The 18-year-old bagged another victory just days ago, winning the Mission League doubles championship. In a photo, the beaming Levi stands beside teammate Cooper Schwartz, holding up four fingers — one for each of his four straight league doubles championships.
Those achievements had to be a bit of a balm for the Levi family, coming just a few months after their home in Pacific Palisades burned in the January firestorm. The family had relocated to the South Bay.
It felt beyond comprehension, then, when Loyola Principal Jamal Adams emailed students and staff of the Catholic Jesuit school Sunday to inform them that Levi had been killed in a traffic accident just hours earlier, a month before his high school graduation.
“Braun was a shining presence in our Loyola family,” Adams wrote, “bringing light, joy, and inspiration to everyone he touched.”
The principal invited the Loyola school family to a prayer vigil on campus Sunday evening. “All members of our community are welcome to join us as we gather in unity and remembrance,” Adams wrote.
Manhattan Beach police said they had arrested a 33-year-old Los Angeles woman on suspicion of drunk driving and homicide in connection with the crash, which they said occurred after midnight Sunday morning.
A brief news release from the department said only that a call came in at 12:46 a.m. about a traffic accident involving a pedestrian in the 100 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard. They found the victim, whom they did not identify, lying in the street.
The police statement said that Jenia Belt of Los Angeles had been arrested in the crash. Belt remained in the Manhattan Beach jail Sunday, a police watch commander said.
Friends showered Levi’s social media accounts with tributes to him. Levi was to attend the University of Virginia in the fall.
“Anyone who got to know you knows how lucky they are,” said one message. “You never met a stranger, and left an impact on everyone you met. I’m going to live and love as big as you every day.”
Said another: “Whether you were lucky enough to cross paths with him for an hour or a lifetime, he left an impression. It was impossible to be sad or bored whenever Braun was around, and his gift for lifting those around him was truly singular.”
The images from Levi’s social media hint at a prototypical Southern California upbringing. He’s wading in a High Sierra lake with his family, arm-in-arm with buddies on the beach, posing for a selfie with actor Adam Sandler and rocking a pink suit and a fedora beside a horse racing track.
Just two years ago, another Loyola High student-athlete died in the final weeks of his high school career. Ryan Times, a pitcher on the baseball team, was struck and killed by a train in April of 2023, when the school was on spring break.
Brian Held, coach of the Loyola varsity tennis team, called Levi, a three-year captain, “probably the most decorated player to ever play for the school.”
Held also taught Levi in AP Economics and Statistics. “We are all stunned, devastated and heartbroken with this tragedy,” Held said via email. “Braun was the most amazing, all-around leader, whom everyone loved, even his opponents. He was just that type of kid — unique and special. As one of his teachers, I witnessed how he brought joy to everyone.”
Levi is survived by his parents and an older sister.

Devon Levi has established that he can carry a team through the regular season
Now the 23-year-old Rochester Americans goaltender is starting to find that same success in the Calder Cup Playoffs as well
Levi pocketed two shutouts in three games as the Amerks swept the Syracuse Crunch in their best-of-five North Division semifinal series
With 30 saves in Thursday’s 4-0 series-clinching victory
Levi extended his shutout streak to 156 minutes and 31 seconds; he has stopped 90 of 92 shots so far this postseason
After he signed his entry-level deal with Buffalo on Mar
Levi’s first extended run with the Amerks came midway through the 2023-24 season
and he put together a dominant performance to take Rochester into the postseason
The Sabres wanted their top goaltending prospect to get ample playing time in a number-one role and Levi played 23 of the team’s final 36 regular-season games
finishing 16-6-4 with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage
But the Amerks stumbled early in last spring’s Calder Cup Playoffs
falling to the Crunch in the division semifinals – despite Levi’s .923 save percentage in the five-game series
taking on another heavy workload and going 25-13-4 with a 2.20 GAA and a .919 save percentage
and represented the Amerks at the AHL All-Star Classic
Levi left the Crunch shaking their heads last round
Now the Amerks await their next opponent and are already several days into what will be a substantial break before the division finals
That leaves plenty of time to break down either Laval or Cleveland into the smallest of details
Now this year’s group has that same chance
“Regardless of the outcome, just being able to compete out there with the guys and play for something that is very meaningful, it jells a group, bonds a group,” Levi said after closing out the Syracuse series
“There’s times where as a goalie you’re alone in your crease but you can feel the presence of your team and the unity
and that unity was definitely there in the series.”
The Amerks had their ups and downs coming into the final few weeks of the regular season before they eventually settled into a second-place finish in the North Division
But Levi has been a force nearly throughout
In his past five starts dating back to April 16
he has allowed all of five goals and stopped 138 of 143 shots for a .965 save percentage
and he has four shutouts in his last 11 starts
and that makes them a very real Calder Cup threat

but it's clear that he's the future at the position
the team didn't bring in veteran competition to the position
Will Levis was a second-round pick just two years ago
but it's clear that he doesn't have much of a future in Tennessee
but the Titans may rather try to get some value from him this offseason
Pro Football Network put together a list of the top cut and trade candidates for every NFL team this offseason
and Levis was the name they picked for the Titans
Andrew Nelles / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
"Now, Levis is in an awkward position as the ostensible QB2 on the Titans’ depth chart," PFN wrote. "Given how last year went, it’s unclear if Callahan would be willing to trust Levis to fill in for any period of time if needed. Even if Tennessee doesn’t fully trust Brandon Allen as its top backup, other options like Carson Wentz and Tyler Huntley have spent more time in the backup role
"A fresh start would be helpful for both sides. Mike Vrabel was the Titans coach when the franchise drafted Levis, and the New England Patriots’ current backup behind Drake Maye is journeyman Joshua Dobbs
Levis’ collegiate offensive coordinator was Liam Coen
and the Jaguars’ current backup QB is Nick Mullens
Either could be an opportunity for Levis to start over with a familiar coaching staff."
Even if Levis shows that he still has some potential
that would only cause unnecessary drama for the Titans
It might be best to move on from him sooner rather than later
Levi'sThe best denim is always made in Japan
The American denim giant gave me a firsthand look at it third-party a factory in Hiratsuka
its most elevated (and most expensive) line
I spoke with Paul O'Neill, Levi’s Design Director, ahead of Blue Tab's launch on Levi's website to go inside the top-tier denim collection
Your Highsnobiety privacy settings have blocked this Instagram post.Enable All MediaManage consentPrivacy policyWhy Japan for the Blue Tab collection?
In Japan, everything's presented so well; The level of detail is really important to them, so they just make things really well. They take real pride in everything they do. I've been developing fabrics with Hard Denim Mills and other Japanese mills for the last 10 years, and the level of craftsmanship is incredible.
Levi's1 / 4What separates Blue Tab from Levi’s previous “Made in Japan” collections?
The previous “Made in Japan” product was mainly focusing on five-pocket jeans and a couple trucker jackets. We wanted to really look at what our premium aesthetic was going to be for this new collection, so we wanted to build a collection to have some more fashion moments.
How does Blue Tab appeal to real denim enthusiasts?
We're using beautiful fabrics. We're creating our own fabrics, you know, we're not just buying denim off the shelf at the mill. We're working with them to find really unique ways of creating the fabric, we're playing around with different dye techniques, different spinning and weaving techniques to try and create something that's unique. So, I think when [denim experts] start looking closely and living with some of the denim, they’ll appreciate the stuff.

