In the past four years, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Giselle Prado-Wright noticed an uptick in younger, first-time clients asking for fillers
She chalks the trend up to pandemic lockdowns and more time spent online
you're seeing everybody perfectly filtered on social media," Prado-Wright
the co-owner of EXERT BodySculpt in Florida
you feel less than because you're noticing a little bit of darkness
While Prado-Wright occasionally offers under-eye filler to help clients with "very sunken under-eyes," she said she's very conservative with how much she uses
she says no to under-eye filler because she believes that
the results are usually very mixed — and that the greater risks are not worth it
Like Botox and other fillers
under-eye filler is appealing to clients because there's no downtime
it's not something where you have to do this big recovery
Under-eye filler also looks great right after injection. On social media, post-filler videos are usually shot a day or two after the treatment
Fillers, which usually contain hyaluronic acid
the under-eye area can become really puffy
with the fillers impairing lymphatic flow and potentially causing blockages
"The immediate before-and-after is being propagated a lot on social media
versus 'let's see what that looks like a year from now,'" Prado-Wright said
she said — though it can cost up to $1,500
The cost of getting it dissolved is charged per vial of Hylenex
Because the solution has to be injected exactly where the filler is
it can take multiple sessions to get rid of all of it
One is using collagen injections instead of hyaluronic acid fillers
are also used to add volume to the face and reduce fine lines
Because collagen is naturally occurring in the skin and collagen injections have a thinner consistency than filler
there are lower risks of vascular occlusions or bad reactions
Injecting collagen closer to the nose and cheeks can fill out the face and camouflage any under-eye hollowness
a prescription retinoid that boosts cell turnover
"It's the gold standard just to help that skin quality look better
Of course, nothing will help if you're not maintaining good sleep, decreasing your alcohol intake
"Not just your under-eyes are going to look better," she said
"Your skin overall is going to look much better."

Decades after making it as the biggest rock band of the 20th century
most all musicians recognize The Beatles as not just great performers but for their supreme songcraft
What's remarkable about their songs is that they're malleable
and jazz musicians have been having fun with Beatle arrangements for years
from Count Basie and George Benson's big band recordings
to intimate settings like pianist Brad Mehldau's solo album "Your Mother Should Know."
Having found success at Jazz, TX with his "90s Rock Night," pianist Aaron Prado was looking for another challenge
and found it with a full-album interpretation of one of the most beloved Beatle classics
and Brandon Guerra (drums) for the full album
Enjoy the show by using the audio player at the top of this page
For an interview with Prado about the process behind "Abbey Road" and a preview of his upcoming projects
or read on for an edited transcript of our chat
Nathan Cone: So how did you decide to do "Abbey Road" versus “Beatles night” or something like that
we did the 90s Rock Night a couple years ago
And that sort of opened some doors for ideas about doing things that are outside of either original music
The ‘90s Rock Night sort of proved that we can take different harmony and form
besides just the standard Tin Pan Alley or jazz specific thing
the Beatles equals first: “White Album.” So let's just do the album
Nathan Cone: How would you do “Revolution No
How you going to do some of those sort of weird tape experiments… so… well...
