Second-team All-Pro left tackle Jordan Mailata has been the crown jewel of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program
365-pound Mailata is the star student of “Stoutland University
has turned into arguably the best LT tackle in the world with the help of Philadelphia’s well-regarded offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland
Mailata has already received two different $60 million extensions since arriving to IMG Academy for his first football training in 2018
Mailata’s history in Australia was as a second-unit professional rugby player for the Russell Crowe-owned South Sydney Rabbitohs
the Eagles dipped into the IPP well again last season with another Australian offensive tackle candidate
was discovered by Eagles’ international scout Chris Naeole after a chance meeting with Vakalahi’s father in Hawaii
who informed Naeole just how big his two sons were
Vakalahi spent last season as the Eagles’ IPP exemption on the practice squad and has again gotten the IPP exemption for a second straight year as Stoutland tries to get lightning to strike twice on the offensive line
The latest foray by the Eagles and the rugby world is the 21-year-old Carsen Patu
The Philadelphia Eagles have invited former Manly Sea Eagles under-21 (Jersey Flegg) player Carsen Patu to rookie minicamp. The 6'1" 243lbs former rugby league front-rower comes through Conquest Athletic Performance, who worked with #Eagles practice squad player Laekin Vakalahi
a former rugby player for Manly Sea Eagles under-21 team
has been extended an invitation to Philadelphia’s rookie camp this weekend as a tryout player
Patu worked with Conquest Athletic Performance in Australia to prepare for his NFL dream
a group that also worked with Vakalahi before he caught on with the Eagles

With a deadly pandemic hovering over the world
the focus of every government has shifted to tackling it and finding a cure for it
Speaking at the BW HOTELIER Webinar: Breaking The Pandemic 'Getting Indian Hospitality Back..
Lemon Tree Hotels Chairman and Managing Director
pointed out that for the first time in history
pharmaceutical company and laboratory is focused on finding a cure for the novel coronavirus
He was optimistic that a cure would be available within the coming two to two-and-a-half years with the kind of technology and knowledge humans possess today
The Indian government is known to do ‘too little
we can try our very best but we should expect too little.”
I see destruction of demand and the next year ‒ revival of domestic demand to a small extent
I see that if you don’t have a liquidity quotient
which means a lot of hotels will shut down because of lack of support from the government
And this will lead to long-term supply destruction,” he added
Referring to the 14th and 17th century incidents of pandemics
he pointed out that a third of humanity had been wiped out in the plagues
the Spanish flu which occurred in the 1920s during the World War
with 50 million casualties and India itself had 10 million deaths,” Keswani reminded the audience
2.5 billion will get infected and 250 million will die
It is a question of scale and how we react
we have reacted because of the instant communication systems that we have ‒ but I would like to remind you that humanity has always overcome,” he stated
Keswani emphasised that the pandemic is a wave and that till there is a cure
there will be no travel or marginal travel
There will be utter demand destruction at least till the end of this calendar year
Till then we need to do things to drop costs.”
Lemon Tree Hotels has decided to not lay off any associate but take massive salary cuts at the leader level and to make timely payments to MSME vendors of the group
Keswani has reportedly decided not to take salary for three months and other leaders of his team too have taken pay cuts of 50 per cent to 65 per cent
Keswani preferred to look at the future in an optimistic and positive manner
He felt that a cure for the novel coronavirus would emerge in the coming year and that a cure would be known and domestic travel would resume after that
He said his only concern was a constraint on airlines which may prevent them from resuming services
I am predicting that social distancing will go out of the window and we will revert to normal
just like what happened after the Spanish flu
we must learn to retweak the cost ratios that we have got and use them successfully to be more efficient,” Keswani said

