The region has suffered severe flooding caused by heavy rains 
The Unicamp Rectorate expresses its deep solidarity with the residents of Itaquaquecetuba and the region
who are facing the serious consequences of the floods caused by the heavy rains that are ravaging the region
and material and emotional losses that so many families are facing
Unicamp has been actively participating in risk reduction actions in the city
Several professors and students from the University work on the Municipal Risk Reduction Plan (PMRR)
set up with resources from the Ministry of Cities via the National Secretariat for Peripheral Areas and in partnership with the Civil Defense and the City Hall of Itaquaquecetuba
We understand that society as a whole and the University face several challenges in addressing the climate emergency
May the resilience and strength of the Itaquaquecetuba community inspire us all to move forward with hope and determination
Unicamp is with you and will continue to be attentive to the needs of the region
