Brazil - September 2023 - The Salesian Mission in Iauaretê
São Gabriel da Cachoeira District in Amazonia
belonging to the Salesian Province of Brazil-Manaus (BMA)
is hosting the First Ethnic Cultural Event for the Indigenous Peoples of the Region
The event is organised by the Coordination of Indigenous Organisations of the Iauaretê District (COIDI)
It opened on Sunday 24 September with a Holy Mass celebrated  by the parish priest
and concelebrated by the parish priest of Piraquara
Various indigenous delegations from the region and Colombia are attending the event
