the ski industry is very sensitive to climate change
From seasons that are very different from one year to the next to drastic temperature changes in a single day
operating a snow-dependent leisure service is increasingly difficult
It’s been a long time since we could count on natural snow to provide a ski area that meets the demands of our guests
Snowmaking systems are therefore used at full capacity from the very first cold windows in the fall
These cold periods are however shorter and less reliable at the start of each season
Our teams are proactive and are constantly on the lookout for changes in weather
They prepare the equipment according to the forecasts to maximize efforts on the ground
we’re constantly studying new technologies and investing in more energy efficient infrastructure
Our new machines can operate at higher temperatures
and create perfectly crystallized snow no matter the temperature
The rain and wind are what most affect the skiing conditions
since they can create a compacted snow surface
It then lies on our excellent grooming team to compensate for what Mother Nature sends our way
snowmaking is also influenced by humidity levels: if the air is more humid
colder temperatures are needed to make snow
it takes temperatures of around -2°C to operate when it is more humid
Days reaching a threshold of 0°C average daily temperature are considered days with good snowmaking potential
snowmaking is only reasonable if it can compensate for the potential loss
we have to assess whether the window of cold is not followed by too much rain
All this technology comes at a significant financial and ecological cost
a good percentage of expenses are dedicated to snowmaking; for energy
we are lucky at Tremblant to have several natural accesses to water and an environment that is favorable to the cyclical renewal of water
It comes from Lac Tremblant and Rivière du Diable and naturally returns there when the snow melts
we operate on renewable energy using hydroelectricity
Tremblant became the first Canadian resort to join the POW program
this growing movement has united businesses
professional athletes and outdoor enthusiasts advocating for global solutions to climate change
According to Tremblant’s eco-responsible manager
Nathalie Dandoy: “Tremblant has already demonstrated proactivity in researching and implementing eco-responsible solutions to help future generations enjoy the same pleasures that we are entitled to today
But the experts are clear on the urgency of reducing greenhouse gas emissions
and each of us has a responsibility to take action without delay
Every gesture counts and we encourage our guests
partners and community to demonstrate real commitment and to become actively involved so that the joys of winter last a very long time.”
Tremblant has been taking concrete and positive environmental actions for over 20 years
We’ve deployed countless green initiatives
from waste management promoting recycling and composting
introducing solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations
protecting the mountain’s ecosystems during development and snowmaking
implementing a green hotel program as well as steering promoters towards hosting and managing eco-friendly events
Tremblant is home to a multitude of varied restaurants in the pedestrian village and on the mountain
it is possible to eat exactly what you’re looking for as a culinary experience
But some people have more difficulty to eat when they have dietary restrictions
several of our restaurants offer dishes and options to accommodate these dietary restrictions
you will find something to enjoy at one of these establishments
a picturesque haven nestled in the heart of Québec that promises a blend of adventure
Whether you’re planning a thrilling ski trip
or simply a delightful weekend in the village
Mont Tremblant offers a variety of experiences to suit every traveler
and must-do activities to ensure you make the most of your visit
We drove this time and were lucky enough to work with Mazda and their press fleet to test out the new 2025 CX-70 Mild Hybrid
This mid-size SUV is great for 2 couples or a family and has space in the trunk for our snowboard gear and bags for a 4-day trip
Driving long distance in the winter requires comfort
all of which were accomplished by this vehicle
We also love the detailing inside of Mazdas as well as their user interface for their dashboard computer
To get to Tremblant we took the 407 to the 401 and then up through Ottawa towards our final destination
The drive is about 6 hours from Toronto with places like EnRoute or smaller towns to stop along the way
you can stop in Kingston or Ottawa to grab a bite to eat at a nicer spot
Flying to Tremblant requires you to first fly in to Montréal and then drive about 2 hours to reach your destination
We have often found it much easier to drive with all the time lost at airports and wait times
But if you are coming from somewhere else in the world
you will most likely fly into Montréal and then rent a car or take a bus the rest of the way

The ease of access and ample seating made it an ideal spot for a pit stop during a day of skiing
eliminating the need to descend into the village
the affordability of the offerings made it a practical and inviting choice for a satisfying meal with a spectacular backdrop
At the microbrasserie La Diable
we indulged in a satisfying dining experience at this cozy bar and restaurant known for its impressive selection of meat dishes
perfectly complemented by the presence of some exceptional craft beers
Our meal consisted of mouthwatering ribs served with crispy fries and a refreshing Caesar salad
along with a delightful selection of two sausages paired with fries
Opting for the Toulouse and Swiss sausages
we found each selection to be unique and satisfying
ensuring that we could fully enjoy our generous portion sizes