I also said pre-draft that I felt it was a 50/50 proposition Levis was moved on draft weekend vs after it
And in press conference availability since the dust settled
GM Mike Borgonzi said explicitly that the Titans did not try to trade Levis over the weekend
Would I be shocked to find out I’m wrong
But I am old enough to remember the way Borgonzi and company talked about Levis in the pre-draft presser
beginning their shockingly honest remarks with such high regards as “Will is a quarterback in our room.”
if the Titans did in fact try—and fail—to deal Levis during the draft
what is Borgonzi supposed to say afterwards
Of course he would have to say exactly what he said
Admitting otherwise does nothing but hurt his market and damage any leverage they might have
The only thing I said for certain pre-draft is that Levis would be dealt eventually
And so now we wait for “eventually”
which appears likely to be in August during training camp and the preseason
It’s exactly what Tennessee did with Malik Willis last year
and they seem to be interested in doing the same with Levis now: pump him up over the summer at the podium
let him put a couple good practices and preseason games out there to fuel the narrative
But there’s one person who I fear could really mess that up for them
The Kirk Cousins storyline has been on the back burner for a couple of weeks now
as the Falcons inexplicably chose to keep him on their roster past the deadlines that locked in 7-figures worth of guaranteed money for the veteran
he’s the league’s most highly compensated (working) backup
After being paid a 4yr/$180,000,000 contract last spring
he was unseated by rookie Michael Penix before the end of his first season in Atlanta and has been in limbo since
The Falcons decision to keep him around and continue to eat more of the money they owe him points to just one logical thing: they want to deal him to a desperate team around the beginning of the season
The brutal truth is that somebody is liable to lose their starter
And I think the Titans see Levis as the kind of guy who could be appealing to a team needing a spot-starter with upside
Levis’s appeal in that way drops significantly
His only selling point is his price tag as compared to Kirk’s
The Falcons probably want draft capital and for the team trading for him to eat some of his contract
he would essentially only cost somebody the draft pick they’re willing to pay for him
if you need a spot-starter or even a long-term starting option in 2025
there’s no question Cousins is a more attractive player for that role than Levis
They aren’t exactly the same in terms of appeal
But their utility in the eyes of prospective teams later this summer could overlap
and the Titans choosing to wait to deal him could potentially prove a mistake because of it

if you want to wear Levi's jeans then stick to these 5 types below
excuse me while I make up for lost time and order them all
5'4" and I usually opt for a 29 waist in denim)
I've seen so many fashion editors and influencers wearing the 'Ribcage' styles
but this is the first time I've tried them for myself
my waist look smaller than it is and my legs look longer––what is this magic
If you're not into high-waisted pairs then these wouldn't be for you as they sit very high up to create all of these effects
I'm wearing a W29 and L32 and I would have probably gone for a slightly shorter leg so I can wear them with flats
I can only imagine how long my legs would look if I style them with heels
The darker indigo shade will be a wardrobe hero
Ecru pairs aren't just reserved for warmer months––wear these with a suede blazer and heeled boots
Style Notes: Probably the most iconic Levi's style of all time
they've been a staple pair in most people wardrobes
I feel like I've missed out all this time as they're just the perfect pair to wear as part of your everyday uniform
this cropped style is the ideal length for me (I'm wearing a 29 waist and they're the ankle length pair
I wouldn't want this style any smaller as they're a thicker
more structured denim and there's nothing worse than too-tight jeans
This is the pair I'm wearing and they work so well with loafers
The crop version will show off your trainers
Just add an oversized white shirt and some trainers for the ultimate off-duty vibes
This is the exact pair I'm wearing in the photo above.
This extra wide-leg pair is perfect to wear with a tailored blazer.
I would wear these with a sweater and bright trainers.
Style Notes: This is a new style from Levi's, and I'm a fan. I'm wearing a W29 but I would 100% go for a 28 as they would look better more fitted at the waist. I'm wearing a L33 here but as you can see, they're too long for my 5'4" frame so I would go for a 31. The loose-fit is very 2025 and I would style them with a roll neck knit and cropped jacket or with a trench coat. They would also look so good with a pointed-toe heel for evening in a slightly darker wash.
This is the pair I'm wearing and I love the tie waist detail on this style (it's removable, FYI).
Dark denim in a baggier silhouette is a very 2025 denim style.
These will basically go with any T-shirt, knit or jacket you own.
I would wear these with a tucked in shirt and loafers.
Style Notes: Let me start off by declaring that I love this style. This is a W29 and L32 and although I could have probably gone for a shorter leg, I don't mind it puddling at the bottom. I would have however sized down to a 28 waist to make them more fitted on the waist. These are the softest denim so don't feel uncomfortable to wear, they don't feel too tight on the crotch (a pet hate of mine) thanks to the slouchier silhouette and they're just a super easy everyday pair.
I'd wear this dark navy pair with a field jacket and trainers.
These will be your new favourite grey jeans.
The cinched version features back adjusters so you can 'cinch' in the waist for the perfect fit.

While the Titans are getting set to see what their 2025 final roster will look like
and what this season will have in store for Brian Callahan and Co.
they face an odd conundrum surrounding former second-round pick Will Levis
The Kentucky product was given the chance to become the Titans' franchise quarterback
but it was very evident that wasn't in the cards
Sterling Xie of PFSN says the Titans could end up just cutting Levis if they can't find a trade partner for him
"Levis is in an awkward position as the ostensible QB2 on the Titans’ depth chart," Xie writes
it’s unclear if Callahan would be willing to trust Levis to fill in for any period of time if needed
Even if Tennessee doesn’t fully trust Brandon Allen as its top backup
other options like Carson Wentz and Tyler Huntley have spent more time in the backup role
A fresh start would be helpful for both sides
Mike Vrabel was the Titans coach when the franchise drafted Levis
and the New England Patriots’ current backup behind Drake Maye is journeyman Joshua Dobbs
Levis’ collegiate offensive coordinator was Liam Coen
and the Jaguars’ current backup QB is Nick Mullens
Either could be an opportunity for Levis to start over with a familiar coaching staff."
It certainly feels impossible to have Levis remain on the roster after being the starter and then replaced
It's also doubtful that the Titans would get much for Levis
if anything at this point in the offseason
They could end up getting a Day Three pick in return for him should they trade him during the regular season following an injury
similar to what happened with Malik Willis and the Green Bay Packers
Levis posted a 5-16 record in 21 starts with 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions

2025undefined minsShareShareholders of Levi's have overwhelmingly voted in favour of keeping its DEI policiesIconic denim brand Levi Strauss & Co has shrugged off conservative pressure
as shareholders vote decisively against dismantling diversity programmesSo far
Since US President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, many companies across the US (as well as many elsewhere in the world) have started to reconsider their policies on diversity, equity and inclusion
That shareholder meeting happened on 23 April 2025 and the results are in – less than 1% of Levi's shareholders supported a proposal to abolish the company's DEI programme
The proposal was submitted by the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR)
a conservative think tank that has targeted corporate DEI initiatives
The organisation formally asked shareholders to "consider abolishing its DEI program
department and goals" at the company's annual meeting
Levi's board had advised shareholders to vote against the proposal
citing "the strong business case for a diverse and inclusive workforce"
The overwhelming rejection of the anti-DEI proposal comes amid heightened political debate around corporate diversity initiatives in the US
President and Chief Executive Officer of Levi's
had previously expressed unwavering support for the company's inclusivity efforts
"We've been committed to diversity and inclusion for literally decades
So our commitment remains unchanged.
building a diverse and inclusive workplace helps us deliver stronger results," Michelle says
confirmed during the virtual annual meeting that Levi's does not use quotas or discriminatory policies in its recruitment or promotions processes
This clarification addressed one of the key criticisms often levelled against corporate DEI programmes
Conservative activists—especially those from the NCPPR—have vociferously criticised the DEI programmes that have found a home in American business in recent years
Executive Director of the National Center's Free Enterprise Project
argued that DEI programmes risk illegal discrimination
DEI programs can set the very individuals they claim to be helping up for failure and stigma," he said during the meeting
He further suggested that corporations should focus on "raising the floor for all Americans" rather than what he characterised as division based on race and gender
"Imagine what corporations could accomplish if they stop dividing us on the basis of race and sex and instead focused on raising the floor for all Americans in areas such as education
which are at the root of the pipeline problems driving our demographic inequalities," Stefan said
DEI initiatives gained widespread corporate support following the murder of George Floyd in 2020 and the subsequent rise of the Black Lives Matter movement
the political climate has shifted significantly with the recent US presidential election results
The conservative proposal noted that several major technology companies including "Alphabet and Meta cut DEI staff and DEI-related investments; and Microsoft and Zoom laid off their entire DEI teams."
Levi's shareholders have demonstrated strong support for maintaining the company's diversity commitments
We've been committed to diversity and inclusion for literally decades
the NCPPR attempted to reframe the narrative around the vote
"The majority of votes are controlled by institutions and individuals who are subject to conflicts of interest," Stefan said
suggesting that asset managers with ESG-focused funds were influenced by factors beyond shareholder value
He also went so far as to suggest that "the proper headline should perhaps read something like
'No Trustworthy Shareholders Voted for DEI.'"
has a history of taking progressive stances on social issues
having previously supported same-sex marriage
spoken out on gun violence and instituted paid family leave
The company's shareholders appear to remain firmly aligned with this tradition of social responsibility

