“Fire and sass from Country Queen @mirandalambert! 🔥 #kerosene #americanidol,” the show’s Instagram captioned her performance
which was also shared on Lambert’s official account
“20 years later it’s still the ripped-jeans
boot-stompin siren song to women & girls across the country
It’s an anthem that says loud & clear
and most importantly ALWAYS stand up for yourself
🔥🔥👊👊💪💪love you Miranda!” wrote one fan
“👏👏👏🔥🔥❤️🙌👏our Texas Queen ❤️❤️❤️❤️👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑,” raved another
One fan questioned another country star’s reaction to Lambert’s performance
if I was Carrie underwood I would have been up on my feet dancing
She looked like she was watching an audition
It’s MIRANDA FREAKING LAMBERT 🔥,” they wrote
“Not just my favourite artist but the most gorgeous woman!!
There aren’t words for how your music has carried me through so much
Love you Miranda❤️❤️,” another one raved
another fan wasn’t that impressed and questioned the use of the title “country queen” for Lambert
So how is Miranda the queen when Reba is still breathing?
Miranda isn’t the queen and if anyone can replace Reba it’s Lainey Wilson
Miranda Lambert was there for a two-hour drag tribute to her legacy in Austin
at one point taking the microphone to let anyone in attendance know they'd moved her
"This is the best night ever," Lambert says
with husband Brendan McLaughlin watching from behind
A 42-second clip was shared to social media
but much of her speech is inaudible because of the cheering and celebrating
She does give her brother Luke a couple warm hugs before ending her speech
She received his permission to post photos from a Pride parade in November of 2019
and since then she's been supportive of the LGBTQ+ community
as well as of Lambert and her crew enjoying the drag performances
The night was labeled a Drag Tribute to Miranda Lambert
and it was held at the club Rain on 4th in Austin
A poster shows a host named Vylette Ward and three performers
but this wasn't a lookalike show per se
A performer seen in the above video was rocking dark hair
Lambert has kept a fairly low profile since releasing her Postcards From Texas album last September. That will change in May when she begins her tour with Morgan Wallen
She's also got a few fair and festival dates on her calendar for 2025
On May 8, look for Lambert to perform at the 2025 ACM Awards in Frisco
but she is the most awarded artist in the history of the show
so she's a fitting singer for the 60th anniversary ceremony

The Minnesota Twins have optioned third baseman Jose Miranda to Triple-A St. Paul, according to the transaction section of his official MLB page
This came nearly immediately after a game in which Miranda made a pretty terrible mental error
in which Miranda was ruled safe but appeared to assume he was out
Umpire called Jose Miranda safe, saying the fielder didn't touch the base to get the forceout. But then Miranda just walked away and got tagged out anyway. pic.twitter.com/rtgSBNKcDU
"Jose has to do better on that play. (Colt Keith) wasn't on the bag and Jose didn't make it to the bag on the slide either way," Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said after the game (via The Athletic)
We have to be paying attention and never allow something like that to happen."
The Twins went on to lose 4-0 and now sit 4-11 on the season
It's a continuation of them losing 27 of their final 39 games in 2024
falling out of the playoff race during September
Miranda is hitting .167/.167/.250 and did have one minor-league option left on his contract
so this demotion likely isn't solely due to the baserunning gaffe

All Fours by Miranda July (Canongate)
The Persians by Sanam Mahloudji (4th Estate)
Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout (Viking)

and ultimately delivers a thrilling story”
Nussaibah Younis was shortlisted for Fundamentally, about an academic who accepts a UN job in Iraq and is tasked with rehabilitating Isis women. “Younis tackles radicalism and racism, faith and friendship, with dexterity, deep care and a large dose of laughter”, wrote Sana Goyal in her Guardian review
Aria Aber made the list for Good Girl, a coming-of-age story following Nila, a daughter of Afghan refugees growing up in Berlin. “Good Girl is a must-read about the complexities of Afghan sexuality, family, shame, poverty and power,” wrote Dina Nayeri in the Guardian
Completing the shortlist is The Persians by Sanam Mahloudji, a multigenerational story of five women from a once-illustrious Iranian family. “Mahloudji writes with a wisdom and confidence rarely seen in a debut, and her sharp observations are humorous and poignant,” wrote Joanna Cannon in her Guardian review.

