You pass through The Strand’s security gate and pull up to an open-air reception where you’re greeted
by friendly staff with a cold towel and a drink
The Strand opened in November on Providenciales
or “Provo,” as the locals call it
Provo’s the third-largest of the 40 islands
that make up the British Overseas Territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI)
is also a favorite destination for celebrities: the Kardashians
and Keith Richards are all regular visitors
and the driveway to the late Prince’s villa is still painted a rich purple
It’s not difficult to see the appeal for folks who can afford to vacation anywhere. Turks and Caicos offers the pristine waters and Caribbean culture that draws hordes of visitors to its neighboring Bahamas
But it follows a strategy for developing tourism in areas with low population density
which provides visitors with a feeling of seclusion and exclusivity as it respects locals’ privacy
Its white-sand beaches are considered some of the best in the world
It’s home to the third-largest barrier reef and regularly listed as a top destination for diving
2 in the world for diving with large sea life like stingrays
and even humpback whales.) There are also plentiful opportunities for water sports
TCI has one of the Caribbean’s largest above-ground cave systems
and Provo has an award-winning golf course
Its location makes TCI far less prone to hurricanes and other inclement weather than the Bahamas
and it has one of the lowest crime rates in the Caribbean
Provo is a three-hour direct flight from Charlotte
and The Strand is only a 15-minute drive from Providenciales International Airport
(Take a taxi or ask The Strand to send a private car.) From the time you enter The Strand’s gates
Sip coladas on the resort’s 2,230-square-foot secluded beach
and quiet Cooper Jack Bay and the heated infinity pool that overlooks it
Post Instagram photos of your suite that looks straight out of Architectural Digest with its limestone walls and floors
Strand Suite Ground Floor Living Room And Pool
The resort offers a mix of rentable suites and villas and privately owned vacation homes
and each is equipped with an oceanfront view; a kitchen or wet bar; a Nespresso machine; outdoor lounge seating; and two walls of floor-to-ceiling doors between the indoor and outdoor living spaces that slide open to merge them
Patios come with some combination of wading pools
Larger families or groups can combine multiple adjoining villas or suites
Rates for a one-bedroom suite begin at $880 per night with a three-night minimum
The DelMar Restaurant & Bar serves wood-fired pizzas
uses fruits and vegetables from the resort’s garden and trees and serves fresh seafood caught by The Strand’s own Captain JD
(If you take The Strand’s boat out or want to fish yourself
And he’s got personality for days.) Start your day with a fresh-fruit smoothie or Rancheros Eggs
The wood-fired pizzas—with crusts you’d be content to eat plain—taste especially delightful poolside with cocktails
Dinner highlights include Captain JD’s Catch of the Day; Grilled Spanish Octopus with paprika
The DelMar also has an extensive and varied wine menu compiled by The Strand’s level-3 sommelier
The Strand offers several options for staying in: par-baked dishes to pop in the oven yourself; prepared food brought in and plated for you; or a private-chef service
The island’s Fish Fry
is a favorite experience for locals and tourists alike
Sample local dishes and drinks alongside live music and craft vendors.
For a dramatic dinner experience off-resort, visit Coco Bistro, set in the largest palm grove on the island, or Cave Bar, chiseled into natural rock walls overlooking Sunset Beach. If you prefer homey island cuisine and chill hangs, hit up Omar’s Beach Hut
Omar’s Beach Hut offers laid-back dining with a view
You won’t be hurting for fun bevvies in Turks and Caicos. Turk’s Head Brewery is just two miles from both The Strand and Providenciales International Airport
Don’t go because it’s Turks and Caicos’ only brewery—go because the beer is excellent (even by the high Charlotte standards)
You can get a flight and brewery tour for just $15
(Note: You do have to ring a bell to pass through a security gate to get inside
Turks and Caicos also has two floating bars: Noah’s Ark Beach Club and Captain Oak’s Floating Tiki Bar
Both are just a short and gorgeous boat ride from Provo
and The Strand will happily chauffer you on theirs
Noah’s Ark is for the party animals; play on deck or the water trampolines
named last year by AFAR as one of the top seven floating bars in the world
is far more laid-back and surrounded by the island’s trademark shallow
including: the beach; pool; boat tours; paddleboarding; kayaking; bonefishing; deep-sea fishing; sailing; eFoiling; kiteboarding; tennis; pickleball; cooking classes; and wine tastings
The Strand also has a kids club and babysitters available
and it plans to open a full-service spa in early 2026
has so much positive energy that he may just convince you to get up early for sunrise beach yoga
that’s saying a lot.) Something else you desire that isn’t on the resort’s activity list
Just ask JP or Hospitality Manager Jenny Hannenberg-Feig
The Strand also has drivers and tour guides—and
Captain JD—ready for any time you want to adventure off-resort by road or sea
you’d probably never guess that it’s also one of the most sustainable resorts in the Caribbean