What about “Abbey Road?” You know that one's just one disc
And so that's sort of how we arrived at “Abbey Road,” plus it being such an iconic record
and we've performed it maybe three or four times
Nathan Cone: So in terms of arranging the tunes
and there's a couple of Paul McCartney's Tin Panny things that are on there
But you're coming from a rock background with a lot of the other tunes
“I Want You (She's So Heavy),” or “Come Together.” How do you arrange those into the jazz mode
one thing is to realize what to leave alone and then where to expand
I think we learned with doing some of the rock tunes in the other show
And a lot of the songs we actually left pretty much intact as far as the melody goes
I have to do some assignments of who's going to do what
And so between the piano and the and the saxophone
Sometimes there's piano on the [original] record
get the improvising in there in a way that would be satisfying to a jazz sort of sensibility
That was kind of the challenge… build those moments in
Because the flow of the original includes these medleys on side two
which I guess are like these throw away ideas that didn't make it onto other Beatles projects
And they're like these little nuggets and those are wonderful little things
And we play those actually pretty close to the original
And then save the big drum solo at the end for
the big Ringo drum solo becomes an extended drum solo that Brandon Guerra can just go nuts and
because even though he does kind of go nuts and stretch out a little bit
because I've got those drum hits ingrained in my memory
But I can hear both the both Brandon and Ringo in it
Aaron Prado: That's exactly what we were going for
wanted to be very specific about the Ringo parts
versus the snare and the toms and so he really tried to get that
Nathan Cone: What is your favorite song that you think maybe worked the best
Aaron Prado: “Come Together” is a great tune to play
There’s nothing wrong with playing it like a jazz tune
that we can kind of feel comfortable just doing what we would normally do
And it's great to kind of have everybody take a solo
Nathan Cone: What are some of the other projects that you have in mind for Jazz
Aaron Prado: Having done 90s Rock Night and Abbey Road
I feel like I need to get back some of my jazz capital
I'm working on a show that's Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus
and try to show some of the connections between those composers through the language of the blues and some of the voicings in a three horn arrangement
I would like to play some original music there
Recently I had the chance to do a sextet show at the Carver through KRTU you that was all original music
And I'd like to bring that music to a wider audience
as far as projects that could sort of continue to explore the
the possibilities of playing repertoire outside of jazz
I think it'd be fun to do sort of an outlaw country kind of a show
I think it would be fun to explore some of the other eras in rock
when are you gonna do an ‘80s night?” You know
That's actually a really nice tune to play
And everyone would have their favorite tune that we wouldn't be playing
But there's other things I would like to come around to the “White Album” at some point
I really want to play [sings] “mother superior
jumped the gun…” You could come sing back up on that one
There are so many jazz musicians who have played the Beatles that there's a lot of precedent for that
including the Brad Meldau album that just came out
Nathan Cone: It proves that [the Beatles were] good songwriters
because I think probably back in the 1960s and early 70s
there was this idea that the Beatles were [just] a rock group
we've seen these guys have stood the test of time
And what we find is that… it can be popular and it can be art music
You wrote a piece for the Gurwitz International Piano Competition
You were commissioned to do that… but do you have any Inklings in yourself to say
maybe I'll write some more classically oriented stuff again
Aaron Prado: There's a project that I think I can mention
have a project in the pipeline to write for a chamber ensemble in honor of Dreamweek and in honor of Dr Martin Luther King Jr
with a text to inform the music that would be taken from one of Dr King's speeches
we will have the Marian Anderson String Quartet in San Antonio to debut
And I'm putting it out there into the ether
and the Gurwitz piece was a really wonderful experience
20th Century serial music and something else
for amplifying the sounds of jazz and San Antonio

El Prado Golf Course on Pine Avenue is up for a lease renewal with the County of San Bernardino
The driving range at El Prado Golf Course includes an old-style free-standing street clock installed by the current operator shortly after the sublease was acquired
After a group of nine individuals asked the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors on Feb
11 to open the leasing of El Prado Golf Course to a competitive bidding process
the board voted 4-1 to negotiate only with the current operator—El Prado Development
County Supervisor Curt Hagman said Wednesday that the decision would allow county staff to see if a deal could be made
“If we don’t reach an agreement by April 29
Hagman said requests for proposal (RFP) are not used on most of the county’s continuing lease options
“This gives the county a way to renegotiate and determine fair market value and see what improvements the lease holders will put into the facilities moving forward,” he said
in Chino is part of 2,288 acres of federal land in the Prado Basin leased by the county from the U.S
El Prado Development LLC acquired the sublease in May 2023
CEO and president of the Arena Family of Companies and Chino resident Eric Fikse
submitted a proposal last June to the county
The investors said they have spent the last 10 months meeting with county staff and individual supervisors asking for a competitive bidding process so that they can compete for the lease
Kooiman told the board that El Prado Golf Course has been a staple of public golf in the Inland Empire for nearly 50 years
offering affordable access to the game and fostering a thriving golf community
“Instead of protecting this public asset and ensuring its long-term success
the board is considering a backroom deal that would lock up control of the course for the next 23 years—without a competitive bidding process,” he said
Kooiman said individuals with deep ties to El Prado have expressed interest in bidding on the lease and making meaningful improvements to the course
chief executive officer for San Bernardino County
LLC has only had two years to make an investment in the golf course
“They have approached us and basically said it’s not enough time for them to commit major dollars into this because of the risk it would put them in with such a short-team lease,” Mr
“So the goal is to try to extend the lease that allows them to amortize and recover their costs
and make a good investment for the county.”
