The Santa Marta Center was created in 1962 by the initiative of mothers of students from the Santa Maria School together with the Institute of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The institution promotes the reception, coexistence and learning of families in vulnerable situations, contributing to their training, access and permanence in the job market. The activities are carried out by volunteers and Sisters, with the support of staff. For more than 60 years, its headquarters have been located in an old stable at the back of the school grounds. In 2012, the first studies for an extension were carried out. In 2014, emergency renovations were carried out in order to avoid discontinuing activities. In 2020, a multidisciplinary team was organized to draw up the Needs Programme. Construction began in 2022, with inauguration in 2024. Services were not interrupted during construction. The square is organized based on the location of centenary trees where an amphitheatre made up of bleachers has been proposed to contemplate nature Four blocks are based on this configuration: Block 1 houses the women's training rooms Block 3 caters for children and adolescents and Block 4 houses adult care and support such as a cafeteria A network of squares and paths provide opportunities to meet in addition to those proposed in the Needs Program The Welcome Square is made up of benches and planters The Integration Square uses the shade of a large tree as a space for socializing The children's block is surrounded by play areas and a multi-sports court You'll now receive updates based on what you follow Personalize your stream and start following your favorite authors If you have done all of this and still can't find the email The studio’s delicate intervention primarily focused on furnishings to avoid detracting from the building’s original features such as its dramatic gothic arches Luxury today is more about connection and indulging one’s curiosity for life and less about exclusivity and passive leisure people are looking for a design that feels meaningful that tells a story and communicates care and intention this meant blurring the line between the property and the island outside of its doors by emphasising the open-air quality of the spaces and the indoor-outdoor feel by modernising its historic qualities to almost bring them into high-relief - to make them pop and stand out," Keffer explains In the guest rooms, the headboard—composed of a subdued, richly woven upholstered tapestry screen—exhibits the concepts of layers, slow design and woven elements. Discover all the hidden gems of Orange County Rockwell Group has reimagined the interiors for Posada Terra Santa in Mallorca marking a new era for the small Spanish boutique hotel was founded in 2014 by Ignacio Jiménez and Carmen Cordón when it once served as an epicentre of commerce and trade on the popular Mediterranean island Jiménez and Cordón commissioned Rockwell Group to revitalise their 26-bedroom hotel with a fresh new look built on four pillars: heritage Rockwell Group subtly nods to the building’s traditional coat of arms which features a majestic deer and can still be spotted by guests on the façade of the main elevation Taking a delicate approach with light intervention the studio primarily focused on enhancing the furniture offering fixtures and equipment and sparingly implemented new architectural finishes to avoid detracting from the inherent beauty and heritage of the original features in the space Rockwell Group decided to practice slow design to ensure the hotel’s sense of place and originality wasn’t lost A more sustainable approach to luxury means that the interiors maintain their connection to surrounding tradition The design studio took inspiration from local craftsmanship and art inherent to the Balearic Islands It translated these elements into the final finishes and furnishings for its reimagination of Posada Terra Santa Rockwell Group continued to revisit the idea of layers: layers of history where they can stumble across relics of centuries past subconsciously creating a rich connection to place and the past The studio’s design language expresses these layers through architectural forms As guests cross the entry and enter an open-air courtyard they sense the splendour of the hotel’s interior with its vibrant terracotta-coloured plaster walls Rockwell Group readdressed the lighting and furniture in the exterior courtyard and interior reception to set the tone The design studio maintained a neutral colour palette allowing the richness of the other furniture materials to stand out such as the raw wood reception desk and natural stone tables The Salón Inglés is a series of three multifunctional rooms in which various experiences can take place from breakfast in the morning to meetings and evening events modular furniture is flexible and adaptable and can easily be moved around for various functions Rockwell Group chose naturally textured carpets and raw wood to continue Posada Terra Santa’s main reception area Rockwell Group has injected more colour and texture into the hotel restaurant by adding