The Chess Federation of Bahia and the Itaberabense Chess Club promote the Itaberaba Chess Festival on October 28th and 29th The Chess Festival is an opportunity for the development of chess in the territories of Chapada Diamantina in Piemonte do Paraguaçu Festival participants will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting rapid 10+5 chess and simultaneous chess exhibition with IM Roberto Molina (Minas Gerais) GM Everaldo Matsuura (São Paulo) and FIDE CM  Luciano Zallio and Jayme Miranda (Bahia) Bahia is a State of Brazil as large as France Atlantic Forest and the Coastal and Marine biomes indigenous peoples were subjected to Portuguese colonization millions of African people were slaved to work in plantationsand Nature was exploited to serve foreig interests several internal conflitcs took place and at the end few people concentrate power and resouces This led to a diverse but also an unequal society Unfortunately 12 of the 50 most violent cities of Brazil are in Bahia The Itaberaba Chess Festival will be at the forefront of taking a step towards guaranteeing the participants rights by expressing in its regulations that harassment discrimination and offenses are subject to punishment and IA and IO Kaiser Mafra recognize that the Festival is pioneer in Brazil in that matter The topic of sports discipline and ethics is an issue that has gained more relevance in international sports with several cases of allegations being publicized The Bahian Chess Federation and the Itaberabense Chess Club were open to discuss with the Brazilian Women's Chess League ideas to improve regulations to build together a more respectful environment for everyone A move forward to the build a more equal society The Chess Federation of Bahia was founded in 1960 and is the highest entity of chess in Bahia the first Brazilian to win the title of international female chess master seven-time Brazilian and two-time South American champion represented the country five times in the category's Olympics The Federation is associated with the Brazilian Chess Conferedation The Clube Itaberabense de Chess is a dynamic team that holds weekly tournaments transmitted in live streaming since November 2020 It currently has more than 1300 participants The Brazilian Women's Chess League is an independent movement that began in 2013 with the aim of publicizing promoting and bringing together women chess players and those involved in chess in Brazil This is a space for articulation and dialogue between amateur and professional chess players that aims to create a strengthened community that seeks solutions to transform national chess so that it truly becomes an absolute space Itaberaba Chess Festival [Website]Date: October 28th and 29th The event is supported the European Physical Society Internationally renowned for her work in quantum mechanics physicist Cristiane de Morais Smith often compares the field to cubism an artistic movement best known for the works of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) “Both emerged at the beginning of the twentieth century and both offer multiple ways of observing the same object,” says the researcher who uses this visual metaphor to describe the various perspectives of reality that characterize her field of knowledge Morais Smith has been teaching and leading a research group at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of Utrecht University in the Netherlands since 2004 she won the Emmy Noether Award from the European Physical Society The award recognized her contributions to the theory of condensed matter systems and ultracold atoms to unveil novel quantum states of matter among other reasons because the scientist whose name it bears [1882–1935] made great contributions to physics Morais Smith’s aptitude for physics was first noticed when she was 13 years old during a class on kinematics at school in her hometown of Paraguaçu Paulista in the state of São Paulo “I managed to solve a problem that was considered difficult for my age group It was then that I  decided I wanted to learn more,” she says when she started her undergraduate degree in physics at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) Morais Smith was intrigued by quantum mechanics after attending classes by Amir Caldeira capable of describing strange phenomena that happen on an atomic scale.” During her master’s degree in quantum mechanics at UNICAMP Morais Smith’s work involved describing dissipative quantum systems which included a period at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) that the physicist’s international career took off described the dissipative dynamics of vortices in high-temperature superconductors As well as using cubism as a metaphor for a field that most people see as highly abstract Morais Smith also likes to say that she studies electron sociology “The way these particles interact is comparable to human beings in society electrons behave differently than when they are alone,” she explains the electron is no longer just a marble that hits another and then disperses In addition to studies using quantum simulators and graphene considered an excellent conductor of electricity the research group led by Morais Smith was responsible for creating the first quantum fractal a structure that could reveal new types of electron behavior Defined as standardized shapes that recur to produce an image of the whole “The discovery offers new ways of studying quantum wires and the intermediate dimension of electronic systems,” she adds © Revista Pesquisa FAPESP - All rights reserved These projects were undertaken during the course of 2014 with the final project being completed in December A total 2,824 sq m (30,397 sq ft) of SPS Overlay has been installed on the three vessels Intelligent Engineering (IE) sought approval from DNV to install SPS Overlay on boat landing areas adjacent to the cargo oil tanks of the vessels This work was required to meet the low energy impact resistance requirements of IMO MARPOL Annex I Requirements for FPSOs and FSUs The use of SPS Overlay creates a compact double side shell that exceeds these regulatory requirements confirmed in 2007 that the use of SPS Overlay exceeds the requirements for the design collision scenario of a 5,000-metric-ton (5,511-ton) displacement of an offshore supply vessel (OSV) colliding with an FPSO SPS Overlay has been used on 12 FPSOs to provide side shell impact protection Its use eliminates the need to install cofferdams or a double hull Void spaces that would have required through-life inspection and maintenance can now be used to store more cargo Construction Week Online Home » Products and Services » Restorative surgery for Manitowoc veteran EnCORE has rebuilt a 1970s Manitowoc crawler crane owned by engineering and construction firm Odebrecht The Manitowoc 4000W has been working at the Estaleiro Paraguaçu shipyard in the city of Salvador which is the business name for Manitowoc Crane Care’s remanufacturing arm worked from its Passo Fundo manufacturing facility to give the veteran crane a second lease of life said: “We were able to completely rebuild the Manitowoc 4000W for Odebrecht reliable crane and hopefully giving it another 38 years of dependable service.” Odebrecht wanted to keep its 38-year-old 4000W in service due a number of its particularly useful features boasts a freefall system that can be used for pile-driving applications the long-standing Manitowoc customer values the crane’s easy maintenance and familiar mechanisms “It’s always a great pleasure to serve such an important customer by saving them time “Odebrecht found great use out of this Manitowoc 4000W which is no surprise because it’s a great crane and now the company will be able to use it for many more years to come.” EnCORE had to perform a large number of tasks during the course of the renovation project including disassembling and inspecting the machine and remanufacturing the crane’s boom hoist In addition to allowing Odebrecht to continue using its favourite old-timer EnCORE’s refurbishment cost just a quarter of the price of a new crane saving the customer a significant amount of money
