestigious list is missing the beach of Sunny Beach – north
because of the difficulties in choosing the owner of the beach
The rest of the list preserved the signs from last summer – the beaches Oazis
Sveti Vlas-east and Marina Dinevi yacht port
All beaches in Bulgaria are a total of 238
with nearly half of them being operated by private owners
More and more tourists are interested in choosing a hotel from the certificate that has the beach
There is also a tendency for most major tour operators to categorize the beaches along which they offer a summer vacation