layers and moments of discovery which distinguishes the space from the arrival area and Salón The restaurant transitions into a more colourful terracotta palette Raw materials tie the space to local artisanal craftsmanship and selected artwork pays homage to traditional natural grass weavings and architectural finishes unglazed terracotta entrance wall and privacy screen by the kitchen area The hotel’s bar area immerses guests in saturated terracotta tones Various woven seating options are available providing ample opportunity for relaxation The bar’s styling highlights clay pottery displays similar to the large clay jars original to the building The headboard acts as the centrepiece of the guestrooms at Posada Terra Santa by intertwining the ideas of layers richly woven upholstered tapestry screen frames the headboard and added a luxurious travertine vanity to all bathrooms The colour in the guestrooms is bold and saturated marking the ultimate destination of the guests’ journey throughout the hotel spaces The rooftop redesign comprises three areas: dining Rockwell Group diverged from the terracotta colour throughout the rest of the hotel and referenced the Mallorca Llegües a traditional ikat weaving that can be found primarily in three original colours: blue the design studio chose to celebrate cobalt blue accented by black metallic framing in umbrellas and carefully considered pieces of furniture Registered in England and Wales with Company Number 06637145 We are using cookies to give you the best experience on our website You can find out more Five Gothic arches are the highlight of the restored interior while the façade’s Renaissance window with the original coat of arms—the emblem emblazoned with a deer belonging to the barons of Boixador the former residents—inspired the building’s second act After debuting a decade ago, Hidden Away Hotels enlisted Rockwell Group’s Madrid-based team to continue building on the historic hotel’s rich narrative with a design philosophy centered around sustainable luxury and what already exists culturally “We saw the building as providing a fabulous canvas—the vibrant terracotta walls and indoor-outdoor living,” says Eva Longoria studio leader and principal at Rockwell Group in Madrid “This inherent vibrancy called for a neutral palette that would allow us to shine a spotlight on special such as the raw wood reception desk or natural stone tables.” saturated color coming from the rouge woven tapestry headboards our materials nod to the craftsmanship of the island: weaving the palette shifted from the terracotta shade threaded throughout the rest of the hotel to cobalt blue inspired by one of the original colors found in Mallorcan llengües typical ikat woven patterned textiles synonymous with the island is celebrated with bamboo- and braided grass-woven wicker furniture we interpreted this [artistry] in the form of more textured fabrics that evoke a sense of place and tradition passed down through generations,” explains Longoria Inspired by the island’s centuries-old pottery tradition stemming from clay fields in Marratxí and Pòrtol the design studio incorporated the use of both glazed and raw ceramics in the form of terracotta tiles lining the bar and entrance to gastronomic restaurant La Despensa del Barón which unfolds under the arrow-shaped Gothic arches Wall-length shelves of cream and caramel vases and large clay planters—an homage to the jars found during the initial restoration—serve as the main décor “Our materials nod to the craftsmanship of the island: weaving “One of the challenges in working with this historic property was creating an immersive environment while also maintaining a light touch,” explains Longoria “We needed to hone in on how we could achieve a compelling narrative and concept with furnishings and only a few architectural interventions I think the rebirth of the hotel is perfectly timed for a fresh season and era.” © 2023 Hudson One Media, LLC. school gathered on Saturday morning in the courtyard of the Terra Sancta High School in Jerusalem to pray for peace and the safety of their peers in Gaza but rather about letting children speak for themselves Their words carry an extraordinary intensity that also demonstrates the profound awareness and maturity of these young people Those growing up here are undoubtedly forced to mature faster than elsewhere not only those in Gaza but also those in Jenin and Tel Aviv are suffering now," said Father Ibrahim Faltas director of the 19 Catholic schools managed by the Custody of the Holy Land in a crescendo that moved everyone present "These children and young people live in East Jerusalem," said the Custos of the Holy Land "but they feel a true sense of fraternity with their peers closer to together in peace and to appreciate the values of the Pope’s encyclical Fratelli tutti “We are all brothers and sisters,” he said the special prayer of this morning was a very articulated one with different prayers in accordance with the different classes of the children He specified that the prayer focused only on peace and had no words that would promote or justify violence “I think that this is a very important part of the education of the children because in a complex society and in a conflictual society it is essential to educate to the values of peace and fraternity,” said the Custos of the Holy Land Patton noted that around 60,000 children attend Catholic schools run by the Friars Minor and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem “They are the only real hope that this land may one day know a future of peace,” he added Among the many hand-drawn placards at the prayer on Saturday was one depicting a young child patting her father on the back TrendingCommercialLos AngelesATerra on March 16, 2024 in: News This year’s Vatican financial appeal for the Holy Land highlights the urgent humanitarian crisis facing the beleaguered population in Gaza and the pope’s plea for peace.  The lack of pilgrims and tourists has put thousands of families in difficulty,” Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches 65% of the funds collected are earmarked for the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land which has maintained the holy places of Christianity in the region for more than 800 years The Franciscan Custody also uses the funds for humanitarian and The remaining 35% is given to the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches to support seminarians and priests as well as educational and cultural activities According to last year’s summary report the Pontifical Collection raised the equivalent of just over $7 million of which about $3.7 million was used to support the formation of seminarians and religious brothers and sisters Another roughly $2.5 Francis has never ceased to express his closeness to all those affected by the conflict in the Holy Land,” Cardinal Gugerotti wrote “The Holy Father intends to carry out a project with humanitarian Trustee of the Charity commented: "Our service began with fifteen patients on 1st August Today we care for 42 patients including two children Demand for care increases every week and there is a huge amount of unmet care need. The Charity's ambition is to develop and extend the service beyond Bethlehem into other towns and villages in the OPT so as to extend a compassionate hand to those who are suffering to enhance their quality of life on a daily basis We are seeking support in this really important work because under constant difficulties and deprivations these communities do not have the resources to provide for their terminally ill and elderly themselves Every contribution makes a real difference in enabling some of the world's most vulnerable people who have spent much of their lives under the shadow of injustice and warfare to spend their final days pain free and with some dignity and we ask those who share our compassion to join us in making this vision a practical reality." breakfast we were trying to decide what to do for the day We hopped on our phones to do some research and came across a mention of a 60 foot plastic Jesus statue that rises every hour That sounded so unique that I insisted it be at the top of our list of things to do I didn’t realize at the time quite how fascinating this would be I assumed it was just a lonely statue somewhere the world’s first religious theme park Once we plotted out our plan and got ready to go we decided to stop by the concierge desk for some reassurance — “Tierra Santa any thoughts?” She tried to control her laughter and didn’t say anything “So how long should we plan on spending there Is there anything other than the 20 meter Jesus statue?” She shook her head and continued laughing which is located right next to the domestic airport in Buenos Aires I don’t think there are words that can do justice to this place The outside (and for that matter inside) of the park is interestingly decorated with kitschy palm trees with everyone in “costume.” We first purchased our tickets for 60 Pesos each (~$12USD) and as we walked in the park were approached by one of the workers where I figured there would be a cast of actors Here’s the description of The Nativity: Tierra Santa is proud of offering visitors the  biggest animated nativity in the world which can be seen by 400 people This attraction has real size figures and an amazing show of light and sound It will undoubtedly be the favourite show of the families visiting the park No fewer than two of the “real size figures” in this show had any sort of movements And it wasn’t as much of a “show” as selectively shining the spotlight on certain parts of the stage to tell a story After this there was a bit of a disagreement in our group as we tried to decide between doing The Creation or The Last Super next We decided to stop for a glass of wine at the restaurant fittingly named Arca de Noe (Noah’s Arc) In addition to that the park also had a place with waffles on a stick… I think After that we headed over to the next showing of The Last Supper In the pamphlet this is described as follows: this is the most touching show of the Park sitting at the table with the twelve apostles sound and movement becomes a moment of devotion and spirituality for all visitors The use