Snoke said if an agreement is not reached with the current operator and brought back to the board for adoption by April 29
“this item then directs staff to go out to open bid to do that.”
Kooiman said the county should prioritize fair market value over whether a short-term tenant can recover their investment
“That’s a concern for the tenant not the county,” he said
“If the goal is to justify a lease extension
why were self-serving improvements like installing a clock engraved with one of the owner’s names and building a fence around the driving range a priority rather than investing in a greenskeeper to maintain the course?”
The 36-hole golf course includes a county-owned clubhouse
Supervisor Hagman said previous management allowed the grounds and the county structures to deteriorate
“Prado was a nice golf course for years,” he said
“The previous owners saw that the lease was going to expire and stopped maintaining it
The intention of this board is to get a top-rate golf course.”
Supervisor Paul Cook was the lone vote against negotiating with the current operator only
I want to make sure we do it right,” he said

is now leading his own research group at the Luxembourg Institute of Health
Our Future Leaders grant programme was created to empower outstanding academic and clinical researchers at the start of their careers
helping them establish themselves as leading experts in the field of research into brain tumours
Dr Álvarez-Prado’s progression – from early career researcher to head of his own lab and research team – marks a major achievement for Ángel and demonstrates the potential impact of this innovative funding scheme
His innovative project explored the idea of treating glioblastoma by simultaneously targeting tumour cells and the immune system
which helps cancer cells to tell the difference between normal molecules and those from a viral infection
cells trigger an immune response—sending signals to the immune system and shutting down the infected cell’s growth to stop the virus from spreading
Álvarez-Prado’s research looked for ways to turn cancer’s own defences against it
By removing the ADAR1 protein from cancer cells
he hoped that this would make them more vulnerable to the immune system
the cancer cells could initiate an immune response—making the immune system attack them
You can read more about this project here
Ángel will soon be applying for the second grant in the Future Leaders programme – the Junior Fellowship
This step of the programme is intended to provide the best researchers with further support to continue to develop their own research ideas and to begin to set up their own research group to further establish themselves as experts in the field of research into brain tumours
Ángel’s Junior Fellowship project will build upon his previous work on glioblastoma tumours to bring their results closer to translation to patients
With ongoing work on primary and metastatic brain cancers
his research group is committed to improve care for people diagnosed with this disease

The man who brought Topgolf to Ridgeland has pulled off another development coup
Developer Gabriel Prado has bought the Drury Inn on County Line Road in Ridgeland and has renamed it Prado Hotel with plans of a major facelift for the property
Prado has entered into an agreement with local hotel developer Chico Patel of Wealth Hospitality as well as hotel chain Choice Hotels International for the 175-room property at an undisclosed price
Prado said that to build the same property from scratch today would cost in the neighborhood of $30 million
"This partnership with Choice is the launch of the Prado Hotel brand," Prado told the Clarion Ledger
"This be will part of their boutique brand
which is the highest end brand for Choice Hotels."