Home » Can you help find Miranda Matott
From Laura Ann Matott
I’m from Wellsville NY and this is my beautiful daughter
This is really hard for me to post this on here because I don’t like posting personal business on FB any more
But I don’t know what else I can do at this point
She was living with my son and his gf in Augusta Georgia
On January 25th Miranda walked out of their house but didn’t say where she was going
My son assumed she would be back because she left her dog behind
After a couple of weeks we assumed she was staying at a hotel or an Airbnb
Miranda has a history of mental health and addiction challenges
I’m not going into to many details but just letting people know why we are worried about her well being
On February 19th I received a phone call from a hotel in Miami Florida
The gentleman that I spoke with wanted to inform me that Miranda was staying there and had left before her check out time but left her phone and laptop and a small bag of clothes
She hasn’t contacted her brother at all
We do know she was in the Miami hospital at one point
Yes we contacted the Miami police to report her missing but we pretty much got nothing from them
We contacted the Augusta Georgia police and they were very helpful but can only do so much because she’s in Miami(potentially)
I’m asking everyone to share and ask their people to share to see if we can at least see of anyone has seen her
So if everyone could please just share this maybe it will reach one person that has seen her
If there is any info please pm me on Facebook here or email: lauralot2006@yahoo.com
Miranda doesn’t use social media and she uses burner phones
So texting her or messaging her doesn’t work
Chris Brooks weekend sports report: Wellsville tennis opens with win; Fillmore rolls
MINNEAPOLIS — Less than an hour after Saturday’s shutout loss to the Detroit Tigers dropped the Minnesota Twins’ record to 4-11
a league source tells The Athletic the Twins are demoting struggling third baseman Jose Miranda to Triple-A St
Miranda hit .167 with 13 strikeouts and zero walks in 12 games
with his struggles standing out even within a lineup full of slumping hitters
but his base-running blunder Saturday might have been the final straw
With the Twins down 4-0 in the eighth inning and Miranda on first base
Christian Vázquez hit a chopper to Detroit Tigers first baseman Spencer Torkelson
umpire Malachi Moore ruled that second baseman Colt Keith’s foot never touched the base
calling Miranda safe to give the Twins a chance for a rally
But there was one big problem: Miranda assumed he was out
stopped his slide before touching second base and then casually started to walk back to the dugout
at which point Keith tagged him for the delayed out
saying the fielder didn’t touch the base to get the forceout
But then Miranda just walked away and got tagged out anyway

— Aaron Gleeman (@aarongleeman.bsky.social) April 12, 2025 at 3:23 PM
who had already reduced Miranda’s playing time
“Jose has to do better on that play,” Baldelli said
“The guy on the other side of the field was not on the bag
and Jose didn’t make it to the bag on the slide either way
We have to be paying attention there and never allow something like that to happen.”
“It’s just a learning thing,” Miranda said
No corresponding roster move has been announced
but the Twins are expected to activate infielder Brooks Lee from the injured list to replace Miranda
a 2022 first-round pick and former consensus top-50 prospect
has been rehabbing a spring training back injury in St
going 3-for-10 in three games before a day off Saturday
Miranda seemingly had a breakout first half last season, hitting .326 with an .888 OPS in 76 games through the All-Star break, including a record-setting streak of 12 consecutive at-bats with a hit in early July
he took a big step backward in the second half
hitting just .212 with a .543 OPS in 45 games
and those struggles intensified early this season
Miranda once looked like a lineup building block for the Twins and is only 26
but inconsistent production and a lack of plate discipline combined with limited fielding skills have made him difficult to rely on as an everyday player
even with starting third baseman Royce Lewis sidelined by a hamstring injury
And with the Twins off to a 4-11 start that’s tied for the worst record in team history through 15 games
Baldelli hinted Saturday at the possibility of changes that could “shock” and “wake up” the underperforming roster
“You’ve got to shock yourself sometimes and wake yourself up sometimes,” Baldelli said
“We might be pretty close to that because we’ve got to play better baseball
That could be one way of shaking it up a little bit.”
Miranda has played poorly enough — at the plate
in the field and on the bases — to warrant the demotion
but sending down a former top prospect with 298 games and 1,100 plate appearances of big-league experience spanning parts of four seasons certainly qualifies as a shock to the Twins’ system

