Fresh off a recent association with popular Delhi eatery Smoke House Deli where their Spring/Summer '13 collection served as the inspiration for a fashion-meets-food menu the duo have announced a tie-up with the world's most popular flip-flops brand Havaianas is releasing a special collection of flip-flops for the Indian market inspired by the aesthetics of Shivan & Narresh's eponymous swimwear brand which Havaianas has translated into four versions of crystal-embellished flip flops that come packaged in a Shivan & Narresh waterproof sleeve "Our approach to embellishment is that it should be functional," explains Narresh Kukreja "Swimwear shouldn't be covered in Swarovski crystals to the point that you're afraid to have fun in case you damage it That's the same idea that Havaianas followed with these flip-flops They're glamorous enough to be worn on your honeymoon or luxury holiday but also durable enough to be tossed into your luggage or worn down to the beach." Hand-sewn by artisans from Alagoa Nova in Brazil the flip-flops are made from organic meshes using straw from the region's moriche palm tree Priced in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000, the collection will be available in August at Shivan & Narresh's boutiques, online at shivanandnarresh.com and at Havaianas retail outlets.