Department of State issued a Level 2 travel advisory for the Turks and Caicos
urging Americans to exercise increased caution
Faith Katunga•Mar 6
The U.S. Department of State has issued a Level 2 travel advisory for the Turks and Caicos Islands
The warning urges American travelers to exercise increased caution due to crime and strict firearm regulations
This update comes a year after several American tourists were arrested and detained for unknowingly carrying ammunition into the British Overseas Territory
multiple American tourists have been detained under the islands’ strict firearm laws
Some travelers were unaware that bullets or cartridges from previous gun-related activities in the U.S
Despite the unintentional nature of these infractions
the Turks and Caicos Firearms Ordinance enforces harsh penalties
including a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 years
Turks and Caicos officials have maintained a strict stance on firearm-related offenses
They emphasize that the law applies to all individuals
The Attorney General’s Chambers and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions have reiterated that violations will not be excused based on lack of knowledge
It took months before the courts heard the cases of some arrested Americans. For many, even a single bullet found in luggage led to lengthy legal battles and significant jail time. In response to these incidents, the U.S. State Department updated its travel advisory on March 4
Travelers should carefully inspect their bags before flying to the islands to ensure they are not unknowingly carrying prohibited items
According to the advisory, even a single bullet in luggage can lead to arrest, fines, and potential imprisonment. The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) also issued a separate travel warning, urging U.S
gun owners to avoid visiting the islands altogether due to the harsh penalties
The enforcement of these strict gun laws has sparked controversy among American travelers
Many express concern about potential legal risks
Some travel experts now warn visitors to be extra cautious about local laws when traveling to the Caribbean
the arrests of multiple Americans over ammunition-related offenses have led to fear and hesitation among potential tourists
They have continued to share their experiences to warn others about the consequences of unknowingly carrying ammunition into Turks and Caicos

Several years ago, my family visited Turks and Caicos as part of a cruise itinerary
I read about a dog rescue where volunteers could walk puppies
Sadly, our cruise port was on Grand Turk and Potcake Place K9 Rescue on Providenciales — two different (and very far apart) islands in Turks and Caicos
which is made up of 40 main islands and cays
Recently, though, as my family headed to an all-inclusive resort in Turks and Caicos
I was delighted to learn we'd be on the same island as Potcake Place
we made plans to take a taxi from our resort into town and visit the shelter
A potcake is a term for a dog native to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos
The name came about because locals once fed the stray animals the remains in their cooking pots
Although there's no exact formula for a potcake's DNA
the breed is essentially a mixed-breed street dog
They're social and food-oriented and can be seen roaming the streets throughout these countries as strays
Potcake Place runs on donations with a mission to reduce the number of homeless potcakes on the island
in part by adopting rescues out to approved
if you happen to be visiting Providenciales
we got to Potcake Place a little before 10 a.m
and waited in line with many other visitors who were there to volunteer
After filling out a form and waiting our turn

Heidi was handed off to us with a leash and a tote full of poop bags

and rested on the beautiful lawns of the Providenciales Ritz Carlton
She seemed as thrilled to be out and about with us as we were to have her
even if she did get tired of walking a few times and needed to be carried (a possibility the volunteers at Potcake Place warned us about)