has not returned to her Nashville bar after he was caught grinding with other women despite once being a regular at the eatery
Miranda, 41, has been married to her husband Brendan
as they tied the knot after just three months of dating
In June 2024, Miranda’s husband was caught on camera grinding and getting close to women at his wife’s Nashville
The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal Brendan has not been to the bar since the video leaked
“Miranda’s husband used to come in all of the time,” a source told The U.S
The last time he was in here three or four people asked for his photo and he was like
Miranda had been “cool about him going to the bar."
Miranda herself comes in “at random,” but fans likely won’t meet the country singer
as she stays in the back to make sure the bar and restaurant are in order
A month before the video leaked, The U.S. Sun reported how Brendan was a regular at the Broad street bar.

Brendan was born and raised in Staten Island

he retired from law enforcement and settled down with her in Tennessee
In June, The U.S. Sun obtained the videos taken by a fan of Brendan at Casa Rosa getting close to women on the dance floor
a woman could be seen grinding on Brendan as he danced with her
the same woman wrapped her arms around his neck and grabbed his face as she talked to him
Other clips showed Brendan dancing closely with another woman
The U.S. Sun spoke to an eyewitness at the time

Lin-Manuel Miranda is working on a project about the Molina Brothers
who are connected to the Giants in a significant way
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s got a brand new joint on the way
made with love — not on a dare — about the three Molina brothers: Jose
That’s right. America’s Top Theater Kid is developing a new film about the Molina brothers
“I’ll tell you something I’m working on: the Molina brothers, who are from my dad’s hometown of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico [“long known as... ‘the Village of the Squatters.’”]
an appalling number of Major League Baseball players..
So to be able to honor that in a movie is something we’re really actively trying to do.”
Well, Bengie Molina is the oldest of the Catching Molina’s. The Forever Giant played in San Francisco from 2007 through part of 2010, when the Giants traded him to the Texas Rangers
after he and the Rangers lost the World Series to the Giants and the catcher who compelled his being traded in the first place: Buster Posey
Stands to reason that the end of Bengie Molina’s baseball career might include a Posey reference
and if there’s a chance that this is a musical
then there might be a signing and dancing Buster Posey coming to movie screens some day
I’ll admit I’m interested in seeing them both on the silver screen
There have been many memorable days and nights here in the McCovey Chronicles community
One of those was the day Brian Sabean traded Bengie Molina to the Texas Rangers so that Buster Posey could finally become the team’s everyday catcher
It happened while the team was midflight
There may or may not have been a comment that was simply the poster for the movie Operation Dumbo Drop
It’s not that Bengie Molina wasn’t a Good Giant
but Buster Posey was promised as the future
and Bruce Bochy was intent upon holding off that future for as long as Molina was on the roster
Oh yes, there was much discussion about Bochy’s track record for sticking with veterans. The Vinny Castilla situation absolutely came up in those days
Bochy was enraged during a trip to Washington
when asked by a front-office official why he was continuing to play Castilla
Bochy relayed that Castilla was his best option and he would continue to play him
Q: Do you believe Posey is ready to catch this staff
and he’s going to do all right for this team
I think this is his time to get these guys ready to go
He is very humble and that’s going to help a lot
Yadier Molina and Buster Posey were in reputational competition with each other through their playing careers
with Cardinals fans and a lot of the East Coast-based media firmly on the “Yadi is the best catcher ever” train for a good long while and it took Posey some time to break through that
Not that Yadier Molina isn’t a probable Hall of Famer
Does all of this background add up to some good songs or sequence in a potential movie
I can imagine a lot of different versions of the story
A musical with a Christopher Nolan structure of cross-cutting through time so that the Molina Brothers win their World Serieses at the same point in the movie
Three vignettes linked by a framing device — because they’re catchers
I don’t think there will be a song where a woman sings
I just met a boy named Molinaaaaa!” but maybe a song of frustration where Bengie knows his time is winding down and there’s Buster Posey darting around the clubhouse talking about his exciting and unknown future
Or reporters who flocked to Yadier suddenly rushing over to Buster once he hits the scene
Posey as quasi-villain in a movie musical about the Molina Brothers
we lost our beloved Aleida Fidalgo Miranda
Anyone who knew Aleida knew the joy and love that she brought into the lives of so many people whose lives she touched
Her radiant smile brightened up every room she entered while her contagious laughter left a beautiful imprint on your heart that will resonate in us forever
Aleida believed in the gift of giving for she knew that it was more of a blessing to give than to receive
friend and a beautiful soul who would help anyone
She was that favorite aunt who loved her niece and nephew fiercely
“Family is Everything.” That was her motto
Aleida had a great sense of pride when it came to her family
They were her heart and soul and the center of her world and during her illness Aleida knew that it was her family’s love and prayers that would be her strength
As a woman of great faith she would often say
“I have left it in the Lord’s hands.” And so she did
For that reason she was always forthright and honest
And this unique quality is what people admired
Aleida loved to read books and was captivated by books of all types of genres
She was also a planner and she took pride in researching and helping her cousins and friends in planning trips and finding new recipes
to the point that she would inundate you with texts and emails with various options and ideas
Aleida is survived by her mother Sabina Fidalgo
Brie and Jonah Miranda and her father Manuel Miranda
her strength and perseverance and the love that she encompassed for each and every one of us will give us the courage to move forward despite this void that we feel
We will always cherish the immense joy she brought to our lives
She will never be forgotten and her memory will live in our hearts forever
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick Church
Visiting Hours will be held at Saint Patrick Church on Thursday
I am so saddened to learn about Aleida's passing I worked with her at Brigham & Women's
and hope her family finds peace in knowing her kindness left an impression on me and others
Aleida and I were colleagues in OTE and graduated together in the class of 1999 at Boston College
The last time I saw Aleida we were reminiscing on college days with Joanne over brunch in 2023
You earned your wings and I know you are now watching over all those that loved and cared for you
I am deeply saddened by the passing of such a beautiful