of lighting really did add to the experience since there was very limited movement among the “real size figures.” That show only lasted for about five minutes light and sound based on a free interpretation of the biblical passage which describes the origin of life on the Earth the water and all the living beings that inhabited the universe from the beginning of times are part of this incredible attraction that lasts 15 minutes and can be enjoyed by 170 people I think the key is the part of about “free interpretation” of The Bible This was actually the most high budget show Adam and Eve (who looked more like a guy with a blonde wig on than “Eve”) even made an appearance at the end though I think Eve’s mechanics were a bit off because only Adam turned a full 180 degrees After that we had almost 30 minutes to kill before The Resurrection so we visited some of the non-show displays of the park A donkey and camel merry go round (which sadly was closed)… Finally at 3:50PM it was time for The Resurrection In Tierra Santa you will always witness the appearance of an impressive 18 meter tall Jesus with 36 mechanical movements the special effects and the Jesus blessing everybody create the ideal atmosphere to live a magical experience in the Park We were seated in the “theater” to watch this and this probably had the biggest crowd of all the attractions Here’s a video of The Resurrection I found on YouTube: After that we walked up to the top of the park which had nice views of the rest of the park and the water park next door So that’s how we spent about four hours of our day yesterday in Buenos Aires If you ever find yourself in Buenos Aires and are looking for a unique experience I must say: people say that Church doesn't modernize The only thing better than an 18 foot Jesus being resurrected hourly in the middle of a religious theme park is an 18 foot Jesus being resurrected hourly in the middle of a religious theme park featuring Ghandi and belly dancers We watched The Beauty and The Beast play all in Spanish in BA we knew the song and story but it is weird not understand the music anyway we had a great time in BA and looking forward to go back there I was amused that the park embraces non-Christian role models The belly dancing show was also entertaining first because I suspect that belly dancing was non-existent during the time of Jesus which makes the whole experience even more entertaining I read this and the thought that continued to come into my head was the episode of The Simpsons where Ned Flanders built a religious theme park i feel so fortunate i will never visit this place Guarenteed you will be able to ride the horse and hit the ball after an hour http://poloelite.com/polo-in-ba/lessons.html This is one of those things a blogger can do for fun because it can drive traffic and humor I would spend 4 hours eating in La Cabrera and having icecream in Freddo or Persico rather than in a Jesus Park @lucky You obviously missed the show "religulous" by bill maher He highlights Creation Museum and Holy Land No blog entry would be complete without pointing out the Creationist Museum sitting in America's heartland which runs through the 7,000 years of the universe's history: http://creationmuseum.org/ Give it a few years the land will be sold for high rises So you're saying there is absolutely nothing worth seeing in BA Are you going to rest up this afternoon in preparation for your visit to the Water Park tomorrow Should have said world's first -- and not only -- religious theme park heheh okay..this is living proof why there should always be a separation of church and state This sounds like it's second only to the Astronomical Clock in Prague's Old Town Square for most awesome tourist attraction that's totally worth seeing Ah, no. Never rule out Orlando when theme parks are concerned: http://www.holylandexperience.com/ The entire park looks like The Born Again Flintstones I could have jewed them down to 180 for four of you Your feedback is important in helping us keep our community safe The comments on this page have not been provided approved or otherwise endorsed by any advertiser and it is not an advertiser's responsibility to ensure posts and/or questions are answered You have successfully joined our subscriber list Editorial Disclosure: The editorial content on this page is not provided by any entity mentioned herein. clashes between Israel and Hezbollah The Syrian army will continue to fight "terrorist groups" in the north of the country which "understand only the language of force," the president of Syria said Bashar al Assad during a telephone conversation with Badra Gunba the pro-government Syrian news agency SANA reported Assad said that the groups that have been waging an offensive in the northwest of the country since November 27 “do not represent the Syrian people or state institutions but rather serve the interests of their foreign financiers.” The President stressed Syria’s determination to “defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity committing to continue operations against terrorists and those who support them in cooperation with