But that whole situation is a bit complicated when Vidal is…well
The running theory that now seems to be panning out is that Rio Vidal is Death
who at one point had a significant storyline as the love interest of Thanos himself
That is…probably not how things are going to play out here
Rio Vidal translates to some approximation of “River of Life,” a river being a key part of the underworld and the phrase “river of life” often being referred to as the blood running through our veins
it seems pretty clear that Rio Vidal is indeed Death
but how that manifests in the MCU will be different than the comic character
the Thanos-beloved cosmic entity that is normally a part of galaxy-spanning storylines rather than going down
They’re clearly not going to be doing that Thanos storyline
I can’t find any connection to her and Agatha in the source material
you take characters and slot them where you need them
I would argue Agatha All Along has greatly benefitted from the insertion of Aubrey Plaza’s Rio
and Death (and death) is clearly an important part of the story in this entire series
The ultimate reveal of Vidal’s identity remains to be seen
but with all the hints they’re dropping we may not have to wait too long

Rio Real Golf & Hotel, a premier golf destination in Southern Spain, has reported an impressive increase in footfall and turnover following the installation of Toptracer technology in 30 of its driving range bays
Rio Real installed Toptracer in 15 of their range bays in March
and in the intervening months Toptracer’s world-leading technology has transformed the customer experience and boosted revenue by over 150% – with every month of the year so far having seen a dramatic increase in foot traffic and revenue
Rio Real felt the driving range was primarily used by golfers for quick warm-ups
limiting spending and the range’s overall potential
The decision to integrate Toptracer was driven by a commitment to enhancing customer service and the overall golfing experience rather than focusing purely on financial returns
with some days seeing traffic increase by over 800% compared to the previous year
expressed his satisfaction with the results: “Toptracer makes everyone’s training and golfing experience much better
provided our staff can take some time to explain the benefits to our users
It’s a really good technology that will continue to go up and up in the future and one that is helping us transform our business even further.”
One of the key features supporting the increased traffic is the installation of a robot that collects golf balls 24 hours a day
ensuring an endless supply of balls for customers
the team at Rio Real plan to continue investing in Toptracer technology and to keep making improvements to the range
with a forecast of continued growth in the coming months.

It was collectible figurines all along, as a new pic of an Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) Funko Pop! box has seemingly spoiled two huge secrets from Agatha All Along: the real identity of Joe Locke’s Teen
and the wildly surprising real identity of Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal
but “Teen,” who is currently cursed on the show so that Agatha can’t hear details about his name or backstory
The heroic Marvel Comics character is named Billy Kaplan
though he might be more familiar to MCU fans as Billy Maximoff
Billy was a construct of Wanda’s chaos magic
His soul was later brought back as Billy Kaplan
How closely the show will stick to this backstory
We’re already about to get into a way bigger spoiler
the physical manifestation of Death is a character in Marvel Comics
Remember the line about “to court death” in the end credits of The Avengers movie that made Thanos smile
though they never took that route in the movies
If Rio is Death, though, what does that mean for her romantic relationship with Agatha
Is Agatha All Along subbing in Agatha for Thanos
Why is Death masquerading as a Green Witch at all
we’ll just have to wait until further Funko Pop!s are released
The first two episodes of Agatha All Along premiered September 18 at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET on Disney+
leading up to the two-episode finale on October 30

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 5
while the latest episode has cleared up a bit more about Teen and Nicolas Scratch
there’s also a small detail to help with unlocking Rio’s identity too.
‘Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power’ sees the coven face their next trial: confronting Agatha’s past
they must work together to communicate with the dead using a Ouija Board.
the coven try again as the spirit confirms who they are
She beams and throws her head back laughing
she’s considered one incarnation of Death
and has rubbed shoulders with several of the biggest comic book baddies around
Her reaction to Death’s name is pretty intriguing then
even if the spirit turns out to be Agatha’s mother
There was another indication back in episode one too
when it was spotted that Lady Death was pictured in some tarot cards with a knife
Rio was then seen holding the exact same knife not long after…
This isn’t the only suspicious thing that Rio does in the latest episode either, as when the coven completes the task and heads back to the Witches' Road

Escorpion was founded in 1969 and originally played at Manises in the north-western outskirts of Valencia

Formerly Lumine before a rebranding project saw the venue’s name changed to Infinitum last year. The Lakes is often regarded as the No.1 here, but we much prefer the Hills, so much so that it is a contender for our Continental Europe Top 100

We like Emporda’s courses already – witness their prominent positions in our list – but watch them climb in future rankings
both courses as well as the hotel are benefitting from significant investment
That has already seen the reopening of the hotel after a six-month overhaul – the first part of a multi-million pound programme of improvements
This includes the reconstruction of all bunkers using the Better Billy Bunker method
and new greenkeeping equipment to improve the conditioning
routed through umbrella pines common to Iberia and Belek
and indeed it has a real feel of the latter’s Gloria or Sueno. The fairways are not bulldozed into flat corridors between the trees though
varying from the gentle ripples of an unmade bed to more dramatic mounds that skiers would recognise as a pronounced mogul field
We really like it – and can’t wait to see the new iteration
Look out for its position in next month’s Continental Resorts Top 100 too…