Miranda's goal: Play 162 -- wherever Twins want himFebruary 26th
FORT MYERS, Fla. – The biggest question regarding Jose Miranda is what position he will play in 2025
Twins manager Rocco Badelli hasn't decided
Minnesota has seen Miranda play the infield corner spots, but third base belongs to Royce Lewis, and Ty France appears to be the front-runner to be the Opening Day first baseman
“[Miranda] is a guy that we need to come up big for us at different points of the year,” Baldelli said
“He is in the category of a handful of guys that we have
You can’t sit here and put your thumb on exactly what he will be asked to do
but it is a mental challenge more than anything else.”
“I just want to be in the lineup every day
[The Twins] are the ones that make the lineup
Miranda – who played 121 games in 2024 – started last season with Triple-A St
but after returning to the Major Leagues on April 7
Miranda had an impressive slash line of .325/.366/.522 with 43 RBIs
The highlight of Miranda’s first half came in early July. From his eighth-inning single on July 3 against the Tigers to his fourth-inning single on July 6 against the Astros, Miranda hit safely in 12 straight at-bats, tying the Major League record shared by Johnny Kling (1902)
Pinky Higgins (1938) and Walt Dropo (1952)
and I was doing damage at the plate,” Miranda said
But Miranda’s good fortune came to a halt when he suffered a lower back strain three days before the All-Star break
He went on the injured list for almost two weeks starting on July 14
and his consistency at the plate disappeared after he returned to action
Miranda had a slash line of .212/.242/.301 with six RBIs
The back issues played a role in Miranda’s slump
and his mechanics in the batter’s box were out of sync once he returned to The Show
my moves [in the batter’s box] didn’t feel the same because of the back
but my [mechanics] at the plate didn’t feel the same as the first half
playing hard and trying to help the team win.”
Miranda spent this past offseason trying to recreate that magic swing that made him the Twins’ first-half MVP
I have put up numbers to play every day,” Miranda said
As fall 2025 collections make their way down the runway
I’m reminded of one of the most iconic film monologues of all time — Miranda Priestly’s “cerulean monologue” from “The Devil Wears Prada.” If you’re unfamiliar
editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine (inspired by Vogue and Anna Wintour), explains to her assistant the trickle-down effect of the fashion industry
emphasizing that no one is “exempt” from its influence
people love to dismiss fashion as something reserved for the ultra-rich
influencers and celebrities or those who are chronically online
whether you care about runway trends or not
they undoubtedly impact what’s available in stores
what your favorite celebrities are wearing and
the fashion director for The New York Times, put it best: “‘The Devil Wears Prada’ argument … [holds] true: In a world where everything goes into the Instagram soup and from there seeps into the cultural digestive system
what might appear on a runway in the Musée Rodin (where Dior holds its shows) in July will affect what H&M does in August.” In other words
the pipeline from high fashion to fast fashion has never been more direct
Social media has made this transition nearly instantaneous. A collection debuts
fast-fashion brands replicate it and suddenly
that niche runway piece or trend is available online and can be delivered to your home in 4–7 business days.
Fashion’s influence doesn’t just apply to the elite — it quietly shapes the choices we all make
Even if you don’t follow runway shows or obsess over the latest designer collections
Even if we’re just picking up a pair of jeans from a chain store
what we’re holding in our hands is part of a larger
I get it — some runway looks feel so over-the-top that it’s hard to imagine their real-world relevance
But Fashion Week is not just about selling a specific outfit off the runway. It’s about setting the tone for what’s to come and telling a story through clothing
out-of-the-box designs often become influences for the everyday pieces you see at more accessible brands like H&M
The exaggerated shoulders and leather trenches might seem extreme on the catwalk
and you’ll find wearable versions everywhere
Ignoring fashion and looking down on it does not mean it won’t affect you
it just means you’ll unknowingly participate in trends instead of understanding them
Just look at the Y2K revival — something that started as a nod to the early 2000s is now fully mainstream
shaping everything from denim styles to sneaker choices
if you’ve ever scoffed at Fashion Week or dismissed designer collections as irrelevant
just remember: Miranda Priestly was correct
The fashion industry already decided what you’ll be wearing next year — you might as well start paying attention
We tested the five KORA Organics products Miranda Kerr swears by—some lived up to the hype
I still remember the first time I saw Miranda Kerr in a Victoria’s Secret campaign—ethereal
and Kerr’s image is still luminous—but now it’s backed by something more grounded: a clean beauty empire rooted in certified-organic formulations and her own lived experience
When ELLE India got an exclusive sit-down with Kerr to celebrate KORA Organics' launch in India, I wasn’t going to just nod along. I wanted to know what really makes her glow, what products she personally uses—and, of course, whether they actually work for someone who doesn’t live in Malibu or get facials between meetings
So I asked her to share her top five KORA picks
And then I did what any self-respecting beauty editor would—I put them to the test
This wasn’t about calling everything a holy grail
It was about meeting Miranda Kerr in the middle: her ritual
Just: “These five products keep my skin balanced
She speaks with the ease of someone who’s lived this ritual
“The Noni Glow Face Oil has been my holy grail for years,” she said
“And the Milky Mushroom Mask is what I end my day with—it seals everything in.”
I wanted to understand that ritual beyond the marketing, what it looked like in practice. Her top cleanser? The Active Algae Calming Cleansing Balm. “It melts makeup, SPF, stress—everything. And it smells beautiful.”
The rose quartz roller is cooling—it’s part of the ritual.”
“It gives me that at-home facial feeling when I need a boost.”
it can go from glazed-doughnut to greasy-fast
lit-from-within vibe without needing blotting sheets
aromatic balm that melts off the day without leaving a film
but it cushions your skin after a long week of using too many actives or new products (guilty)
I layered it on post-retinol and woke up with skin that looked genuinely rested
Not in a “banish all signs of fatigue” way
but in a “you look less dead behind the eyes” way
I’ve popped this in the fridge for now - and it seems like this is the one thing I would consistently look forward to using
Kerr told me this one came straight from the heart
“It was the first product I created—for myself
“My grandmother introduced me to Noni when I was 13
That’s when I realised—this isn’t a brand built in a boardroom
that happen to come in very aesthetic packaging
Kerr’s glow isn’t just good genes. It’s habit, hydration, and skin listening. Do I love all five products
KORA isn’t fantasy skincare—it’s ritual skincare
Kerr’s routine reminds you to slow down—and that might just be where the glow starts
It’ll be Ladies Night this Sunday on American Idol
and Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood are inviting one of their contemporaries to lead the way: Miranda Lambert
Miranda will be the mentor on this episode
and she’ll also perform the title track of her debut album
Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest will also continue the task of narrowing the Top 10 down to the Top 8