I’m almost always reaching for one of two pairs of jeans: the Pistola Cassie Jeans or the DL1961 Taylor Barrel Jeans
It’s not because I don’t have other options — I own a denim collection that needs more space than I can provide
So why do I wear the same two pairs over and over again
Finding a great pair of jeans that not only are versatile and easy to style but also fit like a glove and make me feel good every time I put them on can take years
even as a shopping editor who’s constantly testing and reviewing new denim
So when I find a pair that checks all the boxes
which is slightly higher than Levi’s other collections
These jeans are not too light-wash but not too dark-wash
and not too straight-leg but not too flared
That means versatility and an extremely low cost per wear
(The Plank Straight Fit Jeans are not available in the mid-wash I tried quite yet
The first time I wore them was to the office with a white tank from Eterne and a black blazer from COS
I swapped out the blazer for a leather jacket to attend a Yankees game with some friends
I repeated that outfit several times throughout the month because it was so easy and made me feel like I was switching up my look a bit
since I usually opt for baggy or straight-leg jeans
I had to get to a co-worker’s birthday party in Fort Greene Park (I live in New Jersey
and it was one of the first warm weekends of the year
so all my spring and summer clothes were still buried in the back of my closet
I put on a white cap-sleeve tee from Free People with some flats and the jeans
I haven’t worn them out and about with heels just yet
but I styled them with some strappy sandals
the denim is more flexible and comfortable than
cinched-in feeling I’ve come to know and love from Levi’s
I even reached for these formfitting jeans over my baggy ones at the end of the month when I was on my period and having severe bloating and cramping
These jeans hit right below my belly button
and the length is perfect for me; they don’t drag on the ground when I wear ballet flats or sneakers
but they still cover my ankles and work well with heels
I’m pretty straight-shaped throughout my hips and legs
but these are still a bit snug on my thighs
so I would consider sizing up if you are curvy
I love that they don’t stretch out after a few hours and can be worn two days in a row without losing their shape
My holy-grail jeans need to be ones I can wear multiple days in a row without washing
jeans I can wear out to dinner one night and then rewear to the office the next day
I love the relaxed fit of the Seamed Skirt and will continue wearing it; the Chore Coat is cute but hard to style because the denim color is super-light wash (it didn’t really work with anything I own except for white jeans); the Denim Utility Shirt was a bit too cropped and fitted for my liking
and the price range for the entire collection is $58–$368
The cost is pretty comparable to jeans from DL1961 and Citizens of Humanity
It’s slightly more expensive than jeans from brands like Reformation

Langley, B.C. — Vancouver Giants 20-year-old forward Connor Levis has announced his commitment to Bowling Green State University
The Vancouver native will join the BGSU Falcons upon the conclusion of his WHL eligibility at the end of the 2024-25 season
“I am excited to commit to play Division 1 hockey at Bowling Green State University,” Levis said
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me along the way!”
Levis is the first Giant to commit to an NCAA school following the changes to the eligibility rules for NCAA men’s hockey.
Levis is currently fifth on the Giants in scoring this season with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 21 games
He was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the seventh round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft
The right-shot forward has suited up in 244 career Western Hockey League games between the Kamloops Blazers and Giants
during which he has accumulated 196 points (83G-113A)
The hockey program competes in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) conference and plays out of the 5,000 seat Slater Family Ice Arena
The EU bowed to the inevitable on Wednesday (12 March) by firing a volley of returning fire on US imports after president Donald Trump formally started his much anticipated global trade war.
The EU Commission will impose tit-for-tat tariffs on US exports after the Trump administration confirmed 25-percent import tariffs on EU steel and aluminium that will target goods worth $28bn. [€25.7bn]
Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Jack Daniels and Levis jeans will be among the iconic US products that get more expensive.
it has little choice but to respond in kind.
On Wednesday morning
commission president Ursula von der Leyen repeated that “tariffs are taxes” and would hurt business and consumers.
we should not burden our economies,” she said
but defended the EU’s response as “strong and proportionate”.
EU trade commissioner Maros Sefcovic expressed “deep regret” at the US tariffs
adding that EU-US trade relations were ”well balanced”.
Though Trump administration’s tariffs will apply globally
India and Canada are likely to be the main losers from them
Sefcovic said on Wednesday that US officials had made clear that the EU was not the problem during talks with Trump’s top economic officials in Washington last month
But with the US administration pursuing “unjustified and damaging” tariffs
the EU had no choice but to respond in kind
The UK had hoped to be exempted following warm words between Trump and UK prime minister Keir Starmer — who has sought to use London’s post-Brexit status to position himself as a bridge between the US and Europe
Starmer said on Wednesday that he was “disappointed” but has ruled out retaliatory measures for the moment
with officials in London saying that they hope to broker a trade deal with the Trump administration.
Few expected the EU to turn the other cheek to US tariffs
Commission trade officials told reporters on Wednesday that their response is about trying “to show strength” while leaving the door open for a negotiated compromise
they have not ruled out taking a case to the World Trade Organization
accusing the US of breaking the ‘non-discrimination’ principle that is enshrined in the WTO’s rules and are “going to keep our options open”
There is a precedent since Washington and Brussels had a minor trade battle during Trump’s first term
the US imposed tariffs on steel and other goods worth $6.3bn
with the commission responding with duties of the same value.
On the campaign trail ahead of his victory in last November’s US presidential election
Trump promised an ‘America First’ trade policy that would hit countries with tariffs that Trump believes are treating the US unfairly.
“What was $6.3bn back in 2017 is no longer $6.3bn today”
pointing to the UK’s exit from the EU and lower EU goods exports to the US.
\"We cast the net a little bit wider,” said the official
who added that the EU measures will eventually target goods worth around €22.5bn after consultations with businesses and national governments
The official noted that the EU’s measures could “in principle...go all the way up to €26bn.”
The commission is also looking to specifically target US exports from states dominated by Trump’s Republican party in a bid to “try to ensure that there is understanding and pressure within the American system.”
A further announcement will be made on 2 April.
The timeline for what comes next is reasonably clear
The EU measures start on 1 April and will fully apply from 13 April
The US tariffs came into force on Wednesday (12 March)
Washington has set up a review mechanism in May when its businesses will be able to suggest to the US government to add new products.
The early lesson of US tariffs on Canada and Mexico is that Trump sees trade duties as a weapon to force countries to change their policies on migration control and drug trafficking
Trump is known to be exercised by the EU’s 10-percent duties on US vehicles which are significantly higher than the US duties on EU cars and
result in too few American cars being driven on Europe’s roads.
the commission insists that it will not be intimidated.
and it's also not very productive to now start negotiating about removing the tariffs,” said the official.
“What we are looking for in negotiations is a productive discussion about creating value to what is the largest trade and investment relationship in the world
which is the transatlantic relationship,” said that the official
who noted that the EU has trade agreements with 76 countries around the world
while the US has 20 such trade agreements.
Should the tariffs remain in place for a lengthy period there is little question that they will do significant economic damage
Economists believe that the EU’s €800bn ‘ReArm’ project to massively increase defence spending and military capacity following the US’s veiled threats not to protect Nato's eastern border could prompt an industrial boom across the bloc.
Others have warned that the US could face a recession of up to three percent over the coming year
Trump has said that the American economy faces a “period of transition”.
European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde warned on Wednesday that “maintaining stability in a new era will be a formidable task”.
“Trade fragmentation and higher defence spending in a capacity-constrained sector could in principle push up inflation,” said Lagarde.
“Yet US tariffs could also lower demand for EU exports and redirect excess capacity from China into Europe
Canadian officials have briefed that they will impose levies worth close to $20bn on US goods
while China has promised to take “all necessary measures” in response.
“There's no reason and justification to put tariffs on the European Union,” a commission trade official told reporters on Wednesday
That may have been true in the past but is