According to the Turks and Caicos Education Ministry
there are several gaps in the system that they are trying desperately to close
Their research says that 89% of students in the school system are reading below grade level
and 30% are three or more grade levels below.
This has motivated United Way Turks and Caicos Islands' (UWTCI) renewed focus on increasing early-grade literacy in their community
UWTCI has been working to close the gaps that threaten to swallow children like Diane whole
Children in the Turks and Caicos Islands officially begin school at five or later
many of them start school with little exposure to reading.
United Ways worldwide have long recognized the importance of early literacy in long-term educational success. UWTCI continues that trend by intervening at the earliest possible juncture. Their Lit from Birth program provides parents with books to read to their newborns before leaving the Cheshire Hall Medical Center, where all of the territory's children are born. Along with the Youth Help Foundation that provides the books
UWTCI can offer continuing support to parents in their child's early years to increase their best chances when they are enrolled in school.
But there are instances in which children are enrolled on time
UWTCI hosted a round of consultations with the community to share research on the progress of local children and solicit recommendations
and other professionals answered the call to lead the consultations
allowed the Turks and Caicos Islands children to share their challenges and hopes with the adults in the community.
While student-led consultations are a novel approach
increasing literacy in their community has always been UWTCI's priority
Initiatives such as Lit from Birth and the Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) are fundamental to the Turks and Caicos United Way's work
Fulford says the SEP has been “carefully designed to enrich the lives of the participants of this camp
My board of directors are elated to be providing the funding for this camp as we are sure that any investment into the youth of this country is a good investment.” When SEP welcomed its 2023 cohort of 78
As a participant in the UWTCI summer program
she will benefit from an afterschool intervention beginning in September
UWTCI volunteers have already committed to providing one-on-one tutoring during the next school term
And like all children the United Way supports
When the summer enrichment program ended in late July
many children had made giant steps toward literacy
she had already progressed far enough to stand in front of her peers and read simple sentences

The U.S. State Department reissued its Level 2 travel advisory for Turks and Caicos this week as the island destination continues to smash tourism records

Travelers are also reminded to avoid packing firearms and ammunition in their luggage

State Department travel advisory does not impact the destination’s surging visitor arrivals
Tourism to the Turks and Caicos “is stronger than ever with visitor rates on pace for a record-breaking year,” said Zhavago Jolly
Jolly’s statement followed the State Department’s March 4 update of its Level 2 travel advisory to reflect information on traveling with firearms and ammunition. Last year, five American travelers were arrested in the country for carrying ammunition in their luggage
including single bullets held in carry-on bags or luggage
adding “Police strictly enforce these laws
even at the airport when travelers are leaving.”
The advisory also recommends travelers “exercise increased caution in the Turks and Caicos Islands due to crime.” Jolly said the advisory has “remained at a level 2 since July 2023 and does not advise against travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands.”
Jolly was named to the cabinet of Turks and Caicos premier Washington Misick in February following the general elections

State Department has issued a level 2 travel advisory for those visiting the Turks & Caicos Islands
telling Americans traveling there to “exercise increased caution.”
The advisory gives a general warning of island crime
the police force has “limited investigatory resources.” But an update was added to the advisory on March 5
particularly regarding Americans and their luggage
The advisory specifically noted regulations on traveling with ammunition and firearms to the islands
This also included single bullets accidentally left in bags
the Department of State cannot guarantee your release,” the advisory reads
In the summer of 2024, a number of Americans were arrested in Turks and Caicos. A Texas man was sentenced to 33 weeks in prison after being found in possession of ammunition in his luggage.
The State Department did note the British Overseas Territory remains a safe destination.