MINNEAPOLIS -- A bit of a shakeup came Sunday for the 4-11 Twins
a day after manager Rocco Baldelli suggested that the club might need a “shock” in response to the early struggles
Prior to Sunday’s series finale against the Tigers, the Twins reinstated infielder Brooks Lee from the 10-day injured list and optioned Jose Miranda to Triple-A St
Baldelli shuffled his lineup for the first time against a right-hander this year
moving Edouard Julien into the leadoff spot
Matt Wallner from first to fourth and giving Carlos Correa his first day off of the young season
Lee missed the Twins’ first 15 games of the season with a lumbar strain
He’s a versatile defender who can play multiple positions
but will probably see the most time at third base for the time being while Royce Lewis continues to recover from a left hamstring strain
maybe he can spark us some,” Baldelli said
“But Brooks is a guy that we’re not afraid to challenge
Lee, who was selected eighth overall in the 2022 MLB Draft and was MLB Pipeline’s No. 18 prospect entering the 2024 season, made his debut last July and proceeded to post a .221/.265/.320 slash with three homers and 27 RBIs in 50 games for the Twins
He got off to a strong start before fading
and believes he has learned from the experience
“I think I’ve got to stay within myself,” he said
I think last year I kind of got away from that
Miranda started nine of the Twins’ first 15 games at the hot corner but struggled at the plate
hitting .167 with one homer and 13 strikeouts in 36 plate appearances
He also made a fielding error on Thursday and committed a baserunning gaffe during Saturday’s game
walking away from second base despite initially being ruled safe on a force play with the Twins down
While Lee figures primarily to play third for now
he allows Baldelli significantly increased flexibility in lineup choices and in-game moves
which frees up Willi Castro to be available all over the field
Castro has primarily played second base in the early going
the club’s other infield options besides Correa were limited defensively
Festa gets another startIn something of a surprise, the Twins announced Sunday that David Festa will get a second start next week against the Mets
with the club staying on turn through the remainder of the homestand
Joe Ryan and Bailey Ober will start Monday and Tuesday
with Festa going on Wednesday before an off-day Thursday