It was just last month that Prado watched as the $26.2 million
that he lured to Mississippi opened after about three years of work
Topgolf is the drawing card for the development off Interstate 55 in Ridgeland, northeast of the Renaissance at Colony Park, the project has grown to include a national grocery store chain, an entertainment venue, shopping and upscale living accommodations
will be a 77-acre mixed-use development that will also include two high-end hotels
the developer and CEO and president of PraCon Global Investment Group also has plans for the old McRae’s building on Meadowbrook Drive in Jackson
he intends to pour $60 million into the neighborhood where he first lived and build 215 high-end lofts called Prado Lofts at Meadowview
He said an update will be coming soon on that project
"This really complements all of the other things that we are doing in the area," Prado said
Time to eat: New restaurants approved to open in Jackson-area. See the list
Boom town: You won't 'recognize the place in 10 years': The massive growth of Gluckstadt
“We are grateful with the City of Ridgeland
and all of our team members that made this possible," Prado said
"Acquiring this property and launching the brand of Prado Hotel in a partnership with Choice Hotels International marks a significant step in our growth investment strategy in our Hospitality Vertical
allowing us to expand our footprint in a dynamic market
This acquisition reinforces our commitment to Ridgeland and Mississippi while enhancing our portfolio with properties that align with our vision for sustainable
and we are thrilled to be ambassadors of the greatest state in the U.S.”
He said the launch of the Prado Hotel brand is just the first announcement for 2025 with a goal of as many as 15 more through the rest of the year
but I like to set high goals for myself," Prado said
"I think this first property at Hotel Prado really speaks to our commitment to the Jackson metro area."
Prado also said they will be taking over the property in front of the Prado Hotel that formerly housed Logan's Roadhouse
He said that he is not at liberty to make an announcement about that property
but that there will be one in the coming months
"We will be keeping some of the amenities that Drury once offered
including a happy hour at the bar and hot breakfast in the morning," Prado said
There will also be an on-site restaurant and a roof-top bar that will serve only guests of the hotel
a pickleball court and other improvements will take approximately 18 months
Prado said the hotel will remain open and work will not keep the hotel from offering a majority of amenities
Patel said the revamped property gives the Jackson area another great opportunity for visitors
"Wealth Hospitality guiding PraCon Global Investment Group through their acquisition and launch of the Prado Hotel by Choice Hotels international reinforces our commitment to our strategic partnerships in developments in Ridgeland and other prime locations in the near future," Patel said
Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee said the development will strength the city's position as a go-to place for visitors in the area
"Ridgeland continues to be a destination for business and hospitality
and we are excited to welcome Choice Hotels International's transformation of the former Drury Inn into the Prado Hotel," McGee said
"PraCon Global investment Group's investment reflects the strength of our local economy and confidence our city's future."

The big fun of partnerships and collaborations has a murky side
chef/owner of the (assumedly) vast network of restaurants in the DDP Restaurant Group
sent a press release out today clarifying just who is under his watchful eye
This release undoubtedly dropped because the Strib published a piece about the (kinda) closing of Blondette (gift link)
a high-profile restaurant that was "concepted by” prolific chef Daniel del Prado
has closed — for the most part." It does go on to say that del Prado is no longer involved in the Rand Hotel
The story credits the coming evolution of the space to a new chef who has not been named
The DDP release doesn't really address the closing, but seeks to set the record straight about his relationship with InnerBloom Hospitality
the restaurant group helmed by Aaron Switz
The only problem is that the statement isn't entirely correct
InnerBloom's Anne DeBeau let me know that they "do not oversee Blondette
This all speaks to that tricky sticky space of collaboration, consultation, and spin-off businesses, which I talked about last fall: What should we, as diners, know about who's in the kitchen?
and licensing gigs happening all over town and for the most part
people don't really care about the ingredients in the proverbial sausage
If your dealmaking ends up creating a good place to eat: good for me
or the marquee chef name splashed on the menu ceases to be a part of the kitchen mix
The chef loses credibility if a place doesn't make it (what I think must have been the feels that sparked this press release)
and a restaurant without its named leader actually leading probably doesn't have a lot of mojo
who bought in with the initial storytelling
has to be behind the literal stove to make it work
but it's important to know if they are still behind the team running the spot
I did know that both parties were moving into the future as separate entities: the contract between them had been completed
Paul and it was clear that while there were conceptual links to DDP and Layline
"We appreciate our partnership with DDP over the years with Josefina
and Layline and wish DDP and his Restaurant Group the best for the group's continued growth and success," DeBeau offered
When I asked about how they felt about going forward without being linked to DDP
"You know when we started we were a fast-casual restaurant company [AgraCulture] and he really taught us how to do full service
We've been able to grow and that's due to things we learned from him
we have more that we want to do and are excited about continuing to define who we are on our own."