A Te Aroha man battling cancer was attacked with a patu six months before he died
A man battling terminal cancer was beaten with a patu outside his Te Aroha home six months before he died
was heartbroken at having to spend the final months of his life severely impacted by his injuries
Before the 60-year-old died, he wrote a statement in preparation for the sentencing of his attacker
He died three months after penning his thoughts
which gave a tragic insight into what he’d been through
A drunken Butler had been out walking his dog when he stopped outside the victim’s house on the night of December 13
he “loudly and aggressively” banged on the victim’s door and within minutes
While the 31-year-old may not have known the victim’s precarious state
Judge Kim Saunders told him in the Hamilton District Court this week
“His last six months on this earth were always going to be difficult because he was terminally ill
When the victim opened the door to the stranger who was aggressively knocking
The court heard the force used appeared to be minor
Butler grappled with the victim and wrestled him to the ground
He got hold of the patu and used it to repeatedly strike the victim in the head
and the victim tried to stand but collapsed back on to the ground
The onslaught continued as Butler rained down blows with the patu
the victim was kicked and punched to the head and body by Butler
who then dragged him by his clothes across the footpath and into the house
The victim was not resisting and appeared to be a “dead weight”
It’s not known what happened inside the house
but the victim’s phone was missing and Butler was seen throwing the patu on the ground as he left
The assault was captured on nearby CCTV and seen by a witness who notified police and identified Butler
The victim was taken to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries
written while living out his final days with whānau in Hastings
the victim said the attack had left him with a speech impediment
which made it “extremely difficult to communicate”
the assault has compromised my cancer treatment and severely impacted my physical capability
“I’m often tired and weak from the treatment
I don’t recall a lot from the assault due to receiving serious head injuries and concussion symptoms.”
The most frustrating part was the theft of his cellphone
I relied on that to stay in touch with family and friends ..
I’ve lost touch with so many people because I no longer have their contact details
“It’s frustrating and heartbreaking at this time of my life
“This is not how I wanted to spend my last six months alive.”
Butler’s counsel Holly Alderton said there was no premeditation involved and that it was the victim who had the weapon
“Mr Butler accepts that his response went well beyond self-defence and he’s taken full responsibility
“This whole situation was exacerbated by Mr Butler’s intoxication ..
and that has been a recurring theme throughout his life.”
Alderton said Butler had good support from his sister and father
who were keen to get him into a formal rehabilitation centre
Butler knew he needed help with his alcoholism and “that he needs to remain sober to live a pro-social life”
Judge Saunders said it was sad enough dying from cancer at age 60
“let alone having the last six months of your life injured by this senseless
“You wanted to cause him really serious harm and you did ..
he was [left] defenceless and barely conscious.”
Judge Saunders was pleased Butler was keen to change and get better
On a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
and after taking a starting point of six years’ jail
Butler was jailed for four years and six months

At North Alabama he will have a chance to contend for the starting role

We don't even know the name of his species
we can look at the times he's said it and draw a few conclusions
Here's a collection of instances where our little friend utters his single word:
Before I dive into an examination of what "Patu" could mean
I do want to at least mention the possibility that this could be sort of like the word "Groot" that the Marvel character of the same name uses for everything
It could also be just a nonsense word that he responds with ..
sort of an acknowledgment of something with a noise that sounds like speech
will answer any question asked of them with a series of meows
It sounds like they're "talking," but obviously it's just a cat sound
I am," if we're going with his species' odd syntax)
"Papa," "sorry," and a sort of combo of "hello" and "goodbye," the way the Hawaiian word "aloha" can mean both
Let's start with "I'm hungry." That one does seem to fit because
It could be his explanation for eating Frog Lady eggs since Papa Mando clearly doesn't want him to have those
It certainly works when he's about to eat something living in that soup bowl
so I don't have a choice here." It would be the right explanation for when he steals cookies from his classmate
It doesn't really fit when they're walking away from Lang
negotiations could make the little guy hungry
They are pretty far away by the time he says it
He could be hungry when his ship gets to Peli's place
he's not asking to eat a few planets when Mando shows him Mandalore and its moons
It could still work if it's a non-sequitur
but he does seem to be paying close attention
He could be sorry he ate the Frog Lady eggs
sorry he's going to eat a soup monster (though he wasn't sorry when he ate the frogs in season 1)
it doesn't make sense when they're walking away from Lang
The next up on the list of possibilities is "Papa." It works when Papa is the one scolding him for eating eggs
He could be calling for Papa to explain why his freaking soup is moving
but I want to eat them," or "Papa says I can eat whatever I want." It could even be
I stole these cookies with my Force powers." That one is a little light on meaning
he could be turning to Papa to ask something else
or wondering why Papa just said he was there for luck
He could certainly be asking for Papa's location when he gets to Peli in "The Book of Boba Fett." He could be saying it because he's getting navigation lessons
and Mando just started saying "we" in reference to the two of them as Mandalorians
Last on that list is a combo of hi and goodbye
he could be greeting or bidding farewell to the soup monster before he eats it
he does eat eggs with frog embryos in them and live frogs as well.) He could be saying hi to the kid he took the cookies from because he doesn't realize it's wrong
It's only the last one that I'm not sure about
When he's learning about Mandalore and the moons — including Concordia
where Mando tells Grogu he grew up — he could be saying hi to Papa's homeworld
but having spent a bunch of time around my niece and nephew when they were little
They would say hello to a flower if I pointed one out
how once they learn to say "Mama," Dad is Mama
it's a good way to break in before the little guy actually learns the word "Papa" (or the equivalent in Mando'a
Hearing him call Din that is going to turn me into a puddle of goo
so maybe it's best to just stick to "Patu" for now
"The Mandalorian" season 3 is currently streaming on Disney+ with new episodes each Wednesday
True freshman Ari Patu will start at quarterback for Stanford (3-6
3-3 Pac-12) on Saturday if starter Tanner McKee cannot play
McKee remains questionable this week, reportedly for a knee injury, according to Stanford Rivals
Shaw said that he will determine if McKee can play later in the week
If the sophomore can’t participate in full speed practices on Friday
Patu would be the fourth quarterback to start for the Cardinal this season
and the first true freshman to lead the Stanford offense under Shaw.
“Hopefully we get our starting quarterback back,” Shaw said
we feel great about Ari going in there and playing.”
Sixth-year quarterback Isaiah Sanders, who started last Friday and scored the only points for Stanford in its blowout loss to Utah
will also likely be featured against Oregon State if McKee cannot play
the task of running Stanford’s regular offense will fall to Patu
If the Cardinal’s performance against Utah was any indication
they’ll need him to push the ball downfield
Sanders showed his versatility last Friday
completing his first career passes as a Cardinal
but his increased involvement wasn’t enough to sustain Stanford’s offense
Shaw attempted to piece together a game plan using a platoon of his backup signal callers
leading off with option plays run by Sanders on early downs before rotating in senior Jack West for passing downs
and Stanford didn’t cross midfield for an entire half until a Sanders pass to sophomore tight end Benjamin Yurosek finally brought the Cardinal into the red zone in the third quarter.
Shaw said on Tuesday that the team has made significant adjustments ahead of the matchup against the Beavers
we feel like we’ve made some positive changes,” Shaw said
Patu, a three star recruit from Folsom, Calif., was not as highly recruited out of high school as other quarterbacks in the 2021 class but earned Stanford’s only offer at the position. He was also one of Stanford’s first ever early-enrollees in the football program
foregoing the end of his senior year of high school to join the Cardinal in the spring of 2021
Patu made his first career appearance for Stanford in garbage time against Utah and
heaved a well-placed deep ball to sophomore wide receiver Bryce Farrell that was only narrowly broken up by a Utah defender
“We saw all of that early on in his career
And now he’s got a great opportunity… if Tanner can’t go.”
Starting wide receivers junior Elijah Higgins and sophomore John Humphreys
sophomore running back EJ Smith and senior safety Kendall Williamson are also questionable
junior outside linebacker Stephon Herron and sophomore running back Casey Filkins are out
But all eyes will be on who leads the Cardinal under center on Saturday
“We always believed that Ari’s got the chance to be a pretty special football player,” Shaw said