Design 31.0 Setting 12.0 Memorability 11.0 Playability 8.0 Consistency 7.7 Presentation 8.1 Total 77.8
Europa and sister course America could so easily swap places
This is the newest of La Cala’s courses and might well end up being its No.1
For us it has the resort’s best hole – the 4th
Super par 3s and it’s consistently strong with a stellar back nine
Three nights B&B and two rounds at La Cala
Design 31.0 Setting 11.5 Memorability 11.0 Playability 7.7 Consistency 8.4 Presentation 8.2 Total 77.8
The Tour suffers in that manner familiar to ‘second’ courses
It is indubitably good and mixes its tough holes with more straightforward ones especially cleverly
The notice next to the 1st tee tells you it isn’t a cuddly No.2

While Mail Sport understands that claims in Spain the proposed move had already been signed and sealed are premature, it is believed both Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid are confident the deal will go through this summer
the champions of Europe have been bullish over their chances of landing him for a number of months and have been planning for life with him in their side
Real Madrid have been permitted to talk to him since January 1 - and have been doing so - but a direct approach on New Year's Eve to sign him in January was rebuffed
Reds supporters have publicly vented their anger at his bombshell decision to leave
claiming their academy graduate is turning his back on his boyhood club for nothing
but Ferdinand has insisted he should be given a hero's farewell
'You should be saying thank you and good luck,' said Ferdinand
most productive players in one of the most successful periods in recent years
'And because he's choosing to go and leave the club
he's going to the biggest club right now in the world
'You should be clapping him off and giving him a hero's welcome when he eventually comes back in 15 years
they should have told the club that he wanted to leave..
'He might not have known then where he wanted to go
'If it was Real Madrid he wanted to go to only
18 months ago they have a right back who's one of the best in the world
'The situation might have been sped up by Carvajal's injury
They're not taking any of that into account
I just feel it's not all on Alexander-Arnold.'
Reds legend Jamie Carragher has also waded into the toxicity surrounding Alexander-Arnold's departure
saying the move is simply part and parcel of football
'It seems like there's not one thing people are unhappy with – it's leaving on a free or that he should have come out and told the club earlier – people are angry for three or four different things,' Carragher said
Liverpool would get £70million or £80m for him to reinvest
but you can't have it both ways as a supporter
'If Liverpool sign someone on a free in the summer
so does that mean that his former club should absolutely hate him
when you're a local player you don't cost anything – Trent going on a free is like Virgil van Dijk leaving for £75m
Alexander-Arnold endured a frosty return to training on Monday, days after it emerged he has agreed to leave Anfield. The defender, who joined the club's academy at the age of six, has made 349 senior appearances to date.
He has won eight trophies during a glittering stay - including the Premier League and the Champions League - and also earned 33 caps for England.

The reveal of Rio's true identity comes with a heartbreaking fall
The following features major spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 7
the true identity of Aubrey Plaza's mysterious witch has finally been revealed and well
Whilst the character of Rio Vidal has been shrouded in mystery throughout the new Disney Plus show Agatha All Along so far
her name is even in the episode title itself...
As Patti LuPone's witch pieces the clues together
she encounters Rio in the space below the road.
Vidal tells Lilia: "Don't you recognize me
all roads lead to me," as she pokes her real
skull-like face out of a hooded cloak and brandishes a knife
Right before Lilia sacrifices herself to save the rest of her makeshift coven from the Salem Seven
LuPone's witch questions Agatha about Rio's true identity
with Harkness simply replying: "What can I say
Although it has long been theorized that Rio is Death
Check out some of our favorite reactions below:

it seems that Death will be the antagonist going forward
walking the rest of the Road with the remaining members of the coven
who might all be in danger given that Plaza's witch is after "bodies"
but who's to say Death won't be hunting for more..