a perennial favorite on global best-beach lists
has not only drawn acclaim but also spotlights the beauty of lesser-known stretches of sand across the archipelago
Most of Turks and Caicos’ top beaches are found on Providenciales (the most populated island and TCI’s main gateway)
but those who venture to quieter islands like North and Middle Caicos will discover secluded
From vibrant waters to family-friendly shores and hidden coves far from the crowds
there’s a beach in Turks and Caicos for every type of traveler
Best of all: All the beaches are public and free to access
Here’s a guide to the best beaches in Turks and Caicos
Best beach for a vibrant and luxurious atmosphere
If you’ve done any research about Turks and Caicos, Grace Bay Beach is likely one of the first names to pop up
and a big part of why the islands are celebrated as a world-class destination
You'll find most of Providenciales’ large luxury resorts there
expect to see a lively mix of visitors and residents lounging on the soft sands
or taking advantage of the many activities and amenities the beach offers
Local tip: Grace Bay Beach is part of the Princess Alexandra National Park
plants or wildlife from the beach without permission
Feel free to admire and explore—but leave nature as you found it
is the ultimate no-fuss spot for swimming in Turks and Caicos
it’s an excellent place to float and relax without distraction
offering a peaceful retreat from the usual tourist bustle of the nearby Grace Bay Beach – no vendors
no bars and fewer opportunities for watersports and snorkeling
but they mainly attract small reef fish rather than the vibrant marine life
Leeward Beach also shines as a prime spot for sunsets
with views of the setting sun casting a golden glow over the bay.
Local tip: Some of the access points to this beach have either been sold or blocked off
Three remaining to try: Stubb’s Point (also called Sunset Beach)
Best beach for horseback riding and kiteboarding
Long Bay Beach
white sand where the turquoise waters are shallow and inviting
The beach’s versatility stands out – whether you're looking to ride horseback or chase the wind
so you can jump in and start riding the wind almost immediately
Smith’s Reef
near Turtle Cove on Providenciales’ north coast
is a snorkeling haven celebrated for its vibrant marine life and accessible reefs
This site boasts multiple reef systems catering to both novice and experienced snorkelers
The reefs teem with colorful fish such as parrotfish
as well as larger marine creatures like sea turtles
sponges and sea fans thrive at Smith’s Reef
making it one of the healthiest and most picturesque snorkeling spots on the island
consider night snorkeling to encounter nocturnal sea creatures like squid
Detour: About five minutes south of Smith’s Reef is the Bight Reef (also called Coral Gardens)
hawksbill turtles and an occasional nurse shark are among the marine life you’ll encounter here
Half Moon Bay is a pristine beach nestled between the uninhabited islands of Little Water Cay and Water Cay
is about 400ft (110m) wide and is a favorite spot for boat cruises
picnics and even kayaking from Providenciales
The northern side of the bay is a beautiful beach with clear turquoise waters
shallow lagoon with crystal-clear waters and soft sand
It's also an ideal location to spot the fascinating rock iguana
which thrives in the region's coastal bushland and dunes
Local tip: Do not feed the iguanas because it can harm their health
Avoid stepping on or disturbing their burrows
The beach fronting the north coast of Pine Cay, a private island accessible only by boat or small plane, offers unparalleled exclusivity. With calm waters, untouched sand and stunning ocean hues, it stands as one of the most serene and secluded beaches in the Turks and Caicos Islands. This pristine stretch is rarely crowded, as it is primarily enjoyed by guests of the intimate Pine Cay Resort and the few rental villas on the island
Stretching across sandbars that link Pine Cay to nearby islands like Water Cay
this is six miles of uninterrupted coastline
stand-up paddleboarding and sailing are all done on the beach
The island also offers easy access to scuba diving
fishing and boat excursions from nearby Providenciales
What sets this beach apart is its proximity to the "wall" – the dramatic drop-off of the Caicos Islands plateau
creating some of the best scuba diving conditions in the region
made from broken coral and shell fragments
Local tip: Malcolm’s Road Beach (also called Amanyara) is accessible via a rough
three-mile unpaved route from the Wheeland and Blue Hills area
ending at a small beach access with a pavilion and parking
The road has no official signs so it can be hard to find
Tucked away on the peaceful island of Salt Cay, North Bay Beach stands out as the premier beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands' small cays (there are eight inhabited cays)
it's easily one of the prettiest beaches in TCI
Stretching 1.75 miles (2.7km) along the north coast
providing a secluded sanctuary far from the crowds found at other beaches like Grace Bay
This hidden gem is rarely visited by large groups
so you're likely to have the entire beach to yourself
While it’s accessible only by staying overnight on Salt Cay – day trips from Providenciales aren’t currently an option due to limited flights and ferries – it’s worth the effort
Local tip: Salt Cay is a perfect location for whale watching so consider visiting January through early April to spot these majestic creatures
Located on the southwest coast of Providenciales, Sapodilla Bay is the perfect family-friendly beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands
900-foot (275m) stretch offers some of the most calm and clear waters in the region
making it ideal for families with young children to swim and play safely
Although the beach can get busier on peak days
it still feels more intimate than the larger Grace Bay Beach
while light music and occasional water sports activities like jet skiing provide added fun for the whole family
Local tip: Access to Taylor Bay is a bit tricky, with limited parking and a somewhat hidden access path. Make the short journey there by water with a rented jet ski from nearby Five Cays Beach.

