The money is being delivered through the provincial department responsible for culture and tourism. The province cited economic pressures as a reason for bolstering local events that draw tourism and support jobs. The announcement was made in Winnipeg, with officials noting that the festival has long been a major attraction for visitors and artists from across Canada and beyond. Dauphin’s Countryfest, launched in 1990, is billed as Canada’s longest-running country music festival. A non-profit board runs it and relies on more than 2,000 volunteers to operate each year. Along with well-known performers, the festival regularly features up-and-coming artists from Manitoba. The event is held at the Selo Ukraina amphitheatre site, located about 10 kilometres south of Dauphin. The 2025 festival is scheduled to run from June 26 to 29. According to the province, the festival supports the local tourism sector and contributes to various community programs in the Dauphin region. The City of Dauphin and nearby businesses see a significant boost from the tens of thousands of attendees who visit annually. Organizers welcomed the funding, calling it essential to keeping the festival running after several financially tricky years. Duane McMaster, president of Dauphin’s Countryfest, said the board was “beyond thrilled” with the provincial support. This year’s lineup is expected to include several returning headliners and a new wave of Canadian country artists, though a full roster has yet to be released. In recent years, performers such as Keith Urban, Dallas Smith, and the Washboard Union have taken the stage at the festival. No further grant commitments have been announced beyond the one-time support for 2025. The province did not say whether similar events could expect funding in future years, but indicated that this grant was in response to current economic challenges. No timeline was provided for the completion of the project Nepinak says the multi-million dollar investment will return many millions of dollars to the communities over the next few decades.  The Manitoba government is providing $500,000 in one-time grant funding to ensure the continued success of Dauphin’s Countryfest Heritage and Tourism Minister Nellie Kennedy announced today “As Manitobans are increasingly impacted by tariffs down south it’s important to preserve the organizations here at home that create economic activity drive tourism and support culture – making us proud,” said Kinew “Supporting this event will make sure country music lovers can continue to kick off their summer with first-class entertainment.” With the help of more than 2,000 volunteers Dauphin’s Countryfest is the longest-running Canadian country music festival In addition to internationally well-known and well-established headliners the festival frequently showcases local Manitoba-based artists “Dauphin’s Countryfest has played an important role in launching the careers of Manitoba artists and is a driving force in supporting the vitality of the Dauphin area and community,” said Kennedy “Our government is proud to provide this grant funding to ensure the festival’s continued success.” Dauphin’s Countryfest is an important event for the City of Dauphin which relies on the festival’s success to provide important investments that drive economic activity in the region adding the festival also supports a variety of community initiatives and organizations “Our board is beyond thrilled with the provincial government’s acknowledgement of just how vital a role we play in Manitoba,” said Duane McMaster “We are truly thankful to be able to invite all Manitobans to once again join us at Canada’s longest-running country music festival not just this year but for many years to come.” The 2025 festival runs from June 26 to 29 at the Selo Ukraina site To learn more about Dauphin’s Countryfest, visit https://countryfest.ca/ Who do you want to see win the Stanley Cup in 2025 Established in March of 2016 www.bdnmb.ca is a community focused website dedicated to the promotion and growth of local businesses and organizations in Brandon Our goal and is to become your personal online connection to the Wheat City We offer some creative online advertising options and promotional tools to help you grow your business Contact us: darryl@bdnmb.ca, jody@bdnmb.ca The provincial government is giving $255,000 for 17 community-based climate plan projects in Manitoba The City of Dauphin has been awarded $15,000 in funding which will be allocated toward the development of a climate adaptation plan Justin Tokarchuk is the city's information and communications technology manager.  "It feels absolutely amazing," said Tokarchuk "I'm very excited to be able to work towards climate adaptation in our community."