"The Long Game" tells the true story of the San Felipe Mustangs
a group of Mexican American youths in Del Rio who in the 1950s overcame prejudice to become a state title-winning team
wanted to play golf but weren’t allowed to play at the white country club in town
As the story is told in the book “Mustang Miracle” by Humberto Garcia
those young men went on to become Texas state champions.
that epic tale is getting a loving treatment on the big screen
The new film “The Long Game” premiered at South by Southwest last week
who is from Texas – spoke to the Standard about the significance of telling a multilayered story
Listen to the story above or read the transcript below
This transcript has been edited lightly for clarity:
“The Long Game” director Julio Quintana
Texas Standard: Tell us a little bit about yourself first
I’ve heard that you came to Austin around 2000 – your family part of the oil business
“Blue Miracle” – a similar kind of true story also starring Dennis Quaid
And so it seemed like a good reason to kind of bring the team back together and take another crack at the “amily/sports movie space kind of thing
that was actually part of why I resisted doing the movie
because we felt like we had sort of done something similar enough
And I didn’t want to retread old territory
when I started reading into it – and I actually read the book and the screenplay – what really resonated with me was these young guys who
but instead of feeling sorry for themselves
they actually went out and built a course in the middle of a field and taught themselves how to golf with old clubs
My dad used to make his own baseballs with electrical tape and things like that
it really resonated as an inspiring story that we could all kind of get.
Had you ever heard the story before you read the book
And that’s actually kind of crazy because now
having done two true stories of crazy things that I never heard of
it kind of makes me think that there’s a lot more of these kinds of stories that we just don’t know
there’s a lot of inspiring stories that kind of get to fall to the wayside
So I’m really excited to be able to shine a light on something like this.
» SEE MORE: In 1957, this team of Hispanic golfers shocked Texas by winning state
when you’re sort of doing that classic underdog story to come up with a new and inventive way to tell
Did you find that that was a challenge for you in telling this story?
they have certain tropes and they have a structure that everybody’s seen a million times
And so that’s why I first didn’t want to do it
what I find is it’s not really a golf movie if you just don’t make it about golf – it’s about the characters and it’s about their personal struggles
But also the other beautiful part of golf is that there’s a lot of nobility to it
people have to be honest and there’s not a referee keeping track of everything you’re doing
and you have to take care of the course when nobody’s paying attention or makes it bad for everybody
So I think what it became was a story of these young guys learning to be men – contributing members of society
It’s really just a classic coming-of-age story.
South Texas has quite the reputation for chess
they have world class champion players in those high schools
is one of those sports that’s typically associated with wealth and privilege
that’s part of what makes this story as intriguing and appealing as it is
I think there’s a lot of great sports movies – boxing
like trying to get on a golf course and certainly mastering it and winning a tournament is fairly unthinkable for large segments of society
Mostly the cost – the barrier entry is very expensive
And in the fifties it was literally just based on your race
And so I think getting to see young men doing something that really is unthinkable for most people in their situation is inspiring
I had a similar thing in my last movie where
it was about these young orphans in Mexico winning a fishing tournament – the world’s biggest marlin tournament
And I just got a flurry of emails of people just
like said “I’d never fish before
and we reconnected and things.” And so it sort of expands the possibilities of what people think they’re able to do
And I think that if you can do one thing that you never thought you were able to do
I think it has potentially a domino effect.
Maybe you can shine some light on this for those who don’t know the story of these four young men in Del Rio
What was it that compelled them to refuse to say ‘no’ to that
because there are lots of things and other ways that they could have gone with their lives or with their
I think what’s interesting about it is that
part of it was the fact that they were caddies
And so what that tells me is that if you’re just exposed to something
it kind of breaks down sort of the mystique of it
People play all day and they’re starting to wonder if they could do it themselves
maybe that doesn’t seem so complicated’ and such
And so I think exposing people to new things also opens up the possibilities of what they think they could do
And then also they had the encouragement of a great mentor
So Jaime Peña was the coach who was rejected from the country club himself
So he decided to start this team with all these young caddies
one person believing in them and telling them that it’s possible and that really gives them the impetus to continue forward.
one thing that resonates with a lot of Mexican Americans is that cultural in-between thing
how did you tap into that for this film?
that’s a big part of any immigrant story
and I think I’m really Cuban until I hang out with Cubans that just got here
So that feeling of kind of being halfway between two cultures is very real
one way we illustrated that was there’s a scene where the boys go across the river at night for fun to Mexico
which everybody in South Texas has done at some point
And they realize very quickly that they’re not quite as Mexican as they thought
we’re American and we’re all just trying to figure out exactly what that means for each one of us
But that’s pretty clear that they’re not Mexican.
And then there were some portions that we shot in Colombia for the golf courses and the portion going across the river to Mexico
Did you think about actually going down to Del Rio and shooting it there or no?
One of the biggest issues is that it’s set in 1957 and Del Rio has changed a lot since then
They’ve done a good job of preserving the fifties houses and the fifties downtown
modern day Smithville feels more like 1950s than modern day Del Rio.
now your previous feature films – you’ve touched on “Blue Miracle,” “The Vessel” also centered around Latino stories
Are you seeing Hollywood backers and studios wanting these stories more these days
what about that part of the production work
it seems like there’s been a lot of articles that have come out about how big of a demographic Latino audiences are
There’s certainly more demand for more diverse content in general
But I think the Latino thing is coming up on the tail that I think that in my experience
I don’t really want to make movies that only Latinos want to watch
I think that my stories tend to be more universal than that
And so there are Latino characters and Latino settings
But I think if the stories are universal enough
And so I tend to think of my movies like they have kind of more of an American Latino kind of perspective because that’s what I am and that’s the point of view that I bring to the table.
"The Long Game" reunites director Julio Quintana with actors he worked with on his previous film
You’re working with Dennis Quaid again here
And I’m thinking about another Austin director
You mentioned you’re bringing the team back together
do you feel like you’ve built up a sort of cast of people who are going to be central figures in your movies going forward?
I had like two of the main characters from “Blue Miracle,” Jimmy Gonzales
I brought them over into this movie as well
and so I had three people from “Blue Miracle” in this movie
every time it gets a little bit less awkward every time we know what we’re going for
And I find that it creates a sense of camaraderie on set that you just say “yeah
but also let’s not do the same thing we did last time.” And so I’ve been proud
that people are saying that Dennis in this movie
they liked him better even than “Blue Miracle” – which is great for me and him
because we didn’t just do the same thing again
like my brother is my cinematographer this time and my wife was one of the producers
a big part of my life is who I hang out with
I just want to be with people who are cool and have a good time and are serious about their craft
We’ve got a lot of interest from buyers in the last week because that’s when we started sharing it with them
So hopefully it’ll be distribute here in the next couple of months
So we had really great experience with Netflix last time
but also there’s a lot of other suitors now so.
what about the state of the film industry in Texas
So have a lot of other people in the industry
Can you make it here in Texas the way that Linklater once did earlier in the day
How would you sort of characterize the industry and where it stands right now?
what I can say is that the lack of incentives obviously makes challenges for shooting here
part of why we had to shoot a couple of weeks in Colombia is because it’s so much cheaper with the incentives to go other places that you end up trying to shoot as much as you can in a different place
The golf courses – they’re generic enough that they blend together
so I have to leave my kids for two months at a time to go shoot a Texas story in another country
I hope they figure out the incentive part of the film industry because it really is quite difficult to convince producers to spend 20% more to shoot here
We have really so many talented people and so many great actors
We’re bringing actors from Texas to Colombia to shoot a Texas story
So I think if they could figure out that piece of it
then I think this place would really thrive.
so much has changed with the proliferation of streaming services that are out there
What counts for success in your book when it comes to “The Long Game”?
I really think that this movie deals with specific issues that seem to be kind of tearing us apart – you know
conversations about race and identity and things
And we don’t seem to really be able to agree on anything
And I think one thing I ask every time I would test the movie with any audience
“what do you think of the politics of this movie?” And everybody would just be confused and just say “I don’t think this is political at all
it just seems like an honest story.” And for me
is for people that don’t agree about anything
to be able to watch the movie and everybody can laugh and everybody can cry at the same time
And maybe if there’s one little thing that we can all agree on
that maybe there’s a little hope going forward
So if that’s theatrical or streaming
I don’t really care as long as everybody

