Sports journalist Ognyan Georgiev told in the morning block of Nova TV the details of the new sentence of the Olympic champion Galabin Boevski for trafficking drugs
Boevski was arrested in a large-scale operation in Portugal for organizing drug trafficking on a particularly large scale
We remind you that in 2011 Galabin Boevski was arrested at Guarulhos airport
in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo for drug trafficking
He was then caught with 9 kilograms of cocaine stashed in two of the three sports jackets of his minor daughter Sarah
Boevski was convicted of a similar offence
Boevski is involved in drug trafficking for more than 1000 kg
Three more foreigners were caught with him
He was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison in Portugal after the court found him guilty
It was not proven in court that he was the organizer of the whole scheme
but he is the person who gives instructions to the secret agent where and when to transfer the cocaine to the sea
He also tells him that he must provide the captain who brings the cocaine with 500 liters of gasoline
food and water so that he can return," explains Georgiev
He draws attention to the fact that 11 special agents are involved in the entire operation
some of them were engaged in eavesdropping
"The biggest sentence is the captain who brings the drug
Ognyan Georgiev commented on the claims of former interior minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov
as well as investigator Botyo Botev about the relationship between Evelin Banev - Brendo and Galabin Boevski
He was part of the Italian prosecutor's investigation against Brendo," Georgiev said
he denied that Boev and Boevski are cousins
but admitted that they are from the same region - Knezha
The connection between Galabin Boevski and Matej Boev is Matej's wife," the journalist revealed
He specified that Boevski and Matei's wife had a joint business in Sofia
We remind you that in 2014 Galabin Boevski
Evelin Boev - Brendo and Orlin Alexiev were interrogated regarding the affair with a ton and a half of cocaine found in tires from the "Dakar" rally
And those not pictured due to graduation are Shivani Ananthasekar

The data shows that the highest average salary in Bulgaria for 2022 is in the municipality of Chelopech
where employees receive 3,398 BGN per month

the charity initiative "Plastic Caps for the Future" will donate its 6th baby incubator to the neonatal ward of the hospital in the small town of Knezha after donating another five infant incubators to the hospitals in the towns of Cherven Bryag
there will be events for collection of plastic bottle caps in Pleven
At the heart of the initiative are two people: Martina Yordanova and Lazar Radkov
Their encounter at a charity training turned out to be crucial for hundreds of prematurely born babies in Bulgaria
This was when they came up with the idea of collecting plastic caps to raise funds for purchasing of baby incubators to be donated to needy municipal hospitals
funds are raised because many people get involved
and 70 tonnes of plastics have been recycled to date
“The average price of the plastic material that these caps are made of – high-density polyethylene – is about 40 stotinki per kg
We collect data from several hospitals to determine where to donate the other two of the eight purchased baby incubators”
and returns to the story of how it all started:
“The idea was to make a sports playground
but asked the question of how to use the collected money the response of purchasing baby incubators was the most dominant
We found out that one in three children who were in a baby incubator develops visual impairment and every tenth newborn in Bulgaria needs to be placed in a neonatal intensive care unit
The situation in hospitals in small municipalities is horrific – there is lack of specialized equipmentor the only available equipment dates back to the 1980s
Thus the motto of our campaign was born and it is "Caps for the future"
The charity campaign has a Facebook page with almost 60,000 followers
and the people who collect caps number thousands across Bulgaria
and the media outlets also help in promoting It”
and on the other hand it helps premature babies
and on yet another hand – it educates people in the spirit of volunteering and changes public attitudes
Many people have written to us that they have begun collecting and disposing of garbage separately
Volunteering is something important and it needs to be nurtured and developed more in Bulgaria
Every developed civil society is driven by its more active citizens who dedicate part of their free time in order to make their environment a better place to live.”
"Caps for the Future" campaign relies entirely on volunteers
on those “people who do their job every day
and whose names remain unknown; people who are the reason to see small improvements happen step by step - not governments and politicians”
He says the activity is completely transparent
They have already established working mechanisms of importing baby incubators of high European standards at preferential prices and warranty periods
Radkov also explains the mechanism by which caps are exchanged in return for financial resources:
“Bulgaria has the capacity to recycle the plastic waste of half of the Balkans
Only one plant has a capacity of 220,000 tonnes per year
and all plastic waste in Bulgaria accounts for 170,000 tonnes
We pass on the collected caps to a recycling plant
which processes the plastic into granules for future production
There are plastics that can be recycled 10 times.”
Nearly 85% of the followers of the initiative are women
Many kindergartens and schools collect caps
We hope to have a long-term influence on children because they bring the new things into the family
We want to nurture in them a culture of volunteering and shape the idea that you have to preserve nature and leave the world a little better behind you
It is necessary to change the way of thinking of the Bulgarians
because this is the way to change the future
at least we will have cleaned some parts of Bulgaria and bought baby incubators for some hospitals," Lazar Radkov says in conclusion

The occasion of the display is the 80th birthday of the artist who lives in Paris
Luben Dimanov was born in the town of Knezha
He has graduated the National Academy of Arts in Sofia

After that I spent a semester focusing on prints – in fact I was advised to do so by great artist Iliya Petrov
This encouraged my interest in illustration
I was equally attracted by easel-painting too
My curiosity has always taken me on paths to new themes and various techniques.” The exhibition features illustrations created by Dimanov for bibliographic editions such as Dante’s Divine Comedy
Baudelaire’s Flowers of Evil and Shakespeare’s Sonnets
In the mid-1970s he was invited to London to work on the illustrations of The Sonnets
„For me literature is something of exceptional merit
I am able to share this complexity of emotion with the readers”
The artist has joined international biennials of graphic art on different continents of the world
Dimanov is holder of many Bulgarian and international prestigious distinctions
„Life is an eternal challenge that is always turned to me
because there are many paths in it; and from time to time I come out in a meadow
So this is what happens day by day – work and work again”
In the mid-1970s Luben Dimanov was invited to work in Paris and settled there
“Four years later I was lucky to live in my own home
The rooms of my kids surrounded it and they went through it all the time”
today grownup individuals with children of their own
They love to come to Bulgaria when they have time
Central to the one-man exhibition of Luben Dimanov at the Sofia City Art Gallery are ten big canvases
Each commandment is written down in both Bulgarian and Engish on the respective work