1 overall pick to be the team's quarterback of the future
33 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by former general manager Ran Carthon and head coach Mike Vrabel
both of whom are no longer with the Titans
With the Titans looking to put their past behind them, Bleacher Report analyst Brent Sobleski officially declared Levis as a failure for Tennessee.
The Titans responded by doing the right thing and selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No
1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft," Sobleski wrote
"Unlike other organizations in this year's draft
Tennessee understood that the longer a franchise waits to address the game's most important position
giving the Titans the chance to actually compete in a conference that features Patrick Mahomes
The Titans picked Levis knowing he was the No
4 quarterback at best in his class that also had Bryce Young
Stroud and Anthony Richardson all chosen within the top four picks
Tennessee didn't want to think about that this time around
taking the surefire best quarterback in the class in Ward
Ward will now be compared to the entire league as opposed to the rookie class
the conference that has most of the better quarterbacks in the NFL
so he will need to find a way to be better than those signal callers who have been excellent in the primes of their career
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Taylor Girard scored her first goal for New York, Paetyn Levis added an empty-net goal and Corinne Schroeder had 33 saves to help the Sirens beat the Minnesota Frost 2-0 on Sunday.
Schroeder, who has not allowed a goal in 128 minutes, 33 seconds, has recorded back-to-back shutouts.
Girard, acquired via trade with Boston in January, came up with a loose puck near center ice, raced toward the net and beat goaltender Maddie Rooney to give the Sirens a 1-0 lead with 8:53 left in the second period.
Levis scored a power-play goal with 7.8 seconds remaining.
Sirens: Already eliminated from playoff contention, New York has won three games in a row and has a foundational piece in Schroeder, whose 530 saves this season are the second most in the PWHL
Frost: Minnesota has 38 points, four back of Ottawa for the fourth and final playoff spot with two games remaining.
Schroeder withstood an early onslaught by the Frost, who fired off 17 shots in the game's first 10-plus minutes.
The Sirens have won four games in a row against the Frost.
The Sirens visit Toronto on Tuesday and the Frost travels to Ottawa to take on the Charge on Wednesday in a must-win game for Minnesota.

Welcome to Jeans Month on the Strategist, where we’re obsessively vetting denim — from trying on every pair at the Gap to asking dozens of stylish people about their favorite fits. For more, head to our Jeans Month hub
As the Strategist’s resident materials expert
I acquired two pairs each of our most-recommended jeans (women’s Wedgies and Ribcages and the classic men’s 501s) — one pair ordered from Amazon
I was careful to match up the same washes to prevent differences in distressing or fabric treatment from skewing the results
It didn’t make sense: Why would Levi’s maintain separate supply chains for different retailers
I pulled the jeans out of their plastic packaging expecting them to be indistinguishable
The first thing I noticed: The washes looked different
The most pronounced were the Ribcage jeans in a medium blue called “Jazz Pop” — the pair from Amazon had a smoother handfeel and more even color
while the non-Amazon pair felt bumpier with small flecks of higher-contrast fading
The Wedgies from Amazon had a bumpier feel as well
and the 501s from Amazon were a hint darker
To figure out whether these aesthetic variations made for differences in quality
I took all the jeans to the testing lab of F.I.T.’s Textile Development and Marketing Department
The pairs were mixed and relabeled to obscure which one came from which retailer; lab assistant Cesar Saavedra stamped and snipped out samples
and clamped into a blue metal machine that exerted hundreds of pounds of force to rip the denim against the grain before releasing with a pneumatic hiss
“the denim in each of these six pairs is different,” said Margaret Bishop
You’re not getting a cheap product.” But in a blind test
I reconciled my data with my denim scraps to interpret the results
There were some outliers — most of the denim weighed 13 to 14 ounces per square yard except for a pair of non-Amazon 501s
which was 30 percent lighter than its analogue
A pair of non-Amazon Ribcages was significantly less resistant to tearing
one source didn’t significantly outperform the other
the jeans from Amazon did slightly better on average
The aesthetic differences also didn’t correlate to the jeans’ strength
Bishop attributed the bumpier handfeel of a couple of the pairs to the level of twist in the yarn
(A colorfastness test confirmed the two Jazz Pop Ribcages were dyed differently.)
The tests confirmed a lot of variability between two pairs of the same jeans — you could buy the same style from Amazon and Levi’s and feel a difference
But it didn’t add up to gaps in quality; there was no indication that the Levi’s from Amazon were worse
Levi’s sources its fabric from dozens of mills across the world, from luxury supplier Candiani in Italy to sites in India
The six pairs I tested were manufactured in three places: Cambodia
it makes sense that jeans made to the same specifications from different mills
and factories would result in different products
This is especially true for washes and distressing, a notoriously fiddly process. “Wash houses get a formula — a recipe, if you will — of how the denim is supposed to be washed. You might have different machinery, you might have slightly different chemicals,” says Maxine Bédat, author of the jeans study Unraveled
Just as “everybody making a recipe doesn’t come out with the same pie,” small differences in production will add up to different-looking jeans
“The bigger the brand and the more channels in which it’s sold, the more diverse quality and fabric you’re going to see,” says Angela Velasquez, the executive editor of SJ Denim
If you want to minimize variation between pairs of jeans
niche brand,” which is more likely to have a tighter supply chain and thus fewer differences in fabric and fit between pairs

another type of denim-made oddity has emerged: A trucker jacket
Bless, a Berlin-based art collective-cum-fashion brand responsible for lowkey Supreme collaborations and inside-out Fendi bags
has re-launched an old favorite from a longstanding collaboration
Together with Cristaseya — a similarly multi-purpose project covering fashion

a classic Levi’s denim trucker jacket is upcycled and stitched together with a thick knit cardigan
Your Highsnobiety privacy settings have blocked this Twitter post.Enable All MediaManage consentPrivacy policyThere are two options to choose from
either the button-down cardigan covers the front (in which case the jacket costs $1585) or it’s the workwear-imbued denim Levi’s jacket at the anterior (costing $1470)
the back side of the outerwear piece features a contrasting fabric
In its almost 30-year history, Bless’ denim experiments have taken unexpected turns (its “jeansified” project includes everything from denim brooms to water bottles). For a label hell-bent on turning everything and anything into denim, this hybrid cardigan is actually relatively tame.

but there is no doubt that the depth behind Maye is very thin
there are no other quarterbacks on the roster
The Patriots did sign undrafted free agent Ben Wooldridge
but there is certainly no guarantee that the Louisiana product will make the roster
"A fresh start would be helpful for both sides," Xie wrote of Levis and the Titans
"Mike Vrabel was the Titans coach when the franchise drafted Levis
and the New England Patriots’ current backup behind Drake Maye is journeyman Joshua Dobbs."
Tennessee used a second-round pick on Levis in 2023
but its decision to select Cam Ward with the No
1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft effectively ended the Levis era in Music City
But would the Patriots really be willing to give up an asset for Levis
who has totaled 21 passing touchdowns and 16 interceptions over 21 starts
Perhaps the Titans would be willing to treat Levis as a sunk cost and move him for a late Day 3 pick
but it would certainly represent a tough pillow to swallow for Tennessee regardless of the fact that it is now putting its eggs in Ward's basket
Levis would probably want to go somewhere he would have a chance to start
and that probably won't be the case in New England
Make sure you bookmark New England Patriots on SI for the latest news, exclusive interviews, film breakdowns, and so much more!
what does that mean for their former quarterback of the future
The Tennessee Titans have anointed Cam Ward as the quarterback of the future, and the entire franchise is going to be built around helping him succeed
and Chad Brinker are all in lockstep saying that Ward won't be handed the job in training camp and that he'll have to pry it from Levis
No one in their right mind really believes that Levis has a shot to win that job
and it is still fair to question whether he will be on the roster in 2025
Rumors swirled around a potential Levis trade during the 2025 NFL Draft
The Titans don't appear to be in any rush to part ways with Levis
He's a quality backup quarterback on an affordable four-year rookie contract
One of the biggest cheat codes in the salary cap era is a quarterback on a rookie contract and the Titans have two of them
Levis isn't among the top 50 highest-paid QBs in the NFL
Instead of paying $14 million for a backup quarterback like Daniel Jones
the Titans can rest easy knowing they are getting a similar talent for $3 million
The Titans don't appear interested in simply giving Levis away. A team like the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, or New Orleans Saints should be knocking down the Titans' door to try to get someone who can take as much punishment as Levis did, considering how fragile their current quarterbacks are
It seems like the Titans' front office knows Levis has value around the NFL
because they are making it very clear that they didn't attempt to trade him during the draft
Borgonzi recently discussed Levis and how valuable having a cheap backup quarterback is via the official team website."'It's a lot of value," Borgonzi said of Levis
'"There is going to be competition in every room
and he elevates the competition in that room
That is what we're trying to do here as we get into training camp
Though a Levis trade could still materialize
the Titans are making it clear they're not in any rush
It's different from the Malik Willis situation last offseason
cheapest tandem of quarterbacks in the NFL and root for Levis to impress throughout training camp and possibly the preseason so that other teams are tempted to make a move for him