SVG’s On the Pitch takes you into the control room with in-venue crews to understand what their job is like before
A brand-new season generates a fresh set of opportunities for growth and success
Real Salt Lake has an opportunity to improve its in-venue team’s skills in both production and hospitality by assisting a fellow club’s staff that is unable to cross the U.S.-Canadian border
Temporarily sharing Rio Tinto Stadium with Vancouver Whitecaps FC
the Real Salt Lake in-venue team has its own production plan but is pulling off shows for its guest
providing dedicated video content and a match-day environment that is as authentic as possible 989 miles from home
“We had a few Zoom calls before their first game because they actually played about two weeks before Real had their first game,” says Stacey Taggart
and it hasn’t felt that different since we’ve all become used to working from home.”
Real Salt Lake’s DJ Erockalypze (left) and Stacey Taggart entertain fans at Rio Tinto Stadium
both clubs will operate in a separate bubble
While Real Salt Lake uses its usual spaces Vancouver will practice at America First Field
dress in the locker room reserved for the former Utah Royals FC of the NWSL
and enter through a different entrance at Rio Tinto Stadium
are working together via Zoom to develop a run of show while his team generates videoboard content in British Columbia
“Jeremy is preparing everything for us,” Taggart explains
[Vancouver Whitecaps FC has no] fans in the stands
We have their generic crowd noise that we play the entire time
And they have specific chants that I play throughout the game
like every five minutes or so just to add more atmosphere
That has actually been fun because it’s such a contrast from what we’re doing with Real.”
A look into the control room with Mike Chidsey during a match vs
Taggart and Benjamin have operated on a relatively smooth schedule throughout the first few weeks of the season
The key is maintaining an open line of communication and staying ahead of deadlines to make sure the Real Salt Lake in-venue crew can get acclimated with the necessary elements
“We’ve been able to work out all of the kinks,” she adds
“We’ve asked them to send in their stuff about two or three days before [match day] to make sure that we have time to get their content loaded.”
After participating in the MLS Is Back Tournament in Orlando
the squad was able to return to Rio Tinto Stadium to close out the remaining few months of the season in front of 5,000 fans
As the pandemic takes a turn for the better
the franchise is now hosting upwards of 10,000 fans for the first time in over a year
The sound of real voices was an immediate shock that took getting used to
the production team is matching their intensity with its customary in-game atmosphere
In a response to the large influx of returning fans
a capability added to the videoboard allows supporters to be a part of the show
“We’ve finally introduced Tagboard to our in-stadium experience,” says Taggart explains
and we’ll feature them on the videoboard during the game
We’re trying to get that rolling and let everyone know that they can do that now.”
Real Salt Lake PA Announcer Mike Waldvogel (foreground)
is back to delivering announcements in English and Spanish
Besides the videoboard content played throughout the game
the crew is tasked with a completely different set of challenges during Whitecaps matches
Since fans living in Canada are unable to travel to Utah
Vancouver’s players are showcasing their skills inside an empty stadium
Although fake crowd noise can’t compare with the sound of thousands of screaming fans
Taggart and company are pumping in automated sounds for Whitecaps players on the pitch
“We have generic crowd noise during the entire match and specific chants that we’ll play every five minutes or so to add an atmosphere,” she says
“It has been really fun to do because it’s such a contrast from what we’re doing with Real Salt Lake.”
After only three games of a 17-game home schedule
the 2021 regular season has already added wrinkles to the in-venue team’s day-to-day responsibilities
the club’s personnel would have a handful of off days to fine-tune workflows and show segments
with a lot of weekends occupied by back-to-back productions
crew members have had to rely on their instincts
With the help of PA Announcer Mike Waldvogel
third-party contractors at Sqwak Productions
Taggart faces this unique season with enthusiasm
“Everyone that’s in the control room and the booth with us has been awesome,” she says
“They have all been crushing it this year.”