allied forces.” The armed factions led by Hayat distinguished academic Salomi Papadima-Sophocleous an established Cypriot academic who lived and worked in Melbourne for 23 years had announced the forthcoming edition of her book entitled 100 YEARS of History From Terra Santa to Saint Mary’s School of Lemesos (1923-2023) in which she explores the history and operation of the school in a time when Cyprus was still under British occupation the school “has been operating for 100 consecutive years under the direction of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart and with the initial aim of educating the Catholic children of the Latin Community of Cyprus.” The academic said that from the start,” the school “realised that in addition to the children of the Latin Catholic community the curriculum it offered also attracted other students whose families appreciated the school’s values and sent their children to be educated there.” This only meant that the school realised the need “to accept their diverse identity” and to “implement a form of multilingualism and multiculturalism theorised and widely applied as concepts by the scientific community.” Papadima-Sophocleous concludes that “the purpose of the school continues to be the education of male and female students based on anthropocentric and Christian values and principles which will be useful in their later life as well as in their preparation for their academic and professional endeavours and career as well as in shaping them to citizens with ethos and willingness to contribute to the social economic and cultural life of Cyprus and beyond.” The established academic of Applied Linguistics believes that her book “maps the hundred-year history of the school and its wider contribution to the educational activities of the place incorporating rare archival and photographic material.” Papadima-Sophocleous is a renowned academic author having either authored or contributed to more than twenty-five books she has contributed chapters to more than an equal number of volumes She also has an impressive record of publications in academic journals While in Australia – where she spent most of her professional life – Papadima-Sophocleous taught French served as a language learning materials development for the Department of Education of Victoria and taught worked Teaching Languages Methodologies and Computer Assisted Language Learning at La Trobe University and RMIT University She is currently a researcher at the Cyprus Interaction Lab at Cyprus University of Technology Ancient treasure: Workers secure one of the columns from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for transport to the archeology wing of the Franciscan Terra Santa Museum in Jerusalem's Old City MOVING a 4.7-tonne piece of an ancient marble column is never easy When the piece is from a column that was once part of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre making sure it is transported safely is all the more important Restoration experts moved the column last week – to be followed by several others – from the hermitage garden of the Church of Gethsemane to the Franciscan Terra Sancta Museum in Jerusalem’s Old City project manager of the Pro-Terra Sancta nongovernmental organisation and a team of Italian restoration experts from Restorers Without Borders felt relieved when the piece reached the archaeology wing of the museum The piece is one of several segments from two pillars in addition to two ornate decorative column tops – known as Corinthian capitals – that have been kept at the garden on the Mount of Olives since 1969 following renovations at the church It will take a week to transport the remaining pieces as restorers use a special forklift strong enough to carry the massive segments yet small enough to maneuver inside the narrow streets of the Old City The museum is located on the grounds of the Church of the Flagellation on the eastern side of the Via Dolorosa near the Lions’ Gate “It is a roller coaster of emotions,” Ms Cibin said “I feel very happy because it is a great achievement after so many years to give these pieces a new life and to give people the opportunity to experience these pieces again and the story they can tell.” Cibin said she has felt a huge weight of the responsibility in moving such a significant piece of history “It is very exciting but it also very stressful,” she said The architectural elements were discovered in 1969 during major restoration work of the Anatasis a small wood building containing Jesus’ tomb They were found inside a wall in the northern side of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in an area administered by Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land The wall was built during the British mandate period in Palestine from 1917 to 1948 to replace the colonnade which had become fragile over time Withstanding the natural elements over the years has added to the fragility of the column pieces which also were damaged in the past by a fire and an earthquake Moving the architectural elements required careful planning who leads the team of Italian conservators “Our