Para-Taekwondo will be featured on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games programme
“Para-taekwondo has developed considerably in recent years and this was demonstrated by the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) decision to include the sport in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games sports programme."
The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) and the Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) have signed a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU)
the two organisations have committed to work together for the development of para-taekwondo across the Pan American region with the aim of the sport one day being included in the Parapan American Games
The MoU was signed by PATU President Master Jiho Choi and APC President Jose Luis Campo during an official ceremony of the Argentina Taekwondo Open on 30 August 2015 in Buenos Aires
the APC and PATU will encourage greater co-operation between their member national associations and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) for the promotion of para-taekwondo in each country
PATU will follow the APC recommendations and standards for inclusion in the Parapan American Games
“Para-taekwondo has developed considerably in recent years and this was demonstrated by the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) decision to include the sport in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games sports programme,” Campo said
“Para-taekwondo provides people of all impairments with the opportunity to engage in sport
and we will work with our NPCs to encourage them to spread greater awareness of the sport in their countries.”
we will also work with PATU to assist in the promotion of the Pan American Para-Taekwondo Championships,” Campo added
“We welcome para-taekwondo’s interest in taking part in the Parapan American Games.”
Under the leadership of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF)
PATU has increased participation in para-taekwondo in the Pan-American region in recent years
The WTF has hosted the Pan America Para-Taekwondo Championships on three occasions and has seen a steady increase in participation as more athletes have been attracted to the global sport
There are currently over 100 WTF licenced athletes in the Pan-American region
That number is expected to rise with taekwondo now part of Tokyo 2020 and set to be a demonstration sport at the INAS Global Games (20-27 September) in Quito
“We are working with all our continental unions to encourage them to develop para-taekwondo within their regions in order to increase participation worldwide,” WTF President Chungwon Choue said
“We fully support the MoU signed between PATU and the APC
And we hope that the increased cooperation between the two organisations will allow us to begin to realise the huge potential that exists for para-taekwondo in the Pan American region
It would be a great honour for para-taekwondo to one day be part of the Parapan American Games.”
Washington State reached to a couple different places
Two players announced their commitments to the Cougars on Monday: Edge rusher Syrus Webster
a class of 2024 prospect from Seattle who was previously committed to Arizona

this fall the 6-foot-4 Webster totaled seven sacks

Webster tallied 10 tackles and two sacks – and he forced and recovered a fumble
Utah Tech also got 79 tackles and six QB hits from Webster
Oregon State and San Diego State out of the portal

both of whom played their final seasons this fall
Webster figures to compete for playing time right away
especially considering backup edge Lawrence Falatea is recovering from a torn ACL
but returners like Isaac Terrell and Raam Stevenson will be in the mix too
a three-star (247 Sports) athlete from Roosevelt High in Seattle
flipped his commitment from Arizona to WSU
He originally held offers from Florida Atlantic
Utah State and UNLV – and when he decommitted from UA

turned those schools down to become a Coug
he projects as a fit at other positions too
The Cougs are losing star cornerback Chau Smith-Wade
as well as senior Cam Lampkin who did the same
Sam Lockett III and Chris Jackson graduated
WSU does return starters Jackson Lataimua and Jaden Hicks