and other cool people (including our writers and editors) have recommended on the Strategist
so you can choose a pair that fits your height and color preferences
The Plus-Size Wedgie Jeans are a favorite of model Felicity Hayward
who told us that they are unbeatable when it comes to style and quality
She describes the sizing in one word — “perfect” — and adds that the jeans “can be paired with sneakers for a more casual look
or with some pointed stilettos to elongate those lovely legs.”
Levi’s 315 Shaping Bootcut Jeans are another favorite among plus-size women, so much so that we’ve named the pair the “best plus-size boot-cut jeans.” Its fans include model Yasmin Geurts
who calls the style her “everyday go-to for work.” She says they “come in right at my belly button and suck in everything,” adding that the flared legs “actually balance all my curves.” Geurts also loves the jeans’ wider back pockets
telling us they make her butt “look great” because of the way the pockets “fan out to the side a little.”
Levi’s Ribcage Ankle Jeans — the “Goldilocks of jeans,” as we like to call them — are beloved by New York deputy editor Alexis Swerdloff as well as by former Strategist editor Maxine Builder
who describes the rise as “deliriously high
easily clearing my belly button,” but promises that they don’t “feel uncomfortable when I sit.” Swerdloff agrees
describing them as “stiff without being too constricting” and having “just the right amount of flare.” The jeans have appeared in just about every guide to women’s jeans on our site as our favorite super-high-waisted pair
as their name would suggest,” clarifies Pardilla
they simply cinch you at the waist.” Like the Wedgies
these are available in nearly a dozen colors and three different inseams
which means they are ideal for tall and short women alike
“This pair gives me legs for days because of the ultrahigh waist
and the rest of the leg is a nice relaxed straight fit.”
For a petite-friendly pair with a lower rise, we recommend the 501 ’90s jeans. “They are the perfect ‘baggy’ length — so not too long they touch the floor but long enough that you get that cool ’90s vibe,” says Andrea Ventura
petite-model coach and founder of the podcast Standing Tall
Compared to the Wedgies or Ribcages, these jeans are wider at the leg and loose through the hips and thighs. There’s no stretch in them, but writer Jo Rosenthal, who’s a fan of the style, says the jeans have “that Levi’s worn-in” feel from the beginning. Brand consultant Katie Stone
agrees: “They feel like home to me,” she says
“I don’t even consider having them on as ‘wearing jeans’; they’re in a different category of their own.” Just note
she says the darker washes “fit a bit tighter around the butt and hold their shape better” than the lighter ones
“Even as their merits have been contested, I still think skinny jeans are worth having in your closet,” says Pardilla. So, if you’re looking for that one pair, try these. According to writer Diana McCorry
Levi’s 720 High Rise Super Skinny Jeans strike a very happy medium: They have enough stretch “to avoid that nasty tummy compression” but enough shape to “create a great silhouette when you stand up.” They’re also good for those who often have problems with waist gaps
as McCorry finds these jeans to be only “a little loose in the waist
but not quite enough to necessitate a belt.”
I probably own six or seven pairs.” It’s worth noting that you won’t find any stretch here
Welch used to sit in a bathtub with the jeans on to get them to fit as a teen
there’s only one solution: “Wearing them and wearing them and wearing them and wearing them,” she says
Given how many times we’ve featured Levi’s in our jeans guides, it’s no surprise that it makes our favorite jean jacket
it was obvious to me that the ’90s Trucker Jacket is everything I want in a jean jacket: It’s a mix of sturdy and slouchy with a mid-weight feel that’s ideal for every season — and it’s under $100,” says Strategist junior writer Brenley Goertzen
That sturdy-yet-slouchy look comes from the jacket’s fabric composition — 79 percent cotton and 21 percent Tencel — a big difference from the more rigid 100 percent cotton pieces that you need to wear and wear and wear to stretch out
“The blended fabric makes it super-wearable and gives it a nice lived-in feel
like a jean jacket you might have thrifted,” Goertzen adds
Or for chillier days where you want something with a bit more warmth, this sherpa-lined denim jacket comes recommended by trend forecaster Melissa Moylan
She notes that it taps into the ’90s-throwback looks that are currently popular
“We’re seeing oversize jean jackets trend in a big way,” Moylan says
“Levi’s ex-boyfriend style works in a relaxed silhouette with the addition of sherpa lining for winter.”
It turns out that Levi’s makes a number of non-denim layers, too. We learned about this vest from Lexi Lunde
a Chicago-based content creator and personal stylist who says it’s the perfect top layer to pair with leggings
and a long-sleeve tee when walking along Lake Michigan in the fall
While she opted for the classic white option
the vest is also available in black and a rather springy lilac
calling out the jeans’ “strong hardware and 100 percent cotton” material
which he says is non-stretch and therefore tends to hold its shape better as the jeans age
because their high rise makes them easier to dress up
“I’ve always been a fan of higher-rise jeans versus the lower-rise pairs because I wear tailoring and sport coats
so it helps to wear something totally high,” he says
For our Insider Goods series, we spoke to several cowboys about what to buy to achieve an authentic “yeehaw” style. Nick Villanueva, the public relations chair of the Colorado Gay Rodeo Association
notes that tight-fitting jeans have always been a staple
“From what I read in interviews all the way back to the 1980s
you have to have a quality-fit pair of Levi’s,” he says
adding that they’re still what’s worn the most
“Skinny but not skintight” is how Netflix brand and editorial manager Alex Simons describes the fit of these jeans
He promises that they’re “comfortable from the moment you put them on” and that they have the “perfect amount of pocket space.” Simmons adds that he was a “fancy-jeans guy for years,” opting for pricier pairs from brands like Marc by Marc Jacobs until he tried these on and
I don’t have to change my jeans.” He compares bad jeans to bad knives: “If you feel like your jeans are a prison and you don’t feel good in them
just like there is no reason to put up with a bad knife,” he advises
However, Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi revealed during a Monday news conference the team made no such effort to trade Levis
The 2023 second-round pick provides Tennessee with "a lot of value," in Borgonzi's estimation
"There is going to be competition in every room, and he elevates the competition in that room," Borgonzi told reporters of Levis
"That is what we're trying to do here as we get into training camp is have the best 90-man roster and the best competition in every room
Borgonzi's vote of confidence in Levis comes following the 25-year-old's struggles as Tennessee's primary starting quarterback in 2024
He posted just a 2-10 record while completing 63.1% of his passes for 2,091 yards
13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions; his 81.4 passer rating ranked 31st among 36 qualified quarterbacks
Still, Borgonzi and the Titans brass believes Levis – along with veterans Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle – can help create competition as they jockey for position on Tennessee's depth chart
it's going to be a competition," Borgonzi said
"These guys are going to get an equal amount of reps at the beginning and they'll separate themselves as we head into training camp
But the idea is to have competition in the room
I am sure reps will change at some point as people separate themselves."
Ward is most likely to separate from the pack and win the starting job given his draft status
He completed 67.2% of his passes for 4,313 yards
39 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his lone season at Miami
Borgonzi is confident that having each signal-caller compete for his spot on the depth chart and team will bring out the best among the quartet
"It's a great room we have right now with those four guys," Borgonzi said