There had been strong indications that instead
the Twins would call up righty Zebby Matthews from Triple-A to start Monday’s game
“Just where everybody else is at in our rotation
it made sense to get him in there in that spot,” Baldelli said

Share on FacebookShare on X (formerly Twitter)Share on PinterestShare on LinkedInCHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - It is so much fun to be able to combine the two things I love most in my professional life: theater and TV!
Hi everyone, Kristen Miranda here! I am excited to give you a little behind-the-scenes info on a big project I’ve been working on with my new work family, and my former work family.
As you may know, I spent about 17 years as a reporter, anchor, and lifestyle host at WBTV before leaving last fall to try something new. Now I work at Blumenthal Arts, an outstanding not-for-profit organization in the center of Uptown, which operates four theater venues and our brand new Blume Studios, and brings the largest Broadway season in the Carolinas to our community.
It is that new Broadway season that brought a team from Blumenthal and a team from WBTV to New York City recently.
On April 14, we’ll officially announce the PNC Broadway Lights, Equitable Bravo and Extras seasons -- 17 amazing Broadway shows that are coming straight to Charlotte and our stages.
This is an exciting time, with Broadway fans on the edges of their seats waiting to see which shows they can snag tickets for here in Charlotte. I’ve known the list for a while now, and as a total Broadway geek myself, I am nearly jumping out of my skin to tell you about them!
We could have simply released the list, but we wanted to do more this year. That’s why we’re working with WBTV on an hour-long, super informative and exciting season announcement special.
We’re calling it “Blumenthal Arts Presents: From Broadway to Charlotte.” You’ll get to see it on the Blumenthal Arts YouTube channel and on WBTV and its digital channels starting April 14, 2025.