the club asks all spectators on the east side of the stadium to refrain from wearing the color white
If fans show up to the game in a white shirt the club will provide them with a free blue shirt to wear over the top
The news sparked an immediate reaction on social media with fans now consolidating with one and another to show up to the stadium in white so they can receive a free blue RSL shirt in return

In addition to new books and new teachers
students at two Ventura County schools started the academic year with new sidewalks
The county transportation department recently completed projects at Camarillo Heights STEM Academy and Rio Real School to make it easier for students to get around
Sidewalks were lacking at both of the schools
located just outside the city limits of Camarillo and Oxnard
“This is safer for students with more direct access for students to walk,” said David Fleisch
transportation director for the Ventura County Public Works Agency.
MORE: State approves funding for several Ventura County transportation projects
Fleisch said when conditions aren’t right for students to walk to school, parents tend to drive their children
this will alleviate some of that,” Fleisch said
The bulk of the project costs come from a federal grant aimed at mitigating congestion and improving air quality.
At Camarillo Heights in the Pleasant Valley School District
the total cost of the project was $1.12 million
Half of the costs came from the federal grant
the total cost of the project was $687,000; of that
The remaining costs of both projects were funded through Senate Bill 1
or the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017
Fleisch said the projects were planned long before the legislation had passed
They had received federal dollars and were waiting for a local match

A similar ceremony will take place on Sept
Camarillo Heights lacked sidewalks on Catalina and Mission drives
“It’s a hilly area and it involved significant construction and involved a retaining wall,” Fleisch said
The county worked closely with both school districts to determine their needs
Construction began in the end of June and was completed before students returned to school.
It was always difficult for walking,” said Camarillo Heights Principal Claudia Stepan
“We did the best we could with what we had.”
Stepan said she has received a lot of positive feedback from staff
“They love the look of it,” she said
“Everyone is excited about it.”
much of the roadway leading to the school was unpaved
“Kids were walking on dirt,” Fleisch said
“What this did was not only put a sidewalk on one side of the street but paved the rest of the street
The project brings a crosswalk at the school and is also expected to solve nearby drainage issues
Rio Real Principal Maria Hernandez said the students noticed the completion of the project right away
A group of students were so thankful for the improved infrastructure
they wanted to write “thank you” notes and asked to whom they should address them
We couldn’t ask for more,” Hernandez said

Rio Real Golf & Hotel forms part of the select pioneering golf courses on the Costa del Sol
its 18-hole course created by the legendary Spanish designer Javier Arana
has become something of a benchmark for golf courses in Spain and a reference for quality
In line with its mission of offering players the latest innovations
Rio Real Golf & Hotel has recently finished a project that gives players and enthusiasts the option to spend less time on a round of golf should they wish
Golf is well-known as a sport that requires time – playing the full 18 holes on a course takes in the region of 4 to 4.5 hours
The length of a round isn’t always to everyone’s taste nor do players always have time
the R&A commissioned a worldwide survey to find out what players thought about certain aspects of golf including how long it takes to play
The results revealed that most golfers (60%) would prefer a game of golf to take less time
while some players would like to see a round over more quickly
others firmly believe that golf should be played at its own pace and never in a hurry
Independently of individual tastes and opinions
one thing is for certain – the rate of play is affected by many factors
including the difficulty and conditions on a course
This is where Rio Real Golf & Hotel’s new project comes in
The latest development on this Costa del Sol golf course offers the ideal solution for those players who would prefer to more flexibility in the time they spend on a round
Rio Real Golf & Hotel has built two more exceptional quality holes on its course
Both maintain to the letter the spirit of Javier Arana
They also keep the flag flying high for the traditions and values that have made Rio Real Golf one of the benchmark golf courses on the Costa del Sol
The idea behind the two new holes is to add versatility to the golf course
The latest additions can adapt themselves to a much faster pace of play
This is vital when weather conditions mean temperatures soar or during high season when many golfers are on the course at once
The latest additions mean Rio Real Golf & Hotel is able to configure the course instantly depending on the demand from players at the time
With this innovation Rio Real Golf can adapt to the players’ requirements and in real time
It also offers a solution to the excessive length of time required to play a round of 18 holes (usually 4.5 hours)
Circle of excellence for Rio Real Golf & Hotel
Rio Real Golf & Hotel closes the circle of excellence for a golf course that lies just 3 minutes outside Marbella and a mere 10 from Puerto Banús
It boasts a tranquil location in one of the developments on the Costa del Sol and the peace and quiet of its fairways make you feel as if you were right out in the countryside
This sensation is accentuated by the stunning Mediterranean and mountains views from all 18 holes
Add to this an exclusive boutique hotel with 30 rooms
plus magnificent restaurant and Rio Real Golf & Hotel becomes one very special place

Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal who has always been shrouded in quite a bit of mystery
Lillia reveals through Tarot that Vidal is actually Death
who is supposed to be the “original green witch.”
This has not exactly been a theory that Marvel fans missed
similar to the somewhat obvious reveal that Teen was Billy Maximoff
The clues have very much been there with Vidal talking about collecting bodies and Death being said to be with them in the Oujia test
Funko Pop figure leak that named her as Death (and Billy
I sort of wish she was actually present for this reveal instead of a brief glimpse of her (seen above) to match a Tarot card
saying Vidal is Death may be somewhat confusing
Death is generally a cosmic figure in storylines
but the most famous role she’s had is a love interest for Thanos himself
What seems pretty clear is that Death is going to be used in a wildly different role here
and integrated into this whole mystical corner of the MCU with Agatha
but we have no real idea what’s happening at the end of the road for the surviving parties
Why is Death even here at all for any of this
I thought it would be good (though not all that widely watched)
but it may be the best MCU series they’ve done
Every week I cannot wait to see what happens next even if these “reveals” were not the biggest secret

Río Real Golf & Hotel has recently created two new departments to optimise income management at the golf resort located near Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol
One department is for dedicated revenue management and the other for online sales
In charge of revenue management is Patricia Sánchez who will be overseeing sales of green fees and hotel rooms at Rio Real golf resort
The new coordinator for the IT projects and online sales department is Juan José Martín
“Rio Real Golf & Hotel is fully committed to new technology,” said Antonio Gómez Cava
“We aim to stay at the forefront in the management side of our golf course as well as widening our knowledge.” He added that the company is convinced that the philosophy behind revenue management
where Rio Real Golf & Hotel leads the field
will add very positive aspects to income management since they have seen how useful it is over the last year
we want to increase profit margins on green fees management on the one hand and on the other
add solid development to our resort’s technological system,” said Gómez

Golf in Marbella - Los Naranjos and Rio Real
For the second year in a row I was fortunate enough to enjoy a spot of November golf in the Marbella sunshine

and in our particular case a mere five-minute stroll down to the marina at Puerto Banus
This stretch of coast boasts several very fine golf courses
and this kind of accommodation is just what many golfers are looking for… including a very welcome bottle of red on arrival
On this particular trip we played two contrasting courses where our hosts have negotiated reduced green fees for clients – Los Naranjos

Los Naranjos played host to the Spanish PGA Championship in 1989
when Jose Rivero had the audacity to defeat Seve in a play-off
with raised greens the order of the day on the front nine
and the back nine then playing over mostly flatter terrain
all in the lee of the Sierra Blanca mountain range and its highest peak – the distinctive La Concha
with water down the left for most of the way until you cross it nearer the green
and the testing long par-3 8th that plays to a wide green with a particularly steep false front
the 15th is a fiddly short par 4 that could goad you into attack when caution may be the wiser option due to the pond fiercely guarding the dogleg
Rio Real is a very pretty course characterised by narrow fairways
mature trees and some intriguing bunkers that
Two holes – the 4th and 5th – are set the other side of the busy A7 motorway
with the 4th taking you right down to the shore
The 5th is then an extraordinarily tough par 4
where the approach is played blind or semi-blind over a large mound and water to a treacherous green
a mid-length par 3 to a slender green wedged precariously between a rockface and a sheer drop down to the riverbed
the sudden overwhelming need for precision provides real pressure
The 5th and 6th are certainly among the most memorable back-to-back holes I’ve ever played
all golf and no culture makes Jezz a dull boy
so it was great to also venture inland to the quite spectacular Ronda Cliffs