Sanjusan is not a part of DDP or InnerBloom
but now owned by John Gross and Shigeyuki Furukawa

The big picture: Paolo Veronese’s 2.3m-tall and 4.3m-wide Christ among the Doctors in the Temple (around 1560)
Times have rarely been this good at the Prado, and that can be credited in no small part to Falomir’s stewardship. After taking over in 2017, he saw the museum through its triumphant bicentennial year in 2019, and then through the crucible of the Covid pandemic, after which it has emerged even stronger than before. This year, the director, 58, has felt comfortable enough to add what amounts to another full-time job to his executive duties—that of curator.
Speaking at his office overlooking Madrid, Falomir chats calmly, if a little coolly, about the Foster plan, which is finally back on track following several delays. After the building work is finished, the goal will be to reconvene the second floor’s original 17th-century display of works of art, conceived by the court painter at the time, Diego Velázquez. In turn, Foster’s wholly new, blank-slate top floor, Falomir says, will likely be used for temporary shows.
Veronese’s Venus and Adonis (1580s) will be among around 100 works on show at the Prado’s major exhibition celebrating the Venetian Renaissance artist next month
Featuring some 100 works, including major loans from the Louvre and New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the show will be in stark contrast to Falomir’s 2003 breakthrough Prado show, devoted to Titian, which first brought him international attention.
While giving a comprehensive overview of Veronese’s works, from small to large to immense, the new show will include works by Raphael, who influenced the young Veronese. There will also be works by artists who in turn demonstrate the Verona-born Venetian artist’s own posthumous impact, including Peter Paul Rubens and the Carracci of Bologna.
The new show is a culmination of Falomir’s career-long interest in Venetian art but it also represents a departure. When he did the Titian show, he explains, “there were only works by Titian.” But now he realises that “artists are not islands”, and giving Veronese his due means reaching both backward and forward in time.
Current taste places Veronese, known for his extravagant banquet scenes and sumptuous costumes, a distant third behind Titian and Tintoretto. But back in the 17th and 18th centuries, Falomir explains, it was actually Veronese who was in greater demand. This led to a wide dispersal of his works among the royal courts of Europe—a challenge, these days, in putting together a show.
Luckily, Falomir confesses, “almost everything I had on my dream list, I got.” He cites the 4.5m-wide dynamic painting, Feast in the House of Simon (around 1560), from Turin’s Galleria Sabauda, and the Met’s luscious Mars and Venus United by Love (1570s).
The Prado’s deep holdings of first-rank artists, not to mention a distinct lack of the second-tier art that often fills out the galleries of other Old Master collections, gives the museum a special mystique among art lovers. In 2007, when the Prado undertook its first substantial expansion, the late art critic Robert Hughes proclaimed it “the greatest museum of pure painting in the world”.

Just three years after Amarillo College debuted its baseball program
the team has already started to pick up traction
The Badgers came away with a winning record in 2024
and developed a number of talented players who will play at four-year programs
The most high-profile player on the roster
Prado is an impressive athlete who recorded eye-popping stats as a freshman under coach Brandon Rains
The Amarillo College standout signed to continue his career at Oklahoma
where he will play for Skip Johnson in the SEC
But the sophomore's teammates know Prado as much more than a baseball player
In addition to becoming one of the Badgers' best players
Prado has also started to show his personality around his teammates as the group continues to grow closer

While Amarillo College has a talented roster, Prado's elite skill set increases the group's potential to play for a conference championship.
As a freshman, the future Sooner recorded a .402 batting average in conference play, the highest mark on the team. With elite size and athleticism, backed by a strong statistical output, it is easy to see why Division I programs were interested in the Badgers' star.
Prep Baseball Report even named Prado one of the top 40 junior college baseball prospects in the nation.