Proposals aimed at overturning or altering companies’ DEI practices have been unpopular with shareholders
Submissions to the financial institution and clothing company received less than 2% support
The proposal to Goldman Sachs’ board asked the company to revisit its executive pay practices, particularly with respect to how the company considers any DEI goals as part of its compensation practice. The board at Goldman Sachs had “unanimously” recommended voting against the proposal in its proxy statement last month and said it “misunderstands the firm’s compensation process.”
“This proposal is premised on a fundamental mischaracterization of our compensation process,” Goldman’s management wrote
“Compensation for our senior management is based on many considerations
but meeting numerical hiring or promotion goals is not one of them.”
The logic the National Legal and Policy Center included as a supporting statement for submitting the proposal was very similar to the argument that the NCPPR made for why Levi’s should abandon its DEI efforts
Both proposals argued that companies with DEI policies leave themselves open to litigation in light of the Supreme Court’s 2023 decision barring the use of race-conscious admissions in higher education
The NCPPR proposal was the only shareholder proposal up for a vote at Levi’s this year
The conservative think tank’s proposal requested Levi’s stop its DEI program
and no longer consider race and gender in its hiring and promotion practices
and therefore further risks to companies for not abiding by their fiduciary duties,” the proposal said
The clothing company said it recommended shareholders oppose the measure after its board “carefully considered it” and came to the conclusion that “implementing this proposal would not be in the best interest of [Levi’s] shareholders,” according to the proxy materials it submitted last month
The company also said that its board currently exercises oversight of DEI and human capital issues
“We believe in the strong business case for a diverse and inclusive workforce because it supports company performance and also enhances our culture and the well-being of … our employees,” Levi’s management said
“Diversity and inclusion principles are critical in ensuring that our products reflect and are relevant to our diverse global consumer base.”
Three shareholder proposals reached a vote at Goldman Sachs
all of the environmental and social variety
Goldman’s board also received a proposal from NCPPR asking for a racial discrimination audit and another from New York City Comptroller Brad Lander requesting the financial institution publish its green energy supply ratio
NCPPR’s proposal to Goldman Sachs’ board of directors requested the company perform a racial discrimination audit to determine the institution’s “legal and reputational risks stemming from its race-based initiatives.” Management at Goldman Sachs recommended voting against the proposal and said in its proxy statement that it is “committed to operating diversity programs and initiatives and maintaining related policies that comply with the law.”
“We are aware that the law in this area is evolving and we have already evaluated our diversity programs
initiatives and policies — and made changes where appropriate — in order to satisfy applicable legal requirements.”
The racial audit proposal also received less than 2% of support from voting shares on the proposal
getting a hair more support (1.79%) than the executive pay submission proposal (1.66%)
This is the second year in a row Goldman Sachs has received Lander’s energy supply ratio proposal and shareholder support dipped significantly this time around. Goldman had sought to have Lander’s proposal excluded
but the Securities and Exchange Commission denied the no-action request earlier this spring
Lander’s proposal received 29% of shareholder support at the financial institution and landed right outside of “near miss” territory — or proposals that get more than 30% of support
but fail to hit the 40% threshold needed to be considered a “key resolution.” Support for the proposal fell to 15% of voting shares at Goldman’s April 23 meeting

Levis provided Tennessee with 21 starts over the past two seasons
a 2023 NFL Draft second-round selection who at times flashed brilliance but too often made head-scratching blunders
Levis tied for the league high with 18 turnovers (12 interceptions and six fumbles lost) last season -- his first campaign under Titans head coach Brian Callahan
Levis' time atop the Titans depth chart is done for all intents and purposes
Borgonzi said "there was not" an attempt to move him during the draft and it would seem the team wants Ward to compete for the starting job -- at least right now
"That'll be up to Brian and his staff in terms of reps as we go through the offseason and get into training camp
We'll take it step by step here and that'll be up to Brian in terms of who takes what reps at some point."
Ward hasn't been named the starting QB and the Titans aren't looking to move Levis
the former is very likely to change and the latter might
"The idea here is to have competition in the room," Borgonzi said

Atlético Ottawa added a big piece to their backline on Thursday with the signing of 31-year-old full-back Brett Levis
and as a veteran of 10 professional seasons across the top leagues in North America
he brings crucial experience to the nation’s capital
“I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the CPL
especially with a team like Atlético Ottawa,” said Levis
“The atmosphere was always amazing when I played at TD Place against Atlético
now I get to play for them in front of this growing
I’m looking forward to competing for trophies in the country’s capital while continuing to grow soccer in Canada and help inspire the next generation of players.” The Regina native spent the past two seasons in the USL Championship
initially with FC Tulsa in 2023 before being traded to Detroit City FC later that year
he made 34 appearances in all competitions
He began his professional career with the Vancouver Whitecaps organization in 2015
spending five seasons with the club and making 23 MLS appearances
Levis joined Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League
making 45 appearances in all competitions for the club and scoring three times over the course of three seasons
Levis scored what was certainly his most memorable Canadian Premier League goal in the nation’s capital on Apr
beating multiple Ottawa players before sending a shot into the top left corner
The 31-year-old fills a significant position of need for the capital club following the transfer of Matteo de Brienne to GAIS in Sweden and the retirement of club captain Maxim Tissot this off-season
Levis will bring a similar attacking flair to the capital club as de Brienne
He also adds positional and tactical versatility
having played occasionally as both a right and left-sided midfielder during his time with Detroit City
“Brett was our top target at left-back and we are delighted to bring him to Ottawa
and back to Canada,” said Atlético Ottawa general manager JD Ulanowski
“Following Maxim Tissot’s retirement we wanted to bring in a player who not only has the technical quality to raise the level of the squad but someone who would bring a strong voice and experience to the locker room
His versatility allows us to play in different ways and he’s a player that stands out when he’s on the ball.” In his most recent Canadian Premier League season
Levis finished first in the league with 52 interceptions
fourth in recoveries (169) and fifth in tackles won (40)
Levis also proved to be an excellent ball mover during his time in the league
finishing in the top 20 in dribbles completed (11th) and passes into the final third (20th) in 2022
He will add further experience to an Atlético backline that already features plenty
including Amer Didić (123 CPL regular season games played)
Johnny Grant (54) and goalkeeper Nathan Ingham (120)
Levis and Atlético Ottawa recently kicked off preseason in the nation’s capital and will be heading down to Mexico in mid-March
They host the very first match of the 2025 CPL regular season

Despite speculation that Levis would be traded during the draft
Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said Monday that the organization had no intentions of dealing the third-year quarterback over the weekend
Borgonzi believes there is an advantage in keeping Levis
"It's a lot of value," Borgonzi said of Levis
"There is going to be competition in every room
That is what we're trying to do here as we get into training camp
We want to have the best 90-man roster and the best competition in every room
Borgonzi said the Titans haven't named a starter and will leave it up to Callahan to distribute the reps as the group battles for the starting spot
"As we head into the offseason it's going to be a competition," Borgonzi said
"These guys are going to get an equal amount of reps at the beginning and they will separate themselves as we head into training camp
The idea is to have competition in the room
The Titans signed Allen primarily because of his previous experience working with Callahan from 2020-22 with the Cincinnati Bengals when Allen was a backup and Callahan was the offensive coordinator
Boyle was added for depth just under two weeks after Allen was signed
Also Monday, Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker said the team isn't likely to pick up the fifth-year option for wide receiver Treylon Burks
Burks was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 draft, which was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for star wide receiver A.J. Brown
probably not," Brinker said when asked about the fifth-year option
Burks is still rehabbing from a knee injury suffered this past December and is not likely to be ready for the start of training camp