Looking down is definitely not recommended if you’ve no head for heights
though it is worth contemplating what club you would require to safely make it across at various points
we had the very great pleasure of wining and dining at Viejos Descalzos
This once derelict property is now producing some very fine wine – the owner even opened a first-harvest 2003 on our account – and the leisurely dinner we enjoyed here gazing out over the vast valley made for a very special evening indeed
Our final treat was a wonderful meal in the Trocadero Arena beach restaurant close to the Rio Real’s seafront holes
where the varied menu was accompanied by a particularly good Entrechuelos Chardonnay
A fitting way to round off a great couple of days in the sun before our short flight back to Gatwick and the British winter

What are the consequences for the human race if we encountered extraterrestrial intelligence
led by scientists from the University of St Andrews and the SETI Institute in Mountain View
If you see a story about aliens on TV or online
published in the International Journal of Astrobiology
revamps a long-used tool for classifying potential signals from extraterrestrial intelligence
making it fit for the modern world of news and social media
the Rio Scale is a tool used by astronomers searching for extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI) to help communicate to the public ‘how excited’ they should be about what has been observed
The Scale measures the consequences for humans if the signal is from aliens
as well as the probability that the signal really is from aliens
and not a natural phenomenon or human-made
The scale gives a score between zero and ten
so that the public can quickly see how important a signal really is
"The whole world knows about the Richter Scale for quantifying the severity of an earthquake; that number is reported immediately following a quake and subsequently refined as more data are consolidated,” said Jill Tarter
“The SETI community is attempting to create a scale that can accompany reports of any claims of the detection of extraterrestrial intelligence and be refined over time as more data become available
This scale should convey both the significance and credibility of the claimed detection
Rio 2.0 is an attempt to update the scale to make it more useful and compatible with current modes of information dissemination
as well as providing means for the public to become familiar with the scale."
There have been many dubious signals reported as ‘aliens’ in recent years
and learning the truth about these stories is increasingly difficult
Duncan Forgan at the University’s Centre for Exoplanet Science
highlights the changing nature of news media
the growth of 24-hour news and the new landscape of social media
Coupled with an increase in efforts to detect ETI by teams around the world
and it must remain relevant when communicating to the public about ‘alien signals’
The international team of researchers’ revision of the Rio Scale (Rio 2.0) aims to bring consensus across academic disciplines
when classifying signals potentially indicating the existence of advanced extraterrestrial life
Rio 2.0 can quickly calibrate the public expectations of a reported signal
and educate them as to how SETI scientists actually evaluate a signal
from its initial detection through the various verification stages needed to determine if a signal is credibly from ETI
Key to the research is also the development of a single set of consistent terminology for discussing signals
The team has published an online Rio Scale Calculator
an interactive tool for scientists and science communicators to evaluate signals and give advice on how to use it for better reporting of ETI in the media
said: “It’s absolutely crucial that when we talk about something so hugely significant as the discovery of intelligent life beyond the Earth
Having Rio 2.0 allows us to rank a signal quickly in a way that the general public can easily understand
and helps us keep their trust in a world filled with fake news.”
The new Rio Scale has now been submitted to the International Academy of Astronautics Permanent Committee on SETI for official ratification

Back in April
Real Salt Lake said they were installing nearly 6,500 solar panels at Rio Tinto Stadium
RSL owner Dell Loy Hansen was joined by the region's business and political leaders in flipping the switch to activate the largest solar array in the State of Utah
in partnership with Auric Solar and Rocky Mountain Power
Rio Tinto Stadium's 2,020-kilowatt system of solar panels installed on the existing stadium structure as well as new covered parking areas nearby are now operational to offset 73 percent of Real Salt Lake's total annual stadium power needs
It's the largest offset among North American professional sports and entertainment venues
The ambitious project was initiated back in April, took six months to complete and includes enough solar panels to cover a soccer field
"We have partnered with both Rocky Mountain Power and Auric Solar to increase our power efficiency while hosting more than 50 massive events each year in Sandy," said Hansen in a release
whose venue hosts both the United States and Mexico on Saturday and Tuesday in the Semifinals and Finals for CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying
"The new solar covered parking structures have improved the quality of parking options for our nearly 16,000+ season ticket holders and provide our State and the surrounding environment with the largest solar energy offset for any U.S
The environmental impact of the new solar array carries the carbon-dioxide reduction equivalent of removing 450 cars from the road or planting 47,278 trees annually
while providing enough power to light and heat 284 homes for a calendar year
RIO FERDINAND showed "respect" as he avoided stepping on Real Madrid's badge
The former Manchester United star, 45, was at the Santiago Bernabeu to watch Madrid snatch an incredible victory at the death against Bayern Munich to seal their place in the Champions League final
Ahead of his punditry duties for TNT Sports, Ferdinand walked out of the tunnel to get a look at the pitch
he took extra care not to stomp all over Real's badge
He subsequently posted a clip to social media
Ferdinand then giddily added: "Ps best stadium in the world right now!"
Some sections of the iconic Bernabeu remain closed as they continue their huge renovation
Real Madrid spent the 2020-21 season playing at their Valdebebas training facility while initial work was done.
The completed ground was due to be opened five months ago, but has now been pushed back to the summer.
Real's renovation work will see their Santiago Bernabeu home house a capacity of 85,000 fans, up from 81,000.
And among the latest features are a retractable roof and pitch as well as a new 450-space car park underneath
While Real Madrid chiefs initially claimed the total cost of the renovation would be just over £860million, Spanish economist Hector Mohedano has worked out that it will actually come to around £1.5bn