La Diable microbrasserie provided a welcoming atmosphere and delicious meals that left us thoroughly satisfied

The mountain says recent temps have been "above the minimum snowmaking threshold."
Quebec's largest ski resort is postponing its opening date due to unexpected warmth.
MTL Blog StaffContributorNov 13, 2024, 11:25 AMMont-Tremblant visitors will need to hold onto their skis just a little longer this season
as the resort has postponed the start of its 2024-25 season
While the mountain was all set to kick off its winter fun next week on November 22, Quebec's weather has thrown a curveball. According to Tremblant
recent temperatures have been too warm for snowmaking
The ski resort said that without enough cold weather
snowmaking opportunities have been "few and far between."
But don't stash away your gear just yet! The mountain resort promises the delay will be short
With colder nights in the forecast, Tremblant says it's using this time to prepare the mountain
Extra snowguns have been installed on the lower Nansen trail to cover this area quickly
while other trails are getting similar attention
The resort said this additional effort is meant to help ensure an optimal experience when skiers finally hit the slopes
the team at Tremblant shared that it is "[looking] forward to welcoming you and sharing unforgettable snowy moments."
For those eager to kick off the season in style
Tremblant will host its annual red-carpet event at the base of the gondola on Thursday
— a fresh kickoff for a fresh new ski season
So while it may mean a few extra days of waiting
Tremblant is putting in extra effort to make sure this season opens on a high note
the slopes are gearing up for another unforgettable winter

If you’re planning to enjoy winter from its very start in November and December
here are some local tips to make the most of your first runs
The ski season at Tremblant typically kicks off around November 22
snowmaking is key to ensuring excellent skiing conditions right from the beginning
we’re equipped with one of the most advanced snowmaking systems in North America
with more than 1,200 snow guns covering an impressive 213 hectares (527 acres) of our 309 hectares of skiable terrain
The first trails to open are usually the P’tit Bonheur and Nansen Haut green runs, perfect for beginners, along with others like the Beauvallon for the 24h Tremblant
The season starts with about ten trails open on the North and South sides
From opening day onward, we always plan to have terrain park features ready for our freestyle enthusiasts
The Alpine Park typically opens in its entirety before the holiday season
and boxes to get your freestyle fix early in the season
This steady expansion provides a nice variety of runs for all levels right from the start
our temperatures are often milder than what we experience later in the season
This early season is perfect for skiing in moderate temperatures
a bit of humidity is common until Lake Tremblant fully freezes
we suggest dressing in layers and opting for waterproof and breathable clothing to stay dry despite the humidity
it evolves quickly thanks to our snowmaking system and the first natural snowfalls
We typically receive an average of 62,4 cm of snow in November and 114,8 cm in December
Early-season snow can sometimes be a bit heavier
slower surface that’s perfect for regaining confidence on the slopes
You’ll be able to enjoy a beautifully groomed surface for your first runs of the season
The start of the season is packed with festive and sporting events that bring unique energy to the resort:

With Canadian travel experiencing a significant increase this year, make your winter wonderful by immersing yourself in the Mont Tremblant region of Quebec.I’ve been here a few times already but this was my first winter adventure and I’ll certainly be returning. Here’s how to enjoy the Mont Tremblant region with friends
The gear is in solid shape and of good quality because regardless of experience level
Outdoor skating is another signature aspect of winter in Tremblant Resort
They’ve got one and between the upbeat music
enclosed fireplace to complete this wonderful winter activity.
25 minutes from Mont Tremblant in Mont-Blanc is the majestic Sentier des cimes Laurentides
a majestic 40-meter-high structure offering panoramic views
This treetop wooden walkway is all about accessibility as there’s an elevator from the main building to bring you to the walkway. The incline is only six degrees as you move up the spiral path
there’s a reinforced net that you can walk across or lay down in for a memorable experience
the views you’ll enjoy are unmatched.
is the ideal location for a snowshoe hike and the team at D-Tour Outdoor Experiences made sure it was terrific
The packed lunch was a welcome reward at the end of our hike.In the Visitors Centre
Our advanced three-kilometre roundtrip hike took us up a mountainside for wonderful views and included a cup of hot tea along the way
There are also beginner and intermediate trail options to suit your desired level of activity during your visit
snowshoe rentals and an expert guide are part of the package. There’s also a network of cross-country ski trails across the park if that’s your thing
Know that there’s little to no cell signal in the park aside from the free wi-fi at the Visitors Centre
so if there’s someone you’re in contact with often
let them know you’ll be soaking up nature for a few hours
On the same road as Mont-Tremblant National Park is a relatively new spot called Farouche Tremblant
a cafe with seven A-frame rental cabins that offers winter activities
go snow shoeing and enjoy the area on the banks of the Devil’s River.
Want to go for an ATV adventure in the woods? Of course you do! Based out of Labelle, a mere 30 minutes outside of Mont Tremblant
rugged and powerful Kawasaki Teryx 800cc will keep you in motion and with the flaps deployed
Each machine holds up to four people and the 15 km roundtrip spans 90 minutes
The scenery in the northern edge of Mont-Tremblant National Park will keep everyone but the driver capturing pictures and video
There’s a picturesque warming station approximately halfway through the journey.Helmets and a detailed briefing are included to make sure you’re safe
the meaty tires kept us in motion the entire journey and our top-notch professional guide made for a perfect afternoon.Note that the machine is fairly loud so if you have sensitivity to loud sounds
Of the dozens of dining destinations available in Tremblant Resort
here’s where I went and highly recommend: La Forge Bistro-Bar and Grill
sandwiches and more on their premium yet approachable menu
It’s in the heart of Tremblant pedestrian village and if you’re into heated winter patio dining
the patio seats are in the shape of chair lifts
I’ve been here before and happily went again because the food is splendid
the service superb and the healthy portion sizes will make sure you leave satisfied
along with chocolate and fruit fondue for dessert
Bonus points of you opt for the raclette.
This was a “I want wings” second dinner selection in the pedestrian village and this place hit the spot and then some
This Western-themed restaurant has a good vibe
just enough menu items without being overwhelming and the wings are quite good
had a kitchen and with a grocery store in the village
a quick trip there took care of breakfasts and some lunches
I went simple with eggs and hash browns and know that the grocery store is well-stocked with a strong variety of items.
If you’re asking “what’s the best hotel in Tremblant Resort?” then I’ve got an answer for you; Sommet des Neiges
a few more steps from the gondolas and chairlifts for skiing
has underground parking and top-notch customer service
The room I stayed in was adorned with a super-comfy King-sized bed
aforementioned kitchen and a wonderful couch
this is my new favourite hotel in Mont Tremblant
The furthest I walked was from the hotel to the outdoor skating rink
Speaking of walking, spend some time exploring the pedestrian village and experiencing the excitement of the village both during the day and at night. This special part of Quebec
Canada has so much to offer and caters to variety of travellers
both the action-seekers and those who prefer a slower
a touch on the car I drove from Mississauga to Tremblant
the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid All-Wheel Drive
this 1,500+ km journey was made better with the stability of the Corolla
more so with the high-quality winter tires.
modern technology and several standard active safety systems all made this an ideal travelling companion

Did you know that the forests between the Le Géant and Le Diable golf courses are part of an officially recognized nature reserve
the Rivière-du-Diable Nature Reserve is a protected forested area that has been officially recognized since March 2014
designated by the Ministère du Développement durable
highlights a long-standing commitment to conservation and community well-being
The roots of the reserve trace back more than 30 years
During the planning stages of the Le Diable golf course
Station Mont Tremblant and the Ministry of the Environment agreed to safeguard a 42-hectare section along the river’s south bank
This initiative expanded in 2004 with an additional 32 hectares to the north
creating a total protected area of 74 hectares—comparable to 150 football fields
The reserve ensures the permanent preservation of 3 km of natural riverbanks
This protected area helps safeguard local ecosystems and provides a vital habitat for various species
including large numbers of white-tailed deer
the reserve is a major recreational and tourism asset
Stretching from Domaine St-Bernard to the resort center
it enhances the municipality’s trail network and offers an accessible natural environment for all
Station Mont Tremblant took its commitment one step further by donating the reserve to the City of Mont-Tremblant
ensuring it remains a shared treasure for generations to come
This gesture reflects a dedication not just to conservation
but to the quality of life and natural heritage of the region