Sometimes, you just want a vacation that requires nothing beyond trotting between the beach and pool and back again
which just unveiled a top-to-toe renovation of its pool deck (along with a new restaurant and other spruced up nuts and bolts)
Bring a stack of books and few plans other than dinner reservations
retirees baking themselves like lizards while flipping through the newspapers
Personal style here leans well-heeled and preppy
With the resort’s 20th anniversary approaching later this year
Hartling saw it as high time for an $18 million redo
which has shed its slightly dated 2000s era look in favor of a more millennial-friendly design sensibility that would look quite at home among the laidback
with high ceilings and plenty of natural light
there are also eight penthouse suites for even more space
The renovations haven’t extended throughout the bedrooms (which possess incredibly comfortable beds made up with 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets) yet—that’s been promised in phase two
This means they’ve so far retained their longstanding washed out ocean and coral tones and mahogany furniture
while befitting of the destination and the certain kind of traveler who frequents it
can feel a little out of step with the times design wise
Penthouse suites also have outdoor showers if you’re the kind of traveler who fancies a rinse below the palm trees
and all suites come with spacious balconies to wind down on after a day of sun
many of which have excellent views of the ocean
The service here is low-key yet omnipresent, with a 24-hour concierge to set up experiences on the water (say snorkeling, or a sunset cruise) and a butler service that will always make sure there’s a cooler of iced water beside your sun lounger at the start of the day. The bartender at L’Attitude Bar, meanwhile, makes a mean martini.
The property features elevators, ramps, and accessible pathways, can accommodate guide pets, and provides beach wheelchairs.

Starship test sent orange-glowing shards streaking over northern Caribbean and forced airlines to divert flights
The US Federal Aviation Administration and officials from the Turks and Caicos Islands have launched investigations into SpaceX’s explosive Starship rocket test that sent debris streaking over the northern Caribbean and forced airlines to divert dozens of flights
“There are no reports of public injury, and the FAA is working with SpaceX and appropriate authorities to confirm reports of public property damage on Turks and Caicos,” said the FAA
which oversees private rocket launch activity
An upgraded version of SpaceX’s Starship exploded in space over the Bahamas roughly eight minutes into the company’s seventh flight test from Texas on Thursday
It sent fields of blazing debris for miles across the sky over Turks and Caicos
Residents on the South and North Caicos islands described to Reuters intense rumbling that shook the ground and said they received messages from friends in North Caicos who found charred pieces of what they believed to be Starship debris
“My mirror and the walls were shaking,” said Veuleiri Artiles
a woman who was working in South Caicos when the debris fell
“It was like when you’re on an airplane ..
“It felt like an earthquake,” said Ibalor Calucin
who lives on the territory’s Providenciales island
all of the people here in our apartment ran to the parking lot.”
There is a “multi-agency investigation that is ongoing” into the Starship explosion
the commissioner of the royal Turks and Caicos Islands police force
He declined to comment on reports of public property damage from the debris
The rumbling was from the many orange-glowing shards of debris from Starship’s explosion that were breaking the sound barrier as they plunged through the atmosphere
sending loud booms thundering across the islands
according to seismic ground sensor data analyzed by Benjamin Fernando
a seismology researcher at Johns Hopkins University
The rumbling in the ground “was about 10mm per second
“That’s a relatively substantial ground motion
The Starship rocket that exploded had multiple new onboard features flying for the first time and carried its first batch of mock satellites that were meant to be deployed in space
SpaceX’s Starship system launched from Boca Chica
Starship separated from its Super Heavy booster as planned at 40 miles (64 km) in altitude
igniting its six engines to blast deeper into space

The rocket was bound for a sub-orbital trajectory around Earth to re-enter the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean and attempt a propulsive landing on the water’s surface
But SpaceX lost communication with the rocket soon after its separation from Super Heavy and later confirmed its demise
“Initial data indicates a fire developed in the aft section of the ship
leading to a rapid unscheduled disassembly,” SpaceX said in a statement on its website