They looked to be comfortable heading towards full time and holding Madrid at bay until disaster struck
Then seconds later the ex-Stoke City and Newcastle flop finished from six yards to win it 2-1

Tito Ortiz and Alberto Del Rio are set to throw hands
feet and everything in between (or at least
the elbows and the knees) Saturday at a Combate Americas “Winner Take All” MMA pay-per-view event on FITE TV
The offense on display there will be the real deal
not the “working” pro-wrestling punches that Del Rio (who now professionally goes by Alberto El Patrón
his real name is José Alberto Rodríguez) so famously threw in his days as WWE Champion
however — Patrón has a pretty impressive professional mixed martial arts record of 9-5
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Ortiz is 20-12 in the sport that he helped bring to the mainstream masses
but the Huntington Beach Bad Boy also has some professional wrestling experience
We asked both men about the challenge of going back and forth between firing off real punches in the cage and fake ones in the squared circle
said his transition to professional wrestling and its pulled punches was made easier by his film work
“I understood it because I was able to shoot some movies
having to be able to throw the punches as a visual for the camera
and make it look like you hit the guy,” Ortiz
“When I did TNA (Total Nonstop Impact wrestling)… I punched Jeff Jarrett and I actually punched him — on accident
‘You son of a bitch’ — after he woke up.”
“I think it’s a little easier than doing it the opposite way
of trying to learn to throw a harder punch compared to pulling a punch,” he added
“It takes some time,” former WWE Superstar Del Rio told us
“When I restarted training for this fight
at the beginning I was not as trained in my punches
There’s a whole way to connect and that was one of the things that all of my coaches have been working with me
why are you doing that?’ And I’m like
“And when we were doing amateur wrestling and they would punch me
I would go down,” El Patrón continued
I need to reset everything and forget about pro wrestling for a while.’”
I’m not doing any pro-wrestling shows
I haven’t been doing that for a while
But I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be a little bit difficult for my opponents,” El Patrón said
“Whenever I go back into a pro-wrestling show
I’m 100% sure that I’m going to kick or punch one or two guys more than I should have
but in one you have to perform and go 100% and the other one you just have to entertain.”
I’ve learned how to throw a [working] punch a lot better,” Ortiz told TheWrap
so I’m trying to punch through everything…I’m trying to knock things out.”
“I’m intelligent enough to know when I need to put it on and when I don’t need to put it on,” Ortiz
a self-proclaimed “huge WWE fan,” said
Ortiz’s fandom adds even more intrigue to this bout
The “Winner Take All” title here is quite literal — and it literally has to do with title belts

which Ortiz tells us will soon go on the shoulders of his sons

the agents responsible for carrying and transmitting the virus to humans
As many as 500,000 visitors were expected to converge on Rio for the 2016 Olympic Games
raising concerns about the possibility of furthering the international spread of Zika
Travelers who became infected in Brazil could potentially take the virus to previously unaffected countries
Of special concern were countries already inhabited by A
since the virus could spread quickly by mosquitoes once introduced
In the week before the start of the 2016 Olympics, however, new research showed that the risk of Zika infection and transmission among travelers was low
Analyses predicted that between 3 and 37 travelers would become infected
the majority of travelers would be returning to countries where the risk of mosquito transmission was negligible
infected men having unprotected sex would be the most likely means of Zika transmission in those places
Many travelers were also expected to take individual precautionary measures and would be staying in hotels where screens and air-conditioning would make mosquito transmission unlikely

Alberto Del Rio filed a breach of contract lawsuit in July against the MMA promotion Combate Americas (Combate Global) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York
Del Rio – real name José Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan – has alleged that he was owed $250,000 for his MMA fight with Tito Ortiz
and that the promotion maintained control of his social media accounts after his relationship with the Defendants ended
Rodriguez alleges he signed an agreement in September 2016 to become a “co-spokesman
liaison for fighter relations and brand ambassador” for ‘Combate Americas LLC’
The lawsuit states that this agreement was terminated in July 2017
but Combate allegedly later made an offer for Rodriguez to fight Tito Ortiz with the agreement being he’d be paid $500,000 to promote the bout
and alleges the company has ignored invoices for the payment of $250,000 for the actual fight
Rodriguez has alleged that Combate refuse to answer questions about his social media accounts
after he allegedly gave the promotion access to the accounts to promote the fight
The lawsuit alleges that the two parties no longer have a working relationship
conversion (for not turning over the social media accounts)
Combate filed paperwork with the court regarding their representation on September 30
but are yet to respond to Rodriguez’ suit
The court approved the attorney on October 1