Word on the street is that the Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans are using a better denim
and are essentially exactly 50 percent cheaper than Levi’s
but I still bet a lot of you are going to want Levi’s even after we break down all the reasons that Wrangler is actually a better jean
And then we’ll wrap up this article – what is truly the better fit
Are Wranglers actually that much better than Levi’s
starting with denim: the Levi 501 has a 12-ounce denim that is right-hand twill
Wrangler has 14.75-ounce denim that is broken twill
Levi’s denim basically all runs in one direction
far after Levi’s had already set the tone with the 501s
“This is the fabric that everybody should be using
Wrangler acted more like an industry disrupter and said
why are you setting the standard with this right-hand twill when we can use broken twill
which we view as better?” And with that
we have two things: one of them being broken twill
Right-hand twill denim is fantastic – it’s still obviously being used today by virtually everyone
the general masses of people don’t like that – they want their pants to be as soft as possible
The other thing is basically all pants at the time were unsanforized – meaning you had to do what we’re going to talk about later with Levi 501 shrink-to-fits and
Look at how messed up my pants got when I put them in the water!” In the ’40s and the ’50s
Broken twill is not going to shrink to the right or the left
So these pants did not experience leg twist as much
and also they broke in quicker and were softer
Wrangler jeans are 14.75 ounces, while Levi’s are typically around 12 ounces. That makes a big difference – you can feel that in the store, and if you’re working
if you’re a cowboy or something like that where your pants are ripping all the time
these ones feel stronger so I’ll take those.”
since it’s broken twill and it’s softer
Wrangler can go heavy without people complaining that their jeans are too stiff
Wrangler was essentially able to beef up the weight of their jeans and not have people feel it
and they would also avoid leg twist at the same time
but besides just using a heavier-weight broken twill
Wrangler also kept the rivets on the back booty
then did away with them with the invention of the bar tack
But they also construct their pants with a flat-felled outseam
which is stronger than how Levi’s does it
Levi’s essentially became the best dress jeans, and Wranglers became the best work jeans. Wranglers are built better; they are tougher, but Levi’s, with their darker denim and lighter weight fabric, have a better drape and can be dressed up a little easier
On a vintage pair of Levi’s jeans from the 90s that I have, compared to a pair of recreation Levi’s jeans from 1955, the pockets are way higher
if we compare that with modern-day Wranglers
Wranglers still have a higher pocket than the old Levi’s
Wrangler’s pockets have stayed virtually the same through modernity
I took detailed measurements of the Wrangler vs
Something to note right away: all of the waist sizes are the exact same
That’s pretty interesting when you consider that Levi’s shrink-to-fits are going to shrink
So when we’re looking at the fit and trying to find the differences
we can eliminate the waist since that is the same across the board
We also don’t need to look at rise – obviously
what’s important to note here is that we’re just looking at a tighter pair of jeans in the Wranglers
You could probably size up one in Levi’s and get the same fit that you got in Wranglers
I noticed something interesting in the shrink-to-fits
The Wranglers and the 501s are both a size 30
which is why you size up two in Levi’s because it shrinks down
That would make you assume that when these pants shrink down
they will probably shrink to be smaller than a rinsed pair of Levi’s at 30
and why did Levi’s lower their pockets over time on their jeans when we know higher pockets sit on your actual butt and help show it off
And the answer is: a relaxed lower pocket on jeans may seem like a silly thing to a 28-year-old in fantastic shape like Edgy Albert because why wouldn’t you want to show off your butt
But if you are not in good shape or you have a very big butt that you were trying to hide
a relaxed backside with lower pocket bags will kind of help smooth that out
and you’ll see jean fabric instead of your massive butt
there are like a trillion billion ways to make your body look different in jeans
go to the women’s section of any denim store
“I just want a pair of jeans – they’re wide
or they are not,” when women’s lines are much more attuned to emphasizing and not emphasizing certain parts of their body
The truth is, Wranglers will emphasize how your butt looks – they will make it look better if that’s what you want
but if you get a nice fitting pair of jeans for your body in general
the pocket bags aren’t going to make that big of a difference
we shall dive back into measurement mode and discuss some shrunk Levi 501 shrink-to-fits
kind of what I would expect – they did get smaller than regular rinsed Levi 501s
so that is a little bit more flattering for some people
Pocket height in general – I measured them and re-measured them
Thighs were still a little bit wider than regular
be a lot smaller than the sanforized rinsed 501 Levi’s
it’s so negligible if you wash them similarly that I doubt you would ever notice
I bet they would stretch out to about the same size
The secret is I didn’t really put them in super hot water
they would look a lot similar to the non-STFs
That’s why there’s that big difference
so don’t toss your STFs in the dryer or rinse them that hot and you can get a really nice fit
I don’t really care about broken twill that much
I would much rather have the look of Levi’s besides the pocket bags
you just kind of have to pick what you like

The Levi’s® brand’s longstanding place at the center of culture will be lit up on the silver screen this holiday season thanks to “A Complete Unknown,” the highly anticipated Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet
Directed by James Mangold and set in the influential New York folk music scene of the early 1960s
the Searchlight Pictures film follows an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota who arrives in the West Village with his guitar and revolutionary talent
destined to change the course of American music — often while wearing Levi’s® jeans
Of the many beloved artists who made Levi’s® garments central to their style
few had the cultural and artistic impact of the legendary Bob Dylan
That’s why the Levi’s® team worked with costume designer Arianne Phillips to capture the authentic denim fits of a young Bob Dylan
I kept noticing that Bob Dylan wore Levi’s® consistently throughout his career
So I worked with Paul O’Neill at Levi’s® to help me source original Levi’s® denim and produce the bootcut 501® jeans
as well as recreate the Super Slim Levi’s® jeans that Dylan wore in ‘65,” said Arianne
“We see the silhouette of Levi’s® change in the film alongside Dylan’s own evolution
from the fuller leg 501® jeans that Dylan wore when he first got his start in the NYC West Village folk scene in ’61
to the Super Slim jeans Dylan wore when famously going electric in ‘65
I found that Dylan’s journey could be authentically traced through his Levi’s®.”
With the help of the expansive Levi’s® Archives
the team consulted on the period’s Levi’s® products and supplied historically accurate denim styles
design director of Levi’s® Vintage Clothing
a discovery he made several years ago became a critical source for accurately capturing Dylan’s look
While researching the 2019 Levi’s® Vintage Clothing “Folk City” collection
Paul read the memoir by Bob Dylan’s ex-girlfriend Suze Rotolo
She recalled adding panels into his jeans in the early 1960s so Dylan could wear them over his boots
since she did this years before Levi’s® offered bootcut jeans
Several photos exist that clearly show the insert on his jeans
“Another Side of Bob Dylan.” This key discovery makes its way into the film
“I was honored to consult on this film and work with Arianne and team to authentically bring Bob Dylan’s early Levi’s® styles to life,” said Paul
the brand is releasing a new Levi’s® Vintage Clothing x A Complete Unknown collection later this month
the new collection highlights the romantic side of Dylan’s story and includes the Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1955 501® jeans with bootcut insert
a Levi’s® Vintage Clothing “D” Belt and the Levi’s® Vintage Clothing Suede Jacket
The new Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1955 501® jeans pay homage to his custom pair
They were recreated alongside a leather “D” buckle belt that Dylan always wore
Presented in a beautiful box emblazoned with Dylan’s lyrics
the jeans and belt come with special tributes
including the sheet music for “Girl from the North Country,” a “New Friend” cue card from the legendary “Subterranean Homesick Blues” film and
a typed note that reads “I’ll let you be in my dreams
if I can be in yours” — an early Dylan lyric
the Levi’s® Vintage Clothing team has remade the classic suede Trucker jacket worn by Dylan in the early 1960s
The jacket is presented in a box that includes sheet music for “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,” a “Dig Yourself” cue card and a movie still featuring Timothée Chalamet wearing the jacket
the jacket comes with costume notes on the inside pocket calling out “A Complete Unknown” as well as noting the outfit change and scene the product is featured in
“It was exciting to reproduce Dylan’s original jeans with the inserted panel and include unique ephemera in the presentation
ensuring our new collection captures the film’s romantic themes while faithfully recreating the iconic Levi’s® look of an unparalleled genius,” said Paul
The limited-edition Levi’s® Vintage Clothing x A Complete Unknown collection will be available for purchase on levi.com in time for the film’s theatrical release on December 25
A PROMISING tennis star has died after being hit by a suspected drunk driver
was walking with a pal in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was struck
Cops arrested Jenia Belt, 33, and she has been accused of driving under the influence
Officers found a body lying in the street near Manhattan Beach, California
Levi died just weeks before he was set to graduate high school and months after his family lost their home in the wildfires that ravaged the Pacific Palisades region, as reported by The Los Angeles Times
Levi played tennis for the Loyola High School Athletics team and had just won his 4th league championship
Levi's high school athletics team led the tributes to the young athlete.
“Levi was a true leader throughout our campus,” a post on the athletics team’s Instagram page said.
“He was a true man for and with others, and we will miss him dearly.”
revealed Levi "left an impact" on everyone he met
"Anyone who got to know you knows how lucky they are," she said in a heartbreaking social media post
"You never met a stranger and left an impact on everyone you met
"I'm going to live and love as big as you every day."
described Levi as an "all-round leader."
"He was just that type of kid - unique and special," he told The Los Angeles Times
Held was Levi's economics teacher and said: "I witnessed how he brought joy to everyone."
Levi was a true leader throughout our campus
Levi’s personality was described as lovable and he had an infectious smile
the daughter of football coach Lane Kiffin
described Levi as the "best heart and soul."
Vigils have since been held in the student's memory

Mourners also laid flowers and photographs
the student athlete shared a montage of snaps on social media titled: "Scoop and score."