first challenge is not to break the columns We don’t want to lose any piece,” he said He said the pinkish-veined marble is most likely from a local quarry Some samples were taken for dating analysis The experts believe they originally came from a Roman temple built over the place of Jesus’ burial during the reign of Hadrian (117-138 CE) – but may actually have been reused from King Herod’s time The pillars were likely again reused during the construction of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in the 11th century during the Byzantine period Preparing the pieces for transportation involved releasing them from the cement bases used to hold them in place The pieces were cleaned using a special organic mixture which includes oregano and was developed for use in the Vatican museums using thermography to identify cracks in the marble some of which are not visible to the unaided eye Thermography detects cracks by measuring the temperature variations on the surface of the stone which will be colder in places where minute fissures have developed Mr Coronas said workers did not conceal all cracks discovered because they constituted part of the history of the pieces “In the museum it will be nice to tell their story and show also the damage they have suffered,” he said the team discovered ancient graffiti on the columns including initials and crosses carved into the marble Remnants of ancient paint were still visible on a section of a column despite decades of exposure to the natural elements Special structures were set up inside the museum to move the pieces from the entrance to their permanent exhibition space “Inside the museum we can’t use machinery so it is really using a lot of manpower to move them,” Ms Cibin said “We have to be very careful not only because of the ancient stones but because it is also very dangerous to move such big stones The Catholic Leader is an Australian footage shows the moment a man was forced to bite a giant anaconda to stop himself from being crushed to death in a Brazilian river An onlooker filmed the terrifying near-death experience as the man sinks his teeth into the huge snake as it wrapped itself around him The video shows how he struggled with the powerful reptile as he stood in chest-deep water the man chomps down on the snake near its head while another man can be seen grabbing its tail and a third tries to uncoil the water boa from a wooden boat More than half a minute passes until it eventually gives up and unwraps itself from its would-be victim The victim's friend then grabs it by the neck as it is raised onto the boat in Terra Santa It is not known if the man sustained injuries after grappling with the powerful snake Anaconda attacks are rare but can occur in the rivers and creeks of the Amazon jungle is one of the largest snakes in the world but is not venomous They can grow to more than eight metres long and can weigh more than 200kg they wrap their body around the animal and use their brute strength to squeeze it until it can no longer breathe The attack comes weeks after two giant pythons were discovered in a British woodland.  The non-venemous snakes, which can grow up to six-feet long, are not big enough to kill an adult but could attack children and small pets.  A ball python, also known as a royal python was spotted in Huntsham Wood in Tiverton, Devon on August 30.  And two days later, a similar snake was found in the same area. Staff from Tropiquaria Zoo, in Watchet, Somerset, came to rescue the animals which appeared to have been well-fed and cared for. However as the snakes were found close together, experts believe they were likely deliberately abandoned by their owners. Ball pythons live in grasslands, shrublands and open forests of west and central Africa and would struggle to survive in the wild during a British winter. the humanitarian needs of its faith community This sum adds on to over €120 million contributions donated over the past 10 years for the needs of the Holy Land This generosity is as old as the bond that ties the Order to the Holy Places Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre “We are in constant contact with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem on the humanitarian needs and concerns of the local Christian communities so as to be prepared to intervene as required” interviewed by SIR the Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre described the efforts put in place by 30,000 Knights and Dames worldwide to help the Mother Church of Jerusalem in its response to Covid-19 This is a long-standing commitment that was further intensified in the past months of the pandemic which no world region was spared by the Coronavirus to varying degrees.” The numbers speak for themselves: in Israel over 8300 infections were reported at the end of last week alone Cases have doubled in less than a month: from 100,000 to 200,000 infected There are just under 50,000 cases in the Palestinian Territories Your Eminence could you describe us the Order’s commitment for Christians in the Holy Land The institutional purpose of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre is to strengthen the Christian life of its members charitable and social works and institutions of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land especially those of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem We learned that our institutions in the Holy Land were also suffering the impact of the lack of pilgrims as a result of Covid-19 The Holy Land draws its vital resources from the pilgrimages and the tourism that sustain the livelihood of thousands of Christian families Thus emerged the idea of a ‘Covid-19 Humanitarian Support Fund’ to which our 30,000 Knights and Dames have generously contributed attesting to their deep love for the Mother Church of Jerusalem And if a mother finds herself in difficulty Our support stems from the deep spiritual roots that bind us all to the Holy Land especially to the institutions that keep the presence of the local Church alive Should we neglect supporting our Christians in the Holy Land their presence would be at risk of disappearing and the Holy Places would be reduced to museums or tourist sites We must therefore ensure sustenance for vibrant heirs to the Mother Church of Jerusalem on which we all depend How is the newly established Fund responding to the needs of local Christian communities the Fund has collected three million Euros in addition to the ordinary contribution sent every month to the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Three areas have been funded through local institutions schools: we have approximately 50 educational institutions attended not only by Christians but also by students of other faiths As confirmed by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem to pay the school fees of 1,238 families in Jordan and 1,180 in Palestine We are also financing various facilities providing care for the elderly families: thanks to contributions from the Fund the Latin Patriarchate has been able to support over 2,400 families in more than 30 parishes with food vouchers sanitation products and supplies for children also ensuring a fair distribution of resources we will continue sending aids so as not to abandon those in need Is there a ‘style’ that accompanies the Order in its activities The style is reflected in the goals set for the Order by the Popes which are essentially two: the sanctification of its members and support for the Holy Land These are the two legs that allow the Order to walk but since we are an Order emanated from the Church our members are bound by a spiritual commitment The connection to the Holy Sepulchre is a powerful reminder of the mystery of the death and resurrection of our Lord This is also why the dames and knights must maintain close ties with their local churches I would like to add that a document has been prepared on the spirituality of the Order that will deepen our vocation and mission deeply rooted in the Word of God and in the Tradition of the Church thereby deepening the religious significance of membership in the Order May last Pope Francis approved the new Charter of the Order… This approval is a valuable gift that formally confirms the Order as a central body of the Catholic Church and encourages us to serve the Holy Land with ever greater commitment We are entrusted with attending to the ‘Body’ of Christ manifested in the living extending our gaze to the Middle East – a region you are familiar with as Apostolic Nuncio to Jordan and Iraq (2001-2006) - how do you view the current situation in this area of the world marked by decades of conflict with an escalation in other areas such as Syria and growing tensions in Iraq and Lebanon Peace and stability appear to be a mirage… I think we should ask ourselves whether this region with hundreds of thousands of people killed and wounded millions of displaced persons and refugees is doomed to continue being forced to live in this seemingly hopeless reality As Holy See we have constantly proposed the path of dialogue It is essential to overcome a conflicting perspective I believe that the People of the Book: Christians break away from the logic of conflict and demonstrate that it is possible to look to the future together I met many Christians whose lives have been scarred by wars worried about the future of their children They faced the choice of leaving or staying – confiding in a positive development the Abrahamic root will generate harmony and bear good fruits I have in mind the current relations between Israel Egypt and Jordan: there are difficulties but also many positive aspects Why not extend this dialogue also to other countries In such a torn Middle East could the Document on “Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed in Abu Dhabi by Pope Francis and the Great Imam of al-Azhar the Encyclical “All Brothers” will be released in a few days… But if we are not to lose this revolutionary aspect The good that has unfolded must no longer encounter closed doors must participate in this journey now begun Scarica l’articolo in pdf / txt / rtf / Informativa sulla Privacy The footage shows the anaconda coiled around the victim's body(Image: Supplied )A video of a man