Prado hasn't gotten to this point by accident, however, crediting his coaches and teammates for helping him improve. Rains also noted that Prado has worked hard to improve on the field and become friends with his teammates away from the diamond since arriving in Amarillo.
"I've been preparing myself since I got here," Prado said. "As a freshman, I played almost every single game, so that helped me a lot. ... The coaching staff is really good here. So they help us out a lot. It's something that I really like about this program."
Prado said that of the offers he had to play at the next level, he chose Oklahoma because of his relationship with the coaching staff and his excitement to play in the SEC.
While Prado's attracts plenty of attention for his efforts on the field, his teammates have seen a different side of the superstar centerfielder.
Prado and his teammates are aware of the rankings and recognition that the future Sooner has received recently, but according to Badgers infielder Aiden Young, Prado has remained level-headed through it all.
Prado becoming closer with his teammates was part of an important offseason that saw the entire group become a more complete unit. Prado is one of seven players Badgers' returnees to earn all-conference honors in 2024.
With one more season left in Amarillo, Prado is looking to help his team make history before heading to Norman for a career in the SEC.

and it’s set to raise the bar for the Chinese brand’s powertrain and driver-assist technologies
Dubbed the Chery Tiggo 9L, the new “large family flagship SUV” was revealed at the 2025 Shanghai motor show as the brand’s largest vehicle to date. Though its name is similar to the current Tiggo 9
The Tiggo 9 is currently the largest Chery-branded vehicle at 4820mm in length, and while full specifications for the Tiggo 9L are yet to be confirmed, it’s possible it could eclipse the five-metre mark and enter the realm of the Toyota LandCruiser Prado and Ford Everest
A Chery Australia spokesperson told CarExpert that the brand’s local arm will keep an eye on the Tiggo 9L and other new models revealed in Shanghai (see below)
“We’re interested in all the exciting product that was revealed at the Shanghai show
at this early stage there are no confirmed plans [for the local release of the Tiggo 9L],” they said

According to Car News China
the Tiggo 9L will be underpinned by Chery’s Kunpeng Super Performance Hybrid CDM-S system
which incorporates three electric motors and will be capable of performing tank turns
The SUV is also expected to be available in both six- and seven-seat configurations
while its chassis will be supported by a variable damping system
There’s also Chery’s Falcon 700 driving assistance system
which incorporates roof-mounted LiDAR and several cameras integrated into the front bumper
can both support Level 2 self-driving capability
which is considered partial automation and is comparable to Tesla Autopilot
the Tiggo 9L has a so-called “AI smart cockpit”
which features three large screens including a passenger-oriented entertainment display
There are also items that appear to be more rugged
like grab handles on either side of the cabin and a peculiar drive mode selector bar on the centre console
No further details or pricing are currently available
It’s likely the Tiggo 9L will be pricier than the similarly named Tiggo 9 though
which costs between RMB152,900 and 203,900 in China (A$32,795-$43,734)
There’s also the Tiggo 9 C-DM plug in-hybrid (PHEV)
which costs between RMB165,900 and 175,900 (A$35,593-A$37,739)
Both models are available in five- and seven-seat configurations
The Tiggo 9L would be best placed to compete with the Prado Hybrid
which is currently produced only in left-hand drive in Japan for the US market
but could also eventually be sold in Australia
It’s powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain outputting 243kW of power and 630Nm of torque
utilises a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 175kW and 385Nm on its own
It’s mated to a three-speed 3DHT electric motor delivering up to 165kW
with Chery claiming a driving range of more than 1400km without needing to be refuelled or recharged
Chery says its new Himla light commercial vehicle brand will offer “a full lineup spanning from compact to mid-size and large pickups” powered by petrol
The Himla dual-cab ute shown in Shanghai won’t be sold in Australia, however. Instead, this market will receive a larger PHEV ute to rival the BYD Shark 6, GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV and Ford Ranger PHEV
as Chery cites data showing the global pickup market is set to reach 5.67 million sales this year
before surpassing 6.3 million units by 2030