Once thought to be in the running for the No
Levis seemed like the perfect succession plan for Ryan Tannehill
who the franchise and fan base knew could not carry this team to where they wanted to go
Unfortunately, Levis' first two campaigns in the NFL have been a disaster
as he has won only five times in his 21 career starts
He has completed just 61.0% of his passes for 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions
Last year was so bad that the team only won three games all season and earned the first overall pick in the draft
and he seems like a perfect fit to sit and learn from Mayfield
who shares some of his never-say-die spunk."
A deal like this could make sense because the Buccaneers need a legitimate backup
and Levis immediately lost his value with the Titans as soon as Ward was drafted
Because he and Mayfield have such similar playing styles
it could be the match made in heaven that Tennessee fans never saw come to fruition
If Ward is indeed destined to be Tennessee's next quarterback of the future
what do the Titans do with 2023 second-round pick Will Levis
A trade feels like the most likely outcome
and we could even see a deal over draft weekend—the Arizona Cardinals traded 2018 first-round pick Josh Rosen during the 2019 draft after taking Kyler Murray first overall
we'll examine five teams that could be interested in Levis
why they could look to make a move during or after the 2025 draft
it's worth examining why the 33rd pick in the 2023 class still carries trade value
he's largely struggled in his two pro seasons
going 5-16 as a starter with an 82.7 passer rating
The short answer is that Levis plays the most important position in football
is still only 25 years old and still possesses the upside that made him a valued draft prospect in the first place
Levis has made several highlight-reel plays with both his arm and his legs
he has struggled with pre-snap recognition
working through progressions and ball security (26 turnovers in 21 games)
There's likely at least one NFL coach
who believes that he can "fix" Levis' biggest issues
In a world where there are never enough starting-caliber quarterbacks
In a year that features a relatively underwhelming rookie quarterback class
he should also draw a fair bit of interest on the trade market
FR12117 APSaints head coach Kellen MooreSaints Get: QB Will Levis
If Levis is looking for a new home and a chance to start
he should be hoping to land with the New Orleans Saints
The Saints had a veteran starter for the 2025 season. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on April 11 that Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury "that threatens his availability for this season."
Of the two potential trade targets, Levis feels like a stronger fit for new head coach Kellen Moore and his offense. He's far less proven than Cousins, but his combination of arm strength, size (6'4", 229 lbs) and scrambling ability would give Moore some of the options he had with Jalen Hurts as the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator.
At worst, Levis would add another young signal-caller to a QB competition that will also likely involve Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener.
While the Titans can't expect a massive return for Levis after two disappointing seasons, this hypothetical trade would net them a Day 3 selection and a veteran backup in Ben DiNucci.
APSteelers head coach Mike TomlinSteelers Get: QB Will Levis, 2024 fifth-round pick (No. 167)
Titans Get: 2025 fourth-round pick (No. 123)
The Pittsburgh Steelers could also potentially give Levis a starting opportunity in 2025, depending on how things unfold in the coming days.
Pittsburgh has shown interest in 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers but is still waiting on him to make a decision. Unfortunately for the Steelers, Rodgers is still mulling his options.
"I’m open to anything and attached to nothing, so retirement could still be a possibility," Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday (h/t Justin Tasch of the New York Post).
Whether the Steelers land Rodgers or not, they need to find a young signal-caller to develop for the future. Pittsburgh has a track record of staying playoff-relevant under head coach Mike Tomlin. However, it doesn't have a long-term QB plan in place.
If prospects like Sanders and Dart aren't available at No. 21, they could view Levis as a viable alternative.
Levis' skill set could mesh with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who found success with dual-threat quarterback Justin Fields early last season. Levis isn't nearly as dynamic of a runner as Fields is, but he can scramble well enough to keep defenses honest. His arm strength would also allow Pittsburgh to stretch the field with receivers George Pickens and DK Metcalf.
In Pittsburgh, Levis would have a chance to compete with Mason Rudolph, who split time with Levis at quarterback in Tennessee last season. An early Day 3 pick swap might be enough to interest the Titans in this theoretical deal.
The New York Jets signed Fields to a two-year deal this offseason
but there's no guarantee that he'll be a permanent answer to the franchise's long-standing quarterback woes
the Jets add Levis to the mix while offloading a running back who may not have a long-term future with the franchise
The Titans didn't make Kay's list
but they become a sensible suitor if Levis interests New York
Tennessee already features a solid backfield tandem in Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears
adding Hall to the rotation could give the Titans a dominant rushing attack with which to support Ward early in his career
Hall's prowess as a runner and receiver would blend perfectly with Brian Callahan's offense
and Pollard looms as a potential 2026 cap casualty
Releasing Pollard next offseason would save the Titans $7.3 million in cap space
the Jets would add a fourth-round pick and a young quarterback who could push Fields over the next two seasons
It's worth noting that Jets quarterbacks coach Charles London was Levis' QBs coach and passing game coordinator in Tennessee in 2023
Levis is highly unlikely to find a starting opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings
at least not for any extended period of time
even though he missed his entire rookie campaign following knee surgery
does need a quality backup and currently has only Brett Rypien behind McCarthy on the depth chart
According to ProFootballTalk's Josh Alper
there has "been some thought" that the Vikings will wait until after the draft to add a veteran backup so as not to impact the compensatory pick formula
General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah admitted on Thursday that the team is considering the comp-pick process
"We’re not going to rush it either way
But we’re mindful of it," Adofo-Mensah said
would land Minnesota a (somewhat) experienced quarterback without potentially costing the Vikings a compensatory pick in 2026
While Levis wouldn't really be much of a mentor to McCarthy
he has 21 starts on his resume and could be a viable placeholder if McCarthy isn't ready to start by Week 1
Levis might also be viewed as a better backup than an available veteran like Rodgers
and this hypothetical trade would provide one for both Tennessee and Minnesota
The Titans would give up their second of two fourth-round picks along with Levis but would net a valuable Day 2 selection in 2026
would get their QB2 while adding to their limited 2025 draft capital
Minnesota only owns four selections in this year's draft
FR170982 APRams QB Matthew StaffordRams Get: QB Will Levis
The Los Angeles Rams would give Levis a chance to compete for a starting job
provide him with a perfect opportunity to develop as a pro quarterback
"Levis will fit best in a McVay/Shanahan style system that allows him a smoother transition to the league from a mental standpoint," Klassen wrote in 2023
Learning under Sean McVay and behind Matthew Stafford could help Levis reach his NFL potential
McVay's spacing-based offense would allow him to operate as a "see it
throw it" passer while learning to better read defenses
will need to find an heir to Stafford at some point
The 37-year-old will be back in 2025 after agreeing to an adjusted contract but isn't going to play forever
Los Angeles may not be eager to land Stafford's successor in the 2025 draft
I'll be honest with you, I haven't done a whole lot of work on the quarterbacks," McVay told reporters, per Brock Vierra of SI.com
Now, McVay's statement may be mere pre-draft smoke, and the Rams could be considering a prospect like Dart or Alabama's Jalen Milroe with the 26th pick
using a Day 3 pick swap to acquire Levis could be a wise move
doesn't possess a second-round pick because of last year's trade to move up and acquire Braden Fiske
The Rams could easily consider Levis as a better option than whichever quarterbacks are still available in Round 3 or later

speculation points towards a color palette encompassing Denim
A potential collaboration between Air Jordan and Levi’s is simmering in the kitchen
particularly with the Air Jordan 3 silhouette
Although currently unconfirmed, speculation points towards a color palette encompassing Denim, Black, and Sail. A speculative mock-up by Brandon1an has even surfaced

This wouldn’t be the first time Levi’s and Jordan Brand have joined forces
Previous collaborations include the well-received Air Jordan 4s in 2018 and an earlier Air Jordan 1 partnership in 2008
the notion of another denim-infused Jordan sneaker appears plausible.
The Levi’s x Air Jordan 3 “Denim” is anticipated to drop in Spring 2026 via Nike SNKRS and is expected to carry a price tag exceeding the standard US$200 for Air Jordan 3s

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said Monday that no efforts were made to trade quarterback Will Levis during the draft despite the franchise selecting signal-caller Cam Ward with the first-overall pick, according to team reporter Jim Wyatt
"I think there's going to be competition in every room and he elevates the competition in that room," Borgonzi said of Levis, according to Turron Davenport of ESPN
"That's what we're trying to do here as we get into training camp is to have the best 90-man roster (and) the best competition in every room and Will certainly provides that."
Borgonzi laid out his plan for how Ward and Levis, detailing how both quarterbacks will get "an equal amount of reps at the beginning" of training camp before a front-runner for the starting job emerges, per Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky
I'm sure the reps will change at some point when people separate themselves," Borgonzi added
Levis failed to impress in 2024 after showing a few initial flashes during his rookie campaign
The former second-round pick compiled a 2-10 record last year with 13 touchdowns to 12 interceptions as he struggled with adequate decision-making under center
Ward joins the Titans after an electric final collegiate season at Miami where he threw for 39 touchdowns