Yes, we will share with you the whole list of shows coming to town, but there’s more. We were in New York City to talk to the creative teams behind those shows, getting insight into the “can’t miss” moments, and how the productions came to be. I was having so many “pinch me” moments with the people I had a chance to talk with. You’ll love hearing from them!
We’ll also introduce you to some brilliant young local folks who attended Charlotte-area high schools, have deep roots in Blumenthal Arts and its mission, and are now thriving in the theater scene in New York. That includes two young men getting standing ovations and breaking hearts in big, bold musicals.
You’ll also learn more about the nonprofit work we do every day to support students, teachers, artists, and community members who are life-long learners. Raising money to support these programs is a big part of my job, and it makes my heart so big to see the impact your dollars have on growing these programs.
Stay tuned for more details, hints, and exciting moments from the show before it debuts. I can’t wait to see you again soon!

“I am graduating from the University of Utah in finance this spring, so I applied to the Fulbright Binational Business Program in Mexico
I have always been passionate about international business and my family comes from Mexico
Not only do I want to have a better understanding of international business and the relationship between the U.S
but I also want to learn more about Mexican culture
I think immersion will be the best way to do that
When I came to the U, I knew I wanted to study business, but I hadn’t picked a specific field yet. Thanks to programs like Goff Scholars and Opportunity Scholars
I connected with mentors who helped me learn about finance
Investing has always fascinated me and I wanted to understand how investments can set people up for secure futures
I now want to share that knowledge with others
especially people who live in underdeveloped parts of the world like Mexico
because it’s clear that the intersection between finance and technology is an important part of the future
I interned with the medical device company Medtronic
Here I learned more about financial planning analysis and I really enjoyed that
I want to work full-time at some kind of tech company
I started my Fulbright application a little later than I should have, but the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships provided me crucial support that helped me be selected as a Semi-finalist
They reviewed my essays and helped me understand what the Fulbright interview process would look like through a mock interview
Whether or not I am selected as a Fulbright
the essay process provided a meaningful opportunity for me to reflect on everything I’ve done since my first year of college
It also made me think about what I want to do in the future
that is to provide value for wherever I work and the people I interact with.”
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonel Armando Miranda
where his journey began—a journey colored with love
Leonel is preceded in death by his cherished parents
and Jesus Raul Miranda “Chapulin” with partner Marisa Salazar
His legacy continues through nine beloved grandchildren: Vianney
Leonel filled the lives of those around him with joy and adventure
Leon had a special affinity for the sounds of Harley motorcycles
he also had a profound affection for horses and was known for his generosity and kindness—always willing to lend a listening ear or offer a warm embrace
we take comfort in the thought that this is not goodbye; rather
it is a heartfelt "see you later" until we meet again
Leonel's family will welcome friends and loved ones for a visitation on Friday
at Harkey Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
A Celebration of Life will be held the same day
Flowers can be sent to Harkey Funeral Home
As we gather in spirit to honor his incredible life
we are reminded of the words in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Leon will be with us always

Apr 16, 2025Miranda Lambertis taking a trip down memory lane
The video—uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday
April 16—began with Lambert looking back on a photo taken roughly 20 years ago that showed her wearing a denim mini skirt
"Look at her little mini skirt," Lambert
before noting that her younger self had "no cellulite."
The next pic featured Lambert on stage, rocking a loose, tousled hairstyle that made her say
My hair's the same today" as she reminisced on the old pic
In another flashback photo from her "Kerosene Era," a younger Lambert posed on a wooden porch
"Who's this sweet little angel?" Lambert asked
"She gone!" in reference to her younger
"She way gone!" she repeated through laughter
"The same but different 🔥" Lambert captioned her Instagram post on Wednesday while counting down the days until her debut album is released on vinyl "for the first time ever" in celebration of its 20th anniversary