familiarity with beach resorts and the hospitality space
and recommendations from T+L editors and contributors
There are several on-property dining options
and a beachfront pop-up bar and restaurant concept
Smaller resorts may offer a more intimate vacation experience
Grace Bay Club is a huge resort with great family amenities and a spectacular beach
On-site dining options are limited to two outlets: Grace’s Cottage and Hutchings Restaurant
making it perfect for those traveling with small children
The decor and furniture could use an upgrade
The family suites are stylish and comfortable
Guests can use the resort’s complimentary bicycles to explore the nearby town
Travelers seeking an adults-only vacation should consider another property
The roomy suites are ideal for families or those traveling for an extended period of time
The studio room category doesn’t come with a view of the ocean
Wellness is a large focus on the property; the resort has a minimum three-night Wellness Immersion program with personalized physical and mental practices
It’s one of the pricier resorts on the island
You get the space and freedom of renting a beach house paired with the services and amenities of a five-star resort
with the option to have them prepared by a private chef
The decor is beachy and bright without verging into tacky or cliched
There’s not much to see within walking distance of the property
The 7,000-square-foot infinity pool is a crowd favorite
Those travelers staying in the villas will need to use the on-demand complimentary transportation services to reach the resort
It’s glitzier than some of its more boutique-like neighbors
The 12-story resort doesn’t have as strong of a sense of place as some of the non-hotel chain properties in Provo
“is this extra?” when you’re here — most amenities (including alcoholic drinks and the use of a golf cart to get around) are included in the rate
The journey to the property is slightly longer; there’s a complimentary onward flight to Ambergris Cay International Airport from Providenciales International Airport
This property is remote and striking – with an amazing resident population of giant iguanas
Rates are considered “island-inclusive,” meaning you’re also paying for breakfast
The villas come with their own private pools and terraces
The latest addition to the Grace Bay Resorts’ portfolio is more of a boutique operation (especially when compared to the sprawling Grace Bay Club)
range from cozy studios to expansive two-bedroom villas
Interiors are decidedly pared down: vaulted ceilings; furnishings in a muted palette of grays and creams; and sheer
paper-thin curtains evoke the easy-breezy vibe you want from island life
Sometimes the hardest thing about lounging by the pool is the “ouch walk” across the sun-baked pool deck to dip your toes into the cool water
At The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos
they’ve solved that problem for guests with poolside cabanas by situating them right next to mosaic-tiled wading pools leading directly into the pool
shaded cabana with day bed and a dedicated pair of pool loungers located pool front
but it’s also difficult to doze off when you have the white sand of Grace Bay Beach and the aquamarine ocean in your sightline
those are also serviced with food and beverage throughout the day
The hotel is three years old
The tower is the tallest structure on the island
and it’s the first resort flagged by a global hospitality brand
That signature Ritz-Carlton service is there with polish
and fans of the brand will most certainly feel at home here
The resort also takes up a refreshingly small footprint—it’s not one of those sprawling mega properties that require property maps or golf carts to get around
and guests quickly seem to be in society with each other
bonding over sports broadcasts in the sushi bar Noori in the Lobby Lounge (where you can also get luxe sushi featuring Wagyu beef or Alaskan king crab)
There are food and beverage options to sustain and entertain guests throughout the day
Pick up a morning illy coffee and a house-made pastry at Ritual Coffee Culture in the forecourt if you’re active or indulge in a leisurely oceanfront breakfast at Coralli if you’re more the late-and-languid breakfast type
and they come in both dairy and non-dairy versions
perfectly done meatballs (one might almost call them “fluffy”)
lovely seafood and a faithfully rendered beef carpaccio
For guests seeking glitzier steaks and seafood
there’s an outpost of the BLT Steak chain at the front of the resort
The USDA prime beef shines but the sides are also delightful
ranging from jalapeño mashed potatoes (they come out an intriguing shade of green and have a pleasantly spicy botanical flavor) to truffle mac & cheese or perhaps a spicy corn-and-bacon succotash
Guest rooms are Ritz-Carlton “resort” standard
It’s easy to while away a morning sitting on the balcony staring at the ocean
Baths are oversized with rainfall showers and deep soaker tubs complemented with Diptyque Philosykos bath amenities
All but a few of the rooms have at least partial ocean views
and the higher-floor Club rooms and the 9th-floor Club lounge offer the most sweeping views of the sea
is open throughout the day with a dedicated concierge and five food and beverage presentations from breakfast through dessert
The gracious Ritz-Carlton service is also available right on the water
The concierge can arrange a daytime or evening sunset sail on the resort’s own Lady Grace catamaran
The evening sunset sail includes light bites and cocktails
as the boat sails up the coast with splendid sunset views
a good portion of the voyage is spent with the engine off
sail raised and only the sounds of the surf complementing the onboard conversation
The resort is something of a departure from what has traditionally been the lodging option in Turks & Caicos
where intimate resorts done in British Colonial style have long been the norm
A high-rise resort in a rather modernist style with a major brand name over the door is a new concept here but it will be joined by others in the coming months
the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton have succeeded in making it feel like home for the guests who choose this fantastic little slice of tropical Eden for their next Caribbean getaway
